Hometown Cha Cha Cha Episode 15 recap: Gongjin is Dusik's hero

Hometown ChaChaCha Episode 15 is left off with Doha’s punch to Dusik who continues to scream at him for killing his father who’s now in a vegetative state. Dusik turns away then Hyejin catches him and he tells her glumly the truth before heading to his house. Dusik now in a emotional and terrible state decided to take pills to sleep.

The next day the village seem to be busy with their businesses with Dusik nowhere in sight. This goes to show that Dusik’s assistance to all of them has been a great advantage. Though they all know that they’re worried about him and that they couldn’t reach him. The village has full trust and faith in him and they know that Dusik would never do such a thing. Things turned chaotic but all of them hope that Dusik is doing well. Gamri who also is concerned prepared a meal and delivered it to his house quietly. Hyejin is at her clinic reflecting on what Dusik has told her and continues to do her business.

Doha and Seonghyeon talks quietly about the incident at work. Doha revealed that his father used to work as a security guard at YK Asset Management a few years ago. At that time, Dusik was the fund manager. Dusik convinced his father do invest in a fund that he managed.  

Doha’s tells a story of his father who worked as a security guard at YK Asset Management several years back. Du-Sik was a fund manager back then and convinced him to invest in a risky fund. Doha’s father is quiet naive, really naive that he retrieved his security deposit and took out a loan as well. He lost everything when Benjamin Holdings went down, stock prices plummeted internationally and so his funds which caused him to commit suicide. Now Dusik may be the perpetrator but who knew that the business would turn out the way it did? It isn’t entirely his fault. Doha was also there to first hand experience his father’s death. When he woke up he started working at the company he’s in now. Doha couldnt believe that he’ll meet Dusik as if its ill-fated for them to meet. Another surprising story is mentioned, Doha tells Seonghyeon that Dusik’s boss has died too in a car accident. This ended up Seonghyeon in shock. At night, Hyejin starts researching online about Dusik’s previous life and continues to reflect the truth of what Dusik has told her. They continue to not see each other. A flashback of Seonghyeon and SeonA at a hospital when SeonA’s husband passed away while editing a video that has Dusik on it brings out his frustration.

Dusik continues to be no show and Gamri continues to send him food at his front door. She even surprisingly stop by at Hyejin’s clinic with food. Gamri tells her that she stopped by home everyday to bring food which hasn’t been touched and sounding worried that he’s probably a complete mess. Seashore production team continues to edit the videos and they think that they should go back to Gongjin to film some more. The village continues to be in a mess without Dusik.The town has been looking for Ijun which he was eventually found by Bora. He ran away because he doesnt want to see his parents cry from happiness when he hears about them being together again. What a mature young boy. All he wants is for them to live together under the same roof and enjoy their moments together. This moment teared me up. Poor young man, he only wanted his family to be together. Even Bora started crying too.

With the families wanting to be together, Hyejin finally stops by Dusik’s home who we see is wearing all black as a symbolic statement of his emotional state. He finally share s his thoughts and talks to Hyejin about his past. That’s been a long time coming. I feel like all of what’s happened finally made Dusik had the courage to reveal the truth.

Dusik tells her that he knows a man named Park Jeongu who happens to  be good friends with him as a freshman. As time went on the 2 became close automatically since they live together. He tells her that it was him who convinced Dusik to work at the company. At the time he joined, he was the current fund manager. He was convinced that being a fund manager promises people hope that they can become rich and eventually took the job. He was enjoying the job at the beginning then he met Doha’s father. He met him everyday like a Gongjin neighbor and they became close. One day, he told me he wanted to subscribe at his fund, The trust fund he was managing. Dusik tells him otherwise although the father was very adamant. See it wasn’t entirely Dusik’s fault. In the end, accepting this proposition ended Doha’s father in shambles after Benjamin Holdings went bankrupt. It was then the root cause of the stocks to drop. Doha’s father tells Dusik to subscribe to a fund which he admit didnt know anything about it and just trusted a employee. Man, Doha’s father is naive. Though Dusik gave him hope that once the dust settles everything will be recovered. In the end, Dusik continues to blame himself. Then there’s news that the security guard who is Doha’s dad committed suicide. In all honestly, im still mind-boggled as to why Doha is blaming Dusik when it really wasn’t his fault. It was all just bad timing that things went down in business and it’s beyond his control. Dusik left work and is scrambles to even go to his car. Jeongu was able to see him before leaving and tells him not to drive at the state he’s in.

