Fantastic idea. Let's give it a shot! I would love to see if a creator could and would be able to create a maxis-match classic Ballet Workout Set. Including two simple Tutu's one classic short the other one long. A classic leotard, wrap top, wrap skirt, ankle leg warmers as well as a pair of thigh high ones. All in classic ballet colors black, white and pink. ;) Nothing fancy! If the creator wants some examples what I mean I could provide pics. But that would be so dope! ❤️

#SSSWish I'm half Filipino, but I hardly see any Filipino content in the Sims Community. I would love to own a Maxis Match Barong or Maria Clara dress for formal events in the game. I think it would be a great way to add more representation in the game, especially when I know there are a handful of PilAms and Pinoy players. Thanks for hearing me out, and thanks for all the work you do to make this games playable. I really enjoy all your hard work!

#SSSWishlist hello! I would love if cc creators can consider making more patterns for Kimono/Yukata (traditional Japanese clothing). I find the in-game versions kinda bland, and there are not many floral Kimonos even though its commonly seen in Japanese festivals. Would appreciate if there's Japanese hairstyle cc with big flowerly accessory to pair with the Kimono too! Same for the male Yukatas, just not floral print maybe. If it's not too much, children's version is also appreciated!

For the SSS Wishlist, I would Love to see a set of three to four hairstyles, all with the same texture. Something like long hair down, a ponytail, and an updo, all with the same wavy or curly or straight texture, all with the same bangs or whatever. Just something that could be used to look like my sims change hairstyle now and them.

My wish is to have more swatches for the snowboard and skis. If there could be more LED designs, interesting designs and the swatches for kids for T-E boards. It would be great.

The other wish would be to have more Kimono designs in Maxis Match and/or recolors with more patterns. There are so many patterns that I have seen while looking at real life kimonos and there are so many patterns, styles and colors that are missing in the game.

This seems like a fun idea! What I have been wanting for ages (like since TS2 era ages) is a hair style that completely covers one eye, like Violet at the start of The Incredibles. Most of the peekaboo bangs hairs I've seen are a little *too* stylish and I mostly just want one where someone is clearly trying to cover up half their face with it.

I would love to see more horse poses with tack. Severinka’s horses are beautiful but it drives me crazy, posing sims on horseback with the illusion of tack (bridles, saddles, etc) I would love to see some Severinka shaped tack be made. Poses would be a bonus!

#SSSWish - I would love to see a someone put together clothing that accurately reflects the Starfleet uniforms seen on the television shows, "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (collar version), "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (colored shoulders) or the later movie uniforms (grey shoulders w/ colored undershirt). I've seen people asking for these uniforms for quite some time now, and I think, if done well, they could be a popular download. A separate chest combadge accessory would be nice too.

Hey there, that #SSSWish thing is a super cool idea! I do have a wish too - I would love to see the EL utility jumpsuit converted for male framed sims. It can be unlocked by creating an override and unchecking the frame restrictions in S4S, but then the body changes to a female frame. So if anybody out there could do that properly, I'd be extremely grateful :3

#SSSWish i've been looking all over for a version of a torc to use in my historical plays-- it's an old celtic type of necklace, made of iron, sort of twisted into a collar around the neck... i've seen sims 3 versions of one floating around, so if someone would even be so kind as to convert one of those to the sims 4 i would be so happy!!!

Hi, for the SSSWishList I would love it if someone were to either convert or create a more dainty engagement ring type ring for the masculine frame, kind of like the rings glitterberrysims has made for feminine frames, like her pearl antique ring for example. I’ve always wanted more pretty and delicate rings for my male sims but i can never find any that truly work with the masculine frame without most of the ring being absorbed by their fingers lol

Super secret simblr wish! This is such a cool idea. I've been looking for Some haircuts with a mix of curly/wavy- epically mid-length ones. Also A decades challenge- appropriate camera. #SSSWishlist i know i already saw some people here ask for more yukata/kimono swatches here and i would like the say i really do think we need them (not just for the adults but the younger ages too, id like for the toddlers kimono not to have the hifu? vest as well but that sounds more complicated).

BUT for my wish i would like to see some proper tabi socks in the game, for all ages + genders, and also for the geta sandals to be made available for children and toddlers. HI. Hoping for the US military dress uniforms incl. hats, maybe based around the StrangerVille dress uniforms. My Super Secret Wish is a mod, or even a tweak of an existing mod, that stops toddlers from shying away from hugs they ask for during the “Check Toddler” interaction. It is *so* irritating to see a toddler respond to a❓with a ❤️ and open arms then step back, often with a 💔, and push the adult away. I’ve tried to stop it with MCCC but no luck.

One of my favorite parts of the game is creating a restaurant or a vet clinic, but the employees are impossible to keep satisfied and they all eventually quit. It would be nice if there was a way to keep them permanently satisfied, or at least make it easier. There is a mod for this but it is extremely outdated and doesn't work anymore. If anyone could update it or make a new one that would be great! 😁

I was hoping someone could create an edit of the Snowy Escape female shirt with the turtle neck underneath and open/unbuttoned shirt, here is a link. If they could make it so that the turtle neck and shirt can be different colours, like having the turtle neck have an option under accessories to change colours that overrides the original turtleneck’s colour would be amazing! Maybe they could throw in more colours and designs, like 90’s or plaid, that would be perfect

Hi ! There is quite a few things I’d like, but I narrowed it down to three “small” things:

- An accessory top with a high neckline and no sleeves - just to hide cleavage - maybe with some lace at the edge ? and several grey and pastel colors please.

