EBC’s lightweight-yet-strong aluminum 6-piston brake caliper
Two-piece bolted design that incorporates high-tensile 12.9-grade steel bolts for reinforcement of the caliper bridge section (computer FEA analysis shows that this offers significant improvements in caliper stiffness compared to a monobloc design)
Machined from heat-treated low-pressure castings (this offers a noticeable performance advantage over conventional gravity cast calipers, exhibiting higher overall strength and a comparable caliper body stiffness to forging)
High-temperature fluid seals coupled with full boot-type dust seals give maximum protection against road grime and debris-Lightweight, hard-anodized aluminum staggered pistons with serrated/castellated piston noses that reduce heat transfer into the braking hydraulics
Every single brake caliper pressure tested to 2,500psi
Full stainless-steel hardware and fittings, providing durability and longevity–this caliper will never rust
Uses standard pad shapes, giving choice when selecting brake pads
Rather than a powder-coated finish, all Apollo calipers use an advanced high-temperature Teflon™ polyester coating process to ensure they look great for much longer. Currently available in Stealth Black, Storm Shadow Blue, Luminous Yellow, and Racing Red
Features: Fully-Floating Two-Piece Rotors
Fully-floating 380x36mm two-piece rotors that allow the outer ring to expand freely in response to heat (this reduces stress which in turn extends rotor life and reduces the tendency for rotor cracking during extreme use)
Drive bobbins machined from a single piece of stainless steel giving maximum strength and corrosion resistance (this reduces maintenance requirements and ensures the outer ring continues to float freely over time)
Rotor rings feature 48 directional internal curved vanes for improved cooling
Unique ‘Swept Groove’ slot design for effective evacuation of braking dust and gases whilst ensuring good initial bite on brake application
Now featuring the latest thermic black corrosion-resistant finish–the very latest in rust prevention
Features: Bluestuff™ NDX Performance Brake Pads
Every EBC 6-piston Apollo Big Brake Kit is supplied with EBC Bluestuff™ NDX pads for the front axle
Now road legal in most markets, Bluestuff™ NDX combines excellent cold bite with the capability to perform well in short spells of track/race conditions
Features: Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines
Every kit is supplied with EBC Brakes’ stainless-steel braided brake lines for the front axle
Every hose has a stainless-steel braided exterior that prevents a phenomenon known as ‘ballooning’, this braided exterior prevents the spongey feel of OE rubber lines and provides greater precision and feel under braking
Features: Super DOT 4 Brake Fluid
Every kit is supplied with 1 litre of BF307+ super DOT 4 brake fluid. This fluid has a 310°C boiling point–a significantly higher boiling point than standard DOT 5.1 fluid
Having such a high boiling point gives the braking system exceptional endurance, allowing you to push hard for extended periods without heat soak causing the fluid to boil and resulting in a fade

Debutant | doe eyes
Female Marc Marquez snippet
Next
The first thing Dani Pedrosa thought after meeting Mar Marquez was that she looked rather fawn like.
Dainty and small (though still taller than himself), the tiniest dappling of freckles across delicate cheekbones, all pulled together by a pair of big glassy black eyes and even darker lashes. Long and curling, they brushed her cheeks with each blink. The team kit Honda had given her was ill fitted and seemed to swallow her whole, arms and shoulders gaping around her, while the soft high collar of the fleeces she seemed to love cradled her smiling face. She looked soft. Wide eyed, curios, but bafflingly confident in a slightly disarming way that had Dani a little off balance.
Jorge could see the resemblance.
He could see the softness that she still carried, baby fat still making her cheeks rounded and plush. Pillowy lips and fluffy hair curling around ears that stuck out in an almost childish way she didn’t seem to grow out of. Her helmet hair, spilling out of the short little braids in crazy tight ringlets that stood in every direction, seemed to shave even more years off of her already young age. Those big doe eyes.
Dani had left the comparison slip once, the words tumbling past his lips after a few too many drinks as he recounted their first test rides on the bike, but Jorge couldn’t help but think she was really more like a wolf. Maybe it was her smile, all perfect and sharp teeth, so many exposed as she laughed loudly and showed off those disarming dimples, maybe it was how dark her eyes were, such a rich brown it would be easier to call them black. Maybe it was how all she seemed to do was hunt. On track, off track, those dark eyes following and watching and learning.
