I got a very disturbing Pjo idea after watching TBOSAS trailer and since nudging the people in the Ta server wasn't enough for me, I'm putting it out here.
(Very excited for that movie btw)
TW: Dehumanisation, murder, child death, general things you would see in THG
Okay so you know how THG was inspired by the Thesus and the Labyrinth myth?
And you know how the Games were started to punish the Districts for rebelling?
And, and what army was technically a rebellion? Thats right. The Titan army demigods.
So, what if instead of massacring the Ta kids; the gods put them thorough similar games. I mean Hephaestus TV is a thing, they canonically watch demigods as entertainment. Wouldn't be the first time they made them fight for entertainment either. Remember Bachus?
"After all, if they're so willing to raise up arms against their fellow demigodkind killing their friends and fellow comrades shouldn't be that hard, right?" — Zeus (and Kai thanks for the dialogue)
So those who didn’t immediately joined back the camps gets rounded up and imprisoned somewhere before they got thrown into the arena to fight monsters and eachother to death.
All the while the gods are watching their new family entertainment. Hey, it's free :D
Apollo takes it upon himself to do the interviews (like Ceasar) which half of it has to get censored before it reaches Zeus.
"Hecate, your son fucking bit me!"
"Good." — she's not happy about the situation at all.
Of course, they would group the kids and do more than one run: Prolongs their fun and the traitors's suffering.
Not that all of the kids are sent to fight. The Olympians who have children there are more likely to spare their favourite ones and hold it over their heads for the rest of their life. (And leave the ones they don't like to die)
Sponsorships still happen, it's an effective way to break the comradeship. You're more likely to receive one if 1) Your godly parent is an Olympian and/or 2) You’re more willing to put up with whatever the gods throw at you without a fuss.
The current run is broadcasted to the imprisoned demis as a further way to break their spirits, and so they can see their friends kill eachother, sometimes without hesitation.
The winners gets paraded around Mt. Olympus. They're free now that won the gods's bloody bullshit, right? Wrong. Sure they're being "celebrated" for killing their friends but they're nothing more than shiny trophies. Just props for entertainment :)
Of course, with the way things are broadcasted to the other members of army make it seem like one of their own being treated like a celebrity for turning on them, which further drives wedges between the victors and them.
The winners gets to watch their own run, too. They can't turn on Olympus if they're too busy self-loathing :)
The kids are prepped up before their interviews, a courtesy of Aphrodite (so what if some of her own children are there, they should've knew better than treason), but they’re sent to the arena with basic white chitons. The Olympians get nostalgic all right, they’re old. (And it does make the Ta demis feel even more degraded and patronised.)
The Arena itself is really pretty, too pretty for what's happening inside. I'm talking about polished marble Greek columns, giant statues of the gods, intricate carvings of silver and gold.
[It is of course designed by their newest architect. Not that Annabeth knows what it's going to be used for. They petition for "a shiny arena for godly games" and she does it. Not knowing it's going to be used for demigod bloodshed. She can't be imprisoned like her half-brother Daedalus however, they can't have either of the camps know about what's going on. (Those in Ta who knew her recognises her work, however causing them to think the Camp is on it) So, Hera kindly takes it upon herself to wipe the memory. She needed practice for her future exchange program anyway.]
"Why are you protesting that "we're forcing you to kill eachother" Torrington, we aren't the ones who are holding weapons."
[I will reblog with art later]

He said please.
Grayson didn’t lack manners. It’s not that he didn’t know how to say please and thank you. But he also wasn’t the kind of person to throw around a plea lightly. Grayson Hawthorne was, well, a Hawthorne. The name itself was a demand, not requiring a please. But he’d felt the need to say please to you.
Maybe you were overthinking it.
Or maybe you were still in denial, like Avery said you were.
The texts came in at eight at night, too, which only raised more questions in your mind. If he wanted to talk to you, why hadn’t he just found you? Or simply texted you to meet somewhere? You didn’t understand why he’d felt the need to use the 911; you would’ve come if he’d just told you to go to the pool.
Hawthornes did tend to have a flare for dramatics, you supposed.
You had no idea why Grayson wanted you to meet him at the pool. He was a swimmer, sure, but that was very much his personal time. Grayson didn’t often appreciate people watching or joining him in the pool. But, you figured there was a chance he expected you to.
So you found yourself at her door again. Despite the faint conversation you could hear from inside, you knocked.
