PXL'S Anatomy of Screenshots

So you want to take better screenshots? There are multiple factors to consider, and if you don't enjoy tweaking reshade settings for every image, my ultimate method may not be for you. That being said, there are tips and resources in this guide that are applicable to everyone and you can select to explore those that are useful to your specific situation.
Disclaimer: I am not claiming to be an expert, nor am I offering to provide troubleshooting on an individual basis. This is a general guide and if you are unfamiliar with any of the concepts, please use the mighty power of the internet to find tutorials. I promise everything that I have learned over the years has been published and documented a thousand times better than I ever could.
There are five factors to address:
Your computer's inherent capabilities
The game's limitations
The mods you're using
Reshade
Post Processing
Graphics Card Settings & Drivers:
Become familiar with your graphic options. If you don't have a dedicated graphics card (i.e. a desktop or gaming laptop, these features may be unavailable and you should skip.)
I have an AMD Radeon Pro card which is designed for workstation level systems. It's overkill for sims, but useful for 3D rendering and modelling work. I have changed the following settings for DirectX 9 applications:
anti-aliasing - enhance application settings
anisotropic filtering - enabled
anisotropic filtering level - 16x
texture filtering quality - high
surface format optimization - high
Consider overclocking your graphics card to unlock it's full potential. DO NOT pursue this venture unless you are ok with the risk of burning out your card prematurely. I use at present, overclocked Bootcamp Drivers from BootcampDrivers.com obviously, if you're not playing on an intel based mac through Bootcamp, this is irrelevant to you.
None of these settings are useful until you address the default games limitations, which leads nicely into the next factor.
Addressing The Sims 4's Graphic Limitations:
Everyone should be familiar at this point with lighting mods, 4k, textures, disabling ssao, etc. but, I'm still going to spell it out. None of this is new information and has been covered many a time by various players ad nauseum.

overhaul your graphics.cfg file (i use a custom blend with features specific to me), however @simp4sims has done a ridiculous amount of work in providing a simple to install file that can be found here - read through their tutorials!! they have provided an excellent oversight of exactly what this does and why it matters
improve the indoor lighting for your sims - previously i used @luumia's no blu, no glo - recently i switched to @northernsiberiawinds better in game lighting mod here, though i have tweaked some of the settings to suit my own personal preferences
i don't use the HQ mod, i don't find that it makes enough difference for the amount of effort it requires to convert CAS CC
It should go without saying, but tweaking your graphics config file is absolutely useless if you can't play TS4 at it's maximum in game graphic settings!
The Mods You're Using:
Now that you've put in all this work into getting the game ready to make use of quality mods where do you start? Well, the CC you install matters. Whatever your preference, whether it be maxis-match, alpha or somewhere in between, priority should be given to using items textured in 2k or 4k resolutions, and specific attention should be paid to using wall and flooring textures with bump maps, and or high quality resolutions (this is important later for reshade if you intend to learn about ray tracing).
I will separately post a guide to creators with crispy textures because that is it's own novel.
Reshade:
Phew. Still with me?
There are many many many reshade presets out there, most are alike, but none employ ray tracing, and that is because a) it needs to be manually adjusted for every screenshot, b) they are paid shaders, and c) this requires advanced knowledge of reshade and a decent enough graphics set up that won't overheat - games running native ray tracing recommend a minimum VRAM of 8GB (please note RAM and VRAM are not the same) - i therefore do not recommend pursuing this option if your system does not meet those minimum requirements.

Start here to understand what ray tracing for reshade is. In my opinion, the shaders are well worth the price of $5 for the amount of work that has gone into creating them by the talented Pascal Gilcher. That link is a comprehensive starting point into expanding your knowledge of reshade and it's capabilities.
I have always created my own reshade presets from scratch, and while the core colorization settings I utilize remain largely the same, using ray tracing and re-light means every screenshot needs to be manually adjusted (lights repositioned, bounce and AO factors adjusted, etc) before being captured. @pictureamoebae just published a very timely post discussing the re-light shader and you can read it here.
Post Processing
Reshade does 99.99% of the work that traditionally would be accomplished in a photo editing software like photoshop. Occasionally, I need to adjust exposure manually, add depth of field manually, or color correct. Beyond that I use it to scale images to fit the resolution and file size limits of various platforms. Conceptually this reduces the amount of uncontrolled loss encountered when platforms like tumblr auto compress files that are too large. In reality, tumblr still makes images crappy compared to how they appear in my file folder.

