Questions about my current toxic yaoi hyperfixation with Villain!Usagi and Leo! While I definitely see how Usagi may try to lock up Leo to keep him from becoming a "sinner", I think it's more on his personality to simply follow him wherever he goes in a "doesn't matter where you go I'll eventually find you" kind of way.

Am I making stuff up? Sorry, I just got really invested in the last couple of days XD

Usagi doesn't care about locking up Leo tho, for him Leo is much more interesting when he has the freedom to do what he wants (As long as "what he wants" is also what Usagi wants to see).

Raph’s music taste hasn’t changed much from canon, he still likes soul music. He and April has karaoke nights a few times a week, and sometimes Splinter even joins them! He likes something a bit more upbeat when exercising, so he also likes to listen to rap, timing his lifts with the beats

Donnie also still likes techno, something lyric-less as to not distract his thinking, but strong beats to head bop to when doing important projects. But when he’s doing something fun like siphoning money from billionaires and hacking the street cams to people watch, he’ll play broadway musicals and sing along to it

Lee likes classical music and salsa, something he usually listens during his routine dance classes each week. He also have a separate playlist with glamrock songs and this kind of music he only plays in the comfort of his room. Relaxing around in his favourite comfy hoodies

Mikey likes to listen to hip hop music when he’s out doing his graffiti art, something with a rhythmic beat and lyrics he can mouth along to. During meditation sessions, he likes to listen to ghibli music, something he found out during one of his missions to the surface. He doesn’t really like the silence, it makes him jittery and lost his focus

How do you know where to read the kanji as On Yomi and where Kun Yomi? (Excuse me if these are not the correct terms)

Generally speaking, it depends on whether the word is of Chinese origin (pronounced with Onyomi) or native Japanese (pronounced with Kunyomi). But there are lots of exceptions to this rule, so ultimately you just have to memorize them all.

For beginners, however, as a rule of thumb, if a verb or adjective has a hiragana suffix (called okurigana), it’s pronounced in kunyomi. For example:

綺麗 (pretty, clean, onyomi, “kiREI”)麗らか (bright, beautiful, kunyomi, “URAraka”)

食べる (to eat, kunyomi, “TAberu”)飲む (to drink, kunyomi, “NOmu”)飲食する* (to eat and drink, onyomi, “INSHOKU suru”)

*する is basically “to do” and Japanese’s way of shoehorning words into becoming a verb. inshoku on its own is “eating and drinking” as a NOUN and suru effectively makes it “to do eating and drinking.” It’s not a suffix, unlike the other two verbs.

Notice how even though the same kanji are used and the meanings are very similar, the pronunciations are different depending on the word’s origin.

For nouns (at beginners level), usually if there’s only a single kanji, it’s pronounced in kunyomi.

東 (east, kunyomi, “HIGASHI”)南 (south, kunyomi, “MINAMI”) 西 (west, kunyomi, “NISHI”) 北 (north, kunyomi, “KITA”)

But wait, if you put them together to form a compound word, they become onyomi!

東南 (southeast, onyomi, “TOUNAN”)東北 (northeast, onyomi, “TOUHOKU”)

Like everything else, there are always EXCEPTIONS. Some kanjis only have onyomi pronunciations so they’ll be pronounced as such even if they are standalone:

肉 (meat, onyomi, “NIKU”)駅 (train station, onyomi, “EKI”)

Are there any kunyomi compound words, then, you ask? Absolutely!

青空 (blue sky, kunyomi, “AOZORA”)毛玉 (furball, kunyomi, “kedama”)

And things gets a little harder from here. You know what else there are? Compound words that can be pronounced in BOTH kunyomi and onyomi:

人気 (popularity, onyomi, “NINKI”)人気 (human presence/sign of life, kunyomi, “HITOKE”)

草原 (grassland, onyomi or kunyomi, “SOUGEN” or “KUSAHARA”)While the two pronunciations have the same meaning, there’s a slight difference in nuance. Sougen is like a prairie wheres Kusahara is more modest in size.)

