While at the bus yesterday I zoomed in on the q&a and took some screenshots. I ran them through remini and gosh how amazing they look😍
I’ve not decided whether or not Im going to write something about how it were to be there during the movie and q&a yet.

This weekend Tarjei, director Frøydis Fossli Moe, and actor Sjur Vatne Brean participated in a Q&A after the premiere screening of the short film "Hemale Education." SPOILER ALERT this video contains spoilers for the film, so watch at your own risk! That being said, this is delightful, and I hope you enjoy it.
Subtitles by me, HUGE thanks to @evakcardamom who worked all day yesterday with me to get this translated and subtitled to share with you all! 👏🏼🙏🤗
Tusen takk to Frøydis Fossli Moe for filming this for us, as well as fielding a few of our questions 😊 I can't wait to see this film! 🤩🎬 More at @hemaleeducation on IG. Moderated by @mikwiik.

Here it is, the Hemale Education Q&A with translations by me and subtitles by my dear friend!💚
I might be Norwegian, but gosh it was hard to translate the Q&A! I used around 5 hours in total (believe it or not)
We Norwegians have a bad habit of:
1: Talking too low
2: Talking too fast
3:Mumble a lot
The things listed above is a part of the reason why it took me so long🙈

«A manuscript where it says that I am going to be undressed, it doesn’t hurt to pray
But I understood the thing, and that is totally okay.
And it is always exciting to work with exciting filmmakers. And it is also exciting to participate in something political. Yes it was fun.»

Hemale Education director Frøydis Fossli Moe had an interview with Fotopodden in 2020. In the interview she is talking about the motivation behind making the short film Hemale Education.
Translation by @teejaysnow:
“No, but I like, I like in a way to play with people’s emotions. Like, right now I’m making a film called Hemale Education with Tarjei Sandvik Moe and Sjur Vatne as the main characters. And it began with me reading the newspaper - I need a newspaper intervention, really, I get so provoked. No, but I was sitting reading the newspaper and it feels like the world is going to hell, and not only that, but women’s rights are also going to hell. Countries that used to have good legislation for women have then gone back so we’ve taken one step forward and three steps back. Like, the abortion laws in many states in the USA, right? And there’s… there’s the same thing in all of Latin America and in really religious communities and all that. And it’s just like this, there is nothing that makes me angrier than this, so then I called a friend and said “let’s write a script together, I’m really frustrated”. And I don’t know why, I just got… it’s very weird to explain because it’s an extremely absurd universe I’ve created here. So what I really did was, the first thing I did to get the anger out was to write a list of things that frustrated me. How can I tell this to my audience, how can they understand where my anger is coming from. So I made, like, bullet points, three bullet points that I wanted to develop. And then I took it to the next level, so it’s basically what women go through on a day to day basis with structural oppression, and then I do it to men, just a notch more extreme. So men in this universe, they are… really, they go through so much, you feel sorry for them. And they’re sexualised too, they walk around in white boxers while the women are fully dressed. If you’ve seen the music video for Blurred Line, with Pharrell Williams, it was released and everyone loved it, the music video. And the song. It is, like, a catchy song. But it is men in suits with women who walk naked around them, and nobody reacted. So I wanted to do the same. It got really disgusting, I felt like Harvey Weinstein when I was fully dressed and around me I had twelve men who were wearing almost no clothes. But that was part of the point, though, to see the woman rule this universe. Then the men can simply get to learn their lesson.
It sounds like a very interesting film.
Yeah, it’s… it’s… twelve to fifteen minutes without dialogue. So, it’s pretty out there...“