Avery took longer than last time to open the door. “What’s up?” She asked.
“Hey. Uh, do you have a swimsuit I could borrow?”
She frowned slightly, confused. “I mean I do, yeah, but why-”
You didn’t even have to say anything. You just showed her your phone screen with the text messages. Her eyes widened as she read them and she immediately opened the door wider for you. “Get the hell in here.”
Avery was already digging through the grand dresser. As you entered the room behind her, you noticed Jameson sitting on the floor in front of a deck of cards, giving you a curious look. “What-”
“Not now, Jamie,” Avery quickly answered. “Girl problem.”
That shut him up.
“Don’t mind him,” she told you, turning back around with a few items in hand. “We were just playing solitaire.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Together? Isn’t that a one player game?”
“His idea, not mine. Managed to turn it into a competition too, somehow,” Avery shrugged. Jameson gasped dramatically but she continued before he could speak, bringing your attention back to why you asked for help. “So, I’ve actually never worn this one before, you could keep it if you want. Or-”
“That one’s fine,” you interrupted, taking it from her. “Can I change in your bathroom?” “Oh, uh, yeah, sure I guess,” Avery answered, clearly confused as to why you were so quick to answer. “Sorry, I’m just trying to get there as soon as I can. Thanks.”
You didn’t change completely, just putting it on and putting your clothes back on over it. You didn’t plan on getting into the water, but it was worth being prepared.
As you were stepping out of the room and thanking Avery, Jameson called, “Say hi to Gray for me.”
Your head snapped back. “What?”
“Come on,” he smirked. “He’s practically the only person who uses the pool, especially at this time. So tell him I said hi.”
Shaking your head, you just ignored him. Jameson was the type of person who could read people well, so odds are he probably already knew he was right. But you didn’t want to give even more of a reaction to him than you already had.
Avery grabbed your arm though, before you left. “Hey, hey, good luck.”
You thanked her and left, just hoping Jameson wouldn’t try to watch from the window.
~~
The cool night air hit you sharply as you stepped outside. It hadn’t been too chilly during the day, but you now found yourself wishing you were in more than just shorts and a thin hoodie.
Shivering, you made your way over to the pool. Your mind was racing the whole way there, but there wasn’t really anything else for you to be wondering. Grayson had asked for you to come to the pool, presumably either to swim with him or just because he was most comfortable there. Either way, it was pretty clear that he wanted to discuss what happened when he was drunk. But you still didn’t understand why he sent the 911.
Good thing you were on your way to finding out.
The pool deck was empty, save for a few lounge chairs. The fancy cushioned kind, the ones you would only find at a hotel. And the Hawthorne mansion, of course.
On one of the chairs were two neatly folded towels- two. So he did expect you to get in the water with him? Where was he anyway? If he’d already brought out towels, why wasn’t he-
Splash.
You’d been too caught up in your thoughts and the sound of your heart racing in your chest to realize that Grayson was, in fact, already in the pool. Swimming laps because he was Grayson Hawthorne, so of course he was swimming laps when the sun had already set and the only light in the sky was that of the stars.
Swimming had never really been your thing, so you didn’t know the exact stroke, but you would’ve been a liar if you said you weren't somewhat mesmerized. The way his arms went up and out, the way his fingers glided along the surface before entering the water once again. His legs kicked together, the movement fast and almost indiscernible under the blue of surrounding him.
Grayson came up for air so quickly you couldn’t even make out his face, but your eyes caught on the way his hair flicked up with his head. It was certainly a skill, and he managed it so gracefully. You struggled to look away.
Thankfully, you were pulled out of your stare when he suddenly reached the wall nearest to you. Grayson’s hands touched the edge of the pool in perfect sync. You could see the red in his face, the tire he was giving himself from swimming. You wondered how long he’d been there before you found him.
Grayson met your eyes with a tired smile as he caught his breath. “You came.”
“You said 911,” you explained, sitting on the edge of the chair where he’d set the towels. “I figured it was pretty important.”
“Yes, I did.” He nodded. “We do only get one of those a year, so I’d appreciate it if you didn’t mention that to any of my brothers.”
“Got it.”
He was avoiding the elephant in the room.
“Would you like to join me?”
You stared at him. “Excuse me?”
“You’re excused,” he said. “Would you like to join me?”