So pretty but intense and unnerving in a way that had Jorge feeling almost small.
Eclipsed, maybe.
Valentino, it was hard to imagine what he thought of Mar.
Rossi seemed to think something similar to him but there was a disarming softness to the looks he gave the young woman that made Jorge think that just maybe he was fooled by the baby deer look she had to her, fooled like many others through the feeder series. The older man, a nine times champion, had clocked something in the rookie that was almost parallel to himself. It drew him in a little, maybe blinded him for a second, but Qatar had certainly been an awakening. Sudden, aggressive, unyielding, she had passed Valentino Rossi again and again and again. He had responded in kind but had just barely held on to second place by the skin of his teeth. She had been right behind him, barely meters between their bikes as she sped up the start finish straight hunched down in the seat, fighting to the last millisecond.
So small, leathers deigned to blend with the bike, it had been hard to tell where she ended and machine began.
She was off like a shot though as soon as they were in parc ferme, a blur of white and orange, unmissable in the see of Yamahas royal blue. Even as he celebrated his own win standing tall on the bike, he could see her pressed against the barriers and held up by her team just enough her feet dangled a few inches off of the ground. Yamaha staff mingled with the Honda, all wanting to congratulate the bombshell rookie, and he could even see Uccio land a few solid slaps on her back. He had lost sight of her after that. Descended into the throws of his team to celebrate his first win of the season, Valentinos team mingling and melding with his own to make an even bigger crowd while photographers and reports swelled closer like a wave ready to brake on the barriers.
He doesn’t see her again until Rossi is on her, dragging her in for a congratulatory hug and slap on the back that have her glasses tumbling off and her smile widening even further, all dimples and sharp teeth. First race in the premier class and she had almost beat the most successful rider on track. She looked proud of herself, electrified, but somehow not at all surprised. Like she thought she could beat him. She probably could.
Jorge watched out of the corner of his eye for a second, half focused on the interview in front of him, as Valentino slapped his hand against the rookies shoulder and said something that made her laugh loudly, hands fluttering around fixing her sunglasses in a way that betrayed her nerves. Her head bobbed, short black curls spilling out from under her red cap, before she was cut from sight by a man ushering her towards the podium stairs. Rossi gravitated towards his section of the barriers a second later and clapped him on the back with a much more casual smile.
“She’s good” Was the first thing Jorge said to him.
“She’s was coming to take me, no?” Valentino laughed.
He barley had time to nod before the same man was ushering both him and his teammate towards the cooldown room that was long and narrow, walls all beige and bare making all three riders look like obnoxious walking pain blotches that were completely unmissable. They were impossible to miss anyway, room packed tight with riders and presenters and media staff hauling cameras and microphones looming just outside blocking the way out and boxing them in. Elbows clashed, everyone packed tight, and Jorge watched as Valentino squeezed past Mar to grab his bottle. His hand slid just over her ribs as he manoeuvred her just a tiny bit to the side, the young spaniard easy under his hands, before slipping back into place near the door and saying something to her that her laughing one again. Even with the Italian half leant on the table she had to look up at him, head tilted back, laughing all open mouthed and dimpled. she looked deceptively soft.
The comparison Dani made came back to mind.
Valentinos thoughts hadn’t seemed to change though, still looking at her like he knew her, like he recognised something in her that could be great in the future, like maybe this was a fluke or rookie luck to get so close so fast. Jorge however could see it. That impatience that was already winding its way into her bones, searing into her skin. Standing there beside the champion, she looked more like the race winner with how she held herself. She had gotten close. So close. She wasn’t going to wait for anything, certainly wasn’t going to be refined or helped along, no, she’d prefer to just take it. She’d take Valentino next time round. She looked like she wanted too. Always there, so incredibly ready to just throw herself into corner after corner, melding herself to the machine on the straights. Even after they crossed the line, her stare had been dissecting. Always flickering back to Valentino the moment he looked away from her.
Jorge could feel that stare on him now.
Stood on the top stop, it was almost burning, but he pushed it to the side. She wanted exactly what he had and he knew it. After all, she was two down and he was up top, first win of the season and taken by a considerable margin. She should probably try to be content that she was even on the podium on her debut race, her driving wild enough to take both herself and Rossi out if not careful, the track punishing and cruel on tires and riders. Who was he to really care though. His title fight had the perfect start.
No Champagne today, but the victory still tasted so sweet.

