The Healing Power of Nature for Better Health – a Concise Guide to Naturopathy!
If you like the idea of relying on the healing power of nature, you may want to explore naturopathy.
Naturopathy began in Germany and spread throughout the nineteenth century.
Benedict Lust, one of its founders, opened the first known health food store in New York City in 1895, selling vegetables, fruit, and homeopathic medicines.
Today, naturopathy still emphasizes self-healing and favors the least invasive forms of treatment.
Read more: How to Stay in Shape Without Expensive Remedies?
Take a quick look at the benefits of naturopathy and how to make them work for you.
What are the Benefits of Naturopathy?
Live healthy. Keeping yourself in good condition is the essence of naturopathy. Eat whole foods, exercise regularly, manage stress, and sleep well.
Coordinate your treatment. You may need conventional care for serious health conditions or any issue that requires prescription drugs or surgery. Keep your whole health team updated so that they can coordinate your care and avoid any harmful interactions.
Take fewer drugs. By viewing drugs as a last resort, you may be able to cut down on the pills you take. That can save you money and reduce the risk of side effects.
Become better educated. Naturopaths believe in teaching. You’ll learn more about good nutrition, positive psychology, and other important subjects.
Address root causes. Many people like the philosophy of going beyond symptoms to tackle root causes and care for the whole person. You may even enjoy more long lasting relief.
Focus on prevention. Prevention is always the best approach. Habits like maintaining your ideal weight can protect you from diabetes and other conditions.
Naturopathic Treatments
Take a bath. Hydrotherapy has a long history in European spas and Native American sweat lodges. Modern research confirms that raising your body temperature boosts your immune system.
Try manipulative therapies. Naturopathy incorporates physical therapies like chiropractic and massage. They’ve been proven highly effective in some cases of back pain and sore muscles.
Consider acupuncture. Acupuncture is another age old therapy that is now widely accepted. Some insurance companies will even help cover your costs.
Receive lifestyle counseling. As mentioned, lifestyle changes play a big role in your health outcomes. Naturopaths can explain the latest research and help you find solutions that you can fit into your daily routine.
Additional Tips
Check credentials. Qualifications vary widely. Some states have licensing and educational requirements while others do not. Keep in mind that the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education is the only agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Understand the scope of practice. Naturopaths who are not also medical doctors may be restricted from providing certain types of care. This could include prescribing drugs or delivering babies.
Seek referrals. Ensure your practitioner can provide any referrals you need. Ask them about their network and specialties.
Exercise caution. There are a few controversial issues to keep in mind. Whatever else you hear, consult objective sources on the value of childhood vaccinations. You may also need to be careful about extensive fasting or taking specific herbs. Talk with your doctor about any concerns.
Read your insurance policy. Contact your insurer to see if they cover naturopathy or offer a rider that you can purchase for such alternative care. If you need to finance it yourself, talk with your practitioner about ways to save money, like purchasing supplements online.Â
Your body contains a powerful force for self-healing.
Naturopathy may be one element in a combination of treatments that will help you live a longer and healthier life.

End bankruptcy shopping
It looks like the Sacklers are going to get away with it. The multigenerational crime family that kickstarted the opioid epidemic by engineering overprescription of Oxycontin have the blood of 800,000 Americans on their hands and more than $10b in their pockets.
The Sacklers offer a masterclass in how to make and keep a blood-soaked fortune. They are masters of corporate secrecy. They are virtuosos at using philanthropy to launder their reputation. They are the kings of hiring vicious attack-lawyers to intimidate their critics.
They engineered medical disinformation; bribed doctors, pharmacists, and distributors; shifted blame to their victims by calling them “criminal addicts.”
They smuggled billions offshort into financial secrecy havens, including rogue states like Switzerland.
And then, when the bill came due, they engineered a bankruptcy that extinguished all civil liability claims against them, walking away from their obligations to states, cities, patients and families, while clinging to the majority of their money.
The only thing worse than a world with the Sacklers in it would be a world where we learned nothing from the defects in the system that they exploited.
Thankfully, many are taking the lessons of the Sacklers to heart.
Thanks to activists like Anand Giridharadas, we’re wising up to the way that “philanthropy” can be an act of profound selfishness, a way to use homeopathic droplets of a vast, corrupt fortune to wash away its dirty origins.
https://memex.craphound.com/2018/11/10/winners-take-all-modern-philanthropy-means-that-giving-some-away-is-more-important-than-how-you-got-it/
We are rethinking addiction as a public health crisis, not as a moral failing. We’re becoming more critical of billionaires’ use of secrecy to hide their financial crimes, and less willing to tolerate legal bullying from the fixers who enforce that omerta.
There’s one more crack in the system that we musn’t lose track of, one more Sacklerian evil to confront: the bankruptcy system.
When you or I go bankrupt, it ruins our lives. When the ultra-rich go bankrupt, it makes them richer.
That’s all thanks to a handful of elite bankruptcy judges who practice a bizarre form of financial law that favors the wealthy and corrupt over their victims. Judges like Robert Drain of the Southern District of New York.
One thing the Sacklers showed us is how easy it is for the super-rich to ensure that Judge Drain hears their case.
57% of large company bankruptcies are heard by Judge Drain or his chief competitor for elite impunity, Houston’s Judge Marvin Isgur.
https://pluralistic.net/2021/05/23/a-bankrupt-process/#sacklers
Of the remainder, 39% are heard by Houston’s Judge David Jones.
That’s 96% of the nation’s large corporate bankruptcies, presided over by three judges, who all champion the most corrosive form of elite impunity imaginable.
https://pluralistic.net/2021/07/29/impunity-corrodes/#morally-bankrupt
How can it be that nearly every large corporate bankruptcy is heart in either Houston or White Plains, NY? It’s not as though either place is a white-hot center of corporate headquarters. How can the Boston Herald get its bankruptcy heard in Delaware?
Writing for The Hill, Judges Joan Feeney and Steven Rhodes write with Professors Jay Westbrook and Adam Levitin to call for an end to bankruptcy shopping.
https://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/judicial/566729-now-is-the-time-for-bankruptcy-venue-reform?rl=1
They point out that The Boston Herald isn’t based in Delaware  and neither are the Chicago Tribune, LA Dodgers, Nebraska Book Co, Tropicana Las Vegas, or Washington Mutual — but all of them managed to get their bankruptcies heard in Delaware, far from their creditors.