- Some accessory prints for shirts, like those tukete has, maybe some aimed at kids and toddlers too ?

- Makeup for kids. Some people let their kids wear makeup in real life, but adult cc makeup don’t look right on kids, so if anyone is interested in trying… I’d like eye-shadow and lipstick, with some discreet options (but you can go all out too of course).

Hello! i’m not sure if its just my game bugging but the male child tiny living hair is broken and i don’t know where to start on fixing it. i tried to find a fix online but found nothing. in my game the hairline for that hair is so bad and its unfortunate cause it used to be my fav child hair. if someone that mods or makes cc could fix it or make a default replacement, i would forever be grateful.

My wish is for a mod that allows you to select a sim that's in a pose and make them take a picture without having to come out of their pose and go to the camera. What I would really like is just something cute for boys! Hello! This #SSSWish is such a fun idea~ Personally, I'd love if someone updated the Plantsims mods that have broken over the numerous updates. Like, G1G2's Revamped Plantsims, Triplis' Plantsim Interactions, and Simonch8's No Cooldown & Trait mods. I've always loved Plantsims since Sims 2 & 3 days, but my knowledge of modding (and especially updating mods) is near nonexistent, so I can't do this myself. #ssswish This is such a lovely idea! There are so many fun wishes! What I’d like to have (and I think would also be useful for other Simmers) is a wedding themed recolor of the “large pile of presents.” I usually put one of those piles in my wedding venue so that the bride and groom can “open presents” together. But the colors that are on the original are not what you usually see on presents at weddings. (I usually opt for the one that is mostly purple, since purple and lavender are my favorite colors.) What I’d like to have are recolors in white, white/gold, and white/silver. Maybe some white/pastels (especially lavender, pink and blue. The white/pastel recolors would also be nice for having a party that you call a “baby shower” especially if yellow and light green were also available. That kind of party isn’t in the game, but it should be!)

I don’t see the #SSSwish I submitted on your public list (I forgot to use the hashtag before) so I’m submitting it again. I would love to see a mod, or tweak of an existing mod, that stops toddlers from pulling away from a hug after they asked for one in response to a Check Toddler. The toddler will hold up its arms with a ❤️ in the speech bubble then step back and refuse the hug, and the relationship takes a hit. I tried MCCC’s tuner to stop it but it didn’t work.

i would love some…chinese cc haha! With snowy escape there’s more build items that can be used, I’ve noticed there tends to be a lot of Japanese inspired cc even before that pack, but not a lot of things from other parts of Asia, especially ancient cultures or cultural items like instruments (decor), clothing, furniture (lohan beds), etc. I’ve gone looking but most of what I’ve found is locked behind chinese-only forums and is usually alpha…I just think it would be cool to see some mm stuff from other places esp as fandoms get more globalized

This is an absolutely fantastic idea! I haven't been able to look around lately but I noticed that most rings/hand accessories aren't compatible with SkinDetail eyelashes. My wish is exactly hand accessories, specifically wedding rings, which don't conflict with SkinDetail eyelashes. It may be helpful to know that plumbobteasociety managed it in their RRS pack. I have another #SSSWish (if you don't mind). I don't know if it already exists but a mod which adds more family relationship options to CAS or the Sim menu. Eye of the Storm, Ch 6

This one came tumbling out of my brain pretty quickly... I've really fallen in love with these two together! 😍😍😍 No smut, but we continue the love-fest. I also go into what happened between Robert and Maggie after the one shot Tequila Sunrise. I plan on going into more flashbacks later. (Catch up on the rest of the Eye of the Storm chapters here.)

Maggie and Robert caught Strider gleefully chasing after the birds and barking his excitement. They could tell right away that he meant no harm to the seagulls, he was just excited to find playmates.

Because there was some distance between them and Strider, Robert put two fingers in his mouth and whistled. The dog raced toward his master, as though playing with his feathered friends would never match the connection he had to Robert.

Strider wagged his tail expectantly, and Robert crouched to scratch behind his pet's ears. "Hey, boy! What kind of adventures did you get into with those birds? Hmm? Couldn't wait for me to get some exercise? What am I going to do with you, huh?"

"He's got you wrapped around his paw, hasn't he?" Maggie watched with amusement as her magnetic, masculine boyfriend suddenly became a boyish imp who didn't seem to have the heart to scold his pet.

"He is certainly a big part of my life when I'm at home." He glanced up at Maggie but quickly trained his eyes back on Strider. He resumed ruffling the dog's fur with joy.

"So much so that you brought him across the ocean and a big country to live with you, it seems."

"Exactly. I couldn't go that long without my boy!" He turned back to his pet. "Strider, this is Maggie. You'll be seeing a lot of her for a while. I hope you two can be friends? She's special to me, just like you."

"Hey, Strider! I grew up with a dog in my house, so I am definitely pleased to meet you." She stroked his fur and then scratched behind his ears, just like Robert had.

"Do you like the beach? I do, too! I love to go every chance I can get, and I'm so excited that you and Robert live here! I'd love to walk you out here. What do you say?"

