*April 2nd, 1982*
I had been invited over to Freddie’s place along with the other boys just to do a little catching up.  Ever since my big break out, I had recorded my single “Set it all free” plus my very first album which took about three months to finish up, had it not been for the boys coming over to help me I might’ve burned myself out and probably want to crawl in under a rock and die.
My single had been recorded while the guys were still on tour and was released last October when I was still recording my first album.  I still have yet to hear the results of my single and I was getting worried that if no one world wide liked it, would they even like my first album.
“Darling your as jumpy as a cricket, what’s gotten you so frightened darling?”
“Guys, how long was it to hear the results of your first single?”
“Oh it was awhile love, the longest we had to wait was maybe 8-9 months.” Answered Brian.
“You worried about yours?” asked Deacy. I looked down shamefully and told them.
“I mean sure America loved the song, but what about the rest of the world? I mean
.sure there are female singers out there now but—what if they don’t like me because it’s just me and not an entire band I’m performing with?”
        “Then fuck them.” Proclaimed Freddie.
“I agree with Fred, you’re incredibly talented love, and we’re not just saying that because we’re your friends. We’re speaking as four musicians to another rising one. You sing what the world needs to hear but refuses to acknowledge it. Even if the world doesn’t love your music, we will always love it, as well as you.” Roger said as he came up behind me and wrapped an arm around me.
I smiled softly and placed my hands on his arm as I felt him kiss my temple and I thanked him.  Freddie’s phone soon rang and he picked it up and said.
“Freddie Mercury darling, oh Miami what a pleasant surprise, couldn’t resist hearing my voice could you?” We all rolled our eyes at Fred and soon he continued, “Yeah she’s right here, okay I’ll put her on,” he held the phone out to me and he said, “He wants to talk to you darling,” suddenly my heart began to speed up as I got out of Roger’s one armed hug and took the phone.
“Hey, Jim what’s up?” I held the phone close to my ear as I paced around and said, “Uh-huh, yeah
.okay. Yeah, uh-huh okay thanks. Yeah you too, bye.” I then hung up the phone and I collapsed onto Fred’s couch right where Delilah was sitting.
“What’d he say love?” asked Deacy.
“Was it your single? Did you sell out?” demanded Freddie.  I remained silent trying to take what Miami had told me all in.
“(Y/n)? Love are you okay? Is it bad news?” asked Roger in pure concern as he looked at me with worried eyes.  I finally then decided to tell them by first asking a question.
“Tell me what it was like when you guys went to Japan back in ’75?”
“Ohh I still get tears remembering our welcome there. We just had no idea what to expect and the sheer amount of people that came to welcome us was just overwhelming.” Brian said.
“Why do you ask?” asked Deacy.
“Well you guys got some competition because my single just sold out in Japan. They want me to perform live in Tokyo, Japan!” The boys all cheered as Freddie picked me up spinning me around leaving me in a laughing fit as I embraced him as tightly as I could.
I was soon engulfed in a Queen group hug as they all cheered for me.  Once I was free Brian said.
Tumblr media
“That’s incredible love, when do you leave?”
“Oh shit I gotta go home and pack! Jim’s hoping to get the first nonstop flight to Japan tonight. Sorry gotta cut this visit short you guys, I’ll call you as soon as I reach Japan bye!” I quickly raced out of Freddie’s house and got on my bike and revved it up before taking off back to my flat.
Once I got home, I began packing up for the week tour of Japan.  Packing all my clothes, hats, heath and beauty stuff, shoes and minor accessories like a couple of rings, my fingerless gloves, bracelets and necklaces.  When I was sure I had everything I heard a limo honk and I knew my ride was here.
Grabbing my suitcases and a couple of my guitars, I opened my door and soon my stage handler Hank came up and helped me pack up the stuff into the limo.  José my driver opened up the door and I thanked him as I stepped inside to see Miami sitting inside the back.
“Hello (y/n), so you got everything?”
“I’m pretty sure. Oh my god I can’t believe this is really happening. I mean the last time I went to Japan I was still your intern, now I’m one of your many clients.”
“It’s unbelievable how much has changed. And I couldn’t be more proud of you, I knew I chose right when I picked you. I knew you’d become more than just an intern to me one day.” I smiled at him and then Jim told JosĂ© to get us to the airport.
We reached the airport and for the first time ever, I would get to experience a private airline where I am the star and not just part of the crew.  The limo stopped right by the plane that I would be taking all the way to Japan.
“Alright now just head on straight into the plane, I’ll take care of everything with the rest of the crew. You just find a seat okay love?” I nodded then our doors opened up and I went out first and raced towards the plane and quickly raced up the stairs until I reached the plane.
“Good afternoon Miss, I’m Captain Trevor and I will be your pilot for the nonstop flight to Japan. You will be in safe hands with us Ms. (l/n).”
“Thank you Captain Trevor.” I saluted to him before walking further in the plane and see the luxurious interior of the plane. I picked me a spot and one of the flight attendants came up to me and said.
“Can I offer you any refreshments Ms. (l/n)?”
“I’ll just take a water for now,” she nodded then went to the back room to get my drink.  Jim soon came in with a few more assistants who were going to help me get through the airport.
“You ready love?” asked Jim.  I nodded as I fastened my seatbelt and soon the flight attendants went over the basic checklists for safety procedures and within about 5-10 minutes we were taking off.
I was currently reading my old English-Japanese dictionary that I had to have for a class for my foreign language credit I still had to take and practiced some basic greets that I was going to say.  Hours ticked by and soon it was getting pretty late and there was still about 6hrs left of the 11hr flight so I decided to sleep the rest of the trip.
As I got myself situated, I pulled out my locket that I always kept around my neck and opened it up to reveal the picture of me with the boys at the Madison Square Garden show.  This picture was taken right after the concert after my first outbreak performance.