Was he really just going to ignore the fact that he’d sent you such an urgent message? A 911 could’ve meant he was dying, for all you knew when you’d first received it. And what, it was because he wanted to go for a swim with you? There was more he wasn’t saying and you just wanted to yell at him to spit it out.
Instead, you responded calmly.
“Join you in the pool?”
Grayson looked you up and down and shook his head. “I suppose you can’t really, not without proper swimwear.”
You got in the pool in a suit when you were drunk, you didn’t say.
“I have a bathing suit on under this,” you explained. “I just… why do I need to get in the water? Can’t you just tell me what’s going on?”
He took a deep breath.
“I’ve decided I owe you an apology. For what happened.” You knew immediately what he was referring to. “I was reckless and foolish and unintentionally put the burden of myself onto you. It would have been easier for you to just leave me be, but you dealt with my mess. I appreciate that.”
The silence that followed was only interrupted by the gentle lapping of the pool.
“See why I figured you should get in?” He asked. “We’d be at an even level. Better suited for such a conversation.”
“Or you could just get out,” you offered.
“Please?”
That word again.
Grayson Hawthorne knew what he was doing.
“Fine,” you groaned, but really only half annoyed. You turned around as you began to take off the layers above the swimsuit, watching him in the corner of your eye as he looked away respectfully.
The cold hit you even harder now that you had removed your hoodie, and you hoped that the pool was well heated.
“Okay, okay.” You began walking over to the edge of the pool where Grayson was. When his eyes found you, he stared for a little longer than normal before answering.
“You’re nervous,” he observed. “Can you swim?”
You shrugged, taking another step closer. “I know how to stop myself from drowning.”
Grayson moved out of your way and you sat on the edge of the pool with your feet getting wet. It was heated, thankfully. Comfortably so. No wonder he loved to come here at night.
He was watching you silently. You couldn’t tell what he was thinking, and it was killing you. Not that anyone could ever tell what Grayson Hawthorne hid behind those piercing eyes, but yet another question amidst everything that had happened that week was too much.
Of course he’s a mystery, he’s a Hawthorne.
Before you could overthink it even further, you got in.
The warmth of the water enveloped you, contrasting greatly with the chill of the night air. You were holding onto the wall, not planning on letting go because your swimming skills were just barely above that of a child starting swim lessons. But Grayson’s intense gaze kept your heart racing.
He swam towards you, grabbing onto the wall a little closer but still leaving a respectful distance between you. “Do you know why I sent the 911?”
“No,” you admitted. “It scared me.”
“I apologize for that. I panicked.”
You hadn’t expected that confession from him.
“You panicked?”
He nodded slowly. “I was afraid you’d think less of me after how I acted. You haven’t spoken to me in days, so I wasn’t sure you’d come otherwise.” The vulnerability in his voice was tangible.
“It’s not that I’ve been trying to avoid you, Grayson,” you explained. “I just… I mean, you haven’t spoken to me either.”
“I thanked you, I thought we were past what happened. I didn’t think we needed to talk about it.”
“You thanked me and then flirted and walked away.”
Grayson raised an eyebrow. “Did I?”
“You know very well what you did,” you said, trying to hide the blush on your face.
He swam a little closer. His voice dropped to the same sincere tone it had adopted back when he was drunk. When you’d told him to be careful and he’d cupped your face. When he said he’d never hurt you, never.
“Perhaps I do. But that doesn’t change the fact that I burdened you with my drunk self.”
“You’re not a burden, Grayson,” you told him, also pushing yourself closer to him along the wall. “It was no problem, really. Just a little entertaining.”
He chuckled, and you couldn’t tell if it was genuine or bitter.
The way he was looking at you was making you feel something. Something you couldn’t name but… didn’t quite hate. You started to move yourself a little closer to him until-
Splash.
Your hand slipped off the edge of the pool, accidentally sending you back. Not exceptionally far or deep into the pool, but enough to make you panic. You could keep yourself afloat, sure, but not when you were suddenly pushed away from the only solid thing keeping your head above water.
But before you could fully let the panic set in, a strong arm wrapped around your waist and pulled you upwards.
The sensation of being lifted was disorienting. You were overwhelmed by the sudden rush of water and movement, then the lack of water as your head reached the surface again. Even if you’d barely been below the water for a few seconds, you found yourself gasping for air.
Grayson’s arm around you was the only steady thing in the chaos.
“Hey, hey” Grayson spoke, and it took a moment for your startled mind to process the words. “You’re okay, I’ve got you.”