She continued to pet Strider, and he nuzzled against her, glad to have met a new friend.

"He's been cooped up almost all day; that might explain why he escaped. Why don't we all take a walk now?"

"That's a good idea, Robert."

"I'll let you bond with him a little more, while I get his favorite ball."

"Absolutely. I'd love to keep this cutie company." Maggie resumed petting Strider's mottled coat and talking to him. He was content to bask in Maggie's attention.

Maggie couldn't have asked for a better day: seeing Robert again, becoming his special roommate, and knowing it was just the beginning of a couple of blissful weeks with him. It was like she was living inside of a rock and roll fairytale, and she planned to cherish every second.

Strider perked his ears up and wagged his tail, seconds before a ratty tennis ball soared over his head. "All right, doggo, go fetch!" Robert yelled from a distance.

He reached Maggie by the time Strider clamped down on the runaway ball. "I thought you might want this," he said, helping her into her jacket. The wind had whipped up a bit, the waves were reclaiming some of the shoreline, and sunset was on its way.

"Thanks. It is starting to get a little chilly."

Strider returned and dropped the ball at Robert's feet. "Good boy. Nothing ever gets past you! Maybe there's a tryout for you with Wolverhampton in the future, hmm?"

Robert threw Strider's ball once more, and the pet was off again.

"Fancy a walk?" Robert placed a hand on the small of Maggie's back.

"I'd love to."

They stopped and started down the beach, pausing to throw Strider's ball, examine seashells, and kiss.

"This is a lot like that first night…" Robert started.

"But very different in other ways…"

"And not just because we're sober and not horizontal!" Robert chuckled before he got serious. "Maggie, having you here really feels like my life has regained something it was missing after the accident… I'm so glad we ran into each other. I feel more complete, more alive somehow… Does that make sense? I've never felt this way before."

"I completely understand. I felt so at home when we went inside your place, and I feel like Strider and I will be good friends in no time. I don't know, it just…"

"...Feels right." Robert finished her thought, grasped her face, and sent her reeling with a spellbinding kiss.

They smiled at each other while their lips still touched and kissed some more.

"We've already woken up to a majestic sunset together; how about we watch the sun go down this time?" Robert sat on the sand, back where it was still dry, with his legs spread wide. He motioned for Maggie to join him, and whistled for Strider to take a break with them.

Maggie sat down between Robert's legs, and he wrapped his arms around her. Strider enjoyed the feel of Maggie's hand in his fur.

Maggie was soothed by the smell of Robert's well-worn leather jacket and the sandalwood scent that was always there when he was close. It was a heady scent that was more powerful for her in that moment than the eternal fresh ocean smell that whipped around on the early evening air.

Robert kissed the top of her head and rested his hands on her shoulders. Just like back in 1972, they had the beach to themselves.

Maggie enjoyed the rapidly changing colors of the sky and marveled at how much had changed between them over the past few years. She was certain that her first encounter with Robert, back when she was working at the restaurant and trying to get her band off the ground, would just be a one-night fling. She was prepared to remember it as the most romantic one-night stand ever, with the most captivating man she'd ever met.

She thought that Robert asking for her number the next morning was just a polite way to say goodbye. But when he actually called the next day, and they spoke for hours… It was beyond belief.

He arranged for a car to take her to The Forum the following day, and she watched in the wings after having missed the San Diego show while working. The concert was phenomenal, and her sampling of tour life afterward was more outrageous than she could've imagined. It was a long night of partying and transcendent intimacy with Robert. She slept soundly through the ride back to San Diego, and her dreams were filled with visions of the vivacious blond singer.

It was a lovely beginning for them, and was joined with many more memorable encounters, of lively parties, romance, intelligent conversation, and commiserating on artistry at times. Robert was as much a friend to her as a lover, a friend who had climbed all the peaks and valleys that she was starting to climb, one who was more than willing to give her a boost when needed.

Their history made her that much more willing to experience every happy moment possible with him and work through every bad one that was to come.

"Penny for your thoughts, Mags?" Robert murmured his question in her ear after realizing she had gone silent.

"I'm just thinking about us."

"Good thoughts, I hope?" He heated her inside with delicate kisses along her jawline.

"Only the best." She sighed and noticed that Strider had fallen asleep.

"I've said it before, but you've always been a highlight for me whenever we come out west. You understand quite a bit of my life, having lived along a similar track. You've had every right, on many occasions, to get angry, never take my phone calls again, or send the driver packing, but you're always there for the next trip with a smile. God knows I don't deserve someone like you, with all the Good Time Percy galavanting I've done. Just… Thank you."

Maggie nuzzled against his chest and enjoyed the moment.

"I was an absolute mess here after the accident. If no one had come around to see me, I'd probably be back in that caveman beard that I shaved off a little before I met you, drinking Bovril and screaming at the soccer games on the TV. I had just started getting back on track with my voice… But then my body takes a big hit? And there was no certainty as to whether things would ever be right again? I couldn't handle it. I didn't want to deal with it, just wanted to lay low. And then it became a big, months-long pity party--a pity party with women and stimulants and anything else to chase the blues away. But the blues never left. If I had let you in… If I had sought you out when things went bad… I…"

"It's water under the bridge, Robert. Really. Just don't let it happen again. OK?