Confused yet? Because there’s more! There are compound words where the first half is in kunyomi and the second half in onyomi, and vice versa:

毎年 (every year, onyomi+kunyomi, “MAITOSHI”)長年 (many years, kunyomi+onyomi, “NAGANEN”)

And then, some words are #JustJapaneseThings and there isn’t a kanji with a corresponding meaning for it, so the Japanese essentially ‘spell’ them out using completely unrelated kanjis for their phonetic sounds only. These type of words are called ateji:

矢張り (as expected/nonetheless, kunyomi, “YAHARI”)Literal meaning of kanji: “stretch an arrow”

兎に角 (anyway/at any rate, onyomi, “TONIKAKU”)Literal meaning of kanji: “horns for rabbit”

In the case of words where there ARE corresponding kanji, but the native Japanese pronunciations simply won’t fit into the normal kunyomi/onyomi system, they become words with their own unique pronunciations called jukujikun:

昨日 (yesterday, irregular, “KINOU”)二十歳 (20 years old, irregular, “HATACHI”)お土産 (souvenir, irregular, “oMIYAGE”)

What if it’s something the Japanese don’t have a word for? Before katakana was all the rage, both ateji and jukujikun were used:

仏蘭西 (France, onyomi, “FURANSU”)Literal meaning of kanji: “Buddha-orchid-west”)

煙草 (Tabacco, irregular, “TABAKO”)

Both are now more commonly known as フランス and タバコ respectively.

And if a word/phrase is a 4-kanji idiom (yojijukugo), it’s likely pronounced in onyomi:

唯一無二 (one and only, onyomi, “YUITSUMUNI”)花鳥風月 (literally “flower-bird-wind-moon” meaning “beautiful nature” which is later used to describe people who appreciate nature by drawing or writing poems about it, onyomi, “KACHOUFUUGETSU”)

There are many more, and as you progress you’ll find lots more irregular words that you can only learn from memorization.

A/N: Guess who wrote this instead of working on 'Dating Kagami Taiga' and TPOS? That's right, me. I'm sorry, I know I suck too. I just randomly got this idea and decided to write it down. Except, instead of writing the idea, I wrote out the entire plot. Whoops.

Multichapter Fic: Part One / ...

“Iwa-chan, I think I'm in love.”

Iwaizumi rolled his eyes at his boyfriend’s breathy sigh as he entered their apartment and collapsed on the couch. “So what's this guy got that you love so much?” Oikawa turned to look at Iwaizumi in surprise. “Iwa-chan? You're actually interested?” Iwaizumi looked at him and raised an eyebrow, “Well, it's pretty normal for you to say that but you usually sound more melodramatic.” Oikawa glared at Iwaizumi and turned away. “Iwa-chan is so mean!” Iwaizumi laughed as he came and sat next to him on the couch. “Come on, tell me, Tooru. What's so interesting about this guy?” Oikawa pouted as he turned back around. “This guy is our new neighbour.” Iwaizumi nodded in understanding, “That explains the commotion outside.” Oikawa sighed dreamily as he adjusted himself to lay his head on Iwaizumi’s lap. “Iwa-chan, he had the most gorgeous inky black straight hair like you wouldn't believe. Looked uber soft, I tell you. And his eyes…” Oikawa sighed dreamily again. “Iwa-chan, that shade of aqua blue on such a pretty face should be illegal. How are the rest of us poor innocent people supposed to live ? I'm gonna run away from our loveless union to a happy life with that stranger.”

Iwaizumi grinned, the only sign Oikawa had before the other man started tickling him. “ Nooooo!!!!! I-i-iwa-chan! Can't… breathe! Yield! I yield! Iwa-chan!” Iwaizumi full-out laughed at his boyfriend underneath him who was still squirming to get away from his seeking fingers. “What was that about a loveless union?” He asked Oikawa. The brunette sighed dramatically, “Iwa-chan! You know I love you!” Iwaizumi smiled at his boyfriend, “Yeah, and I do too.” Oikawa’s breath caught in his throat at the sight of such a gentle smile from Iwaizumi. It was definitely a change from his usual scowl. Speaking of scowls…”Iwa-chan, he had the most delectable lips, I swear. He was scowling, like you always do,” Oikawa grinned up at Iwaizumi cheekily, “but those rosy red lips are like something straight out of Snow White. He even has the skin for it!” Iwaizumi pulled himself off Oikawa and sat down properly on the couch again. “If he was moving, then you could probably see his things and his friends were probably there. What do you think he is?” Oikawa sighed. “Well, there was an odd couple of a really tall blondie and an orange-haired shortie who were both guys so he's probably fine with that kind of thing but there was a short, cute blonde girl and a freckled sweetheart there too so I dunno. He could be straight, he could be gay, he could be bi. Iwa-chan, how am I supposed to know ?...Iwa-chan?” Iwaizumi had the strangest expression on his face. Oikawa had never seen it before-shocking, considering they'd known each other all their lives.