You blinked rapidly, trying to focus. It took a moment for your breathing to calm down, but you helped yourself by rationalizing it; you’d been under the water for maybe five seconds, there was no need to panic so much.
The shock had just gotten you.
His voice broke through again, focusing your vision and hearing on him. “Just breathe, in and out. Nice and slow, just like that.”
You followed his instructions, taking deep breaths. Your panic began to fade, and you became painfully aware of how close he now was to you, the proximity at which he held you.
Grayson didn’t let go as you calmed down, simply keeping you tucked protectively in his arm as if the water was threatening you. He used his free hand to reach up and brush a wet strand of hair from your face behind your ear. The gesture was so gentle, so careful, that you felt your heart flutter.
“Are you alright?” He asked.
You nodded. “Yeah, yeah, I think so. Thank you.”
He only nodded in return, his usually sharp gray eyes beginning to soften as he stared down at you. He didn’t move his hand away after moving the hair out of your face. It stayed there, lingering around your ear, until he decided to move down, cupping your face.
Surprisingly, it wasn’t the first time that shirtless Grayson Hawthorne was holding your face in his large hands and looking at you in a way that was more than an annoyed glance.
But it felt different this time. More intense, more real.
He wasn’t drunk, not hungover; there was no doubt in your mind that he really meant everything. His eyes were still locked on yours with an emotion that you couldn’t quite place, yet somehow felt deep within your core.
He leaned forward, so close to you that your foreheads were almost touching. His eyes fluttered shut and you realized what was happening only after you felt the words he whispered against your lips-
“I’m sorry.”
Grayson closed the small gap between you, gently pressing his lips to yours. The kiss was soft, almost hesitant at first, like he was giving you the chance to pull away or tell  him to stop. But when you didn’t, when you leaned into the kiss, the arm around you tightened.
Your hands moved on their own, both sliding their way up to rest on his chest. He responded to your touch with a low hum that made you shiver despite the heated pool.
His arm moved up to the back of your head, pushing you impossibly closer to him. The kiss grew more urgent, more desperate, like he was trying to express every emotion he’d been hiding for the past week. It was overwhelming, and for a moment nothing existed outside of you and Grayson Davenport Hawthorne.
When he pulled back, you kept your eyes closed. Grayson placed a small kiss on your forehead before resting it against his own. You were so close now, much closer than before, but that didn’t matter anymore.
“I’ve wanted to do that for a while now,” he admitted softly.
“Me too, Grayson,” you grinned. “Me too.”
When he kissed you again, he tasted like those stupid cherries he loved and felt like the end of the world.

how would luke react to nick? like i keep imaging it in my head, like maybe luke never went twith the whole over throw the gods thing, maybe the gods kinda enslaved him instead, who know? All i need to know is how luke would handle nick being in love with tori. (A drabble, full length thing, bullet point headcanons I DINT CARE I NEED ANSWERS)
i was almost like: yeah! here are some headcanons
*lists them out*
then was like…wait
this is my story. nick is my character, and while luke isn’t my character, i have created an au, which is my au with my oc, so these aren’t even headcanons they’re most def canon
thocanon that are subject to change, should i ever like actually address this in my story XP
also sorry this took me so long, i’m home for winter holiday and was spending time with my mom and getting presents for my friends (at the biggest, bestest bookstore, i could live there if they’d let me)
anyway
so let’s say luke comes back to camp somehow, someway he’s back at camp
and like the camp’s pretty okay with it???
but luke def gets a lot of “that’s the scary blond guy with the scar?” from the young’ins and “oh great the scary blond guy with the scar is back” from everyone else
but uh, that’s kinda a tangent
luke’s back everyone!