What would you consider the best, most reliable, low maintenance car? Bonus points for affordability. After having to take my 2011 Corsa to the garage for the fourth time this year due to a faulty temp sensor (this car just runs on a constant fever I swear. I'm in the UK for goodness sakes it shouldn't get that hot!!!), I'm curious as to whether there are any cars that don't have expiry dates outside of carefully maintained classics.
Well someone's not read my shooting brake post that thoroughly eh! :P
Jokes aside, I've touched on reliability a couple of times so those could be interesting reads for you, but I can tell you that, you'll hear it a lot, Toyota Land Cruisers are usually what you see when a dozen people need to cross a desert and camels aren't an option. And I cannot talk about the durability of old Toyotas without bringing up a piece of television that has been burned into my mind from when I was six or seven to this day and has never faded or faltered in clarity for a single of the seconds between them. Like, genuinely, you go pay me a visit eight years since I last saw it to hit me with a trick question about shot composition details and as you open the door shouting it you walk in on me losing my virginity and I shoo you away yelling "Piss off with your trick questions, I'm getting laid here".
youtube
youtube
youtube
But in terms of advice that is more actionable for you, I would as noted in other posts advise Toyotas and Hondas, and by extension Toyota's luxury brand Lexus (but please don't consider this advice against anything else, especially because these brands, Toyota and Lexus especially, have in some contexts developed a bit of a premium due to their reputation). And I know what you're thinking: "Mate I've a Corsa ya think I could get me a Lexus?" And the answer is yes. And other positively splendid pieces of kit.
I mean, you can find yourself plenty of first generation Lexus LSs in various states of rattiness, and one of those most famously did literally a million miles so I'm pretty sure you're going to be good on that front.
...but if you're not in the extremely lucky position of ULEZ compliance not being a dealbreaker, while looking for those, I also found some second generations...
...and I saw an ad for a third generation, and you know when you see an item and a price and you go through the description just to find out what the deal is and as you comb through you slowly realize that the part where they explain how this is not actually a functioning, usable product isn't there you start whispering "what the fuck? what the fuck?" and you put your hands in your hair and- yeah this is that level. Like genuinely I do not CARE if you were not asking purchasing advice and are not interested in changing your car you go phone your insurance for a quote and if it is anything below "This insurance price will actually ruin my life" you go click on that "Buy it now" button before someone else does.
But of course you may want a smaller car, what with coming from a Corsa and all that. Well, if that's the case, there's a little beauty that you're going to love love, and needs no TLC you and my help can't tackle. Remember my kei sportscars post? Well guess what it just so happens to turn out:
(if you are actually interested in getting a new car but have requirements these don't fulfill don't hesitate to drop me a line, there is little I love more than window shopping car ads and I have plenty other great ideas. If you want a new car you are going to end up with something cool whether you like it or not.)
Links in blue are posts of mine explaining the words in question - if you liked this post, you might like those!

Vitacci Predator FX400 UTV - FamilyGoKarts.com
This is 20 horsepower and usually they are a bit cheaper about $3500. And people know that and they have them sitting there driveway or garage under a cover and they don't use them because they don't know how to tweak them and we do. they are not liquid cool and they should be and we have a jacket and a jacket kit and the cooling system is only about $85 in our kit that we can make and also we have a kit for speed new carburetor and new exhaust brings into about 35 horsepower it's about where the motor should be. We also add in an option for a top end kit it's about a 210 CC motor we offer a kit that makes it 350CC and the engine is big enough yes. That brings the horsepower to about 45 horsepower and now you're talking about horsepower that you can make a small vehicle out of. The fit car has about 60 horsepower no it's about 35 horsepower that high performance small honda you saw the 660 s has only 40 horsepower. And it goes pretty good. We would leave the gearing alone and the axles and so forth you need new tires and rims and you need a drop one body kit and a new interior and you need to chop the roll cage off the top and attach the roll cage we send and we show you where the attachment points are of course it's part of the kit and it comes ready made and all you do is bolt it up and weld it and you drop the body kit on in the glass you have to put on afterwards or it would break every time. This is going to be a fiberglass kit and he wants the other ones to be metal and will have a full blown automobile industry making those other kits. The reason is safety and reliability and people won't buy them if they're fiberglass because they're not of that level. Price will stay the same because we can make tons of them very quickly and we're going to start making the Corvette. And we're gonna go through statistics.