Not all creditors are created equal — if a company owes money to Citibank, moving to Delaware isn’t going to outrun Citi’s lawyers. But when it comes to the workers whose pensions are on the line, or customers who’ve been hurt or ripped off by the company…
“Runaway” bankruptcies shield companies from their hometown press, and require creditors to seek local counsel, not the lawyers they’ve used to pursue the company in its hometown.
In addition to Houston and SDNY, Delaware is a leading enabler of runaways, actively participating in the scam that lets debtors pick their judges.
The authors endorse Rep Zoe Lofgren’s Bankruptcy Venue Reform Act of 2021 (HR 4193), which has bipartisan cosponsorship from Rep Ken Buck, and will require companies to “file bankruptcy where their headquarters or principal assets are located.”
https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/4193
Elite impunity is incompatible with a just society. When rule the law applies differently depending on how powerful you are, it’s not the rule of law any more. Passing HR 4193 won’t cost the US a penny, and will save billions for the victims of corporate crime.

Sex, Drugs, and Rock
The area that is now known as Turkey played a major role in the Mystery Religions. The use of drugs to create "religious" experiences was developed to a fine art by various occult fraternal mystery religion groups in the Turkey area. The Assassins from where we get the word hashish controlled parts of Turkey and Lebanon in Medieval times. They used drugs to gain the allegiance of their recruits. Some of the most powerful figures for the Illuminati have been Turks. The Grand Orient has had some powerful figures in Turkey. For instance, at the Masonic Congress of all the Grand Orients' (that's European Freemasonry- although several American presidents have been members of European Freemasonry) Grand Lodges, Bou Achmed came from Turkey. The Grand Lodge of Asia was represented by Sebeyck-Kadir from Asia. Bou Achmed took a big role in the Grand Orient's decisions.
As an aside, let me explain one example of the power of the Grand Orient in America. The Grand Orient was originally strong in Louisiana but spread itself to many other US. locations. Garfield, a very powerful man in the Grand Orient, managed to become US. President because the political process got deadlocked at the convention and the Masons suggested him as a compromise candidate. Although Garfield was an extremely powerful Mason, had been perhaps the youngest general in the US. Army during the Civil War, the Illuminati ordered him shot after he had served about a year in office as President. Garfield was reported by an eye-witness to Satanic rituals to have participated in the cannibalistic rites of Satanism done to gain the spiritual power of the eaten person. The Grand Orient Freemasonry has been linked to other orders of Freemasonry that are also called Rosicrucians. Pope John XXIII joined a Rosicrucian group that had links to European Freemasonry when he was in Turkey.
While the secret Grand Orient Freemasonry was very strong in Turkey in spite of its small numbers, the regular American Freemasonry granted a dispensation for a Masonic Lodge to operate in Smyrna, Turkey in May, 1863 but the charters were withdrawn on Aug. 27, 1880. However, it is interesting that of all the Turkish cities, Smyrna was definitely the best place for Freemasonry to gain recruits. Men like Achmed Pasha and many of the other Pasha family have been leaders within Freemasonry and the Illuminati. Achmed Pasha was a Satanist and had a large harem. Mehmet Talaat Pasha (1872-1921) was a Freemason and part of the Turkish revolution of 1908. He was the leader of the Young Turks, which was a joint project of the Sufis and the Frankist Satanists. (The type of Satanism led by the Frank family has had connections to Turkey for hundreds of years.) Mehmet Talaat Pasha was the Grand Master of the Grand Orient of Turkey. He was held the political position in Turkey of grand vizier of Turkey (1917-18). Another Turkish Pasha was part of the Turkish royalty running Egypt when Egypt was part of the Ottoman Empire. His name was Khedive Ismail Pasha and he was Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Egypt. It was this Turk, Khedive Ismail Pasha, who gave the famous Obelisk to the United States. This Obelisk was called Cleopatra's Needle and was originally erected in the city of the sun, Heliopolis, about 1500 B.C. The Obelisk is a representation of a human penis, because sun worship, worship of regeneration (sex) and worship of the sun god Satan were all tied together. Masons helped with the moving of the obelisk, and its dedication when it arrived in New York City. Large obelisks have been erected by Masons in New York, Washington D.C., Paris, the Vatican, and London. (If my memory serves me correct Berlin received one too at one time.)" (1)
Notice the importance of Smyrna as a source of Freemasonry here. That is where the Onassis family has operated potion-pushing or altered consciousness drugs for millennia.
Sometimes, when my tiny head is spinning with disinfotainment and other artifacts of the mediasphere, I try to think what archaeologists and social historians 2,000 years from now might make of our particular little epoch. How, for instance, would they parse the word "drug"?
Is a "drug dealer" a pharmacist or a petty criminal? When we talk about "reasonably priced drugs for seniors," are we discussing marijuana or Lipitor {or Levitra}? What would they make of the fact that the last four American administrations have declared a "war on drugs" while taking money from drug companies?
Why is it bad when residents of Colombia build mansions from profits on the sale of drugs, but it's good when residents of Newport, R.I., do the same thing? When one person cannot live without "lifesaving drugs," we express great sympathy, unless that person is a "drug addict," in which case we may even throw him in jail. When a mood-altering drug is sold in pill form in stores, it's called an antidepressant and hailed as a medical breakthrough. When a mood-altering drug is sold on the streets, it's called felony drug trafficking and subject to stiff criminal penalties. see here london tantric
Because we are native speakers of Americanadianese, we can wend our way through the contradictions. We know that the bad drugs are the ones the cause euphoria and impair judgment, unless the drug is alcohol, but that's not ever called a drug, so there's no confusion there. We know that the good drugs are the ones that cure diseases or relieve symptoms, except sometimes the good drugs are ineffective or even counterproductive in achieving those goals.