I hope that this gives you a starting point into expanding your methodologies. My process is continuously evolving and I find this aspect of the game most entertaining. For others who don't enjoy this process, it's probably not worth it!

Yo! Welcome to the casting call for the hottest, freshest, and awesomest simblr community competition! I'm your host, jonquilyst, and I am scouting out 14 unsuspecting teenaged Sims to compete in crazy, wacky (and maybe a little dangerous) challenges at this crummy ol' summer camp! Do you think your Sim has what it takes to win??
The Gist:
This competition is, obviously, based off of the Total Drama series (a show that's near and dear to me), but you do not need any background knowledge of this show to participate! The show (and this competition) functions similarly to a Bachelor Challenge, where contestants will be routinely eliminated until there is a sole winner.
This competition will also focus on the contestants building relationships with each other (hence the drama part, which is bound to happen when you put 14 teenagers together!)
Submission Rules:
Spots are first-come-first-serve, meaning the first 14 entries will be automatically in the competition
I'm hoping to have all 14 Sims by November 17th so I can get started possibly by my Thanksgiving break that following week, but this isn't a fixed deadline. (Please provide the link to DL your sims as soon as convenient. Ask me if you need help with this)
Your sim must be a teen
No occults; contestants must be human only (to prevent unfair advantages)
Contestants must not have high-level skills (they can have some level of skill but nothing above lvl 5; also to prevent unfair advantages)
Any level of CC is fine; just make sure to include it when you send your sim over to me ^^ (Nevertheless your sim may look different in my game since everyone uses different mods/presets/etc.)
Only one outfit per category please
Please give your sims a backstory. Describe what are they like, why are they competing on Total Drama Sims, etc.
Your sim can have any traits/aspirations
Here is how the competition will work:
The 14 contestants will be split into 2 teams of 7: The Screaming Llamas and the Killer Cowplants
The 2 teams will compete in challenges in attempt to win invincibility (safety from being voted off). The losing team will have to vote someone off (the winning team will not be part of voting)
This process continues until 7 contestants remain. Afterwards the teams dissolve and everyone competes individually (this is known as merge). This means that only 1 contestant can win invincibility; everyone else will be at risk for elimination
When merge occurs, all eliminated contestants at that point will be eligible to rejoin the game through a special challenge. The winner of that challenge will rejoin the game (bringing the number of contestants back to 8)
This process again continues until 2 contestants remain. In the finale, all eliminated contestants will vote for a winner
Challenges will occur half the time. The other half of the competition will be socialization days, where contestants are free to socialize with each other as they please
The competition will start with a socialization day first to establish relationships before the first challenge
If the numbers between teams get too uneven then a team swap will occur to one random contestant on the larger team
Voting will be determined by relationship dynamics and how everyone did in the challenge. Contestants who do poorly are more likely to get voted. Contestants who have a negative relationship with each other are also more likely to get voted. Conversely contestants who have a positive relationship with each other are less likely to get voted. The contestant with the most votes at the end is eliminated. All of this will be determined by a spinner (in case of a tie I will use a random number generator to determine who's out). This will also determine who wins at the end of the competition
Reward for the Winner:
This competition is mostly for the funsies, but whoever wins this comptetition will personally receive an actual reward from me! Whatever you receive includes, but is not limited to, one of the following options:

... Will you guys please let me talk about hgduo/gossipduo/mockingjays/ whatever they are called a little more pleaseeeeeeeeee, they make me unwell and I want to get my thoughts about them out of my head- or more specifically about them from Bad's point of view!
There's a familial air to it, but it's just not true to define it like that- and that doesn't make what they DO have any less powerful or significant- They have a unique bond and that continues to be true, even during painful times like this.
Cellbit WAS Bad's responsibility at one point, and that time came and went- he got him through the war and into adulthood ( aka 18 years old or close to it.) They meet again as old friends and generally respect each other as such... but even so Bad can't deny he still feels some duty to watch over the man once he starts crumbling- much like how Cellbit as well can't help but reach out to Bad during this time.
but there's limits.
like- Bad for years had and still wants to protect Cellbit, he's had an influence on him, he taught him how to survive, he himself acknowledges he has some responsibility over Cellbit, looking at Cellbit right now feels like looking in a mirror, he doesn't like having to give up on him, but if it's between him and the kids he's choosing the kids every time... and he knows there is no simple way to save someone who refuses to let themself be saved.
And it hurts! It hurts seeing Cellbit like this! It hurts having to let him burn! It hurts watching someone he cares for falling down the same path he is! It hurts knowing he's hurting others the way it did for him seeing Cellbit like this! It hurts having to choose his kids over his protege/ student/ former responsibility/ the kid he watched over years ago/ old friend/ his 'something'!
Like, cc!Bad brought up this internal mental tier list that q!Bad has- I still deeply believe that q!Cellbit is quite high up there even if he'll never be at the level his kids are at- like he loves Cellbit enough that he ACTUALLY CONSIDERED putting parts of his months long plan at risk to save him- even if it was just during the stress of that moment that still means a LOT from Bad- but he was always going to choose his kids in the end!
Based on what I know of q!Bad (which is admitably not a lot lol) there is next to nothing that'd convince him to give up on his kids- with Cellbit he's able to see that he can't help him because Cellbit sadly does not want to be saved- and for Bad that means he simply has to accept it even if he really doesn't like it- the emotions from that night have processed and he's looking at the situation from a more logical and resolute perspective. If it means him and Cellbit may one day clash, then with a heavy sigh so be it....
but if it was Dapper or Pomme... I just don't feel certain in saying he'd be able to come to that conclusion, especially not after one night. Even if it would be the 'smart' thing to do. It's one of the key differences between the dynamic he has with them vs Cellbit...
But, in a perfect situation, he would've done everything to save them both.

