So I was rewatching this scene and I happened to take a look at the book Hibiki is studying and...

Those are matrices.

Are they teaching linear algebra at Lydian? No wonder this hamster is always late on her assignments, that's like a junior-level college course!

Hibiki Tachibana - Symphogear

I love how Hibiki handles her symphogear so roughly. Straight up breaking off the heels to get a better stance. Punching with her armed gear energy instead of summoning it. And now in ep9 pulling back the thing on her gauntlet to punch even harder. She's forcing it to fit her fighting style. And I think that's very fitting for a character who's meant to be unwavering with her ideals.

I like to think these images are complementary. Like, Hibiki and Miku drag Chris through their jock activities, she hates it, but goes through because she knows it makes them happy. Then when they get home Miku prepare sweets for Chris as a treat. Hibiki insists on handfeeding Chris every time by saying she needs to rest. Chris pretends to be annoyed, but loves every second of it. Miku films her girlfriends, her cellphone's gallery is mostly videos of them being cute.

I commissioned Yu Enmi (https://vgen.co/yuenmi) to make this comic based on Chapter 4 of the XDU story BAYONET CHARGE, "Assault on Vimana."

It's the most action heavy sequence in the whole storyline and I really wanted to actually have illustrated all of the action that they were implying when the character portraits mashed up against each other.

Some things have been abridged to make the comic a slim 22 pages long and also to make it a story that can stand mostly on its own.