Vitachi 4 wheel original horsepower 20HP
2.Vitachi original top speed forty eight miles per hour
3. Vitachi original zero sixty 4.9 seconds. And you cannot drive it on the road in this format however with our kit
H1/2 HUMMER LIKE THE HUMBUG FBGL FULL KIT
1. H1/2 New horsepower 48 horsepower
2. H 1/2 zero to sixty three point two seconds
3.H1/2 top speed with two passengers the way £150 each top speed 180 mph with two passengers the way one hundred and fifty pounds each
the H1/2 kit Is a drop on kit most of the items are already installed on the fuselage including the dashboard and gages you just need to hook them up and a new battery system is included which adds one battery of a different size. And also the charging system is included the voltage regulating system is included and it has a small solid state control box. Discharge systems for extra current are included and grounding systems also it has a gear shift kit included to use a floor panel system and a box system adjacent to you on the right new steering wheel new steering column and steering system included the glass the full body and it is made of fiberglass with an enclosure and full interior including two seats in the front and event seat in the rear and this particular version would have a roll cage and a soft top it is the least expensive. Can we include new rims and tires they're lightweight and that's Why. Goes to come with it or twice as heavy each.
Estimated price of this kit is about $5000 because it's all small parts and it's all lightweight and it's not very high performance the brake system included is hydraulic that comes with your vitaki and it's street legal everything about this makes it street legal. It comes with a horn and lights turn signals and control panel for that and fuse box for that and a small radio it's very cheap but what do you want it's a military type vehicle. We'll have other models off road dune bug you type which would be a baja car and it'll be a Chevy in a Ford and they would look very cool psyche off Road Camaro and an off road Ford Mustang for this size vehicle and larger off road quad UTV. And we're going to start opening factories for this now and the UTV don't really sell but these will and we're going to convert those factories to this mode. Asap asap
--- We are handling the fallout in residual activity from the evacuation and the loss we are mitigating it it is not as catastrophic as predicted at this very time but we are constantly beefing up right now just in case they're evacuating peacefully they're not building trillions of devices it is a number and it and it is up there but it's not huge. People don't want them to blow us up they say and we are moving out and we're getting moving on these ideas as well and we're going to open the factories. Programs are slated to start on Friday we will make announcements of other programs beginning tomorrow and they are major and we want ours to sign on as soon as you can. This is a professionally done product and our kit is going to be professionally made. Kits these days that are add-ons or perform Kits these days that are add-ons or performance kits have all the parts you need and one of the companies that made that happen was ikea and our son said you have to have everything in it and they made it a staple and these guys do the work sometimes. Going to be doing the work in the Midwest and we're going to be hiring them and in the perimeter to do this work. They are going to love these buggies and they are Baja buggies they're not doing buggies they go in the dunes very easily and they go on Baja as well which is much more difficult the more expensive the Baja donor vehicle the better of the performance and engines of 250CC are better usually the chassis is Baja professional race quality and you can go extremely fast some we have made go 300 mph and that's about 150 mph faster than your fastest buggy. And we will be making these for competition and people will be buying them and you will see them on TV. All of our Gods with you and all our prayers and Godspeed
Frank Castle Hardcastle and he says he wants to see me out there and his wife 'cause he's gonna raise us race us and do the stupid thing over again and not hurt himself and we have to do this now.
He says it's a friendly race and he wants to get together and see if he can do anything but he's gonna try and sometimes he wins. So I'm gonna get ready for it he says he needs a big one I need a big one too. They do make bigger ones and they're Class A but really this is gonna be intense he's gonna have to make when he said.
Thor Freya
Yeah I'll give you advice probably. I mean it too and I soup it up and hyper cool it and yeah we're gonna have to do that
and hyper cool it and yeah we're gonna have to do that

shit kid ok
sam
we do this now now

go back to sleep ken
Hera haahh no me Thor Freya
and good no victory motorcycle too heavy true too
ken
nope
Zues
and explain ok twit hahaah lo just woke up him too but he is in hsi apartment ok was a duzy mb
ken
There are a lot of bikes in the market but there was only one victory that I heard the motors at first for not humongous but very big but very powerful but so is the frame and there were not as heavy that's the way in combination and they also had trimmed down versions
Zues
It's true they were not as heavy as the Harley still fairly heavy but they were strong the frames can hold up his weight he's gonna weigh 400 pounds and it is rated for about£800. It doesn't say that but it is and they wave like £300 less. And pound for pound it would work because you need a transmission like that to go any distance and with a motor that big and a person that big.