Delta Squad Headcanons
Focusing on Advisor
During transport and some missions, Asvisor will wear his dress grays which are actually pitch black so Admirals can distinguish commando squad advisors from the other regular clones (though most have no idea what the black means, just that it is different)
Few of the GAR know about advisors at all and those who do are very high up commanders (when I say GAR, this includes ARC, CTs, regular CCs, literally anyone but the Commandos and the Advisors)
Advisors often work with multiple squads at one time, though their missions usually don’t overlap (ie, two different missions at the same time, not two squads on the same mission)
In the beginning of the war, it was common for multiple squads in the same planet working together and the command center to be very active with Advisors working maps, intel, and avoiding the GAR
The more dangerous missions occur right before or lead to a campaign and no one is the wiser, though its about equal between those that happen before and those that happen during
In one instance, Delta squad was on a LAAT/i heading toward their ship and saw an LAAT/i heading toward the planet carrying troops
The commandos themselves have small ports on them to inject bacta into for damage and internal stress
All that’s needed is to lock a small container of bacta into the port with a click and it auto injects
There is one port per arm and one port on the upper and lower leg, then two on the front and back of their chest below the ribs
These ports are meant for long missions with little rest time, injections are saved until enough damage is accumulated or one major injury
These are inputted at standard age 2 and they all put completely out and given a week recovery before the ports can be used
All commandos have basic medical training, however there are a few specially trained medic commandos that stick to one squad and partner with others for missions
Walon Vau, while a very strict and harsh teacher, did care about Delta squad in his own way
This care continued into the instruction of the Delta squad Advisor CC-01/425
The Advisor program came along about a year after the Commando project began, however they took CC cadets with low physical score and high intelligence and processing to be the candidates
These cadets had essentially no continued combat training since age 2, with only one day a week reserved for it (half day of blasters and half day of sparring)
The rest of the days would be full of strategy, team management, intelligence collecting, map reading, etc. everything they’d need to lead a squad from an ship in orbit safe and sound
(They were never really safe and sound. They were the squads almost guide and half guy in the chair with a smidge of leader and decision maker, any and all failure in any compacity fell to them. Squad failure=their failure and just as harsh of punishment. Death)
Each Mandalorian in charge of a squad would teach a class for the advisors. Though with the amount of mandalorians, only the ones with top ranking squads would get to teach
Walon would often pass up to teach Delta, but a training accident that left three squads out of commission for a week left him and Mird restless
He decided to watch some of these advisors and CC-01/425 caught his eye
He had a look of defiance and a ‘take no shit’ attitude that was perfect for his squad
During that week, Vau rearranged the training system so each day included 3 hours of physical training as well as their full day
During these three hours, Vau had the Deltas study on their own while he took CC-01/425 for personal training
In the beginning, these three hours were spent playing strategy games and gambling, sabaac was a key game. Gambling games were used to teach how to read others who show little and how to weigh risks
He also taught him how to command and care for Mird, since Vau wanted him to learn that responsiblity (also he would get Mird if anything happened to him)
Eventually, these changed into sparring and language studies (ie, mando'a), and taught him a lot of the mandalorian customs that he taught the Deltas (so CC-01/425 could understand how the Deltas think/act and to be competable with them)
Though Vau taught CC-01/425 with the purpose of advising the Deltas, he kept them separate and did not tell them about each other (he does care for CC-01/425 just as much as the Deltas)
This choice was because he cared for CC-01/425, since if CC-01/425 bonded with them as children, his judgments would change based on his past experiences
Keeping them separate kept him unbaised and able to be brutally honest and strict with the Deltas while on missions
The only time they've interacted is on a training mission, which ended in success for the Deltas and the highest score of all the commando groups
Due to Vau's want to prepare CC-01/425 for the Deltas, he modified the Advisors training track, overall improving the quality of troopers; with their intelligence and strategy matching the command track CCs (CCs specialize in large scale attacks, Advisors specialize in small strike teams and stealth missions)
One Advisor can operate and strategize for -at most- 3 Commando Squads before another needs to step in. However, if all the squads are on the same mission, the number rises to 5 squads since the commands go to each squad instead of every member of a squad
There has been a few instances where Advisors have helped/guided GAR troopers on stealth missions. Though the Advisors are referred to a different titles (depending on the mission) and they have never truly made contact with the men they were helping
GAR troopers rarely work with Commandos, due to the animosity between the groups (especially the ARC troopers). During those times, Commando squads will defer to their Advisor rather than the ranking officer, even if the officer is a nat-born
Delta has drawn the short end of the stick the most and often find themselves working around the GAR, keeping their mission secret
There were a few training sessions were the CCs would work a Commando squad, these would often end in longer mission times and lower success rates
Vau often enjoyed watching these sessions and would have CC-01/425 analyze what the CCs were doing wrong to improve his strategies
Vau would also take Delta to watch other Commando squads training sessions to see how different squads act during a mission. He would also have them watch CTs completing sims to see the difference in techniques and approaches
Though, Vau doesn't let them interact with the non-Mandalorian trainers. This is not because of anything about them but rather Vau knows from experience that the trainers care little for improving the individual troopers but just that their numbers are met
Vau is particular with who his troopers interact with (trainer wise), not letting them interact with trainers such as Dred Priest. Despite this strictness, Delta works with Skirata's Commandos very often and will let the Nulls teach the Deltas when he goes to train with CC-01/425
The Commando barracks are on a completely separate building on Kamino with their own sim and training areas for them to learn without the distractions of the CTs and other CCs, though the Advisors are kept on the same building as the Commandos