Street dealers do not finance experimental trials on the effectiveness of the drugs they sell. Drug companies do, but they fudge the results. Street dealers have a small feedback loop because customers can tell pretty quickly whether they're loaded or not. Drug companies have a long feedback loop because human beings can't instantly tell whether their cholesterol is being lowered or their blood thinned or their insulin production stimulated. A drug with a long feedback loop is clearly more profitable than one with a short feedback loop because the dealer can keep an ineffective drug on the shelves much longer.
Interestingly, the people who sell ineffective drugs are generally said to have made "honest mistakes." If a street dealer sold you an ineffective drug, you could take five of your friends and go back and have a brisk conversation with him. If a behind-the-counter dealer sold you an ineffective drug, you'd have to hire a lawyer and file a lawsuit and maybe, maybe, 10 years later you'd get some money, although probably you'd be dead by then.
Street dealers don't have patents on their drugs, which means that they'll always have plenty of competition. Drug companies do have patents, so they can set their prices without worrying about market economics. And when their patents run out, they can put out a drug with a slightly different formulation, promote it like mad and sell the new drug in a monopolistic setting {With government mandated market support in order to manage the 'money-trees' while building bureaucracy.}. You have to wonder when street dealers are going to come up with Cocaine XR or LSD Reditabs.
Since the street dealer works in a competitive atmosphere, he has to keep his prices relatively low. In order to increase his profitability, he can "step on" his product, that is, dilute it. It would be unwise for a drug company to adulterate its product, but since it owns a monopoly, it can set prices artificially high and achieve the same profitability levels. A street dealer who knowingly poisons his clientele is called "the scum of the earth." A drug corporation that knowingly poisons its clientele is called "a tobacco company." People who sell illegal drugs often rot in jail for 20 or 30 years. People who sell legal drugs are often forced to attend tedious daylong board meetings. People who take illegal drugs are called "losers." People who take legal drugs are called "everyone in America."
Glad I'm not an archaeologist in 4040; my brain would ache a whole lot.
One pill makes you larger, and one pill puts you in jail, and please do not operate heavy machinery with the ones that mother gives you. {My ex-roommate was being told to apply for his old job as a forklift truck operator while being given drugs for Schizophrenia which he did not have. He was no liar and could not expose a potential employer to the insurance risks or his fellow employees to the life threat this would entail. Many drugs people use are impairing their driving prowess, and there are laws to take away their license that go unenforced.}
Driving that train, high on ethyl 4-1-piperidinecarboxylate.
Homeopathy:
It is a wonderful thing to have the Joy of Learning and to make a career that you find is related to your studies. There are so many ways to get a Doctor label and thus claim expertise in the many fields and disciplines which we have broken knowledge into. Some of this is counter to real expertise and much of it just sets people apart from knowledge and each other. But people are also being segmented into classes within the hierarchy of government backed by and for elites in all so many ways. Medicine has been one of their more dastardly tools alongside religion. This next little factoid reminds me of how Edward Gibbon almost died because the British Medical system would not approve vaccinations through use of scabs as had been done by the likes of Paracelsus or others in antiquity and which was approved in the France of his era.
"When the Cholera epidemic reached England, it provided another opportunity to compare homeopathic treatment with the conventional methods of the day. Regular allopathic medicine yielded a mortality rate of 59 percent compared to only 16 percent for the Homeopaths. (2) When these statistics were collected, the information was so startling that a medical commission was sent to the London Homeopathic Hospital to check the records. Though the data were duly verified, it was decided not to make them public, and the facts were not released until a hundred years later." (3)
The formation of the American Medical Association is a major issue against alternative healing or real care for people. In the late 19th Century as these issues were becoming apparent there were many who knew that the allopaths or medical doctors selling laudanum and the like were actually the 'Killing-trade'. There are signs that stress management (don't fret - sweat or exercise) and the connectiveness to the 'all' around us are again making a play to be considered in health maintenance. Vitamins and supplements are able to prove to even the most duped person receiving medical care that they work and yet some doctor's groups and the governments that back them still disqualify doctors who advise their usage.
Academics are subject to a 'Knowledge Filter' (Berkeley Law Professor - Johnson) or Literary Theory (UBC English Professor Graham Good) and the outright suppression of creative or thoughtful and meaningful potentials. (4) The concept of Bucky Fuller called 'the observer of the observed' and his more detailed 'creative realization' is part of what operates as we 'project' upon reality. For example the things we see are actually a mixture of fields of energy from the dross and less excited to the highly excited or vibrational energy inside the atomic structures. One way of visualizing this includes an aura, which is the field of energy not usually visible but associated with the solar body and integrative centers called chakras. Perhaps we could contemplate a time when all people had the ability to see or sense auras. In our socially normed 'projections' that include telling our children certain things do not exist, we have lost the conscious integration or incorporation of these fields of reality.
Psychic surgeons in the Philippines and Brazil have had their energy measured during operations at the same vibration rate of 7.8 cycles. It started me thinking about how we can alter our state and how others might perceive us in these altered states. Clearly if anyone could see all the spaces between our electrons and the nuclei or between the different atoms and molecules we wouldn't seem solid by a long shot. Thus these surgeons who use no utensils would be able to energize the infected or diseased body part or tumor to remove it at an altered vibration level. There have been solid documentaries with such credible support as X-rays before a San Francisco businessman had such a tumor removed and X-rays a year later showing it hadn't returned. In the end you must decide who has the most to gain from the arguments and whether or not you want to actualize your own potential. Once you do a few things the debunkers say are impossible - then a smile will come to your face; and the intellectual conflict loses all import.
String Theory knows about the harmonic forces that are less than solid which somehow combine to make what we perceive as a solid. The astrophysicists now have told us that 95% of the universe is 'Dark Matter' or 'Dark Energy' - so get with it before you are invisible and don't know it! Just kidding! We fear that which we cannot fully comprehend and our experts or priests and doctors include many enablers of our fears. We even allow fear to pre-empt love; which is ironic because at the end of our lives it's not the fears or the differences that matter the most but whether we loved and allowed ourselves to be loved as much as possible.