“I already miss you guys, I sure wish you could be here.” I closed the locket up and tucked it back under my shirt and covered myself up with my favorite blanket and soon fell fast asleep.
After six hours at 4am in the morning, we arrived at Japan.  Jim woke me up and I got myself woken up so that way I wouldn’t risk any embarrassing photos of me getting out.  I re-did my makeup and eat me some M&M’s to get myself woken up since they always did the trick for me.
Our plane landed right at Tokyo International airport right in the private plane landing parking lot.  I grabbed my bags and we all left the plane and headed on inside the airport.
We met up with the representatives of Japan as well as my translator.
“Ms. (l/n) I am Yamamoto Kaizo your translator, it is a pleasure to meet you. My daughters are big fans of yours.”
“Arigato Yamamoto, I’m honored. And I can’t wait to see all of Japan, my friends of Queen spoke so highly of this country so many times.”
“Come on (y/n) the car’s waiting to get us to the hotel to drop off your things, then we need to get you ready for the press conference.” Jim said.  I nodded then we all raced down the hallways out of the gates.
And as soon as I could be seen coming out of the gates all I heard were loud screams.  Over my security I saw hundreds of pictures from some of my photoshoots that I’ve been involved in, signs with my name saying “Welcome” or the word “Rock” with two angel wings sprouting out either side of the word.
Oh my god Brian was right, I felt like I was about ready to cry.  No other place in the world has ever greeted me like this, I mean it’s almost as if I were suddenly royalty to them now.  I waved to them and I wished that I could stop and sign autographs for them but I was on a tight schedule and they wouldn’t allow me as I was rushed out of the airport and into the car.
Crowds of Japanese fangirls and boys were trying to get through hoping to even catch a glimpse of me, press were snapping pictures like crazy and security was trying to keep them back as I finally got in the limo and was in the safe zone and the driver took off.
I waved to them and I saw some of the fans trying to chase after the car and I leaned back sighing deeply as I said.
“Wow that was
.insane.”
“Life of a Rockstar love, I’m sure the boys have told you a lot about Japan” said Miami.
“That they have, okay now this press conference. What exactly do I have to do for it?”
“Alright, well first they’ll talk about a bit about your history and then we’ll open it up for a brief Q&A. Then they will present to you a platinum of your single just like they did with the boys when they sold out here back in 75, then they’ve invited you for a traditional Japanese tea ceremony where you will give Japan a thank you message and to help promote more people for coming to the concert which will happen tonight at the center of the capital right near the Tokyo tower.” I nodded and soon we arrived at the hotel where we quickly got checked in and I did a quick shower.
Once I was done and blow dried my hair up and straightened it out.  When I was presentable and cleaned up I redid my makeup and quickly raced out of my room and met Jim downstairs in the lobby and we left for the press conference together.
We arrived at the building at around 8:15am and the conference was to start at 9.  I was staying in the back room where I finally got the chance to meet my Japanese fans. Some of the girls were dressed up like me with the same leather jacket, long flapped jeans and having highlights in their hair.
I happily signed all their stuff and I was given so many presents like bouquets upon bouquets of roses red or white, Japanese yo-yos, a spinning top, painting of me as an angel holding a guitar shooting out bolts of lighting, just so many sweet gifts and I thanked them all in Japanese which all the girls were amazed and clapped for me smiling.
Finally at 9am sharp, the press conference began. I left the backroom and was guided towards the front and as soon as the doors opened and I walked onto the platform stage where a large table was set up for me, I was bombarded by flashes from cameras.  As I took my seat the press conference began.
As the conference went on just like Miami said, I told them about my process of making the single, what the song meant to me (without giving too much detail, even though I could publicly humiliate Adam at this rate but I didn’t want to.) and then what was next for me.
I was then given by one of the top record producers of Japan a large framed platinum cover of my single “Set it all free” to which we shook hands and we posed for pictures with it.  At around 11:30am the conference was over and I was then taken out to a park near the Tokyo tower where I would be taking part of the tea ceremony, just like the boys were.
We finally arrived at about 12:20pm and I was one hungry girl, but I still wanted to be respectful.  Women in traditional Japanese kimonos surrounded the blanket along with photographers and camera crew people.
I took off my shoes and I sat down on the blanket and one of the girls came over to me and set down my tea as another one was instructing me the proper way to drink their tea.
It was a nice spring day, the cheery blossoms were in full bloom, the wind was blowing at a nice, gentle breeze and I was given some cakes and tea.  All the while the photographers were getting pictures for their magazine and the camera crew were filming me.  I was talking to the girls asking them questions about Japan and what other traditions they partake in.
They were friendly and told me all the tea ceremonies they helped out in for the summer festivals, the cherry blossom festival, and they themselves told me this but these girls also gave my boys the exact tea ceremony they were giving me right now.
After the ceremony I was playing with some of my presents and taking pictures of the beautiful park for my own keeping so that one day I could look back on this and remember exactly what Japan had done for me. Finally it was time for my thank you message before I got ready for the concert tonight.
I stood where the camera people wanted me to stand and they emphasized to me repeatedly to not turn around, just look right at the camera and not look at anything else.  At first I was a little scared at the fact the man kept emphasizing it and looking me dead in the eye as he said it, so I did what he asked.
Once the camera started filming I gave my message to the people of Japan.
“Kon'nichiwa Nihon, watashi wa (l/n) (y/n). Hopefully I said that right hahaha. Anyways I just want to thank all of you for such a warm welcome to Japan. You all have been so kind and I can’t repay for making me feel so comfortable. Thanks for all the presents,” I said as I held up my yoyo, “And umm—”
Little did I know as I began my message, someone with shaggy blonde hair was photobombing me in the background going across the shot with his arms raised in the air.