It was Maggie's turn to give Robert a searing kiss." Seriously, don't hide out if you're feeling low. I'm here for you."

"I will share your load… Oooh, let me!" Robert belted out some of his ad libbing from Physical Graffiti. The wind carried off the sound, but the meaning was fully captured by Maggie's heart.

"Exactly, shameless front man!" She laughed and sprung to her feet, dusting the sand off her clothes.

"I'm cold now… Race you back to the house?" Without a reply from Robert, she was off, with Strider following along, awake again and ready to play the new game Maggie had started.

"Dammit, woman, not so fast! You know I'm taking it easy!" Robert gingerly jogged the first few yards and, feeling fine, sprinted as best he could in the twilight to close the distance between them.

Jack in Wonderland - Part 4 of more coming soon, idk, running out of ideas

((Yay, 3rd day in a row where I actually manage to post another one of these things! Or maybe 4th. Idk, I haven’t really been keeping track. I’ll keep this brief, just another thank you for all the positivity! Without further ado, here’s part 4

Enjoy!))

The world outside seemed so strange when everything else was nearly twice your size. The blades of grass were more like trees, while the trees themselves looked like giant legs of monstrous creature that towered over him. Interestingly enough as well, the bugs that someone would expect to see at such a size suddenly looked just like humans, albeit with bug-like features.

Jack otherwise tried to avoid them, a bit uneasy around a few of them, especially the ones who looked exactly like flies. But they really kept to themselves, paying him absolutely no mind. The two parties simply continued along their way, Jack going in the same direction S-3-4-N’s camera showed the rabbit man running off in while the bug-humans only walked both back and forth down the path.

“Aw, what’s wrong you little worm? Gonna cry some more?”

“J-Just leave me alone, will you?”

“Crying ain’t gonna save you when the birds come swooping down!”

“I-I’m not a worm! I told y-you! J-Just go away!”

There was a rock the size of a medium hill, although it was probably just the size of a pebble if he was normal size. There were three bugs on the rock, one crouching down and covering his head with his hands while the other two sneered down at him, sometimes pelting him with with tiny punches or kicks. The two looked like rather rough looking bees, wearing the usual clothes one would expect from a bully. The only difference between them and the stereotypical bullies was that they had pale, fragile wings sprouting from their back. As for the boy they were terrorizing, he wore a white shirt with a bright blue tie. He also had a bright blue backpack, covered with tiny red spots littering the fabric.

“C’mon! Get up and face us like a real man, worm!” One of the bullies yelled at the poor boy, giving him a small kick and nearly knocking him over. “Oh wait, worms can’t stand up for themselves, now can they?” “Might as well get you ready for the fishes then! I bet the fisherman’s gonna come around any second now!” The other one added with a grin, laughing as he said it even. “He’s gonna need some fresh worms for today’s fishing trip after all!” “I-I’m not a worm….I-I’m not a worm….” The boy kept saying over and over in a small voice, only to have the bullies respond with laughter. “J-Just leave me alone…..I’m not a worm…..I-I’m not….” “Hey! You bastards, leave ‘im alone!” Jack yelled, picking up his pace. The two bullies only looked at him, as if sizing him up. Before they broke out into laughter.

“Look, the little worm has a little worm buddy!” One of them said, even pointing. “Isn’t that just precious!”

“Might as well leave the two worms to their playdate in the mud, I don’t wanna see any of that.” The other said, causing an uproar of laughter once more. Before Jack could even remotely give them a piece of his own mind, their wings started buzzing rather loudly, and they flew off. Jack couldn’t help but click his tongue in slight disappointment, part of him really wanted to teach them a lesson for what they had done. But at least this way nobody got hurt.

“Hey, kid. You okay there?” He called, quickly scaling up the rock. The boy timidly looked up, his face still shiny from tears. “Look, calm down. Got rid of those jerks. But if they had stuck around, I would’ve made sure they’d leave you alone for good!”

“Y-You….y-you’d really do something like that?” He asked, rather shakily. He sniffled, sitting up straighter while Jack settled himself on the pebble next to him. “I….I-I really wanna thank you for standing up for me….none of the other bugs really want to even help me….”

“Well, I wouldn’t just let someone get picked on like that, that’s just a jerk move.” Jack said, trying to give what he hoped was an encouraging smile. The boy smiled slightly, rubbing his eyes a bit.

“Again….thanks….I just seriously can’t thank you enough….but I….I just want to know….” He said, looking right at Jack with a slightly tilted head. “W...Who are you? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you….er….anywhere around here….”

“Jack. Just call me Jack.” Jack quickly said, thinking as fast as he could. “And I’m….I’m new around here! Just moved in from a different forest, y’know?” The boy only narrowed his eyes, before he simply shook his head.

“No, my name is Jack, I asked for your name.” He said. “Who are you?” Jack wasn’t honestly sure how to respond to that.

“Well, honest truth is that most people do just call me Jack.” He finally replied, rubbing the back of his neck. “Maybe….oh! Can I just call you Jackie?”

“I wouldn’t mind that at all!” The boy, Jackie, said, eyes suddenly lighting up. “I’ve always been hoping that someone would call me that….but...I dunno if you even want to hear why…..er….do you?” Jack shook his head, giving a small smile. “Ok….so, to most humans, I just kind of look like this fat little blue caterpillar. But all of the other bugs, just like those bees, just call me a worm….”

