I find it interesting that during this sequence in Hell's Greatest Dad, Alastor's initially shown as the one dumping the figurative loads of 'Stress', 'Leadership' and 'Responsibility' on Charlie, before being the one to lift them from her. It's a reminder that Alastor's help is a double-edged sword, that for all his helpfulness, he is manipulating Charlie, that he is not to be truly trusted and that he has his own agenda. In the future, once he gets out of his deal and achieves his true goals, he will likely become the cause of Charlie's stress and troubles.

So episode 5 of Hazbin Hotel came out this past Thursday! I had the pleasure of storyboarding the first song "Hell's Greatest Dad". It was SUCH a blast to get to do something so high energy and catchy. I love Lucifer and Alastor, they were so much fun to play with in this song haha. Here's some screenshots of the final version of what I boarded! =]

Just a little detail I noticed during Lucifer's and Alastor's song. Alastor doesn't use his powers or tentacles but his actual hands (and his butt tee hee) to push away Lucifer.

For all the teasing and insulting he did, Alastor knows better than to actually harm the big boss of hell himself. Like banter is okay but using your powers against Lucifer is a big no no that not even Alastor would do

He didn't even retaliate when Lucifer hit him with his applesauce?? blast lol

I like how, in "Hell's Greatest Dad", Alastor is coloured in unusual shades of purple and green and pink while he's singing, whereas Lucifer has his normal colour palette.

It shows that Alastor is just putting on an act when he says he's like a father to Charlie, in contrast to Lucifer's genuine paternal feelings.

Alastor is, quite literally, not showing his true colours.

hey so do you think the reason why lucifer couldn't come to heaven with charlie is because he knows lilith is there?

lilith being in heaven was foreshadowed from here. charlie mentions it and lucifer looks over to the portrait of lilith. he knows she's there- and looks so guilty in this shot because charlie isn't aware, and he won't tell her. lucifer knows where lilith has been for those seven years, knows that lilith (from what we can infer) left both him and charlie to ascend to it, knows that he can't face her again as he is. by gosh does this man have a lot going on