The incident led Jeongu and Dusik in a accident which was caused by a truck. Once the story was done, Hyejin starts to comfort Dusik and tells him that he can be sad whenever he's with her. He doesn't have to hold it all in. Dusik eventually broke down in tears while Hyejin continues to give him warmth.

The next day, Seashore production especially Seonghyeon and Doha returns to Gongjin. Seonghyeon tells him that them going to Gongjin was meant to be and revealed to Doha that Dusik's boss is his brother-in-law. Seonghyeon also tells him that he may not be able to empathize with him that much it must be hard for Dusik to handle the aftermath of everything too. This guy. The whole thing was a cause of bad luck for everyone.

Late at night, Doha shows up at Dusik's place uninvited. Dusik who is surprised to see him as Doha continues to speak his mind. He wonders how Dusik was living and assumed if he's still shameless or continuing to cause pain to others. Doha even admitted after the incident he led a good life despite being poor at the beginning. Another flashback of Dusik kneeling down infront of Doha's mother revealing to her that he sold everything he owned, in order to help his family with the stock controversy. Doha also revealed that he just wanted to blame someone for his father's death and ofcourse the only person to blame is the person who contacted his father last.

Now Doha and Dusik finally had the moment, Dusik finally wears the suit Jeongu gave him and meets up with SeonA and her nephew. Dusik and SeonA's nephew officially meets for the first time since he was a baby. Asking if he still likes dinousours. This made Dusik emotional especially after the nephew asking him why he's crying. At the beach, Dusik and SeonA continues to talk. SeonA tells him that Seonghyeon is his cousin and that he has mentioned Dusik to her. It's definitely a small world. SeonA also promises herself that she doesnt want to resent Dusik anymore. She tells him to find it in his heart to forgive himself too. With this, Jeongu appears as a vision from Dusik's subconsciousness. Tears continue to stream down Dusik's face as Jeongu tells him to move on from everything and to live his life once again.

Dusik and Hyejin continues to talk once again. We see see him in a hospital gown at the height of his depression at Han River. He thought of ending his life until he sees Gamri's text stating that she's in Seoul. Gamri is the reason and savior of Dusik from stopping himself to do what he's about to do. That's why he continues to look out for her and Gongjin. Gamri and Gongjin has saved his life and hence giving back to the town once he came back.

A small reveal came out that Hyejin has once seen Dusik when he was in Seoul. It's the moment that every person Dusik meets is ill-fated from the very start.

Now after learning everything its Hyejin's turn to be Dusik's hero too.

Late at night, the ladies of Gongjin had a sleepover while Gamri who looked like she has enjoyed her life fell asleep. I had inkling on how this will turn out. She was found the next morning immobile. Oh no.

Definitely a turning point of a episode. It's also the drama's best episode and acting by Kim Seonho yet. We entirely see why Dusik acts the way he does and why he continuously helps the town. Applauding the production for writing a well written male lead character. With 1 episode left, excited to see how they'll close the show.

처음 뵙게 된 스타트업부터 지금까지 제가 가장 좋아하는 작품인 고향차차차까지 연기력이 정말

대단하십니다. 평소에 무거운 드라마를 잘 안 보는 편인데,

현실이 이미 그 자체로 무거워지는 것 같은 느낌이 들 때가 있어요.

또한 배우/여배우는 때때로 나에게 효과적이지 않습니다.

하지만 당신의 연기는 나에게 매우 현실적입니다.

스타트업을 보고 정말 나쁜 세컨드 리드 신드롬을 앓았던 사람 중 한 명입니다.

From Start Up, which was the first time I saw you up to Hometown Chachacha, which is my favorite project of yours so far, you acting talent is very remarkable. I don’t usually watch heavy drama because sometimes I feel like real life is already heave in itself. Also the actor/actress sometimes to me is not effective. But your acting is very real to me. I am one of those who really had a bad second lead syndrome after watching Start Up. I’m like.... “What is wrong with the world? So the nice guys really don’t get their love interest.”

