Oh Aiko, my beloved. My sister's sweet kitty I love and adore whenever I get to visit!

She's been a bit fussy lately with the house in chaos from a toddler, but recovering and starting to understand she's not the baby of the house anymore. And is her job to help look after my little niece together with her parents.

My mom couldn't do real tress. We grew up with fake holiday trees. One year, my step mother got me a small, real tree for my bedroom at my dads house. I was so excited to have a real tree! I was terribly sick and missed the following 2 weeks of school when we started back. My mom yelled at my step mom and dad telling them she said no real trees!

When I was married the first time, my ILs at the time bought fake trees to accommodate me. However other friends and family decided I was just lying and making excuses not to visit. No one, other than me and my mom, had issues (or so it seemed) so I "must" have been lying about it.

When I married again, my new ILs refused to get a fake tree, so I just never stayed long at their house. I hated going to the store bc up here, they always put that evergreen right as you walk in, sometimes in the vestibule that you have to walk past to get into the store. I have never been so happy that masks are more accepted to help combat it now!

I started telling ppl about my issues with holiday trees when social media was invented. It started on my old blog then moved to FB and so on. The more I said about the issues I had (I always felt like I had the flu), the more people started coming forward and telling me that they also had issues after they got their trees and tested the theory by getting rid of their real tree....then their "illness/cold/flu" disappeared. So many people have thanked me for saying it out loud so they could decide to forego the real trees and actually enjoy their holidays.

So, here I am on a new social media platform spreading the word. If you are always sick this time of year, it may be the evergreen. Ditch the real tree and get a fake one. You may thank me later.