"Every new perception of knowledge is always based either directly or indirectly on older knowledge. InteliTapping allows us to connect with the oldest, yet most complete source of knowledge." (5)
Nature produced a show on the origins of music and the biological and archetypal impact it has had on our evolution and emotional wherewithal. Along with reed instruments from as long ago as 60,000 years that obviously show sophisticated development of technology, they had the cave operas of those who rubbed and drummed on stalactites. They posited that the tree-swinging hominid that like the Sumatran Gibbon co-ordinates community for protection through territorial chants, is not so much less aware as most of our great Lockean influenced academics seem to be. These animals also learned what plants are dangerous and what plants alter your spiritual consciousness. You can see it when your puppy goes outside for the first time and chews on some grass to settle its tummy. Our genes contain a lot of information or the ability to tap-in to much knowledge. The buzz you get from 'weed' is the buzz coming from your Thalami and Third Eye or Pineal gland that has a crystal radio receiver and grains or crystalline structures. Crystalline structures like quartz were known to be useful in the Lost Chord of the Druids and more ancient shamans. There are magnificent quartz caves in Central America and other places that would have been used by early hominids for a certainty.
The Best Body Language - Sex:
Long before Tantra or Bhakti Yoga there were many things ancients probably learned from intercourse, even more than most people do today. Today we have drugs like Viagra to enhance the longevity of the sexual encounter. The Mayans have natural drug for this. There are so many things which keep us busy or deflect us from spiritual insight as is noted in many Eastern systems which refer to the 'busy-mind' or samsara and the illusion of Maya.
Second degree Wiccan students who have advanced through a rigorous training in esoteric knowledge begin a quest that many would regard as perverse pursuit of pleasure and self-gratification. The partners are often involved in other committed relationships. When a man and a woman who are interested in spiritual growth combine to experience the Tantric or Bhakti (Yoga) or ritualistic growth potential to free more than just their personal self or ego to reach the heights of spiritual or psychic possibilities; who can say what is real and what is imagined. This effort to commune with spirit is termed 'working partners' and the allies or guides is who they really seek to merge or work with. The imagination is undoubtedly a part of the dynamic. It isn't necessary for them to care for each other in the way lovers do. I have not done this 'work'.
Many people talk about 'soulmates' or 'dual flames' and the words become mere shadows of the real potential. At the same time sex is a dirty 'word', and act, in much of society.
What can a writer say to convey the essence of all these things?
If I absolve myself from the challenge of integrating these concepts, rituals and soulful realities I would simply say trust your soul and know that wherever you may go you will find something more than whatever you thought was real to begin with.
If I talk about 'la petite mort' or empathic attunements with the soul of the partner that allows the self to disintegrate and become part of something larger than one person; and almost dissolve in the vastness of spirit - it will only seem like prose and poetry. The phrase 'la petite mort' or 'the little death' can in fact lead to a Kundalini type experience which can cause death.
Of course, one can wax eloquent and carry on at length about any of their hopes and desires. The essence of a great working partner most probably has little to do with these aspirations and more to do with the way the soul interpenetrates all people. The glimpses of insight gained through empathy and love with those who shared my needs are special to me and will forever stay in the part of my soul (if there is such a part) that cherishes all we were and hungers for what we could have been.
To deprecate the witch who 'draws down the moon' into their partner on the path to worship of things no one can fully know is the stuff of fearful and insecure people. That kind of bigotry without actual experience is rampant in all areas of society. It is truly just the tip of the proverbial iceberg when one contemplates all the ways mankind has developed to separate himself from what we are collectively and what god truly wishes for us to realize. No amount of constant seeking or obsession with these pursuits will ever get a man any closer to his soul than what he was while in his mother's womb.
The joy and creativity of the challenge to know is as great a gift as our maker can give us - except perhaps the acquiescence to the soul within the loved one you are blessed to have the chance to know and share your life with. In the moment of creation each day as we grow and learn to be, we are forever drawn by some force that seeks greater harmony and purpose for all energy.
Many (if not most) people think the 24 hour orgasm is like alien abductions but the EEG and other ways of measuring physical responses would convince them otherwise. A similar number of people find the misuse of Tantric Yoga by the likes of Crowley and Hubbard is tantamount to whatever is evil in man. I say they are right, but that is not the fault of Tantric Yoga. These techniques are very seductive and in some ways the participants would choose to have the experience even if they knew a great deal about it because it is a sad truism that Masters and Johnson or Kinsey are right. They say a full third of women never have an orgasm through intercourse.
Many people seldom enjoy sex and some significant number of the rest of us are in varying stages of poor to decent ability and openness to what great learning sex can provide. It could be said that our sexual relations are a good barometer of the state of society. I favour sex education and all the opportunities and responsibilities that go with the natural and soulful functions of the act. It is easy to understand why some people are hesitant to have strangers teach their loved ones about sex. But Father Leo Booth is right when he notes that parents who repress their children or foist suppressive behavior upon them are just as guilty of abuse.

On June 27, 2018, United States Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced that he was going to retire from the Supreme Court. For those who do not know how the Supreme Court works, the justices are elected to a life long term provided they exhibit “good behavior.” Their terms end by retirement or death. Only one justice has ever been impeached by Congress.
The top pick to fill Justice Kennedy’s seat is Brett Kavanaugh, a member of the Republican party who once served in George W. Bush’s White House. His ruling history shows a bias towards government over individuals claiming rights violations. Consequently, women and Democrats across the country started talking about one of the most polarizing Supreme Court cases of all time: Roe v. Wade. Issued in 1973, the decision in Roe v. Wade made abortion legal in the entirety of the United States. There were still regulations that weren’t resolved or ruled upon until 1992 (Planned Parenthood v. Casey), but abortion was no longer illegal.
The renewed debate brings a new interest in Roe v. Wade, including a new group of people who either have never heard of the case, or don’t know the history behind it. We’re stuck listening to the same ignorant rhetoric for another news cycle.
So, let’s talk about abortion.
Abortion hadn’t always been illegal. For a period of time, it was advertised in magazines and on the radio. Up until the 19th century, abortion was a common occurrence in the newly created United States. Abortion was permissible until a woman felt a fetus move, or “quicken.”  In Leslie Reagan’s book When Abortion Was a Crime: Women, Medicine, and Law in the Unites States 1867-1973, she notes, “the popular ethic regarding abortion and common law were grounded in the female experience of their own bodies.” No one believed that life began at conception, not even the Catholic church.
