hocus pocus 2 is really REALLY funny when you watch it back-to-back with the og film. not just in the "the original is so much more raunchy + dark" way, that's just obvious, in the fact that the second movie ends with the main three girls happily going off to become witches and it's clear they forgot that the first film very clearly established that the only witches we saw onscreen were literal agents of satan

I was going to go to bed but the shaking/crying/cant throw up but desperately need to throw up/dying sickness is back for no discernable reason so im watching a second new movie to distract myself since I wont be allowed to fall asleep anyways

So now it's something more lighthearted. Hocus Pocus 2.

already i find it funny how they do the "puritans are fools and sexism of the persecution of witches" but dont forget to call out thesr specific witches for also being The Worst because you literally eat children.

reminds me of how in the first movie the girls were also witches who were using benign "white" magic to protect themselves. Winnie even calls them white witches.