Hiya! I spoke to you a while back as a newish player who wanted (and still, unfortunately, does want) Rosmontis. I've been saving my pulls as you suggested, but then, hmm, I'm thinking how this basically my only chance to get Shu even though I wasn't looking forward to her... if you don't mind me asking, what's your thought process when it comes to limited banners you're not 100% invested in? Would you throw a few pulls at it just on the off chance? Thanks!
The limited banner FOMO is very real, but I try not to let it affect me if I'm not interested in the units on the banner - there's 5ish a year assuming one or two true limited collab banners a year (two Rainbow Six Siege true limited collab banners are coming up), so unless you're dedicated into only pulling on limited banners, you won't have many resources left over for non-limited units you might want in between. The main thing you need to remember about pulling on limited banners is that you have a higher chance of getting one of the rate-up six stars than a regular banner (70% vs. 50% on single six star rateup banners), but if you're only pulling for the limited unit, you have a 35% chance of getting the limited unit vs. their non-limited partner because the six star odds are split between two units, so the chances of getting the specific unit you want are lower than normal. So in most cases, if you're not heavily invested, I'd only pull if youre happy getting either of the six stars - in this case, if you'd be happy with either Shu or Zuo Le (both of which are very strong units!). I did this on So Long, Adele and ended up getting Swire Alter! There are exceptions where I'd suggest saving and pulling no matter what - the upcoming Wis'adel & Logos banner is probably the most stacked banner in the history of the game regardless of your feelings on those two characters so definetely a must-pull, Texas the Omertosa and Ch'en the Holungday were also notoriously broken past limited units (though Ch'en alter has fallen out of favour recently due to even More powercreep). Shu is great, but outside of high-risk CC or other high-level content, I don't think she really has that much of an impact on casual gameplay comapred to Wishy or Texalter as a unique, must-pull unit (though she is very fun!), mainly due to her nature as a (very strong) support unit that heals and buffs allies. At the end of the day, you can just remember that the support system is fairly generous and you can always bring along a Shu to 90% of content from a friend or a stranger later on if you want to or need to use her! I didn't get Jessica the Liberated on her banner and have spent more time starting with her in IS4 than I probably would've if I actually did get her LOL. That said, if you want to do some gambling, spending the free 10 pull and daily pulls (both exclusive to and wasted after this banner runs out) should get you to ~23 pulls on the banner, meaning you can pretty easily hit pity (50 pulls, after which the odds of a 6 star increase by 2% per pull!) for one six star without making too much of a commitment into your Rosmontis funds.

Excerpt from this story from Inside Climate News:
On Sept. 13, Decatur, Illinois, city councilperson David Horn found out a monitoring well at a carbon capture and storage site in his community was leaking. He did not find out through an internal council meeting, nor an emergency phone call from the city manager or an alert from environmental regulators. He found out like most other people did, through an article in E&E News.
Carbon capture and storage (CCS) wells are a relatively new addition to the American carbon storage gamut. The well that leaked in Decatur was located at a plant owned by Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM), a massive grain processing corporation, where wells store carbon dioxide emissions from the ADM ethanol plant deep underground. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, these projects, known as Class VI wells, involve companies injecting CO2, in the form of a supercritical fluid, into bedrock for “long-term storage.” 
In August, the EPA issued ADM a notice of violation of the Safe Drinking Water Act. They noted that ADM “failed to meet the requirements of the Permit and the [Underground Injection Control] regulations” due to the movement of “formation fluids into unauthorized zones,” a failure to follow their emergency plan and a failure to monitor the well. 
On Sept. 27, ADM notified EPA that they would be temporarily pausing CO2 injections after discovering a potential brine fluid leak in their second monitoring well.  
The Decatur site hosts two of the four Class VI wells in the country to be fully permitted and operational. The other two are located in Indiana at Wabash Valley Resources, a fertilizer plant boasting a “zero-carbon” production process. But these wells are, in no small sense of the word, experiments, according to some advocates. 
“One of the biggest problems with [CCS wells] is that they are very hard to pull back from if we’re wrong,” said Carolyn Raffensperger, executive director of the Science & Environmental Health Network, a nonprofit advocacy organization. “If a Class VI well cannot contain the CO2 indefinitely, these are experiments that are not safe to fail. If they fail, the risk to future generations is substantial.”
The risk of high-volume CO2 exposure—seen when a CCS pipeline ruptured in Satartia, Mississippi, in 2020—is CO2 poisoning, which can lead to everything from temporary unconsciousness to, in some cases, death. The Biden administration has doubled-down on funding for CCS projects through the Inflation Reduction Act to make inroads on his administration’s goal for a “net-zero emissions economy by 2050.” 
In Decatur, Horn and other residents have questions about their right to know when things are going wrong.