In fact, it wasn’t the Church that lead the push to ban abortions. It was doctors, seeking to drive out traditional healers (“quacks”). Many home medical guides had recipes for “bringing on the menses” with herbs found in a common garden, or even the woods. Commercial preparations became so common by the mid eighteenth century, the phrase “taking the trade” became a popular euphemism. However, many of these drugs were unregulated and fatal.
The first statues regulating abortion were passed in the 1820’s and 1830’s. These laws were essentially poison-control laws. The sale of commercial abortifacients was banned, but abortions were not. This, like so many other anti-abortion laws to follow, did not deter women from getting abortions. The commercialization of abortion continued, and by the 1840’s, business was booming. Perhaps one of the most famous abortionists, Madame Restell, openly provided abortion services in offices in New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. She had traveling salespeople who touted her “Female Monthly Pills.”
The American Medical Association lead the fight against abortions, attempting to push midwives and homeopaths out as regularly called upon physicians. Moreover, anti-abortion sentiment was also connected to nativism, anti-Catholicism, and anti-feminism. Citing the number of non-Catholic, non-white immigrants, physician and anti-abortion leader Horatio R. Storer is quoted as asking if the West would “be filled by our own children of by those of aliens?” The birth rate among white native-born Protestants had declined, as the typical abortion patient of the time was a middle or upper-class white married woman.
Licensed physicians, including prominent members of the AMA, kept providing abortions. Their issues lay with the homeopathic remedies, not with the practice itself. And despite their own organization calling for it’s end, it remained legal. It’s estimated that some two million abortions were performed in the late nineteenth century, making the per capita rate of abortions seven to eight times higher than today. This was in the era before hospitals, where doctors practiced out of their own offices and on their own terms. Many women sought out doctors who would listen to their needs and work with them. Thus, providing abortions (while sometimes motivated by compassion) was self-serving, as women would continue to see that physician for all other medical issues.
In 1880, laws were passed in every state banning abortions in all but “therapeutic reasons,” which left medical practitioners and the legal system to determine who did or did not have one. As you’d expect, wealthier women with access to doctors had abortions, and poor women bled. Rachel Benson Gold of the Guttmacher Institute says that the stark indication of illegal abortions was the death toll. “In 1930, abortion was listed as the official cause of death in almost 2,700 women – nearly one-fifth of maternal deaths recorded that year.” She notes that, “in New York City in the early 1960s, 1 in 4 childbirth related deaths among white women were due to abortion; in comparison, abortion accounted for 1 in 2 childbirth-related deaths among nonwhite and Puerto Rican women.”
Women of wealth started to leave the country for abortions as other countries legalized the practice. The California based Society for Humane Abortion helped women go as far as Japan to have abortions. In Chicago, a society called “Jane” was founded in the late 1960s, which had a hotline where women could ask for “Jane” to be referred to an illegal abortion. Eventually, members learned how to and performed abortions themselves. These women performed an estimated 11, 000 abortions by 1973.
And then we come to Roe v. Wade.
The facts of the case are this: Roe, a Texas resident, sought to terminate her pregnancy by abortion. Texas law prohibited abortions except to save the pregnant woman’s life. After granting certiorari (an order by which a higher court reviews a decision of a lower court) the Supreme Court heard arguments twice. The main question the Court had to decide on was, “does the Constitution embrace a woman’s right to terminate her pregnancy by abortion?”
By a 7-2 vote in favor, from an all-male Court, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that a woman’s right to an abortion fell within the right to privacy (recognized in Griswold v. Connecticut) protected by the Fourteenth Amendment (ratified in 1868, defines national citizenship and forbids the states to restrict the basic rights of citizens or other persons). The decision gave women total autonomy over the pregnancy during the first trimester and defined different levels of state interest for the second and third trimesters. As a result of the ruling, abortion laws were affected in 46 states.
So where does that leave us today?
Well, if you’ve been listening to the talks surrounding abortion lately, you’ve heard of something called a “trigger law.” A “trigger law” is a nickname for a law that is unenforceable but may become enforceable if a key change in circumstances occurs. Essentially, if Roe v. Wade is overturned by a “Pro-Life” leaning court, these laws banning abortion become the law. At least 4 states have trigger laws in place, while many others (of those 46 where abortion laws had to change) have existing laws that could be voted back into effect.
Anti-abortion sentiment isn’t just institutional, as you’d expect. While there’s plenty of government officials (and back during the first anti-abortion push, doctors) who are staunchly “Pro-Life”, there’s a very vocal and incensed contingent of voters who are anti-abortion. (While they call themselves “Pro-Life”, for the duration of this piece, they’ll be referred to as simply “anti-abortionists”, as there’s simply no evidence to the matter that they care about any lives aside from fetuses.) This group of people has often turned violent and there’s an entire history of domestic terrorism against abortion doctors.
The most notable anti-abortion group is an elusive one called the “Army of God”. They are an underground domestic terrorism group that’s incredibly hard for the FBI and other government agencies to track. In fact, in their manual, it says that the purpose is that the “soldiers” do not communicate with one another. It’s believed the group was created in the early 80’s (after Roe v. Wade), after a “privately printed, closely guarded” how-to manual began circulating within anti-abortion circles. The AOG advocates violence towards abortion providers and clinics. AOG followers have kidnapped, assaulted, and murdered doctors, sent letters containing fake anthrax to clinics, bombed clinics, and sent death threats to not only clinics, but Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun (one of the Justices who voted in favor of abortion rights.)
One of the most recent incidents of anti-abortion violence occurred at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, Colorado in November of 2015. A man, who had previously acted against other clinics and referred to himself as a “warrior for the babies” left three people dead and several others injured. More recently than this, there have been numerous prosecuted vandalizations on women’s clinics and Planned Parenthoods across the country. In some parts of the country, people line up outside these clinics daily to harass and threaten violence against the people working in or going inside.