Tumblr media
“I hope you all come out to see the concert later tonight or any show that I’ll do in the near future. Heck I may just even move here.” As I continued, two men one with wild curly hair like a poodle and another with shorter poofy hair both came up behind me and crouched down so that they wouldn’t be seen in the shot.
The poodle haired fellow raised his arms up like wings while the other one kept his arms low, so the shot would look like I had two different wings in the back. Before peeking out on either side of me and making funny faces or sticking out their tongues.
For some reason I kept feeling someone was behind me so I quickly turned around and let out a squeak and laughed as did the rest of the crew.  I fell to my knees laughing and crying at the same time.  John picked me up and held me in his arms swaying me back and forth as Freddie came into the shot and he said.
“Come see this lovely angel perform tonight. She is a saint and a true angel. Let her grace you with her wonderful voice darlings. She has the Queen seal of approval.”  With that the camera shut off.  I turned and hugged Deacy as tightly as I could before I separated and I said.
“What are you guys doing here?”
“Did you really think we’d miss you making it as big as we did here in Japan?” asked Brian.
“Plus Miami called us and thought we’d give you a good surprise so—surprise!” Freddie said as he did the jazz hands at the end of his statement.
“Oh my God!” I cried out. “You lot better not have made me look stupid in that video.”
“Oh you wound us darling, why would we ever do that to you deliberately?” Roger said as he came up and wrapped his arms around me swaying me just like Deacy did earlier before playfully giving me a noogie and bopping my nose.  I shook my head at him as he hugged me closer to him before releasing me.
After the tea ceremony it was time to head to the concert arena and do soundchecks and get ready for my concert at 6pm. After going over and making sure everything checked out, I was now in my makeup room getting all pretty for my show when I heard the door knock.
“Who is it?”
“(Y/n) (l/n) Rock angel fan club, party of 4.” I heard Freddie’s voice say.  I smiled and said.
“Come right on in.” The boys entered inside my huge dressing room and Freddie made himself comfortable right on the couch.
“You nervous darling?” he asked me.
“A bit.” I admitted.
“Well don’t be, you’ll do great, you always bring the rock in Rock n roll, especially to the younger fans since you know how to connect with them.” I smiled at him and then I turned to see Brian holding up a long wrapped up present.
“What’s that Bri?”
“Just a little something for you.” He handed it over to me and I set it down on the table in front of the couch and I asked him.
“Can I open it now or do I have to wait till after the concert?”
“I’d really love to see you open it now.” He said. I knelt down and began to rip up the paper slowly.
“Come on love are we saving the wrapping paper just rip it off!” Roger teased which made me laugh as I took a big chunk of the wrapping paper and threw it at him which made the boys laugh.  After ripping the last of it off, there in front of me was a black case.  I looked up at Brian before unbuckling it and slowly opening it up and I let out a gasp.
Inside was a red special guitar.  At first I almost thought it was his own red special since it was the exact same pattern of red and black design but I noticed that at the red portion tattooed in black into the guitar itself was the word ROCK with angel wings on either side.
“Ohh
.”
“It took a while to make it with the time I had, I
..was almost afraid I wouldn’t have it ready in time. Give it a go,” I delicately took the red special out of the case and adjusted the strap to my size and held onto it before giving it a gentle strum.
After giving it a couple of tunes and strumming it until finally it gave out a beautiful hum.
“Oh Brian this
..this is the sweetest thing anyone’s ever done for me.” I set my red special back in the case and sat up and hugged him tightly, burying my face into his chest.  “Thank you so much.”
“I’m glad you like it love, it would be an honor if you were to play with that red special tonight for Japan.”
“Of course, I’ll play it at every performance I’ll ever do. Ohh I love you guys I’m so glad you all came.” The boys soon wrapped me in a group hug as I happily wept and as we separated I whimpered out, “Fuck now my makeups ruined.” The boys laughed so Deacy guided me back to my chair, Brian took the wipes and wiped away any strays of makeup and both Roger and Freddie reapplied my makeup making me all pretty again.
A knock was soon heard and one of the stage crew members told me that it was showtime.  I grabbed my newly gifted red special and I put it around my shoulder and the boys and I walked out onto the stage.  I stood backstage getting myself pumped up as the boys gave me final words of good luck until finally a Japanese announcer came over the speaker and I heard my stage name being called and I came onto the stage hearing thousands of people scream my name.
And with that the concert began.
I sang “Set it all free” and seeing all the Japanese girls bouncing up and down singing along to the song even though they probably didn’t know English, it made me feel so happy inside.  And by permission as long as I didn’t give too much away, I was allowed to do one song from my new upcoming album so I sang a song that I titled “So good.”
Which felt like the perfect song since it was all about shining through in the spotlight even after having the dream of reaching for your dreams, but you had to have the courage and strength to achieve them.
I also went ahead and sang a couple of my favorite Queen songs just to show my boys my love for them.  I sang my all-time favorite “Somebody to love”, my next cover song was “Don’t stop me now” and finally to end the show I did “You’re my best friend” and I even told the audience that I dedicated this cover to my boys of Queen.
After the end of the concert everyone cheered loudly holding up signs of my name or of my stage name.
“Arigato Nihon! You’ve been a great crowd!” I said into the microphone as I took my final bow and ran off stage.  I met up with the guys who each one by one embraced me and gave me a kiss of congratulations on either my cheek, temple, forehead or the top of my head.
The boys and I stayed in Japan for the rest of the week exploring all of Japan.  The boys taking me to their favorite places or restaurants they ate in years ago.  And I did a show in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.  To show my love for the boys, I had them come up on a couple of songs and I performed alongside them and let me tell you sharing the stage with them, that’s what truly made me alive.
And singing alongside Fred on some of their songs, it’s a blast and an honor when Freddie Mercury allows you to take the stage and sing a verse of a Queen song.
At the end of the short Japan tour it was time to go home.  The boys and I waved goodbye to Japan and took final pictures together of us both getting on and in the plane.