And Hometown Chachacha is a whole new battlefield. The emotions in Episode 15 was so real to me and I would say that you and the rest of the cast really did a good job! Kudos to all of you.

Actor Mr. Kim, I heard you are a very hardworking person. I mean of course it’s true with your wide array of remarkable works from theatre to tv and soon to be big screen. Can you please give me tips on how to be hardworking as well? I hate myself right now for being too lazy. What is wrong with me? 

인생에서 하고 싶은 일에 대한 계획은 많지만 지금까지 안정적인 현실로 이어진 것은 아무것도 없었다.

때로는 너무 많은 좌절이 있다는 생각이 들기도 합니다. 지금 이대로 다리 부상으로 뒤로 물러나고 있다.

솔직히 작은 일이지만 때로는 짜증이납니다.

I have lots a plans on what I want to do with my life, but so far nothing turned into stable reality. Sometimes I also feel that there’s just too many setbacks. Like this one right now, I am being set back by my leg injury. It’s just a small thing to be honest, but sometimes it feels annoying.

정말 밝은 면을 봐야 하지 않을까요? 나는 요즘 나의 축복을 세는 것을 잊었을지도 모른다.

I should really look on the brighter side of things right? I might have forgotten to count my blessings nowadays. It’s hard to count when you feel impatient about the speed of things.

I am not sure if this is also applicable to you. But in case it would help, when you feel down or defeated, try to count your blessings and I am also doing the same. We can both work on that. Or maybe I need to work on it more than you. It’s ok. I have so much to learn.

hometown chachacha spoilers!!!! i repeat. spoilers😡!!! dont read anymore if u havent watched episode 15!!!😡😡😡😡 ok ummmm i dont get why everyone blames dusik for any of what happened 🤨 how is it his fault these people died…. that man killed himself. and the car accident was literally just that. An accident!!!! like i really am not sure if its the scriptwriters fault that im not getting this or is it korean culture like does this really happen….. how can you blame someone’s death on somebody else like that 😦 idk to me its really inhumane like dusik is not a killer…!?!!!!!!!?!!! Nonsense

semenjak kondisi kesehatan alm ayah menurun setahun terakhir sebelum kepergiannya, saya dan ibu turut menginap di rumah sakit. rumah sakit tipe C berada cukup dekat dari rumah sekitar 1km. tapi ibuk tidak tega membiarkan saya tidur di rumah sendirian. ibuk menjaga di rumah sakit sepanjang hari, pulang sebentar jika ada perlu bergantian dengan saya. saya, berada di sana sore hari sepulang dari kerja hingga pagi. begitu seterusnya.

kadang saya jadi hafal perawat yang jaga di kamar ayah :D yang tidak kalah konyol (kalau boleh bilang begitu), saya sering menghabiskan makanan ayah yang tidak habis, biasanya snack yang jadi incaran. keponakan yang menjenguk berasa playground di kamar rawat inap. main sana-sini wkwk.

kalau dipikir-pikir, saya ada di sana jika saat jam istirahat saja. saya jadi merasa kecewa dengan diri sendiri belum bisa merawat dengan baik. apalagi pasca opname. kalau diingat-ingat lagi, rasanya ada harapan-semangat kalau ke rumah sakit untuk berobat. inhale-exhale. saya tidak tahu tulisan ini akan berakhir seperti apa T_T.

pasalnya, belakangan ini saya nonton drama korea Hospital Playlist 1 & 2, Hometown chachacha (episode 15 yang bikin sesenggukan sepanjang drama dan awal episode 16), sedang baca buku Malala (bagian dia dioperasi tracheotomy dan dipindahkan ke Queen Elizabeth). obrolan mereka terasa hangat, menyentuh, banyak "oh-iya-ya". jadi mellow mengingat masa-masa ngerawat ayah. i'm triggered and ended up crying.