If you’ve never gone to a Planned Parenthood, I’ll give you some insight. There are no signs indicating that the clinic exists in the building. The only sign is on main floor entrance, and on the clinic door. The clinic doors are all glass and because I asked, the glass is bulletproof. The receptionists sit back from the entrance behind thick glass they can close, also bulletproof. You have to be buzzed into any of the clinic areas. They asked me if it was okay for them to call me and say they were calling from Planned Parenthood, and if it was okay if I received mail from them. In some areas, people can volunteer to walk women into Planned Parenthoods. Some clinics have no windows at all. Others have constant security on site, as there’s constant protests and the possibility of violence.
All because some Planned Parenthoods provide abortions and the organization receives federal money.
Legally speaking, no federal money can go towards providing abortions. This was set up in the Hyde Amendment. Most federal money given to PP goes towards preventative care, sexual education, pregnancy prevention and birth control, sexually transmitted infection screening and treatment, and breast exams. Because those are services that the organization provides. But most anti-abortionists don’t want to listen when you explain the other services women’s and sexual health clinics provide. However, every time there’s a new abortion debate in this country, clinics like Planned Parenthood are threatened because abortions are 3% of what they provide.
Ultimately, the anti-abortion debate has shifted to being anti-women. What started as a push by physicians over healthcare concerns has turned into a debate that’s thinly veiled misogyny. They’ll claim their reasons are religious, and the ever present “Pro-Life” line has become tired. Many of the same people who claim to be Pro-Life are also the people who turned a blind eye to children being locked in cages at our borders, torn away from their parents. Even on a domestic scale, these “Pro-Life” politicians want to take away social programs that help single/poverty-stricken mothers take care of their children. They’re only “Pro-Life” until birth, then you’re forgotten.
Hope springs eternal though, and even as anti-abortion voices become louder and find their way into positions of vast power, the pro-choice voices are growing louder still. A personal favorite story is of Wendy Davis, a Texas senator, who in 2013 brought her pink running shoes to a state house session to filibuster for 13 hours to prevent a vote on a bill that would severely restrict access to abortion in Texas. People across the country are donating to abortion funds and calling their senators daily. Prominent leaders in the Democratic party are speaking out against the nomination of Kavanaugh, and the importance of Roe v. Wade.
In the end, if Roe v. Wade is overturned, abortions will continue across the country. Women will find a way, as they have for decades, to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Banning abortion doesn’t stop the practice, it just makes it more dangerous. People are already driving hundreds of miles to have abortions, saving up for weeks until they can afford them. By making safe abortions illegal, we’ll see numbers like we saw before, of abortion related deaths. Poor and working-class women will, once again, bleed.
So, what can you do?
Call your senators. If you don’t want to call, use RESIST BOT.
Donate to Planned Parenthood and other abortion/women’s health clinics in your area.
And most important, vote in the 2018 midterms. The midterms are going to be one of the most important elections of our lifetime.

Discover What Your Body is Trying to Tell You
In these times, you can’t help but watch your health very closely. But going to the doctor is not without risks. Muscle testing may give you some assurances and answers.
On the other hand, have you been told to live with things because they are just a part of stress, or should you feel like there is a better answer?
Ever wonder what actually causes those pesky aches and pains, itches and twitches  and other symptoms that modern medicine thankfully is so good at getting rid of?
Muscle testing is a relatively newly researched technique that is evolving and expanding quickly since its inception in the 60s. Not many people know about it, and few practitioners specialize in it. Muscle testing is listening to your body as it tells you exactly what is wrong and what it wants to become healthy. Â
Dr. Alicia Armitstead is one of the few experts practicing muscle testing in New York City at her health center, Healing Arts, and we got an explanation directly from her. She used it to cure her extreme asthma, after doctors said nothing could be done, at 16 years old. She is wiser than her years and looks even younger because of her lifestyle. She believes the same path is available to you. And she won’t stop till she gets you to your wellness goal.
"Muscle testing is a way to get biofeedback from the body. It can be used to help you figure out what organs need help, help the body detox, support the right nutrition for health and use food as medicine," explained Dr. Armitstead. Â
Instead of simply treating symptoms, muscle testing gets right down to the bottom of what is causing you symptoms, discomfort or illnesses. Muscle testing will allow you to determine exactly what your body needs to holistically improve your health from conditions such as joint pain, skin issues, infertility, fatigue, bloating and so much more.
Each reflex tested represents a specific organ, tissue, or function and indicates the effect that energy or lack of energy is having on the body. By using this technique, Dr. Armitstead and her team are able to identify underlying stress or weakness in the body's systems and organs, which may be affecting overall health. They are looking for the underlying cause of symptoms, not merely trying to alleviate the symptoms.
Nutrition affects all of the body's functions in all states of health or ill-health. In fact, if you aren't feeling as well as you think you could, the answer probably lies in the way your body is handling food. Nutrition and other allergy testing utilizes special homeopathic glass vials which do not have pieces of glass in them, but they are glass vials with homeopathic solutions of toxins. This tool can help find nutritional and atmospheric weaknesses and strengths. Weaknesses from allergies may lead to a break down in resistance and immunity, leading to chronic symptoms like low energy, hot flashes, digestive issues, food cravings, and aches and pains. Each cell, tissue, and organ in your body is in the process of replacing itself every day, month and year. This means that you can improve your health.
It is important to know all there is to know about muscle testing. Although this technique is simple and efficient, there are a couple of different variations that can help you achieve holistic health and homeostasis.
As the technology of muscle testing evolves, different kinds of muscle testing are being developed. Â Following are the time-tested basics.
1. Applied kinesiology - Started by George Goodheart, his idea was to find a weak muscle with muscle testing then fix it with chiropractic maneuvers. Chiropractors can do applied kinesiology which is one form of muscle testing. The main goal or idea is to find a weak muscle then fix it.
2. Nutrition response testing - Helps you identify your stressors by figuring out which organs are sensitive or hurt. Dr. Armitstead has special vials of broken glass that represent bad energy and she sees by putting them directly on various organs which need help
3. Psych-K - These are tests that limit beliefs by seeing your neurological responses when you are asked certain questions. Who knew you could muscle test for a glimpse into your mind and happiness? Psych-K testing limits by seeing the full expression of your potential in life.