Of course Fred high-jacked the camera and wouldn’t stop taking pictures of me all the while acting like a photographer telling me to show him the stuff and to work it like I owned this plane.
As we were now in the air, Deacy and Bri were already out like lightbulbs while Fred was reading through a magazine and I was sitting next to Roger now.
“Does it only go up from here?” I asked myself.
“So long as you keep giving the fans what they want, you’re already the talk of the world love, just make sure you don’t get a big head like Fred over there.” He whispered the last part which made me giggle softly.
“I promise Rog, I’ll stay humble and not act like a hysterical queen.”
“Good, cause god knows we don’t need another one.”
“Oh so you’re not talking about yourself?” I teased. He glared at me before flicking my forehead making me whimper out “ow! I was joking.” I rubbed the spot where he had flicked me and he smirked at me.
“Serves you right.” I rolled my eyes at him before letting out a soft yawn.  “You’ve had a long week love, you should get some sleep.”
“Yeah you’re right.” I then got myself comfortable by leaning up against his chest and he immediately brought my blanket back over my shoulders and wrapped his arms around me.  One hand stroking my head while the other wrapped around my shoulders gently stroking my arms with his thumb.
I could hear him softly humming “Somebody to love” all the while he’d kiss the top of my head every now and then until finally I fell asleep to Roger’s humming, the sound of his heartbeat and the gentle strokes and massages he was giving to my head.

The Never Wilting Flower Crown
Asriel was being unusually chipper that day, which was saying something. The monster prince was normally filled with nauseatingly optimistic energy. But today, it was worse than usual. Chara wondered if he had forgotten someone’s birthday or some important monster holiday.
“C’mon Char,” Asriel ushered him along, pulling him by the arm. Chara wiped his eyes, still half asleep.
“Uh...could this not have waited until noon?”
Asriel gave Chara an are you serious? face, “Dude, it’s almost two in the afternoon.”
“Fine. Change my previous statement to five.”
“Told you that you shouldn’t stay up ‘till three in the morning playing super smash bros.”
“You would have stayed up as well, if you hadn’t fallen asleep right in the middle of the game.” Chara teased, enjoying Asriel’s flustered reaction.
Asriel bleated in indignation. Chara was absolutely thrilled at the chance to tease Asriel for his goat-like habits, but as he opened his mouth, Asriel led them down a different corridor.
Chara raised an eyebrow, “Why are we heading to the gardens?”
“I have a surprise for you!” Asriel declared cheerfully.
“You? A surprise?” Chara was dumbfounded. “You actually managed to keep something secret from me?”
“Yes,” Asriel sounded absurdly proud of himself.
Chara was a little proud as well. Asriel was positively terrible at keeping secrets. He had gotten them into trouble many times with their mother because of his inability to keep their schemes to himself. Perhaps Chara was starting to rub off on him a little.
They made it to the gardens, which was one of Chara’s favorite places in the castle. Every plant imaginable grew there, including some magical ones. The only plant missing were Echo Flowers, which seemed to only be able to grow in Waterfall. The plants grew all over the ground and up the stone columns, almost reaching the open ceiling. Holes from the cavern ceiling above them allowed natural sunlight to shine down on the garden.
The royal gardeners were swarming around the gardens. Chara had learned early on that what he thought were bees were actually small monsters that resembled large bees. He had to apologize for swatting at one during his first visit to the gardens.
One of the royal gardeners bowed at them as they passed. “My princes,” the bee monster buzzed.
Asriel nodded his head in acknowledgment. After a moment, Chara did the same. He was still unused to being called a prince. His official coronation as a prince of monsters was still a few days away. However, that didn’t stop many monsters from already referring to him as their prince.
“So what is this surprise?” Chara asked, trying not to seem too interested.
“Uh-uh,” Asriel shook his head, causing his ears to flop. “I’m not telling you. It’d ruin the surprise.”
Chara pouted. He did not like not knowing things. However, Asriel looked absolutely excited, so Chara supposed he would let him have his moment.
Asriel led him to the back of the gardens, where the head gardener, Apoidea, was watering some buttercups. She was supposedly the mother of all of the  bee monsters. She was older than Asgore, having served his father. When she wasn’t hunched over, she stood at over six feet tall. She was human shaped with bee features, with her black and yellow skin, and antennae.
She smiled around her mandibles, “Hello, my little princelings.” Her voice, like the other bee monsters, had an underlying buzzing tone in it.
“Hi, Apoidea.” Asriel greeted, bouncing on the heels of his feet. “Can you bring out the surprise.”
Apoidea frowned, “Princeling, that is supposed be revealed at the human’s coronation.”
“Aha!” Chara exclaimed, pointing at Asriel. “I knew you couldn’t keep anything a secret. You’re trying to spoil it right now.”
Asriel turned beet red. “Do you want to see it or not?”
“Of course,” Chara admitted without an ounce of shame. “I won’t leave it alone now until I know what it is.”
“Please, Apoidea,” Asriel begged, using his puppy dog eyes. “Can’t we just have a peek?”
Apoidea sighed, “I have never been able to resist those eyes. Wait a moment.” She released a series of buzzing noises. Some of the gardeners stopped, and flew off. They returned moments later, carrying what appeared to be a flower crown. They gave it to Apoidea before flying back to their work.
“A flower crown,” Chara raised an eyebrow. “That’s the big surprise? We make when Mom and Dad force us to have family time in the gardens.”
“But this isn’t an ordinary flower crown!” Asriel protested.
“No?” Chara said, doubtful. It sure looked like a flower crown to him.
“The princeling is right,” Apoidea confirmed. “This crown is meant for your coronation.”
That peaked Chara’s interest. This was the crown he was to be given when he officially became a prince? It was made out of his favorite golden flowers. But then he frowned. He had hoped that he would be given a crown that would last, not one that he could only wear for a week at best.