“So you’re just a catepillar, not a worm? Where did they even get the whole ‘You’re a worm’ thing?” Jack asked, raising an eyebrow. Jackie merely replied with a shrug, pulling his knees a bit closer to him.

“I’m not sure. Maybe they just wanted to find something to call me. Besides, caterpillars are close enough, aren’t they?” He said, rather sadly. “But I tried to show some bugs that I thought were my friends something I really liked. Something I thought was cool. I….I think I still have it somewhere in my bag….” He slid off the blue backpack, zipping it open and digging around for a few moments. After a few minutes, he finally whipped out a scrunched up piece of looseleaf paper, with what looked like a superhero scribbled in red and black ink. A name was written in the corner as well, almost quickly written as an afterthought.

“‘Jackieboy Man?’” Jack read, taking in the picture and trying not to laugh. The name itself was rather silly, but he could tell Jackie had come up with it all by himself, with all the innocence he probably had at the time.

“I-It’s a stupid name, but once I came up with it, it just stuck.” Jackie admitted, nervously laughing. “Since I’m a caterpillar, I’ll turn into a butterfly one day, right? I thought that when I do become a butterfly, I could be like a superhero! Someone everyone likes seeing, someone who’s probably loved by everyone. And I’m sure Jackieboy Man would never get called a worm. He’d be everyone’s friend, and able to protect everyone.”

“So, you become Jackieboy Man when you get to turn into that butterfly!” Jack said, handing the piece of paper back to him. “If being a superhero is your dream, you chase after that dream, no matter what happens or what anyone else says.”

“Yeah, sure. The little worm everybody hates is gonna suddenly turn into some big shot hero.” Jackie said, almost a bit bitterly. “Jackieboy Man’s the one with the confidence. I’m just Jackie, the bug the entire forest hates.” Jack slammed his hands down on the rock, pushing himself to his feet.

“Kid, listen up right here and right now!” He nearly shouted, making Jackie jump slightly. “If you keep thinking like that, then nothing’s gonna change for you! You said you wanna be like Jackieboy Man, right? Well, that’s not even going to happen if you keep thinking negative. You just need to have….have….”

“Have...what?” Jackie said, in a quieter voice. Jack had to rack his brain for the word he was looking for. It was literally on the tip of his tongue. He just needed to….

“Hashtag Positive Mental Attitude!”

“PMA! How on earth could I have forgotten about that!” He suddenly exclaimed, snapping his fingers. Jackie merely gave him an extremely confused look. “Heh…..sorry, I mean Positive Mental Attitude. It’s something I say a lot….back before this whole fiasco….I-I mean, before I met you! Meeting you is in no way part of the fiasco!” He said, waving his hands quickly.

“But….what exactly does that mean?” Jackie asked, looking just a little less confused.

“It means you gotta stay positive! You can’t get anything done when you just keep thinking negatively, after all.” Jack said. “It’s gotten a ton of other people and even myself through some dark times, so it would seriously surprise me if it just didn’t work for you!” Jackie just sat there for a minute, looking at the rock and just silently repeating ‘PMA’ a few times, before he slowly stood up as well.

“I...I’ll give it a try too!” He said, with a hesitant, but rather new-found confidence. “F-From today onwards…..I’m gonna become a superhero! I’m gonna be Jackieboy Man!”

“Aw, look at the little worm, suddenly shouting out to the world like he’s some sort of big shot!” The loud hum of buzzing filled the entire area, causing the two to spin around. It was the same two thugs as before, except they now had about three or four more bees right behind them, all of them glaring down at Jack and Jackie with big, rather malicious grins.

“‘Ey! I told you two to leave him alone!” Jack growled, almost protectively standing in front of the boy. “What the hell are you two suddenly doing back here?”

“New word came from the King, says something about a guy who doesn’t belong ‘round Wonderland.” One of the original two bullies said. “Given how you ain’t no bug we’ve seen ‘round here, we figured you had to be that guy. God knows how you got so tiny, but you look exactly like described.”

“But, seeing as how you’re still with the worm, this is just the perfect opportunity! Why not squash two worms with one foot?” The other one added in, causing a few laughs among the new ones. “Mess with the little worm and get that award the King promised us. How could ANYONE even want to pass up a chance like this?”

“Well, me if you really want examples.” Jack shot back. “Listen, how about this? I go with you guys, you take me to whoever this King guy is, and you leave Jackie completely out of this. Sound good to you, dudes?” None of them even replied. Instead, one of them darted forwards and threw a punch, one that Jack just barely managed to duck under.

“Well great, looks like that’s not an option.” He couldn’t help but mutter, jumping back as another one tried to dart forwards. Jack tried to make a move to retaliate, but a sharp pain that shot up his back as he leaned a fist back. One of the bullies took advantage of this and pushed him right off the rock, causing Jack to hit the ground hard. The back pain didn’t vanish, instead only growing so bad that he couldn’t even stand for a few minutes.

“J-Jack! Oh God, a-are you okay?!” Jackie yelped, about to rush down to his new friend’s aid only to be blocked in by all of the bullies. Jack attempted to stand, only to wince as the injury gave an almighty throb. It looked as if the bullies were about to begin their torment of the poor kid all over again when what looked like a short knife flew past.

