well, i'm definitely not going to forget everything i said. but i will forget things. because that's just a thing i do. i am forgetful. but not "i'm at the start of a time loop" forgetful.
so i can do that for you, however many days it takes. and while maybe i don't know what time loops are actually like, i know exactly what it feels like to be alone. alone for years. alone with nothing to do and no one new to see.
so yeah. i've zoned out with people. maybe i shouldn't have? but what else do you do when nothing ever changes?
ok! while you're doing those increasingly impossible things, what do you like to do for fun? there has to be fun. you said something about moving statues, is that a thing you do? :o
Oh I uh..
Tumblr media
Actually I could. Definitely use a friend right about now, yeah. I just. Don't want to drag anyone further into this then I have to, than is safe for them, you know? But having someone to talk to, especially someone on the outside who isn't going to. Forget everything I said every two blinding days? That. Really helps.
I love my friends here, don't get me wrong but it. Gets hard hearing them say the same things over and over. Hard not to space out. Hard to see much point in responding. It won't last anyway. You know..?
You're right too. The king broke the system already after all, timecraft isn't even supposed to be possible - It's supposed to kill anyone who tries. If he can pull that off, and whatever caused the timeloops can. Cause that. There has to be some way of stopping it too, right? Only thing that makes sense..

What Homestuck is About
I don’t remember writing this, I never finished writing this, and I just found it in my drafts. If you asked me today to come up with what homestuck is about I would not be able to go into this level of detail at all. here you go.
the post;
As told by someone who hasn’t read Homestuck.
Before I begin, lets go over my Homestuck experience. At some point in like 2010 probably people got obsessed with zodiac symbols for some reason, and also candy corn horns. I saw them around and they did not affect me in any way. A few years ago I was commissioned to draw Homestuck fanart, I was linked a video of nonsense about some dude who controlled planets with his veins maybe. This was for inspiration for the drawing. I drew fanart, they liked it. After that happened I found out that I had been drawing other Homestuck fanart by commission, about a green planet or something, this was a surprise to me. I found this strange, told my friend who liked Homestuck and he told me to read it. I read the first few pages and got bored, I am sorry to your fandom, it just wasn’t my thing. What was my thing, was reading random-ass theories about Homestuck and looking at fanart as it came on my dashboard.
Now, with that in mind, here is what Homestuck is about...
Homestuck is a webcomic about 4 teenagers, Dave, Rose, Karkat (Online handle?) and Egbert. Egbert and Rose are the same age, they are friends by convenience but don’t have a lot in common. Dave is Egbert’s cool older brother who is also an asshole sometimes but only to hide his fragile ego. Karkat is a loner type who is sarcastic. Rose has a crush on Karkat but they have never met in person. Rose is also very sarcastic, but hers is more mean spirited while Karkat is just defensive with a kind heart.
Karkat is way more into videogames than the rest of them, and ends up being the ‘leader’ of the group, ironically as most of her motivation is to be alone. However, Rose likes her, so she follows Karkat’s lead with regards to what games they play online, Egbert follows Rose because he doesn’t have other friends, Dave has to keep an eye on his little brother so follows them on their adventures reluctantly (but slowly learns to be part of the group). The first story arc establishes the characters and the world. The viewer interacts with these characters through the occasional videogame interface but mostly a webcomic format. The characters are very meta and self aware which is funny without getting into too much action before...
Suprise plot twist Karkat realizes they have been playing a game copy of their own lives within a webcomic/web-game thing. We find out later that she suspected this all along and only wanted to be alone because she thought everyone else was a simulation.
Almost immediately Dave thinks that this plot twist is stupid, and the meta commentary on Homestuck itself reaches new sarcastic heights. The fandom takes this idea and runs with it, causing many fans to insist that Homestuck sucks.
When they break into ‘reality’ Karkat is shocked to find that the other three have come as well. Thus begins her overarching subplot of learning to trust others and believing she can fall in love with Rose. Karkat and Rose question still if this reality is really the real one. Spoiler: It isn’t. While they try to discover the why and how of their situation Egbert is busy altering the code of the game to give himself insane powers and become ‘god tier.’ Dave is doing stuff to, but I think it’s mostly just fucking off and making jokes.
There are monsters called trolls with candy-corn-horns at some point, but I’m lead to believe that they aren’t actually a big part of the story even though they are widely loved by fans. They probably happen early on in the story which is why they are fairly iconic for the series. The trolls are sentient too, each represents a sign of the zodiac, and each main character has a troll that is ‘them’ in an alternate game reality. So there are 4 trolls that represent the main characters, and this is symbolic somehow especially when you think about the 8 trolls who have no ‘main character’ components.
Insane Clown Posse is involved somehow but I don’t understand if they are plot relevant or just a joke that the comic creator likes to fall back on.
So anyway, eventually all the characters go god tier, they have to figure out their own personal way to get there and I bet it is really plot heavy and long. They can control the base code of the game, and they all start fighting with one another.
The plot gets really huge in scope, as they find that their simulated reality