“That’s not even the best part,” Asriel’s excited outburst broke Chara from his melancholic thoughts. “This is a magic crown!”
“Magic?” Chara was still getting used to the fact that magic even existed. It was a complete culture shock to see monsters use it so casually in their everyday lives. Pretty much everything in the Underground involved magic in some way.
“That’s right, my princeling to be,” Apoidea said. “I enchanted it myself. This flower crown shall never wilt. It shall remain as beautiful for all of eternity.”
Chara stared at the crown, his eyes wide.
“It was my idea,” Asriel proclaimed proudly. “Mom and Dad wanted to get you one like mine, but I thought you’d like this better.”
He turned to Asriel, frowning, “But you already gave me a gift.” He pulled out his heart locket from underneath his shirt.
Asriel tilted his head, “Yeah, but I can get you more than one gift, Char. Showing how much you care doesn’t get cut off after one act.”
Chara didn’t have much to say to that. He reached out to touch one of the petals, but Apoidea pulled it back.
“It was only a peek,” She reminded them sternly. “You’ll have to wait until your coronation to actually wear it.”
“Aww,” Asriel whined.
Chara put his hand on the goat boy’s shoulder, “It’s alright Azzy. I don’t mind waiting.”
“So, you were surprised?” He looked so hopeful.
Chara smiled, “Yes, I was. It was a very pleasant surprise.”
Asriel cheered. Inwardly, Chara matched his enthusiasm. He couldn’t wait for his coronation.
                                                                -
Shnk cher, shnk cher, shnk cher.
Frisk groaned, putting the shovel down. “Why am I digging this up again?” She asked the apparition floating beside her.
Chara huffed, “I told you. There is something that I want. Now, keep digging.”
“Keep digging, he says,” Frisk muttered, resuming digging into the flower patch underneath the giant gaping hole above her head. “My name’s Chara, and I’m the boss of everything.”
“I can hear you.” He said, annoyed.
“Oh, I wasn’t trying to be quiet.”
“Just keep digging.”
So she did, grumbling to herself. Chara was always odd, and he hardly ever told her his reasons behind doing things. However, at times like this, his refusal to explain himself infuriated her.
Chunk
Her shovel hit something. She took some of the dirt off of it to reveal the skeletal remains of a hand.
Frisk screamed, scrambling back out of the hole she had made.
“Why am I digging up a skeleton?” She screamed. “Are we freeing some of Sans’ relatives?”
Chara made a disgusted face, “As if we’d do anything for that trash bag. No, this isn’t a monster.”
“Oh, so we’re digging up an actual skeleton,” Frisk said dryly. “That makes it so much better.”
“Find the head.”
“Wha-ARE YOU CRAZY? I’M NOT TOUCHING ITS HEAD! THAT’S CREEPY!” Frisk yelled.
“Oh, for the love of...would you just do it?” Chara snapped. “Or give me control and I’ll do it myself.”
“Oh, uh-uh mister,” Frisk glared at him. “We are not doing that creepy possession thing again. This is my body and I’ll keep it, thank you very much.”
“Then just dig it up.”
“Ugh, fine.” Frisk would rather deal with a dead head than risk Chara trying to wrestle control from her again.
It took some maneuvering, but Frisk managed to brush the dirt off of the skeletal head. It was completely decomposed, leaving nothing but the white of bone behind. Except, the skeleton seemed to have a crown of flowers resting on its head.
“What this?” Frisk picked up the flowers, brushing the dirt off of them. They were pretty golden flowers, and surprisingly in well condition.
“It’s a flower crown,” Chara informed her. “I thought even an idiot like you would have known that.”
“HEY!”
“Let’s go back to the house before anyone notices we left,” Chara said, turning around.
“Wait a minute,” Frisk cried out. “Aren’t you going to tell me who this is or what this was about?”
“No. Now, let’s go.” He floated off.
Frisk groaned in frustration. Why was Chara like this? She climbed out of the whole, tucking the flower crown carefully underneath her arm. She turned back to look at the skeleton.
“Whoever you are, I hope you didn’t suffer,” She prayed quietly. “I hope you’re at peace.”
With that, she took off after Chara.

A present
Pairing: Nalu
Words: 909
Rating: T for swearing
A/n: Hey guys! This is a Secret Santa story in well, hum... February. Long story short, it’s the (replacement) gift for @fairy--light! I hope you’ll enjoy it
Natsu looked at Lucy, with more fear in his eyes than she had ever seen. He totally deserved that, she thought. If Natsu just got his Secret Santa gift for Juvia when she told him to do so, they wouldn’t be shopping on Christmas Eve.
“So do you even have close to an idea to what you should get her? I’m not gonna pick your gift again, you need to learn how to be responsible,” Lucy said. “That’s not fair! I gave you an idea for Gajeel gift!” Natsu exclaimed. “Are you kidding me? You told me to get him a body-pillow with Levy on it!” Lucy quickly hit Natsu with her bag, already tired of his “great ideas”.
“That was a brilliant idea! How dare -” noticing that Lucy was about to hit him again, he quickly changed subjects “- Well anyway, I was thinking of an aquarium? With you know
fishes and shit.” Lucy just stared at him “I can give you 100 reasons right now why that idea sucks.”
She sighed “Juvia loves to bake and craft, try finding a nice gift in that theme.” “Damn babe, that’s super smart! We should go to that craft store you love, the one in Lilia street.” Lucy smiled, happy that Natsu remembered the store she used to go.
The store, usually so calm, was crazy. Lucy didn’t even know that so many people could fit in  the store. “Okay Natsu, your job is to find something good while I-” Lucy noticed this little chair where, by miracle, nobody was sitting “- While I’ll sit there.” “You were serious about that responsibility thing? Come on Luce, you can’t let me do this alone! You know how much I suck at picking gifts.” Lucy shook her head “First of all, you don’t suck at gifts. You always get mine right! And yes, you’re on your own,” She said with a smirk.
