This is NOT found in the DVD rerelease Sentai Filmworks did when they 'license rescued' the material, and you'll need to specifically buy the limited edition Disc 3 online.

This English Dub has Michelle Ruff as Chikane, Stephenie Sheh as Himeko and Kate Higgins as Otoha.

hey whats himeko syndrome?

Himeko Syndrome is a fictional character personality element based on the one and only battered bottom icon Himeko Kurusugawa (who we do stan)

It's specifically about characters who seem naive or innocent about things they really should know by now, are good-hearted but still feel like they're being selfish, are generally helpless, can be easily emotionally/physically toyed with due to their helplessness (which can include more unsavory outcomes) and general desire to accommodate others, and most importantly, manage to inexplicably attract the romantic affection or even obsession of multiple love interests despite not actually being a particularly interesting person in her own right.

Basically a helpless bottom who exists to be the innocent girl for the cooler girls to fight over without doing anything herself.

Himeko herself ultimately transcends this syndrome to some degree but she's still the namesake for it given how much she exemplifies the role while she occupies it and also, y'know, what happens to her as a result