“Tooru, did you hear any of them call each other anything?” Oikawa frowned at the weird question. “Yeah, the freckled boy called the tall one ‘Tsukki’ and that ‘Tsukki’ called the orange-haired kid something to do with the sun. Which is kinda weird if you think about, like, sun and moon, really? But the couple was weird so whatever. Iwa-chan, is everything OK?” Iwaizumi was now choking and Oikawa was seriously starting to become worried. “Hajime?”

Iwaizumi could barely breathe. The hilarity of the situation was too much. He couldn't believe Oikawa hadn't realised what had happened. “Tooru?” Oikawa looked at him in concern, “Yeah, Hajime?” “Do you remember the kid you used to call ‘Chibi-chan’ when we were third years at Seijou?” Oikawa frowned, what had that to do with anything? “Do you remember what his hairs color was?” “Yeah, it was orange. Hard to forget. It was funny because his name was the opposite of one of their blockers…” Oikawa paled in horror at the realization. There had been a reason why his neighbour had looked at him in surprise.

“Did I just announce that I'm in love with Tobio-chan?”

P. S. Just in case you're confused, Iwaizumi and Oikawa are dating and have been for some time now. Its approximately 9 years after canonic events so Oikawa didn't recognise Kageyama. The reason Iwaizumi was so chill with Oikawa announcing that he was in love with a random guy was because they have a sort of open relationship. They will always be together but if either of them or both of them like someone, they're allowed to pursue that person. Iwaizumi's gay and Oikawa's pan.

Not sure if this was already asked, but does your Leo want to be around Villain! Usagi? Would your Villain! Usagi even care if Leo didn't? I doubt he'd be the "I'll just kidnap you and you'll learn to love me" type of bad guy, but I just get the vibe that he'd follow Leo around wherever he went and wouldn't have the noble instinct of letting go if he didn't.

Perfect reason for Leo to snap and reveal if he killed him or not SPILL THE LORE!!!!!!

Leo doesn't want to be around him, but I think anyone can see he is very dangerous (haha epic reference). The thing is, Usagi doesn't give a fuck about Leo's wants, bc Usagi always does what he wants.

He scares Leo, he follows him around sometimes, but he doesn't care about Leo loving him back, and I think that's part of the charm about him

I know it's probably just because its a Tangled AU, but in the story why are the tails in Leo's mask so long? I'm just curious, and the idea that Leo just liked the dramatics of them trailing them over his shoulders is definitely a valid answer! I love your AU so much!!!

Interesting question! So, in tangled there's this symbolism with Rapunzel's hair and Gothel's control over her. That's part of the reason she ends up with such a short hair in the end, and it's something that I wanted to do with the au too!

In one of the pages (of chapter 3 I believe) Leo talks about how he makes his own clothes, but his mask and his bandages are from his mother, so this is not his but Big Mama's decision.

Leo does like the long tails but that's because he's used to have them, like Rapunzel uses her hair in many fun and creative ways even if that doesn't mean that's the way she prefers to have it. In the comic, Leo stylizes the long tails from time to time, but that's still Big Mama's mask, and for him to escape her, he has to take it off.

So that's why I added the long tails lmao akjsfkhakjfh I like the symbolism

He doesn't know how to speak Spanish actually, knowing that they're all actually speaking Japanese in the au ahsgfakjsfh, but I'm sure he would get curious about the language

When he learns he obviously will try to teach Usagi bc he's pretty excited about learning new things

Leo and Usagi are aroace, but aroace people can still have partners! With Leo and Usagi they have a queerplatonic relationship. They don't see each other in a romantic way but, in the case of Leo and Usagi's relationship, they don't see each other as "just friends" either, for them is deeper than that.

Every qpr is different tho! this is just their case.