It’s been 45 minutes. Forty-five minutes and all Natsu did was show her a spatula and screaming to her across the store “LOOK LUCY, I FOUND THE PERFECT GIFT, SHE’LL LOVE IT!!!” After she clearly explained to him that ‘no, that’s not a good gift, that’s not even a gift you idiot’ he seemed to continue to search and left her alone. She was starting to worry that he got distracted and even left the store. She sighed... what would he have gotten himself  into this time?
“Hey Luce, I found something!” Lucy looked up to see Natsu almost jumping from excitement. He grabbed her arm and took her to the back of the store. “What do you think about this?” He was standing in front of what seemed to be a roll of white fabric. “Natsu, this is just some tissue. Give me one good reason to buy this for Juvia.” Natsu smiled and almost looked happy that Lucy asked him. “Well, Gray and Juvia are engaged yeah? And you know Juvia, she’ll make her wedding dress herself.” Lucy nodded, getting where this was going. “So I called Gray and asked him if she had made any sketches and choices for the dress. He told me she choose this colour as a base, but hadn’t the fabric bought yet.” Lucy leaned in closer. “That’s really cute -” She kissed him “- now let’s go home and wrap our gifts. We still have a lot to do before going to the guilds Christmas party.”
“Tonight was really nice, don’t you think?” Lucy asked, while putting her earrings in the bathroom.
“For you! I got a fucking portrait of a goldfish! I swear to god, I don’t see why Juvia loves Popsicle, he’s such a jerk!” Natsu scoffed while Lucy tried not to laugh. “You’re such a drama queen! He got you a super nice barbecue set next to it, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t like it.” She came out of the bathroom and went to Natsu, that was lying on their bed. He was still pouting and if Lucy was being honest, it was pretty cute. “I’m gonna get your gift mister mad, hopefully that’ll cheer you up”
She came back with a small box and handed it over to him. She was really hoping he would like it, because it took her weeks before finally deciding on what she’d give him. Natsu opened the box and smiled. “You’re the best at this Luce! How did you know I wanted new piercings? They look so good!” Natsu looked closer at Lucy’s gift. “Are those flames earrings? I love them Luce!” Natsu hugged her and placed a soft kiss on her forehead her. “Time for me to go get your gift!” He exclaimed and he ran to the kitchen, leaving Lucy alone in the bedroom.
Lucy smiled when she saw her gift: it was a small necklace with a little locket. When she opened it, there wasn’t one picture, but a lot appearing on after the other. “I asked Freed to enchant it,” Natsu explained. After a few seconds, Lucy realised there weren’t
only pictures of her and Natsu: the wold guild was in her new necklace. “It’s so your family is always with you” Natsu said while looking at her. Lucy was starting to tear up “It’s beautiful, I love it” Natsu grinned “Only the best for ya, the strongest mage of fairy tail!”
Lucy smiled and simply said “I love you, you know that?
Hope you enjoyed it!

Had to Give You Away: Part 2B (Lin/Reader)
Summary:  Lin was the foundation on which you built your life, until he wasn’t anymore. The two of you decide to rebuild.
You can find the first part here. You can find Part 2A here.
Note: This is the happy ending! A huge thank you to @thatoneimaginesblog and @fragmentofmymind for reading this as it progressed.
Word Count: 3172
Not for the first time in your life, you were running late. You could hear your family milling around downstairs waiting on you, and you winced as you sat down to slip on your shoes and finish getting dressed.
Today was big, and like on every important day before it, you reached into your jewelry box for your old locket. You held the necklace in your hand and allowed yourself a moment to gaze at the family photos littering your vanity. Birthdays, Christmases, anniversaries. Almost twenty years later, and the thought of how different your life could have been still rattled you.
It had been nearly a week since you told Lin you couldn't come home to him. You were still hiding out in your old apartment and every day was more agonizing than the last. The pain was physical and you were doing little more than sleepwalking through your life. He would be going back to London tomorrow, and you prayed that the distance was what you needed to feel at least semi-human again.
You heard a knock on your door, and you recognized it as the rhythm Lin always tapped on the bathroom door to hurry you up when you were getting ready for a night out. That felt like another life now.
Your heart was in your throat as you flipped the lock and came face to face with Lin. He looked like he hadn't slept in days, but there was a glint in his eyes.
"Hey," he said with a small smile.
"Hi, Lin," you said in return, wanting so badly to reach out and touch him.
You had no idea what he had come over to say, and your stomach was in knots as he took a deep breath and began to speak.
"I've been turning our conversation over and over in my head. You said you can't be my life. I reject that. I get to decide what I want my life to be, and I choose you. So, I've made a decision. We're not getting divorced." He said it so matter-of-factly that he might as well have been telling you the weather.
You let out a small laugh of disbelief at his statement.
 "Lin-"
"Not without at least trying to save this," he cut you off. "I love you and you love me. We have to at least try."
You were silent. God, you wanted to try, but what was really going to change?
"We'll talk every single day," he promised, somehow reading your mind and answering your unspoken question. "We'll eat dinner together on Skype. I don't care about the time difference, I'll eat every day at one in the morning if that's what it takes. I'll fly home every chance I get. We'll date all over again until I convince you this can work, and then we'll keep dating for the rest of our lives."
As he spoke, you could feel your heart start to lighten. So much of this last year had felt like you were losing your best friend one piece at a time. Here he was, standing in front of you and offering a plan to get him back. It took every speck of your willpower not to throw yourself at him and beg him to forget everything you had said.
"This has never been about not loving you, Lin. You know that. Those things might make it better, but it doesn't really solve any of our problems. You'll still be on another continent," you reasoned, trying to keep your voice level.