Hera
good so im in if you try it.
Ken
We have many ways ofWe have many ways of trying but this would be a major major major company to try that with just like Pontiac. Of the problems is the name of the bike. The words for people other than the max and they want to use it to try and take over but we will try and get that going and put it in as a special project request and he says by Hera it's hers and she agrees. There's another one he can't remember the name of but we're gonna put that one in two something like American Eagle and that's what it is.
Frank Castle hard castle
You always have to be **** **** I thought you're my friend he says well that's my end and don't you want to rub and yeah that's good.

Top 5 Best Mods for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5
Let’s be honest, there are way less FL5 owners testing the full potential of their factory built track weapon when compared to FK8 owners, which is obviously due to how new it is and the massive markup they likely paid leaving the pandemic. As the auto sales market begins to reach pre-stimulus levels, we can only hope to see more and more of those future classics hit the tracks. As far as I can tell, Honda made slight improvements to the cooling system when compared to the FK8, but FL5 owners are still feeling the heat.
For your casual auto-crosser or beginner level HPDE enthusiast, it’s probably not as big of an issue as it would be if you were moving into the more advanced tiers and going all in for the majority of your session.  However, once you start finding more power through bolt-ons and advance tuning, the K20C1 really starts to sweat. That being said, if you’re going to hit the track in your Type R like Koji Watanabe-san would want, you owe it to your investment to upgrade your cooling system. While you have the trusty AMEX out, you might as well upgrade the braking system too.
With that being said, these are the Top 5 Best Mods for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5:
1. PWR Advanced Cooling Technology Performance Radiator
Despite being a cutting edge performance car, the FL5 does have its flaws. Heat soak is one problem area, particularly during sustained hard driving. To combat this, PWR has developed one of the most tested radiator kits on the market today. Designed to integrate seamlessly into your engine bay, it comes standard with provisions for OEM mounting. This kit takes advantage of air flow generated through the bay by the bonnet scoop and under tray. Crafted with premium aluminum materials and professionally TIG-welded in the USA, this radiator boasts a single-pass design and louvered fin technology for maximum heat dissipation.
2. EBC Brakes Fully Floating 2-Piece Brake Rotors
Looking to drive your FL5 to work Monday to Friday, but fancy hitting the track on a weekend? You’ll probably want to consider upgrading your rotors and pads! The EBC Brake Rotors are designed to serve this exact need, offering a long lasting outer ring by using high quality components that can stand up to more spirited driving plus serious track abuse than the widely marketed 1-piece cast iron rotors!
3. HKS Legamax Sports Revolutionary Exhaust System
The FL5 is the crème de la crème of front-engine front wheel drive cars to come out of Japan, and while we can hope to SEE more of them in the coming months, I think more of us would prefer to HEAR them. That being said, the factory exhaust on the FL5 was designed with a compliance first, performance eventually mindset. Luckily, exhaust artisans from all over the world have come to the rescue on our quest for power and sound.  HKS has been known for their signature sounds since their inception. Gone are the days of the T51R and Super Drager, instead HKS has blessed us with the Legamax line. Completely ditching the factory valve system, HKS believes in flow consistency and has designed the Legamax to deliver a 30% increase in exhaust flow, which when paired with the HKS Power Editor results in impressive gains over stock, and even improved boost pressure and response.
4. PRL Motorsports Billet Intercooler Upgrade
As with any turbo-charged car, the FL5 needs cool, dense air to make the best power, however the standard intercooler isn’t really up to the task. A slightly inefficient design coupled with the FL5’s heat soak issues have driven a variety of companies to offer aftermarket kits. Our favorite is this PRL kit, with its re-designed end tanks and expanded core size, increasing the intercooler surface area by 31% over stock. Billet machined aluminum end tanks maximize efficiency while looking as smooth as they flow! This intercooler utilizes factory mounting spots with the billet machined end tanks as well as all factory air ducts/shrouds. PRL extended the intercooler fins to take up the entire width of the front bumper’s opening to increase allow for adequate cooling to/through the intercooler into the radiator.