“Yo! Step away from the kid right now, dudes!”

The thugs all turned, just as two men, both of whom seemed to be two different species of beetle, grabbed two of the bullies, hoisting them up by the collar of their shirts. Two different men, one of them acting as if he was the leader of the four, followed close behind. 3 out of these four men wore leather jackets with ‘COOL PATROL’ written in golden letters. The odd man out instead wore a nearly face-length mask that covered everything but his eyes.

“And what the hell do you think you’re doing.” One of the thugs hissed, walking and meeting the leader of the four halfway. “We’ve got business with this worm here, so make like a tree and leaf already.”

“Well, we’re obviously stopping this seriously uncool fight.” The leader snapped back. “You heard me, step away from the kid. Or me and my friends here are gonna have to get a tiny bit physical.” The thug merely growled, looking between the four men, catching a glimpse of the leader’s weapon, a claw grasped in his right hand, and the strange masked man, who held a dagger up in one hand.

“Tch, fine. But this ain’t over, ya worm!” The thug finally said, backing off. “C’mon boys, time to get lost. These losers obviously don’t want us here having any fun.”

“That’s the Cool Patrol to you, assholes!” The leader of the gang yelled as the thugs all flew off once more. None of them gave any indication they had heard, not that any of the four really cared. “Yo, kid, you okay there? Looks like you were almost in for a really crappy time.”

“Y-Yeah….I-I’m fine….” Jackie replied, shaky once more. The leader only gave a smile, holding out a hand for him. “T-Thanks….er...you called yourselves the….the Cool Patrol, right?”

“Hell yeah. We were out, doing our normal patrol like always, when we heard the loud buzzing and could literally smell the jerk coming off of these guys.” The leader said as Jackie took his hand, hoisting the boy to his feet. “What was up with those dudes and them calling you a worm? Or was that just them being total asses?”

“I-It’s something you don’t need to worry about...i-it’s fine….” Jackie said timidly, rubbing one of his arms. “J-Just….a small nickname they gave me….t-that’s all.” The leader of the Cool Patrol only exchanged a skeptical look with his fellow members, clearly not buying something like that.

“Yo, what’s this?” One of the members suddenly said, bending down to pick up a piece of paper. It was the picture he had drawn of Jackieboy Man, which he had accidentally dropped when the thugs had pushed Jack off of the rock.

“N-Nothing! I-It’s an….an….er….an…” Jackie stuttered, trying quickly to think of an excuse.

“A totally awesome picture!” The member exclaimed, grinning widely. “Dude, I’ve never seen a superhero like this, it’s gotta be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!” Jackie froze in place, clearly not expecting that kind of answer. The rest of the Cool Patrol all gathered around, looking at the picture and voicing the same sentiments.

“Nice one, Jackie.” Jack said through clenched teeth, managing to pull himself back up to his feet using the side of the rock. His back was screaming in protest, but it didn’t feel as bad as the initial impact. “Knew at least someone else would think you’re cool too.” Before he could begin slowly climbing back up the rock, something loud and heavy landed right behind him.

Sure enough, a giant, pale gray tabby cat stood behind him, looking right down at him with big, playful green eyes. Jack didn’t even get a chance to back away or call out for help when it literally stretched its neck over him and plucked him from the ground, holding the very back of his jacket and shirt very carefully.

“The hell?! Put me down, will you?” Jack yelled as the cat straightened once more. His yell was audible from where Jackie and the Cool Patrol all were, thankfully enough. “Guys! Help, would ya?!”

“H-Hang on Jack! I’m coming!” Jackie yelled back in response, running and skidding down the rock. But before he could get anywhere near the giant feline, it had already flicked its tail and began bounding off. “Hey! H-Hold up! Bring him back here!” The cat didn’t slow down, instead racing right to a tree before leaping up it, latching on using its claws. Just before the cat and Jack disappeared into the trees, Jack could hear Jackie yell out one last thing.

“J-Jack! I promise, I’m gonna go find you again when I finally become a butterfly! When I become Jackieboy Man! I promise!”

((Ok, so in the lead up to this chapter, I’ve been watching the Cool Patrol video like whenever I see it. I’m glad I did, since it’s like a really cool (heh) song and video as well as somewhat helpful for writing more about Jackieboy Man. So I decided to throw them in with Jackie’s big appearance here too.

But I’ll be honest, I don’t exactly like this one. I feel it’s one of the weaker parts I’ve written, but that always could just be me being too harsh and critical on things I wrote. Idk. Also, I’m not exactly sure if I’ll be able to post more of these as quickly as I have been lately. My school laptop, which I normally write on,is currently broken. So that’s just peachy, ain’t it? This means I might not get it working again until Tuesday, And writing on my phone and family laptop isn’t exactly the easiest.

So, there may be a small delay in updates for about three days, given I do have Monday off of school. Just thought I might as well warn you guys now, just in case. Anyways, onto the tags!

chapter seven: it’s so cold that your stare’s ‘bout to kill me // In which Rachel eavesdrops, Chet cares for all the wrong reasons, and Jay flirts with a contestant

You might have gotten rid of Troy, but you can’t get rid of me. Ready for some fun?

Quinn held the card in both hands, the black typeface weighing heavy on the card stock.