So, read something interesting - apparently nitroglycerin (or a major component of it) lowers blood pressure, and is even still used to today as a form of heart medication. I'm wondering if that would affect Katsuki? Like, I don’t know anywhere NEAR enough about that kind of thing to know for sure, but would Katsuki have natural low/high blood pressure, because he’s constantly sweating nitroglycerin? Apparently sedatives w/ low blood pressure can be dangerous, is that on his med record?
Honestly I love it and while I haven't mentioned it in CC I did mention it a bit before when discusing how the biology of Quirks effects the personality.
Mostly in that Katsuki's whole thing was always going to result in her being 'all the time all the time', but whether that resulted in the angry gremlin we have, or an anxiety-fueled bundle of nerves panicking 24/7, or some chipper adhd-esque party girl, that was more Katsuki's own nature and nurture coming into play than the Quirk itself.
But yeah like. Just like most Quirks, Katsuki's body is designed to be Like That and can regulate itself fine. Except when an outside force like medication comes into play.
That's gonna be a Fun Time when they find out that things to lower her blood pressure go fucky, but thankfully it's going to be in a controlled environment. Doctors are already vigilant when it comes to giving people new medications so they can look for side effects/allergic reactions. And in a world of fuckery Quirks, they're extra vigilant because while they can predict an allergic reaction, they can't always predict how someone's Quirk will react to medications.
Now because the times when she's under those kind of major sedatives or something would already be heavily monitored(for example, being put under anesthesia for surgery), this isn't going to be as much of a problem.
What /will/ be a problem is finding medication for the more day-to-day. Any kind of pain medication, antidepressants/anti-anxiety meds, or even if she does hrt for the trans stuff? All of that is going to have to be checked for anything that would throw off her blood pressure and see if her body can adapt to it and regulate itself again, or if she needs to try a different medication.
While this is a natural process for any medication, it does come with more direct risk to her in the immediate.

I don't like to share financial struggles on here but, I have always made a point of being transparent as possible too. So let me tell yall frankly. I am 1-2 months away from not being able to pay any of my bills including rent. the new medication I have to switch to bc of the national shortage is $182 per month. I don't know how im going to afford it. The one i switched to already and have been paying for has had no effect at all. I have had doctor's visits every few weeks for various health issues since March and no insurance since January. My student loans have unpaused and I have been paying them for several months now. I was laid off from one of my jobs this year and the other was paused when my family member I was caregiving for passed away. I have another caregiving job now but it doesn't pay nearly enough for all my bills, medical expenses, and food. I am in the red every month and what I have saved will not last much longer.
Regardless of all this, I still do not paywall my cc, even early access, and I do not ask for donations. I took up curseforge because it seemed like a good place to host my files, and then was pleasantly surprised by the small amount of money I was able to get from it every month or so. This money doesn't even touch my expenses and will not even be enough to pay for my meds anymore. It ranges from $50-200 over the course of several months depending if I am active enough to post any cc or not. Any of you that are independent know that this is nothing in terms of the current cost of living. I haven't even received my payment from last month yet and as soon as I do it is already spent. If I had any leeway at all, I would have already deleted my cc from there, but the gravity of the situation right now is... extremely high. If I deleted it now, I probably wouldn't even get the money I already earned there, as it is still in process. And I cannot risk that. What i can do is not upload anything new to their website in the meantime. But I cannot delete my old uploads.
I have spent most of my life being vocal about social justice issues. I have donated very often to the causes i cared about, spoken to people both irl and online to raise awareness despite being in an area where it is dangerous to do so, done volunteer work, and hosted fundraising efforts. Especially getting conflicting info on whether or not Overwolf is actually supporting the IDF or just victims of the terrorist attacks as they say. It's all complicated, confusing, and heartbreaking. And even so, I am boycotting in the terms of not uploading new stuff to there and offering alternate download links for my old stuff. And when I am able, I will eliminate curseforge completely. But I hope this helps anyone understand why it's not gone immediately and what my current perspective is.

Okay, it's the last day of CC, and I don't think I'm gonna try for higher risks, so here's the highest that I got. Getting this high was a bit of a process. First off, I managed to get up to risk 23 while only relying on Mudrock's s2, but had to switch to her s3 so that those sarkaz that get powered up when hit by the altars don't shred her (there's only so much her sarkaz resistance can do here) and once I did switch to that, I got up to risk 25. Risk 26 took some tries that eventually led to me changing the timing on Chalter's and Gavialter's skill, but that eventually led to success as well. Don't think I wanna try for more, especially with the bar looking that nice as is, so here's to the finale of CC!