“Describe homestuck” is a weird question, because you can describe the overarching plot but not the weird branches it shoots off into
Like, “Homestuck is about a reality altering video game that comes about at the end of every world that, if beaten, allows the players to become gods of the next world. we follow four kids from our world who play it, the aliens from the previous game that made our world, and a ‘reboot’ game that comes about when ours fails.”
And then someone asks about how the fuck Betty Crocker plays into it and you don’t fucking know how to answer without a goddamn essay

Why John Egbert Is An Example of an Epic Hero
In English class, we are discussing Epics and what makes a hero an Epic hero or not. Then, we had to choose a character from a film or literature and explain why they are an example of an Epic hero. I chose John Egbert. Down below this is exactly what I turned in to my teacher. (this was also a Quick Write so we had only a limited time to do it, in this case like 10 minutes) This Youtube video is the main part of the criteria I was using to argue, along with other characteristics I explain at the end that an Epic hero must have.
I believe that John Egbert from Homestuck is an example of an Epic Hero. At the beginning of the story, he finds a video game disc for a game called “Sburb”, that he’s never heard of before. (this game ultimately leads to the end of the world for everyone but the players). This is his mysterious invitation to adventure. He starts to play Sburb with his friends, and he discovers that it actually alters things in real life when he builds or fights, and it is no longer just a game. This is him crossing into an unfamiliar adventure world, where he is literally adventuring like he’s playing a video game. He does not understand much about how this new game/real-life reality works, and he has to get help from his friend Rose to understand what he has to do. This is him getting help from someone wiser. From then on, monsters start appearing in his house, and he has to fight them to survive and to continue the game. This is him being a hero and fighting monsters. Then, aliens start playing Sburb with John and Rose, but they have the power to talk to people at any point in time via computer messages, and get John’s friends to save him because he had just been killed by a monster, but they are able to tell Rose before it happens in her timeline so she can save him. This is John dying or almost dying but coming back. John, his friends, and the aliens continue playing Sburb, and eventually, John is strong enough to fight the boss of his world. This is him fighting a big challenge; the big boss. After this, John becomes godlike in his world and gains many powers. This is his treasure. After this, he has finished the game and can try to return to his normal life. Finally, his “status quo” is now him being a god in this new world that has nobody but him, his friends, and the alien players of Sburb. His super-human power is being strong enough to fight the monsters, and being one of the only survivors of the game. He is brave, because he was able to take on the monsters. His status quo before the story was just being a fairly normal kid. Sburb itself could be considered his patron, because through that he receives the power and tools needed to advance and become strong. His mentor could be considered to be Rose because she helped John figure out how to start playing Sburb and leveling up. He could be considered important because he is one of the only people in the world left alive after the apocalypse the game started.