tori can’t keep anything from him bc she’s tori and she loves him so fucking much
besides, she’s a terrible liar around him bc he knows all her tells
it’s worse bc he’s a son of hermes, who is like, the god of reading tells
hermes is a trickster, a con artist, of course he’s gonna know how to read tells what
anyway, at first tori kinda just forgets abt it as she do, but luke doesn’t fail to notice the wounded doe eyes nick gives tori whenever she interacts with luke
and so he finally brings it up
side note: luke is super territorial abt tori, so he notices anyone giving her any sort of eyes
and not like in a possessive, unhealthy way, he’s just like…he loves her so much and no fucking way is he gonna let anyone else take her from him
not that he thinks she’s just drop him like a hot cake, but bc he’s a jealous bastard
and so it tori, so like they’re made for each other
back to the main point, he brings it up to her one night, on the roof of the hermes cabin (shhh)
and she just kind of freezes for a moment, trying to work out the best way to break it to him
she’s a little afraid of how he’ll react. not that he’d ever hurt her, but she doesn’t want to see him angry and hurt
of course, he’s angry and hurt anyway when she finally does reveal what that’s all abt, but he can’t help it and she knows this
she def tells him everything: the magic tricks, the growing closer, the kiss (yikes™), the uh…the fact that nick is now hopelessly and helplessly in love with tori (oops)
and from that point on nick would most def be enemy 第一个 (which is basically “number one” in chinese hey everyone always uses spanish so i though i’d mix it up a little, also i’m chinese so) in luke’s eyes
at first, nick’s most def intimidated by luke
big shot–almost destroyed the world, then saved it, is now back at camp, is older, and has a scary scar on his face
but nick doesn’t show it, he closes off his emotions instead
and ppl perceive this as him backing down and being a little meek abt it
it’s bc of his heritage, having grown up in two diff cultures: chinese and american
in china, ppl are taught not to really show their emotions, esp the men so like he falls back into smth that’s comfortable, self-contained, and safe for him, which ppl then misconstrue as meek
putting up his walls protects him from the emotions he’s afraid to feel: the hurt to know that tori really is forever out of his reach, his anger and jealousy toward luke
luke and nick don’t interact at all, and since tori’s nearly always with luke, leaving nick little to no time to hang out with tori like he’s been doing (just as friends, but he’s never gotten over his feelings toward her)
luke just gives him glares every moment he gets, and gets overly touchy-feely with tori to make sure nick knows that tori is his
and yeah it sounds a bit possessive, but luke is also 110% tori’s too (she owns his ass, bruh)
it’s all mutual and respectful, anyway
tori, as per yuzh, is oblivious to the fact that luke may be, just a little, slightly jealous
nick just pretends not to notice luke
until it becomes too much and his more americanized cultural side comes out
nick gets kinda aggressive
but it’s like an inbetween of aggressive and passive-aggressive
he doesn’t outright challenge luke to a duel or anything
but if luke starts to glare at him as they pass, he’ll make it a point to glare back
one time he even shoved luke’s shoulder
that’s what starts the feud between the hermes cabin and the hecate cabin
officially apollo is swizterland
unofficially, bc tori will always side with luke (even if she says she doesn’t), the apollo cabin sides with the hermes cabin
her siblings grudgingly side with her, but they’re don’t exactly wish luke well, despite how much their half-sister loves him, but they love her enough to stand by her decisions
luke saved the world, it doesn’t look like he’ll be trying to destory it anytime soon, “we’ll let him live. fine”
side note: they def, at one point after luke’s return, kidnap him, tie him up, and interrogate him for tori’s sake
not that they really need to, knowing his devotion to her, but they gotta enact some kind of revenge
it kinda backfires bc luke is impeccable at undoing knots with his mind if he concentrates hard enough
but then he gets an arrow to the foot, so
tori’s not horribly happy hearing abt this, but knows that her siblings just did it bc they want to take care of her and love her
but her siblings do make luke’s life a living hell sometimes. any chance they can get, really
anyway, back to the main
capture the flag is terrible
hecate may wield magic, but you should never underestimate a con man or a trickster
not to mention they’ve also go the apollo cabin who has magic of their own
the rest of the cabins just kinda pick sides, make bets
it’s been unheard of amongst the pantheon of a hecate/hermes feud, so siding over old parents’ feuds doesn’t work in this situation
speaking of, the gods are having a grand ole time watching it all pan out on hephaestus tv
don’t put hecate and hermes in the same room tho
you bet your ass aphrodite is having a hay-day with this drama. she’s done enough meddling in tori’s life, tho, and she knows that no magic of hers is going to make this into a love triangle