She thought that with Troy gone, she’d be rid of this nightmare. She thought she’d saved Rachel from their stalker.

In her dreams she was being held down, an immense weight pressing into her shoulders, her ribs, her hips. And when she woke up, it was like the weight and tension had always been there. It felt like there were needles in her spine and her muscles were coiled springs being pulled tighter and tighter with each movement.

She’d never felt so helpless.

…

Rachel had left Quinn’s office angry. It was a sad anger, a righteous anger that burned through her skin, fed by the cold lies that chilled Quinn’s mouth. How quickly had it means nothing turned to I need you, I love you?

She’d laid in her makeshift bed and brooded over it, tossed and turned until she had slipped her hand beneath the waistband of her underwear. She got off on the memory of the test of Quinn’s skin still fresh in her mind, of the smell of Quinn’s perfume that cling to her, and the phantom feeling of Quinn’s body between her thighs.

They were fire and ice, harsh contradictions that only proved to hurt each other. And that’s what Rachel had wanted the previous night, to leave Quinn as hurt as she felt.

She regretted it, of course. She regretted it as soon as she saw Quinn’s sleep deprived eyes, the dark circles underneath, avoiding Rachel’s gaze as she hid in the whiskey disguised as the last remnants of a cup of coffee.

She’d regretted her actions at least, her teeth of Quinn’s skin, her hands on her neck, but not her words.

Quinn had tried to cover up her throat, with a higher collared dress and an off-color smear of makeup, but the angry red welts stood out against the pale skin of her throat.

They stood at opposite sides of the room, the tension creating canyons so palpable that the others could feel it.

The only person who appeared to be immune was Chet, who was unable to keep from glancing angrily at the red welts left on Quinn’s throat. He looked like a little boy who’s favorite toy had been taken away and put on a shelf. Rachel felt a momentary flush of jealousy, left over from the however many years Quinn and Chet had been together, but then remembered that it was her Quinn had been propositioning last night, not Chet.

Rachel saw Jay and Madison exchange confused and worried glances, since they knew all too well that while a rift between Chet and Quinn was a war, a fight between Quinn and Rachel was armageddon.

“Okay listen up,” Quinn snapped to life as she walked over to their board of names and faces and plans for storylines, “Today is the three person date so cash bonuses for anyone who gets their person on the date. Madison, Kara’s our new villain but we want to keep her.”

“What? But I thought she was wifey!” Madison cried.

“I changed my mind, plus she seems to have a decided she wants to get horny, right Rachel?”

Everyone turned to look at her and Rachel quickly schooled her features. Quinn was gunning for a reaction but she was going to have to live with disappointment.

“Actually Kara said she was worried about the possibility of an overnight date,” she said, primly, “It sounds like she’s never been with a woman before.”

Quinn rolled her eyes, “What a surprise.”

“That’s cute though, not mean,” Madison said.

“Okay, how do we spin it?” Said Quinn, “Make our sapphic virgin a mean girl.”

“Maybe she’s scared,” Rachel offered, “because the other girls are more experienced and she’s intimidated.”

“So she lashes out,” Quinn said, “Tries to take people down with her?”

“I guess I could… tell her Vanessa is really physical and has, uh, had some fun with some of the other contestants?” Said Madison.

Quinn nodded, “There you go, go work whatever dark magic you did to your love birds last night.”

Madison muttered an, “Okay,” as she slumped back into her chair, looking defeated. The redhaired woman behind her gave Madison a pat on the shoulder.

“Okay let’s not make this episode such a boner killer like last time!” Quinn said, pep talk over, “Get me some material I can use!”

Madison and Jay were quick to leave, off to produce their people into getting that coveted group date card- or into a big enough scene to get Quinn’s attention. But Rachel, reaching for her coffee and spotting Chet corner Quinn, lingered.

“So who’s the new guy?” Chet asked, louder then he probably thought he was being, a sarcastic sneer in his tone.

“What are you talking about?” Quinn said.

“C’mon you think we all can’t see your neck covered in hickeys?” said Chet, “It’s embarrassing.”

“I don’t see how what I do in my personal life is any of your business anymore,” she replied, and out of the corner of her eye, Rachel saw Quinn try to push past Chet. Chet, however, caught her by the upper arm, his large hand circling her with ease. He leaned close, invading her personal space as he hovered over her.

“You never let me do that,” he said, voice dropping so low that Rachel had to strain to hear, “I just want to know who did that, who is this guy that marked you?”

“Rachel!” Quinn snapped, sharply echoing through the room. Rachel whipped around in horror.

“Stop eavesdropping and get out of here,” Continued Quinn, pulling her arm out of Chet’s grasp.

And just like the night before, Rachel fled.

“Hi, Ben?” Madison hesitated on the name before flashing him a big smile, “They need you in make up in five minutes.”

“Oh yeah?” Ben reached out, grabbing two flutes of champagne. He offered one to her.

“Wanna kill the time with me? You seem like a sharp shooter,” he said.

“Oh ummm,” Madison took the glass and giggled. Ben was just like what he was offering her, a tall drink of bubbly.

“So what’s a woman like you doing in a place like this?” Ben asked, watching her take a sip.

Madison flipped her hair, “Well I do have a pilot that aired, maybe you’ve seen it? Hashtag Adulting?”

“Maybe I’ve heard of it,” he said, winking, “So you’re in charge of all of us right? Whether or not we get dates?”