"Not forever. None of what you're talking about is forever. There are plenty of things I can do in New York. And if I had to travel, we could make it work. We could...I don't know, take turns with our careers and stick together wherever they take us. I'll never be happy no matter what I'm working on if it costs me you. Could you be? Really?"
You looked down at your feet, and he gently touched your cheek. What would a lifetime without ever feeling his hands on you again be like?
"If it doesn't work, at least we’ll know we did everything we could,” he continued. “I'm not
I'm not ready to say goodbye to you. That was never in my plan. Please.”
"Okay," you nodded, deciding in that moment to go against your better judgment and take a leap of faith. "Okay. Let's try. I want to try."
He looked so relieved that you could have cried. You reached out to take his hand and he pulled you into his arms instead. You spent his last night in New York together. Maybe it was naive to think so, but this time it felt like a beginning instead of a goodbye.
"Hey babe, are you about ready?"
Lin's voice shook you out of your memories and you smiled at him.
"Yup, just one last thing," you said, holding up the locket.
He walked behind you and gently moved your hair to one shoulder, securing the locket around your neck. He rested his hands on your arms and kissed the top of your head.
"Graduation day. Can you believe we're already here?" he asked.
You leaned against his chest and shook your head. "I really can't. Do you remember the day I told you she was coming?"
He raised an eyebrow at you, making you laugh. "How could I forget?"
It still wasn't easy having an ocean between you and your husband, but Lin had been keeping his word. You were both trying, and it was better.
You woke up to good morning texts, you coordinated your schedules to make sure you always had time to talk on the phone (even if it was only for a few minutes), and you both shared updates about all the little things you did during the day that never used to make your e-mails.
You were so wrapped up in finding your way back to Lin that you didn't notice how differently you were feeling. Not at first. It took less to tire you out, but you wrote that off as getting older and being so busy. You were a little bloated, too, and smells that usually didn't bother you at all suddenly seemed incredibly strong.
It wasn't until your period pulled a no-show that you put it all together.
You went straight to the drugstore and grabbed as many pregnancy tests as your arms could carry. You must have looked like a madwoman, hair wild and shoving money at a baffled looking cashier.
You took a test. It was positive. You chugged water and took two more. Positive, both of them.
You started laughing and crying simultaneously, not knowing whether to be elated or to roll your eyes at the timing of it all. You had begun to accept that a pregnancy just wasn't in the cards for you, and for it to finally be happening now? When your future still felt so up in the air?
Well, timing had never been your strong suit.
Still, a baby. A whole new person, part of you and part of Lin. You only noticed that you had been beaming when your cheeks started to hurt.
You fought with yourself about whether to tell Lin immediately or wait until your doctor's appointment to confirm it. You eventually settled on waiting. You knew how much Lin wanted children, and you didn't want to get his hopes up. It was only a few days. It could wait.
That plan immediately went out the window during that night's Skype call.
Lin's smiling face lit up your computer screen and before he could even say hello, you blurted it out.
 "I'm pregnant!"
His smile morphed into a look of shock.
"I mean, I think I am. I'm late, and I took a bunch of tests. I have a doctor's appointment, and I was going to wait to tell you but-"
"No, I'm glad you didn't!" he rushed to assure you. "I'm going to be a dad?"
You bit your lip and nodded. "I think so."
He clapped his hands and barked out a cheer, jumping out of his chair. He sat down and stood up several more times, making you laugh at his reaction. It seemed like the excitement had hit him all at once and his body didn't know what to do with it.
"I love you," he said, looking at you through the screen. "I wish I was there with you so badly."
"I wish you were here, too. But it won't be much longer until you're home, and we have our whole lives together after that."
You could see something light up behind his eyes at the certainty in your voice. He looked like the kid you met in the library all those years ago, and you felt a little like the girl you were back then, too. You both fell asleep with your Skype call running and your laptops on the bed next to you.
After finding out about the pregnancy, Lin doubled his efforts to make sure you felt he was connected and available to you. He was flying between New York and London so frequently that the poor guy barely knew what day it was most of the time.
You were well into your sixth month when Lin surprised you at the apartment.
“You didn't say you were coming home this week!” you exclaimed, dropping your jacket and pulling him in for a kiss.
“I didn't want to promise until I knew for sure, and then I thought I'd just tell you in person. I’m done with London. I wasn't going to let you go through these last months alone, so I worked a deal to get me home sooner. I might have to pop back for a few days if there are reshoots, but really, I'm all yours now.”
You celebrated with dinner and as you cuddled up with your husband in bed that night, you were overcome with gratitude for all life had given you.
Lin had propped his head up on his arm and was speaking softly to your bump. Your whole body felt warm at the sight.
"You know, we really need to nail down some names," you said, running your hand through his short hair.
"If you'd just agree to find out the sex, our job would be cut in half."
"I already know it's a girl, Lin. We've discussed this."
"Right," he said, playfully rolling his eyes at you. "I forgot I married a psychic."
"Well, that was very foolish of you," you teased back.
"Your mama's a crazy lady, baby," he whispered to your stomach. You flicked his ear and laughed.
 "Stop turning her against me!"
He dragged himself up and wrapped an arm around you.
"What do you think about the name Lorena?" he asked quietly.
You looked at him. "Lorena. That's pretty. Maybe...Lorena Grace?"
He repeated the name and it sounded like a song.
Three months later, you and Lin left the hospital with Lorena Grace bundled in your arms.
Lin took your hand and helped you up.
"Come on, we don't want to make her late," he said.
You walked down the stairs and saw Lorena in her cap and gown for the first time, leaving you momentarily breathless. She looked so grown up these days, barely a hint of the baby she used to be was left behind. She rolled her eyes when she saw you getting choked up but didn't object to you taking her hand.
"Okay, family of mine, everyone in the cab. We have a graduation to get to!"
Lin hustled everyone into the waiting cab and you managed to make it to the school on time.