luke and tori’s love for each other is too deeply intertwined, breaking that bond would literally kill them at this point and she’d rather not anger hermes or apollo
leave their kids alone dammit
zeus only allows this to continue–luke living, not necessarily the sit-com–bc the gods, even hera, is finally focused on someone else’s fuck-ups and not his (literally and figuratively speaking)
chiron has to break up fights daily, and does his best to keep luke and nick apart
tori is angry at both of them for letting their testosterone fuel their thoughts
she talks to them each, separately abt how immature and stupid they’re acting
“this isn’t high school”
“luke, you’re like 24 now, stop acting like a child”
“nick, stop provoking him and grow up”
it doesn’t work
tori then tries to reason with lou ellen, who doesn’t really want to hear it at first
mostly bc being in a feud is fun, her mom is finally getting recognition among the camp
tori goes to will to try and talk some sense in lou ellen then bc she’s tired of this fighting
despite, at the end of the day, always sneaking over the hermes cabin to snuggle with luke
only snuggles tho, bc she’s mad that he’s acting like a brat, maybe the occasional kiss
that’s right! no sex for you luke, sorry not sorry boiiii
nick stays at camp just to piss luke off, like he could leave, bc he’s def done enough training and he really should focus maybe a little harder on his school work and shit, but this is too fucking fun
he’s a vindictive little shit
tori’s tempted to knock sense into both of them, literally, when this goes on for weeks
instead she wails on them during training
chiron tried to get nick into a different class, but tori was having none of it
so she’s spars with nick, absolutely going all out on him
luke it’s a little harder, bc damn he’s good, but she lets her anger and annoyance fuel her enough that she certainly makes a point
tori explains to luke over and over again that she was just confused, lonely, and hurt
luke totally gets it, but his jealousy doesn’t fade, and the more nick provokes him, the more he feels the need to defend himself
so it’s just a vicious cycle of testosterone-induced mutual hatred jfc boys calm the fuck down
eventually, tori manages to convince lou ellen to help end this petty feud
so they end up locking the four of them–nick, luke, tori, and lou ellen in a room
lou’s there as a mediator
and tori is too, but she’s been known to get violent so, everyone thought it best someone else be there with her
this doesn’t solve anything bc men aren’t socialized to work things through with words *sighs*
thankfully a fight doesn’t break out tho
it almost does, but tori threatens them with a swear on the styx, and they grudgingly back down
so the feud continues with no sight in end, much to tori’s and chiron’s annoyance
and basically all the other cabins other than the hermes and hecate cabins
i’m not really sure how to end this definitively, but i hope i answered your question thoroughly enough
thanks for sending this in! it was actually really fun to think abt XD

bratty!piper au
idk really want to call this, this is the only thing that came to mind, so i’m rolling with it
to start, instead of being down to earth, her father’s famous, she’s rich, and she fucking loves it
she’s the bratty asshole spoiled rich girl who says things like “my dad could buy you.” and “i don’t care, i can just buy another one” when talking abt like the newest expensive tech--phone, laptop, tablet, etc.--and “i have a car for each day of the week” etc.
she, like her dad, doesn’t fully accept her heritage--always trying to run away from it
she’d rather be hated for being a spoiled rich brat than for the color of her skin
of course, ppl hate her for that too, anyway, bc racism
speaking of, she goes to an insanely expensive private prep school--co-ed
bc she still has a rocky relationship with her father and he carts her off to prep schools the moment she’s old enough to keep her out of his hair
think of it as a playground for the filthy rich and beautiful
but thinks giving her weekly allowances that could break the bank will make up for it
it doesn’t
she buys the most expensive make up and spends hours making sure she’s runway ready every day
she makes the uniforms fashionable, whether or not they’re altered (but alters them just so that it’s not technically breaking an of the rules in the rule book)
she gets her hair cut by those who cut celebrities’ hair--they’re flown in from LA by her dad
she is a petty bitch
one time someone said something mean abt her hair and the next day, she’d used her persuasive voice (what she calls it before she finds out it’s charmspeak) to take their car for a joy ride and crash it
except she makes it look like an accident, and with her persuasive voice no one is the wiser
the kid’s parents are furious and piper enjoys every minute of the kid’s suffering
which for rich ppl is like not getting a new sports car or all the colors of the iphone 5c or some shit, if they get scolded/punished at all
piper mclean is flawless
her hair’s insured for $10,000
she does car commercials...in greece
her fave movie is friday night lights
once time she met orlando bloom on a plane...
