Happy Holidays @firebirddancing! I went with your request for art of Gaav (+bonus fighting with Phibrizzo) and had the thought that it might be fun to try and do something with their "beast" forms, so I just ran with that.

Trying to find a full body reference of Gaav's beast form was, uh, basically impossible, lmao. I took screenshots in the show and browsed Settei Dreams but couldn't find anything that clearly showed off what he had going on below the necks... I did a little research into depictions on Bune and then Wadjet as well, but in the end I just decided to keep it vague.

And don't worry about Phibrizzo killing Gaav- I think they're both just getting a lil' scuffed up. Dark lords are tough!

So, I decided to showcase three of the potential BBEGs for my Storm Hawks and Slayers epic crossover fic that I may or may not write one day. In any case, I should talk about them and how they were gonna be in the story.

Long-winded explanations and slight spoilers underneath

First up is Hellmaster Phibrizzo who was pretty much my first choice for a long time. I will say this upfront that he is kinda a different Hellmaster, like a Pseudo-Hellmaster. His goals are still the same as he wants to destroy the world though he's not gonna try using the same method as last time. Now, why I felt like using him was that even if he wasn't powerful like before, he could still raise the dead. And Atmos would have a lot of dead due to war with Cyclonia. So, imagine the angst of people having to kill their loved ones/old enemies again. Definitely devastating.

Next one up and probably the one I'm gonna use is the Red Queen. As I stated for some time, she's an awakened form of a piece of Shabranigdo and will bring forth destruction to the world. I feel like I gave her some aspect of other previous Slayers villains, but I'm still in the middle of developing her. But I feel like she is the most likely I would go with for the main villian.

Now, the last one is kinda an odd one as it's Lightning Strike but turned into a Zannafar. (You can blame FFX for that). He kinda survived during the final battle due to the armor he got from someone, but it was at the cost of his humanity. Over the years, he had to absorb others because of his newfound unsatisfied hunger and slowly, he started to turn into a flying Kaiju-sized monster that started to threaten everyone on Atmos. This makes both sides put aside their differences and try to defeat it before it can consume all of Atmos.

If there's any theme between all three, it's "Pseudo-Crystal Science gone wrong".

Maybe there a reason why every time check Miquella's lore parts, Hellmaster Fibrizo face came to my mind.

Okay he is a demon and Miquella are demigod but both take a young boy appearance (Fibrizo on purpose, Miquella cause of his not aging curse), and both really powerful and feared being on their respective world. (yes, despite being a more benin person, Miquella also called fearsome)

And i also got some chessmaster vibes from Miquella lore just as Fibrizo did with Lina and Gaav.

THANK YOU. The validation means a lot. It's not a fandom that is big (or existent?) in the reader-centric circles, that's for sure.

I want to write for Phibrizzo so badly. He's in my top 3 characters from Slayers (Xellos, Lina, Phibrizzo, in no particular order) and definitely one of my favorite antagonists. He's so cruel, the way he teases Martina always made me hate/love him.

Ahh also, you're making me think of this fic I read on Fanfiction.net years and years ago, must be 15+ years now. It was an AU and I won't pretend to remember much more in terms of plot since I remember usually skipping around for the Phibrizzo-centric chapters...

but I do remember Phibrizzo was absolutely horrifying in it. He was putting together some sort of magical tapestry made from corpses of people who he horribly killed in some way, sewing their corpses together in these mocking positions. At some point he had kidnapped Sylphiel and was stitching her alive into the tapestry... just awful, but such vivid, horror-filled imagery.

Anyway YOU are valid for validating my love for Slayers and especially Phibrizzo.

one of my top lina inverse moments has to be when she decides to defend xellos from gaav even though she's just learned that not only is he a mazoku, but he's been tailing her on hellmaster phibrizzo's behalf