sebelum benar-benar tidak bisa menelan sesempurna mungkin, saya sempat hampir ingin marah. ayah kenapa sih tidak bisa makan atau bicara sulit sekali T_T bodohnya saya tidak tahu itu gejala stroke. i didn't know what to do. saya menunggu keesokan harinya dibawa ke rumah sakit tipe C lain yang lebih lengkap fasilitasnya. sorenya saya tawarkan mau makan apa? mau nasi goreng gak yah? ayah mengangguk. itu adalah makan nasi terakhir (sekitar 7-10 hari terakhir sebelum kematian).

di rumah sakit ini, cukup banyak hal yang membuat saya berpikir lebih, bertindak lebih, macam-macam. dari yang hal sepele pilih kamar rawat inap, siapa merawat ayah, dlsb. saya dan ibuk tidur di rumah sakit seperti yang lalu, makan snack jatah ibuk, mandi-salat-tidur di rumah sakit. sampai ayah boleh dibawa pulang dengan pakai NGT. yaa disinilah saya mulai tambah bingung tapi akhirnya tetap dibawa pulang sore hari.

harapan dibawa pulang kondisi membaik itu tidak berpihak pada kami. esoknya, kami bawa ayah ke rumah sakit tipe B di kabupaten. setelah beberapa jam, ayah dipindahkan ke ICU-non bedah. hilang kesadaran. di sana selama 3 hari 2 malam. anehnya, saat diumumkan kematian, saya sempat tidak percaya dan tidak menangis kencang. baru sepersekian detik, saya menangis sejadi-jadinya. sepertinya saya menyimpan sedih itu dalam hati. sesekali saya terngiang-ngiang celetukan ayah kepada kakak ipar atau ibuk, "aku kok gak ditambakno Lia, se?" (re:aku kok tidak dibawa Lia berobat?), "arek iku ngkok sakno" (re:kasihan nanti anak itu).

istirahat dalam damai, ya, yah. aku berdoa sama Allah agar selalu jaga ayah dan ibuk. doakan aku juga ya, yah. insyaAllah aku gak apa-apa sama ibuk. Al Fatihah.

adhd is real

i get attached to stuffs easily sometimes its easy for me to pick up a skill a little too fast but i also lose interest in the same speed(maybe this is what newton was talking about?) like i stareted a big crochet project that took a week with almost 5 hours a a day,its 95% done but i just cant continue anymore

most people i meet as an adult have already put the narrative of real love doesn’t exist in a actually very young age and sometimes i too think love true love or whatever is just fake,,,but thanks to hometown chachacha being a reminder that love will find you at the right time and you’ll find love at the right time.also shoutout to this drama for highlighting the phase of healing from past traumas before committing to the person who would stay with us regardless of how far we have healed from it.

Memaafkan Diri Sendiri

Walau mudah menangis, aku bukan termasuk orang yang akan terlihat habis menangis saat habis menangis. Tapi karena episode 15 hometown chachacha, sepertinya besok pagi mataku akan bengkak. Mendengar soundtrack Wish oleh Choi Yuree yang diputar di lima menit awal saja sudah membuatku berderai-derai.

Tiap orang punya kesulitannya masing-masing. Kalo mereka nggak cerita bukan berarti mereka sedang nggak kesulitan. Kadang memang nggak perlu berpura-pura karena nggak ada juga yang bertanya.

Hanya saja, manusia yang sedang dalam sudut pandang orang pertama pelaku utama seringkali ingin melihat dari sudut pandang orang ketiga serbatahu. Ingin melihat kejadian apa yang akan terjadi pada pelaku utama, alih-alih melakukan sesuatu. Reaktif.

Sebenarnya dari orang lain biasanya akan memunculkan banyak hikmah. Aku betul-betul rindu deep talk sampai lewat tengah malam dan mengantuk karenanya. Hanya saja memang aku merasa sulit memunculkan keberanian untuk memulai.

Nggak memaafkan orang lain saja membuat hati jadi sesak. Padahal nggak tau juga bagaimana perasaan orang tersebut. Bisa saja dia biasa saja. Seakan-akan meneguk racun tapi berharap orang lain yang mati. Tapi, nggak memaafkan diri sendiri nyatanya lebih menyakitkan. Hati jadi sesak karena membenci, sekaligus sedih karena dibenci.

Sebelum semuanya, bijaksana bila bisa memulai dari memaafkan diri sendiri.