and he told her she was pretty
one time she punched a fellow classmate in the face...and they thanked her for it
anyway i think i’m hilarious
needless to say when she finds out she’s a demigod and gets whisked away to chb kicking and screaming, she’s not a happy camper
when jason chews her out after the trio make it out alive from their meeting with boreas for not taking this quest seriously she realizes how much of a spoiled rich brat she’s been
let the character development begin
throughout the tlh, with jason and leo’s help, she slowly begins to change her thinking
some thoughts she can’t stop--like how horrible she must look after falling through the roof of a car factory and breaking her ankle, and then climbing into the sewers, getting hypothermia after he dip in the river that smudged her makeup, and her hair getting messy and tangled bc she doesn’t have a brush
and how jason will never love her now bc of this
but she doesn’t voice them and tries not to let them get in the way of finishing the quest
they’ll slip out every now and again, and then she’ll realize, and then look at leo and jason with embarrassment
but they don’t say anything bc they know she’s trying
besides, they have more important things to worry abt and it’s not like she said anything insensitive/mean
and she tries not to be so mean anymore
sometimes she doesn’t succeed and will say something insensitive
especially when it’s been a long day and everyone’s tired or stressed, bc it’s a fallback personality, it’s something she’s more comfortable with
unlearning is a process
but after jason snapped at her, leo found the courage to also speak up, so they tag-team
they do it nicer, tho, bc it is a learning process
aphrodite helps her too
being a child of aphrodite isn’t just abt being a pretty face, yes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t worry or fret over your appearance
if you like makeup and nice clothes, if that’s what makes you feel beautiful, that is okay
if it matters to you, then it matters. end of story.
at some point during their quest, before the wolf house but after like mount diablo, leo and piper have a bonding moment
jason is sleeping
leo feels comfortable enough with the changes piper’s made/is still trying to make, which he can see and appreciates, that he tells her abt his mom, abt his hatred for the power the hephaestus “gifted” him
piper recalls how he saved them with his fire powers, and how much he’s used them since
and realizes that maybe running from something you were born with doesn’t always work out
when she gets back to camp, she starts looking into her cherokee heritage more
she asks her dad abt it, and even tho he too runs, he remembers the stories
he tells her abt grandpa tom, the cabin, and the stories
he tries harder to take time off, engage, and spend one-on-one time with piper, in person
where he tells her all the stories he can think of
they go to grandpa tom’s cabin a lot
despite piper not liking it bc it doesn’t have any of the amenities she’s used to
bc being with him, talking abt her native american heritage is the happiest she’s ever felt before
by the end of tlh, she’s still learning, but she’s trying her best to unlearn the nasty habits of being so mean to others
with the seven, she gets even better, learns even more from all of them
frank, hazel, percy (he’s totes latino, i don’t make the rules), and leo are the most vocal. especially the first three upon meeting her for the first time
bc piper has some serious internalized racism to work through
not to mention classism issues. yikes. this one rubs percy the wrong way. A Lot
it’s rough, and she hates being called out
there are a lot of fights during the first few weeks of the argo ii’s maiden voyage
but they become her friends as the quest progresses. and are much closer for it
while traveling on the argo ii, she learns how to manage her time so she can still look runway ready but also protect the ship
even if it means messing up her hard work
eventually, she gets her makeup routine down to 30 mins
and i suppose near the end starts to pick and choose when she should wear makeup and when she shouldn’t
but she likes a small amt of makeup almost all the time
she teaches annabeth and hazel abt makeup and clothes
bc women fitting stereotypes isn’t a bad thing ya’ll
hazel and annabeth don’t get into it as much as piper, but they really do like the feeling of being all dolled up
besides beauty tips aren’t vanity. they’re for a healthy body, which are important
not to mention a healthy body helps keep the mind healthy (and vice versa)
for fun, when all is quiet on the western front, they’ll dress up and do their makeup
the boys are shocked and speechless, jaws hit the floor
they have a night where they paint each other’s nails
who knew they could look drop-dead gorgeous when they were sweaty from battle, wearing ripped clothes, bleeding from cuts, and bruised up and when they do their hair, makeup, and wear a nice dress
get you a girl who can do both, bae
she learns what charmspeak should be, how it should be used
she learns what being a child aphrodite means, what love and beauty are
bc they are so many amazing, wonderful things
that don’t just evolve around romantic/sexual love or vanity
like a girls’ night, whether that be practicing sword-fighting, or braiding each other’s hair
and like the true friendship of not being afraid to call your friend out if they’ve done something shitty bc you care enough abt them to want them be a better person
and if they care abt you, they’ll strive to be a better person for you
bc you can totes have on-point winged eyeliner and save the world, i don’t make the rules