4. Morphogenic Field Techniques - This is also known as MFT which was developed by Dr. Frank Springbob. We are able to look at stressors in your energy field. Some call this Chi or an Aura.
5. Emotional code – This technique uses muscle testing and NAET. NAET is a combination of muscle response and electromagnetic fields testing. This technique tests your body’s contact reflexes and analyzes them to configure your body’s allergies to eliminate them.
Einstein's theory of relativity, e=mc squared, measures energy and mass. Using these measurements, you can apply them to your everyday activities and health by determining what your body needs.
You can also go to Healing Arts NYC in New York City to get this muscle testing done, or they can teach you how! This fun and eye-opening experience will benefit your body and life.

Avenue south residence price list
For over three decades I had been in the advertising and commercial film industry working with the talented, rich and famous. At the end of this, I thought I could disappear into quiet. I began my Madison Avenue advertising career in the heyday of advertising in the mid-60's, last century, at the top of the ad game, Young & Rubicam. Y&R had the top accounts, creativity and billing. It was a great place to work; if your family could initially afford to send you there (their starting salaries reflected their entry value). After a few restless years of changing departments four times we both (Y&R and I) finally realized corporate America was not the right fit for me and I went back to NYU film school and jumped to the other side: commercial film production. I was destined to keep working with the talented, rich and famous. Fate continued to linked me with some of the most talented commercial and feature film directors in the world; the likes of Ridley and Tony Scott and George Lucas. The Scott brothers and I, along with many multi-talented people, founded Fairbanks Films and that company took over the commercial film production advertising world in short order producing such famous TV commercials as the "1984 Apple Computer" spot that launched cyber technology into the world. Then the Lucas films people decided they wanted to get into the advertising game. And why not? After the motion film industry, the advertising business was making as much money as anybody. So over to Lucas I went with all the inventive, digital technology at hand. It's fair to say, we taught the Avenue south residence price list advertising world digital wizardry, even though others jumped on quickly. It was great fun being the director of marketing of the commercial division teaching the ad world how they could bring any image to the screen, if only they had enough money and time. We changed the look and abilities of commercial film forever producing thousands of spots worldwide. Many of these spots became household icons. During my three decades, I got to know the planet up close and personal and it was more than anyone could ask out of career! So I thought when it came time to retire I surely would be ready for peace and quiet. Wrong...
If you are in the film business, you get to know California really well. Or at least I thought I did. The weather, locations, studios and crews made California an almost MUST on any production schedule. Only strikes and cheap clients would prevent you from shooting in California. Fairbanks Films was my finishing school in southern California and the Lucas organization completed northern California. George Lucas preferred the north over the south (for reasons we won't get into).
While commuting to northern California from New York City my entire time with Industrial Light & Magic Commercials/Lucasfilms, I often took advantage of the natural wonders this part of the world has to offer. One of my most memorable trips was driving to the top of Mount Shasta, just south of the Oregon border. Mount Shasta is part of a dramatic volcano mountain range that snakes its way north. The size and grandeur of this mother of mountains was amazing; you could see it from 100 miles away. We had nothing like it on the East coast. And I thought enjoying its wondrous size and beauty was enough at the time. I would later learn otherwise... Ten years later I would return 'retired' for another purpose entirely...
Some say as we grow older and get closer to leaving, some become more spiritual, women become more masculine and men more feminine, or something like that. Well, anyway after some medical mishaps and 'enough is enough' syndrome, I did leave film and advertising. I mean what else was I going to do, produce another commercial? The last spot we did was the biggest commercial ever created for Ford motor company (90 days of shooting all over the world, the largest budget ever, aired all over the world; this was the perfect swan song. Did I need another cue? No! And there was this curious notion that something inside of me was awakening... Something else was next...
My mother was American Indian descended and my father Irish. My father's Celtic grandmother, my great grandmother, was a back woods Alabama healer. I call it my "I" and "I" links (Irish & Indian, both known for native healing). I remember sitting by great grandmother's bedside as a young child listening to her stories of her healing potions and how people would walk for days to get to her for "a healing."
She knew how to pick herbs from the forest floor and turn pine tree sap into a soothing medicine. So I imagined this ability was also in my DNA. And it was.
Filmmakers are often multi-faceted people and while I was working with one of my film directors on a project I developed a cold and shared my family's healing background. My director-friend immediately suggested that I see his alternative medical doctor named Dr. Herbert Fill. This filmmaker knew I was at the end of my film career and there was more to cure than a cold. Dr. Fill was a rare mix of psychiatry, acupuncture and homeopathic remedies, and commissioner of mental health in the city administration; all this in a Park Avenue office. It was not long before the patient became the student of alternative medicine under Dr. Fill. This was my transition from advertising into the "healing arts."
Once my transition, or should I say, my transformation began it went fairly quickly. After a couple of years of studying under Dr. Fill, I easily moved into energy therapy training called Reiki and Light Ascension; and became certified in these. These new alternative medical worlds introduced me to an entirely new community of people not associated with advertising or film. I began to know this was not going to be the beginning of a quiet retirement but a reinvention of self.

Is There an At-Home COVID-19 Test?