5. Enkei TS-5
TS-5 is part of the Tuning Series. This five spoke model does a fantastic job of dispersing stress efficiently and allows it to keep the spokes as thin as possible to cut down on weight. Relief cuts on the fronts and sides utilize sacred geometry to keep from sacrificing strength and effectively shave weight even further. The step-down lip adds depth and that extra emphasis on this star shape.  18×9.5 +45 5×120 wrapped in 265/35R 18 (As pictured) seem to be most practical fit, but if being original isn’t your thing, we also have TE-37’s in stock.
There are dozens of other great ways to modify your FL5. Let our performance specialists help you decide what’s right for you by calling 1-480-966-3040 or emailing [email protected].

Tumblr media
- Introduction The much-loved CBR600RR has an impressive and hard-won racing pedigree. It was piloted to FIM World Super Sports championship victory every year from 2003 to 2008, and again in 2010, 2012 and 2014. It won the Asia Road Racing championship from 2012 to 2016 and the All-Japan Road Race championship ST600 class from 2003 to 2011, and in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2019. Its engine also provided the power for Moto2 between 2010 and 2018. The 600RR departed from Honda’s European showrooms at the start of 2017 as the trend away from supersport machinery towards naked and adventure models accelerated. In the intervening years, the middleweight sports category has seen a revival, and the model was reintroduced for 21YM in Japan and Thailand. Now the time is ripe for the purest of all road-legal sports bikes to make its return to Europe. Loaded with cutting-edge MotoGP-inspired electronics and aerodynamics, the new 24YM CBR600RR is a rare, beautiful thing – a free-revving four-cylinder motorcycling gem that exists in a class of one. Born ready to carve an elegant line on the open road or closed circuit, there’s no other riding experience quite like it.
Tumblr media
- Model Overview Honda’s supersports icon returns to Europe with its 599cc, inline four-cylinder engine producing 89kW @ 14,250rpm, and benefitting from an assist/slipper clutch and standard-fit quickshifter. An electronics package drawn from the RC213V-S and the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade includes Throttle By Wire control, 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Wheelie Control and Rear Lift Control. At the centre of the action and managing all of the systems, including Cornering ABS, is a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) as found inside its sibling, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade. There are 3 default riding modes, plus 2 User modes for adjustment of Engine Power, Engine Braking, HSTC and Wheelie Control. The chassis comprises a twin-spar aluminium frame, aluminium swingarm, 41mm Showa Big Piston USD front forks and Unit Pro-Link Showa rear shock. Four-piston radial-mount front calipers provide the braking power, and a Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) extra stability. The full colour TFT screen includes Street, Circuit and Mechanic modes. A Shift Up indicator and lap timer are also featured. Honda’s Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) are included in the specification. Like all bikes in Honda’s supersport family, the 24YM CBR600RR is available in two colour options: under-the-radar Matt Ballistic Black Metallic, and evocative Grand Prix Red HRC TriColour, the signature colourway of Honda Racing Corporation (HRC).
Tumblr media
- Key Features 3.1 Engine - Inline four-cylinder engine produces 89kW with 63Nm torque - Assist/slipper clutch The CBR600RR’s 599cc, 16-valve inline four-cylinder engine produces 89kW @ 14,250rpm, with 63Nm torque @ 11,500rpm. To achieve the power output at this rpm ceiling the materials used for the camshafts, valve springs and crankshaft have been upgraded for its return to manage both high-rpm inertia force and durability. Bore and stroke is set at 67mm x 42.5mm, with compression ratio of 12.2:1. Every aspect of intake, combustion and exhaust has been through development since the CBR600RR was last on sale in Europe. To flow enough volume at high rpm throttle body diameter is 44mm. The port of the throttle butterfly valve and the intake-side valve have been shaped to allow the cross-section of the entire port (including the inside of the throttle body) to run smoothly, reducing intake pressure drop. The combination of this smooth intake passage and Throttle By Wire (TBW) delivers smooth throttle control, especially at partial openings from fully closed. The inlet ports have been re-shaped, increasing flow capacity by 2.2%. Valve timing has also been adjusted: closing of the inlet valves has been pulled back 5° with the exhaust valves opening 5° later, improving the intake efficiency of the fuel/air mixture and exhaust of combustion gas. Inlet valve diameter is 27.5mm matched to 22.5mm exhaust. For maximum cooling efficiency around the cylinder head, long reach spark plugs allow the water jacket to sit close to the plug hole and exhaust valve seat. The 4-2-1 exhaust uses large bore diameters to enhance high-rpm gas flow; wall thickness has been carefully managed to minimise weight gain. The catalyser is also physically larger, and an important part of the EURO5 homologation process. An assist/slipper clutch manages rear wheel ‘hop’ through rapid down changes and hard braking. It also reduces the physical force needed to operate it by 32% over a standard design and employs die-cast aluminium cams at both transmitting and receiving ends, with clearance between both optimised to improve lever feel.
