Have you ever gotten into internet beef with another Presidential blog? Maybe a debate over James Buchanan's response to the Panic of 1857?
Hahaha...no, not that I can think of, although I have been on Tumblr for a very long time (and I'm old), so I could be forgetting something.
Never say never, though! There's always the chance that a big argument over John Quincy Adams's Tariff of Abominations will pop off and I'll end up trading diss tracks with some of my fellow Tumblr history blog OGs like @ploddingthroughthepresidents or @politicalprof.

Baked Bean Supper!
Recently, I had the pleasure of going to a neighboring Historical Societies annual Baked Bean Supper. Baked Bean Suppers are an interesting tradition here on the east coast, bringing people together for music, merriment, and as many beans as one can consume. These events host a variety of beans, often served alongside brown bread and bright red hot dogs (something I have recently learned are a very Maine thing).
While slightly less common today, Baked Bean Suppers have existed for centuries here in Maine, becoming a lesser-known staple of small town culture.
featuring the photo I took of my very full baked bean plate and various sides- this was my first time trying many of these bean recipes! Some were better than others (I do NOT think beans should be sweet unfortunately) but getting to try the dishes while surrounded by people supporting the community made for a fantastic evening. :)

i was just thinking about how 90% of my obsession with Diogenes started with Tumblr memes. what if there were similar memes for other philosophers? like jean-paul Sartre or sun tzu?
There are in fact Tumblr memes about Sun Tzu, though you need to be part of fairly specific circles to get the really good ones. I'm not personally aware of any significant body of Tumblr memes about Sartre, but I won't swear on my life they don't exist.

Can you recommend any active history blogs?
I don't follow all that many blogs, so I'm sure some of my readers can share their recommendations in the replies. Of the blogs that I do follow, here are a few activate sites that regularly update with some great material:
•The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum (@richardnixonlibrary)
•The California State Library (@californiastatelibrary)
•The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library (@fdrlibrary)
•Today's Document from the National Archives (@todaysdocument)
•The National Archives (@usnatarchives)
I really wish that the LBJ Library (@lbjlibrary) still updated their Tumblr regularly because they used to post some interesting stuff. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum (@fordlibrarymuseum) has also been inactive for a few months, but they were one of my favorite things to see on my dashboard when they posted regularly. A few years ago, the National Archives actually started an awesome Tumblr called Our Presidents (@ourpresidents) that was like the mothership for all of the other Presidential Library blogs in the NARA's Presidential Library system. It was a GREAT idea and one of my favorite blogs, but it just stopped posting a couple years ago. I wish they would get that one going again. I think those inactive sites still have their old posts and archives available, so you can still go back and see what we're missing.
Like I said, I'm sure some of my readers have better suggestions than I do about this that they can share in the replies, so what are some of your favorite history blogs?

one thing that so many students forget is that, a win is a win. if you planned on doing english homework but instead you finished your history essay, celebrate that, don’t be upset that you didn’t sick to your plan, at least you got SOMETHING DONE. a win is a fucking win and don’t let anyone tell you different.