“Well, that’s up to Vanessa, but we do what we can to make sure the right people are picked,” said Madison.

Ben winked, “I’m sure you pick all the right people.”

He reached out, tucking a piece of Madison’s long hair behind her ear. She blinked up at him, temporarily at a loss for words as she stared up into his blue eyes. They were sky-colored and focused only on her.

“I, uh,” she stammered, the attention making her intoxicatingly dizzy. As much as she didn’t like to admit it, she missed being with Gary- not Gary himself, but the relationship, someone paying attention to her instead of brushing her aside like what happened every day at work.

“I’ll see you around, right Madison?” Ben said, flashing her another big smile.

“Yeah,” Madison smiled back and bit her lip as she watched him walk away. He was one of Jay’s guys, but seeing him again would definitely be on her to do list.

…

“Hey! Little weirdo!” Rachel closed her eyes and suppressed a groan as she heard Chet call out to her. She’d just come from Catherine’s room, where she’d been prepping her to make her best grab at the three person date with Vanessa.

“So I think your main competition is Leo,” Rachel had said.

“Leo? The investment banker twice her age?” Catherine asked, a single eyebrow raised as her makeup was done by one of the stylists, “And one year my junior?”

“Bingo,” Rachel replied, “But Vanessa is very into fashion and wants to possibly branch into the fashion industry, so you have that in common. What do Leo and Vanessa have in common? Not much.”

Catherine smiled, and had lifted her champagne glass to her lips, but Rachel noted that Catherine spit the sparking drink into the sink as soon as she thought Rachel wasn’t looking.

“What’s up Chet?” Rachel said as she turned, shoving her hands in her pockets, shoulders tense.

“You know the word on the street right?” Chet said, and Rachel’s eyebrows pulled together in confusion.

“Uhh…”

“You know, the 411, the buzz, the skuttlebutt, the dirt,” said Chet, “The hot gossip on set.”

“When it’s worth knowing,” Rachel replied, with a shrug. She wasn’t sure where he was going with this, and, if she was being honestly with herself, the crew’s quote unquote hot gossip was usually about her.

“You don’t happen to know who this guy Quinn’s seeing is?” Chet ask and Rachel’s jaw involuntary clenched as every curse word known to man ran through her head.

“See,” Chet continued, “I’m just worried about her and I don’t think he’s treating her right.”

“Oh, uh,” Rachel could feel her face flushing as she started to ramble, “Quinn doesn’t really, you know, tell me that kind of thing? About her sex life. So she hasn’t said she was seeing anyone and I haven’t seen any guys around.”

“You’ll let me know if you figure out who he is though, right?”

“Yeah, totally,” with an awkward laugh, Rachel nodded and backed away.

…

“Jay! Jay, I need your opinion on something,” Jay turned to see Ben rushing to catch up to him.

“Hey, aren’t you supposed to be on set? It’s almost time for lunch with Vanessa,” Jay said.

“Yeah I just needed to talk to my favorite producer,” Ben said with a slow smile.

“What’s up?” Said Jay, smiling back.

“Do you Vanessa would like if I did this to her?” Ben asked, walking his fingers up Jay’s arm.

Jay raised his eyebrows, Ben was cute and his bio had said he was bisexual, so there was nothing wrong with a little flirting right? Just to keep him listening to what Jay was telling him, of course.

“I think she might,” he replied, leaning into the touch.

“Or how about this?” Said Ben, reaching up to trace the curve of Jay’s ear.

“Yeah,” Jay’s breath caught in his throat, “that’s good too.”

“Oh good,” Ben whispered then walked off to go find Vanessa.

…

The air grew crisper as the sunset. It’s warm glow hidden behind trees and clouds, purple as a bruise, that hovered at the furthest edge of the horizon.

The cold slipped back her sweatshirt, through her jeans, and into her bones. Rachel shivered. The sunset had been beautiful but lingering in the semi darkness was an act of masochism.

She soon grew sleepy in the cold, listening to the water in the pool, but jolted awake as she felt someone join her on the couch.

It was Quinn, who didn’t meet her gaze as she lit her cigarette, taking a single, long drag before wordlessly passing it to Rachel. Rachel inhaled, feeling the slick of Quinn’s lipstick coating the outside of the cigarette. She marveled at the casual intimacy of the act, one they’d been participating in for longer than she could remember. It was a nicotine kiss, passed across the infinite space between their lips.

As Rachel passed the cigarette back, their fingers brushed, a single warm jolt of electricity, and Quinn finally looked at her. Her emotions were hidden behind her guarded eyes, that familiar wall back up.

“I’m sorry,” Rachel finally said, “about-“ she reached up and touched the unmarred space of her own throat, the mirror image of the place she’d left marks on Quinn’s.

“You don't have to apologize,”

“No, I shouldn’t have done that-“

“Goldberg-“

“I wanted-“ I wanted to hurt you, I wanted you, I wanted you to feel how I did.

“So did I. Rachel,” Quinn said, quiet but firm, “you didn’t do anything wrong.”

Rachel was dumbstruck. But Quinn didn’t elaborate, she hardly ever did, and instead took another drag of the cigarette before handing it back to Rachel. It felt like a peace offering, a truce, and for that little blessing, Rachel was happy.