Tumblr media
3.2 Engine Electronics - RC213V-S-derived Throttle By Wire (TBW) control system - 9-level Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) - 3 default riding modes plus options to customise Power, Engine Brake, HSTC and Wheelie Control - Quickshifter standard fitment The Throttle By Wire (TBW) used by the CBR600RR is drawn from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade and was developed on the RC213V-S. An Acceleration Position Sensor (APS), which interfaces with the throttle grip is built into the switchgear. It sends a signal to the ECU, which then sends a signal to the TBW motor that controls the butterfly. Crucially, the return spring and friction generated by the APS offers a completely natural throttle feel and control. It also offers the same controllability and feel across all of the power levels. The electronic package that goes with TBW is also drawn from the Fireblade. 9-level (plus off) Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) uses slip rate control (which monitors the rate at which slip is changing based on the ratio of front/rear wheel speeds) to smoothly moderate rapid wheel spin. It gives smooth, intuitive grip management, with software developed from wide-ranging, top-level feedback from around the world, including HRC’s riders. Level 1 has the weakest intervention, level 9 the strongest. There are three default riding modes: Mode 1 (Fast Riding), Mode 2 (Fun Riding) and Mode 3 (Comfortable Riding) with 2 User options for a full custom setup across all of the parameters. Modes can be switched while riding (from the left handlebar switchgear), as can the HSTC level when in User 1 or 2. Power (P) operates through levels 1-5 with 1 giving ultimate outright power. Engine Brake (EB) manages performance on a closed throttle through levels 1-3, with 1 being the strongest engine braking; Wheelie (W) manages through levels 1-3 (plus off) with 1 giving the weakest intervention. Wheelie Control uses information gathered by the IMU on the CBR600RR’s pitch angle, along with front and rear wheel speed sensors to maintain torque and deal with the wheelie without sacrificing forward drive. A standard-fit quick shifter delivers razor-fast changes, with short fuel cut time while shifting, and smoother torque pickup after shifting. It offers 3-level adjustment for feel.
Tumblr media
3.3 Chassis - Twin-spar aluminium frame, aluminium swingarm - 41mm Showa Big Piston USD forks  - Bosch 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) - Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) - Four-piston, radial-mount front brake calipers and floating discs For this latest incarnation of the CBR600RR Honda’s development engineers picked through the bike, front to back, looking for weight savings with performance enhancement to complement the addition of a Bosch 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (rather than 5-axis of the 21YM model) to the electronic package. The updated IMU is key to the bike’s ability to build speed and measures every dynamic aspect, in each plane, calculating 100 times a second using Honda’s own algorithm and in turn managing the HSTC and Cornering ABS, which is a new technology applied to the 24YM CBR600RR. It’s 2.5kg lighter than the ‘Combined-ABS’ electronic system of the previous design and employs a Nissin ABS modulator and ECU – which takes input from the IMU and deceleration and slip rate from the front/rear wheel speed sensors to manage brake pressure in a straight line and while cornering. Rear Lift Control is also a new feature, and again uses IMU input to maximise braking performance while minimising rear wheel lift. At the heart of the chassis is a hollow, die-cast twin-spar aluminium frame. Wheelbase is set at 1370mm, with rake of 24 o 06’ and 100mm trail. Length from swingarm pivot to rear wheel spindle is 569mm; the aluminium swingarm is also 150g lighter than the previous model, with each part redesigned to save weight but also to give the desired rigidity balance. Kerb weight is set at 193kg. Fully adjustable Showa 41mm Big Piston USD forks offer high-quality suspension reaction and control. They’re also 15mm longer in the legs to allow flexible geometry changes. The fully adjustable Showa rear shock operates through Unit Pro-Link. Up front, dual radial-mount four-piston calipers clamp 310mm floating discs; a radial-piston master cylinder is also standard fit. A rear, single-piston caliper works a 220mm disc. Cast aluminium wheels wear 120/70ZR17M/C  front and 180/55ZR17M/C rear tyres. A Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) – designed exclusively for the CBR600RR – operates relative to velocity and is ECU-controlled; at lower speeds its main valve opens, reducing damping force. At high speed the valve closes, increasing damping force for maximum stability.