Companies with experience in the “at-home” testing market began announcing in mid-March that they would be offering direct-to-consumer test kits for Covid-19. With panic running high and tests at hospitals and doctors’ offices hard to come by, the appeal was obvious. The kits were touted as a way for consumers to manage this difficult situation themselves: there would be no struggle to see the doctor, or calls to the health department, or waiting in line at a drive-thru test site. Instead, consumers could collect their own samples, by either swabbing the throat or cheek or spitting into a cup. The samples would then be mailed back to the companies’ partner laboratories, which would test for coronavirus. Prices ranged from $135 to $181.Advertisement But criticism was swift. Questions were asked about whether at-home tests could be skimming the resources needed for lab-based tests. There was also the possibility of people collecting their samples incorrectly and questions about follow-up care. Not to mention the risk of inaccurate results. The Food and Drug Administration responded with a 20 March press release, which stated that the FDA had not authorized any test “that is available to purchase for testing yourself at home for Covid-19”. At least four companies, Nurx, EverlyWell, Forward and Carbon Health, have since said they halted sales – though two of the companies still had information about the tests on their websites as of Monday afternoon. While these companies are legitimate and have a track record for at-home testing and providing medical care, there may be others out there hawking products that do not. “Some are coming from reputable places and some are not, and that’s hard for the average consumer to tell,” said Eric Topol, director and founder of the Scripps Research Translational Institute.  Read more For example, a number of questionable internet reports related to coronavirus tests, vaccines and “miracle” cures are already circulating on social media. And for scared consumers, it may be difficult to tell the difference. “There’s a lot of bunk, junk and crank stuff out there,” said Arthur Caplan, founding head of the division of medical ethics at the New York University school of medicine in New York City. The FDA said, for instance, in its 20 March release that it “is beginning to see unauthorized fraudulent test kits that are being marketed to test for Covid-19 in the home”. One key sign that an at-home kit is a sham is that it will offer consumers an almost immediate test result. “That would not be possible,” said Topol. Websites touting miracle cures and preventives – herbs, teas, essential oils, tinctures and colloidal silver – are prevalent. QAnon conspiracy theorists on YouTube and Twitter have irresponsibly told viewers to buy and drink “Miracle Mineral Solution”, an industrial bleach product, to ward off coronavirus. Facebook and Instagram posts claim that marijuana, cocaine or vitamin C can kill or prevent the coronavirus. Salespeople have been offering fake N95 masks. To be clear, the FDA said in 1999 that any products containing colloidal silver are not “safe or effective”, and the National Institutes of Health has said there are no known benefits to ingesting silver supplements and it can cause serious side-effects. The FDA also warned consumers in 2019 not to buy or ingest “Miracle Mineral Solution” because it can cause severe health effects. The FDA and the Federal Trade Commission jointly issued warning letters on 9 March to seven companies for selling “products that fraudulently claim to prevent, treat or cure Covid-19”. One of the warning letters was issued to Jim Bakker, a prominent televangelist who allowed a guest to promote colloidal silver as a cure for Covid-19, and then sold it during a 12 February broadcast of The Jim Bakker Show. The state of Missouri has since filed a lawsuit against Bakker for “falsely promising to consumers that Silver Solution can cure, eliminate, kill or deactivate coronavirus”. The conservative radio host Alex Jones received a cease-and-desist letter on 12 March from the New York attorney general’s office for selling products on his website that contain colloidal silver and claim to treat or cure coronavirus infections. “There is nothing homeopathic or nutritional that can help you with the virus,” said Caplan. “The idea that people are floating some kind of diagnostic solution or magic or therapy on the internet, it’s all total crap.” There have also been reports of consumers buying up a fish tank cleaner on eBay that has the same active ingredient as the antimalarial drug chloroquine, which President Donald Trump touted as a possible treatment for Covid-19. An Arizona man recently died after ingesting the fish tank additive, thinking that it would prevent coronavirus. In an update issued on 24 March, the FDA said it was aware of people buying the fish tank cleaning product and advised consumers: “Don’t take any form of chloroquine unless it has been prescribed for you by your health care provider and obtained from legitimate sources.” On 20 March, the US Department of Justice announced that the attorney general, William Barr, had asked all US attorneys “to prioritize the investigation and prosecution of Coronavirus-related fraud schemes”. The DoJ detailed its first enforcement action on 22 March for a Covid-19 fraud against one website that claimed to be selling coronavirus vaccine kits from the World Health Organization. Despite all the false promises about these products, it’s important for consumers to remember that there is no FDA-approved treatment or vaccine for the novel coronavirus. And the best way to prevent the spread of coronavirus is to practice physical distancing and wash your hands, public health experts say.
Regaining a sense of control is a motivator
Consumers may be motivated to buy these types of items because they are trying to regain control in an uncertain situation, explained April Thames, an associate professor of psychology at the University of Southern California’s Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. “People have this heightened anxiety and they are willing to try anything out there that’s a possible treatment or cure,” said Thames. It creates an opening for scam artists “to market products that sound like they are effective. But Caplan’s ultimate advice to consumers who see coronavirus-related products on the internet? “Anything online, ignore it.” click here to read more on crohnsdigest Read the full article

Murder Mystery of Cora Crippen-- Crippen was a homeopathic physician in New York City when he wed Cora Turner AKA Belle Elmore in 1892. In contrast to her meek, gentle, diminutive husband, Cora Crippen was intimidating and extravagant. After they moved to London in 1897, she performed as a music hall singer and also had affairs with several other men, while he sold patent medicines. He was aided in his business by a young secretary, Ethel Le Neve, who eventually became his mistress. Crippen’s wife disappeared in January 1910, the month after telling him she planned to leave him and to withdraw their savings from the bank. Crippen explained her disappearance to her friends by saying that she had gone on a visit to the United States; later he published an announcement that she had died there. Meanwhile, Le Neve moved in with Crippen and accompanied the doctor in public wearing Cora Crippen’s jewelry and furs. Suspicions were raised, and Crippen received a visit from Inspector Walter Dew of Scotland Yard. Crippen told the police that his wife had left him to live with another man. By the time Dew visited the Crippen house and ordered a thorough search of the house, which led to the discovery of human remains in a hole in the basement. An autopsy and forensic analysis identified the remains as of Cora Crippen, who had been poisoned, then dismembered. In July 1910 Crippen boarded the SS Montrose to Canada with Le Neve, who wore boy’s clothes and pretended to be his son. The ship’s captain recognized the pair and notified his superiors via wireless telegraphy. Dew pursued and overtook the fugitive pair on a faster ship to Canada, where he arrested them. The couple were returned to London, where they went on trial in October 1910. Crippen was found guilty of the murder, and he was hanged the following month; Le Neve was found not guilty. The case of Crippen has always raised questions. 1.)Were the remains Cora? Experts have since examined Spilsbury's slides and said they could not be certain they showed scar tissue. Further, 2.) If the remains were those of Cora, what happened to the rest of the body? ------------------- #forensicscience #murdermistery #casestudy https://www.instagram.com/p/B5-WXimJKXu/?igshid=1a8gqqx50c89f