Lorena gave you a quick kiss on the cheek before running backstage to meet her friends and to line up for the ceremony.
You found your parents and in-laws in the crowd and your entire clan found seats front and center.
All through the speeches, you couldn't tear your eyes away from your daughter. You felt so proud and so excited and so nostalgic. The familiar weight of Lin's hand on your leg felt like it was all that was anchoring you to the chair.
You allowed yourself a moment of pure joy when they called Lorena's name and she walked across the stage to receive her diploma. Your entire family burst into cheers despite the instructions to wait until every student had their name called ("They know the Mirandas aren't a quiet people, right?") and you were grateful that your mother was there to snap a photo just as Lorena shot you a smile, so similar to her father's.
As soon as the ceremony was over, your sons both took off to find their sister.
"Soon it'll be their graduation," remarked Lin.
"How dare you say that to me?" you asked, playfully widening your eyes and clutching your chest. "They'll be my babies forever."
It was a morning not long after Lorena's third birthday, and Lin was cooking breakfast. The smell of bacon wafted into your bedroom all the way from downstairs, and your stomach turned.
That was unusual. The last time bacon had bothered your stomach was when...oh.
You heard little feet running down the hallway and grunted as Lorena launched herself at you.
"Daddy cook breakfast," she informed you, using her ever-growing vocabulary.
"Do you think it's safe to eat?" you asked her, wrinkling your nose and making her giggle. "Come on, kid. You can test it for me."
You scooped her up and carried her into the kitchen.
"It's my two favorite girls," Lin said, looking up from the stove and smiling. "Bacon's almost done."
"I'm actually just going to grab a banana this morning. More bacon for you."
He looked at you oddly but nodded.
The three of you ate breakfast and Lin helped Lorena get dressed as you washed the dishes.
"Babe, have you seen her raincoat? It's a little cloudy out, and I'd rather be safe than sorry."
"Mhm, it's in the laundry room. Hey, Lin? Can you do me a favor on your way back from taking her to your mom's?"
 "Absolutely, what do you need?"
 "A pregnancy test."
The tiny pink backpack he had in his hands dropped straight to the floor.
There was so much excitement that followed: Another positive test. Another doctor's appointment that confirmed the pregnancy. Telling your families. Telling Lorena.
But nothing matched the feeling of finding out that you weren't having one baby, but two.
"Two babies? Two of them at the same time? Both in there? Now?" Lin sputtered, astonished.
"Yes, you have accurately described twins, Lin."
Lin handled you like you were made of glass throughout the entire pregnancy. It was equal parts infuriating and endearing, but it would be dishonest to say you didn't milk the situation a little bit.
You found out you were having two boys (twins were enough of a surprise, according to your husband) and directed the decorating of their nursery from your rocking chair. Lin painted and repainted walls, moved the furniture around until it looked exactly how you imagined it, and spent hours cuddled up with you and Lorena as you folded freshly washed baby clothes.
You luckily made it all the way to 38 weeks before you went into labor, and Julian and Mateo Miranda were both born healthy and happy.
Two weeks after returning home from the hospital, you found yourself curled up in bed with Lin, each of you with a baby on your lap.
You gazed at your husband as he ran a finger over Julian's tiny face. You laid your head on his shoulder and he tilted his head to rest on top of yours.
"Do you ever think about it?" he questioned.
"Think about what?" you asked, still caught up in the peace of the moment.
"How close we came to missing all of this."
Your throat felt thick. You didn't often let your mind go there.
"Sometimes," you confessed. "I almost robbed us of so much."
His head jerked up and he looked at you in surprise. "I wasn't trying to blame you! I'm the one who was gone all the time."
"Yeah, but I’m the one who decided that the only way to fix our problems was by leaving. I'm just grateful you didn't let me walk away," you exhaled.
"I'm grateful you gave a schlub like me another shot," he said teasingly and looked at the sleeping twins. "I can't imagine doing this with anybody else."
You smiled at the old joke. "I always did have a thing for schlubs."
 "Mom! Dad!"
You heard Lorena's voice and turned to see her running over to you, her gown folded over her arm. She ran straight into Lin's arms before being bombarded with hugs and congratulations from the entire family.
The grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all made their way to their cars to try and beat the parking lot insanity. You said goodbye and reminded everyone of the family party in Lorena's honor set for the following Saturday.
"So, where do you want to go for dinner, kid?" Lin asked.
"Actually, I was going to go out to eat with Owen and some of our friends. Is that okay?"
Owen was Lorena's first serious boyfriend. He was smart, handsome, and respectful. Lin detested him.
"Absolutely, baby," you cut in before your husband could object. "It's your day. Have fun and be safe!"
"Well, she's officially outgrown us," pouted Lin as he watched Lorena sprint away before he could try to argue. "Soon the twins will abandon us and we'll be obsolete."
You held back a snort at his theatrics and asked, "Would having the house to ourselves really be all that terrible?"
"You make an interesting point, Mrs. Miranda," he said, wagging his eyebrows and pulling you in for a kiss.
"Gross. Some of us still have to show our faces here," whined Mateo. “Sam invited us to go swimming. Can we?”
“Yes, turn your back on the mother and father who raised you,” Lin cried in his most over-the-top stage voice.
“Okay, cool,” Julian replied flatly, smacking his brother on the arm and leading him over to their friend and his parents.
“That was a bit much, no?” you remarked, arching your brow.
"Maybe, but I didn't want to give away how much I was looking forward to getting their mother alone in an empty house.”
You laughed as he slid an arm around your waist and led you out of the building.
“It's lucky we're so good at fresh starts. I'm thinking empty nesters might be our best phase yet. Should we start looking into retirement homes?” you quipped.
“Wherever you go, I go, my dear,” he answered with a grin as he opened the door to the cab he hailed.
Wherever you went, Lin would be right there with you. You liked the sound of that.