Tumblr media
3.4 Styling & Equipment - Best in class aerodynamic performance - Winglets generate downforce to enhance front tyre grip - Full colour TFT screen While it’s a stunning looking motorcycle, the CBR600RR’s styling also provides two performance upgrades: as a fully equipped road bike, the lowest Coefficient of Drag in class, at 0.555 (with rider in a racing tuck), and winglets to improve corner entry stability and turning ability while accelerating. A guiding phrase used by Honda’s development team for the bodywork was ‘Embody the functional design in pursuit of high-speed on-track performance.’ Everything learnt producing the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, and before it the MotoGP-derived RC213V-S, was applied with a focus on the mass centralisation of form. As a result, the sharp, super-compact LED headlights, indicators and ABS modulator are lighter compared to the previous design. The riding position too has been made deliberately flexible for road and track; the fuel tank cover sits 10mm lower, allowing the rider to tuck in neatly at high speed. It’s also slimmer and designed to allow the rider’s arms to also have a natural place at speed. The screen sits at a 38°, to maximise aerodynamic efficiency relative to any position the rider might use on track. Seat height is set at 820mm. Radiator cooling efficiency is focus of the mid-section of the fairing, and airflow speed and pressure into the front wheel housing has been optimised for both flow in and out. The lower fairing extends close to the rear wheel and is shaped to move airflow downwards. This reduces the amount of direct air pressure exposure against the tyre, reducing overall resistance. The winglets generate downforce – maintaining front tyre load – on corner entry as the rider leans in and releases the front brake. And overall cornering stability is improved, as is corner speed. Carefully designed, the winglets do not interfere with the bike’s handling agility, with the vertical shaping suppressing the development of vortices. A full colour TFT screen includes Street, Circuit and Mechanic modes. A Shift-Up indicator uses 5 white horizontal LEDs above the central display and turn on and flash at the pre-set rpm for shifting. Information available also includes lap time, number of laps and fastest lap. Lighting is LED. The dual front headlights are lightweight in design and allow the optimal intake area for the central ram-air duct. Honda’s Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) is linked to the ABS modulator and activates the front and rear indicators under sudden, hard braking to warn other road users. Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) uses interlock control between the ID tag in the key and internal ID of the engine ECU so there’s no way to start the engine without the key. A red LED on the dash flashes every 2.5 seconds for 24 hours once the ignition is off and even when it stops flashing, HISS is still on. A small final detail to note - the CBR600RR wears its racing DNA in the shape of Honda’s signature wing on its fuel tank cover – exactly the same as the RC213V-S.

Tips On How To Maintain Your Bike And Motorcycle Fairing Kits
It doesn’t matter if you have purchased your bike on a whim or to become a serious driver. It doesn’t matter whether you have picked red or black Honda motorcycle fairings. It doesn’t matter if you take the bike out once a month, or once a day. What matter is that if you have purchased a bike then you need to make sure that you take really good care of it. Here are some tips on how you can take care of not only your motorbike, but also the motorcycle fairing kits that you might have added:
The first and most basic way of maintaining your bike would be to keep it clean – whether you choose to take it professional cleaners every time or use water, soap and rags to do the job yourself, that is up to you. However, it would be wise to make an occasional trip to the professionals, because they will be able to ensure a more thorough cleaning.
While you might have checked out the snazziest BMW motorcycle fairings, ensuring that the oils are changed out on a regular basis is far more important. Same goes for the air filters, because those too will need regular cleaning and it might be done better by professionals.
Another important aspect of your bike are the tyres and while the Suzuki motorcycle fairings might reduce the drag on the bike, perhaps elongating the life of the tyres, you do need to make sure that they are checked on a regular basis. Also, as soon as suggested by an experienced mechanic, you will also want to change them out.
Finally, given that your Kawasaki fairing kits will give you an increase in speed, the role of the brakes will become all the more important. It is imperative that you get your brakes checked regularly. If you are looking for the best fairing kits for your bike, then AuctMarts is THE place for you – best quality for the best rates!
