She's calm, kind-hearted and gentle, she's kind to everyone and most gems (even, some gems insult her) and animals (Including bugs).

In the past, she was quiet and doesn't talk much (especially, before she moves to Earth and meet Ryota). But, she's a calm and good listener, she always likes to listen to others talk.

She's polite and neat. Because she's Pearl and has lived a life of strict Caste System rules on planet she lived, she knows how to conduct herself well (especially, before she moves to Earth). But after she moves to Earth and live with Ryota, she felt more relaxed than before.

She's quite innocent and harmless to anyone, which makes many gems and people (after she moves to earth) adore her. Especially Purple Star Sapphire, Ryota and his family. However before Era 3, her innocence makes her seem like a gullible, especially some gems who flirt with her. So, she didn't really know that that gems was flirting with her, and she wasn't interested in them to begin with. Which makes her owner, Purple Star Sapphire and her assistant, Heaven Beetle worry about her, at that times.

Although, she's naive. But, she's always curious about new things, so she's not afraid to approach anything that interests her and try new things. She Especially, after she moves to Earth and lives with her boyfriend, Ryota and his family. She has a good memory (better than her boyfriend, Ryota) and quick learner than most Gems would expect.

She's a responsible in her work well than some gems think. Although, she looks like an innocent gem in many gems' eyes who didn't know her yet. Before Era 3, she often recorded her work for Purple Star Sapphire and served her owner well as her servant and assistant as other Pearls. Only Purple Star Sapphire and her friends knew and understood her. After she live with Ryota, she's also very responsible in housework. She always ready to help her friends, Ryota and his family if them want

She's honest, especially to her owner, Purple Star Sapphire as her old owner, Green Agate. She always following always Purple Star Sapphire, even follow her moves to Earth with her owner. Before Era 3, although Purple Star Sapphire was very good to her. But deep down, she still missed Green Agate as her first owner.

She love and care Ryota much, because he's the one who make her a smarter and stronger by taught her to take care of herself, such as doing housework, cooking, shopping, help out at his Okonomiyaki restaurant and taught her how to spend money wisely and save the money to buy things she wanted or save for the future when she came to live in Japan.

Ryota made her more bubbly before as such smile laugh, relaxed and be happy every time she was with him and his funniness and liveliness. Plus, he treated her and respected her very well as her owner, Purple Star Sapphire does. Which made her want to support and be by his side, and she want to make him smile and be happy like he did for her.

She love any cute thing and stuffs like cute fashion, cute dolls and other (even bugs). Also, she love to dress up in cute or sweet outfits like dresses or puffed sleeve shirt with cute pattern. Which, Lolita fashion is one of her fav. fashion. Also, she like many beautiful things like flower. Which, Sakura is her fav. flower.

She like animals and some bugs, mostly cute or beautiful animals and bugs. For bugs, she like Firefly and Ladybug (it's her most fav. bugs). For animals, she love rabbit much, it's her most fav. animal. Also, she like cat.

She like Furin wind chimes. Because, she loves to hear the sound of the chimes blowing in the wind, it's like music to her.

Since she had worked in writing before, she loves writing. Writing is her fav. hobbies, . After she moves to to Earth and live in Osaka with Ryota, she still like writing. But, she started learning more Japanese and English writing and reading skills. Mostly, she write about of her daily life, Income-Expenses (Ryota teaches her) and Practice writing Japanese and English. Her handwriting is better than her boyfriend's (thank to her practicing writing every day).

She like drawing, it's her second fav. hobby after she moves to Earth. She started learning how to draw by seeing an Ryota's illustration book, manga books and seeing the beautiful arts around her, while she live on Earth, it made her want to learn to draw. Mostly, she usually sticks to drawing cute cartoons. She always draws illustrations when she writes to make it easier for her to understand.

She love Spring Season much, because love to see many flowers blooming in spring, which looks so beautiful to her, especially Sakura.

She love to eat foods her boyfriend, Ryota and his mother cook, it made her want to learn how to cook, and try her best to impress Ryota and his family. Plus, she also wanted to live on Earth on her own without having to rely on her owner, Purple Star Sapphire too much. She was able to cook quite well, although not as good as Ryota, and he was impressed by her efforts.

For her fav. foods, she love Omusoba much. Because, she love idea of ​​wrapping Yakisoba in eggs. Okonomiyaki is her second fav. food, it's her first food she eat after she moves to Japan with Ryota.

She's who has good manners. As High-ranking gem, she knows how to behave in different situations according to the time and place like a noble gem, although she has moved to Earth.

Although, she's High-ranking gem like most Sapphires. But she's a down-to-earth, she has no problem living in places that are not very luxurious. On the contrary, she prefers to live a simple life like Ichiro's Apartment (after she move to Fukuoka). Being a down-to-earth, she likes to talk to other gems, or even human in a friendly manner.

The things she doesn't like is when some gems looks at her pearl, Mint Pearl with flirty eyes and . Because it's disrespectful to her. Plus she knows that her pearl is quite naive, she doesn't want anything bad to happen to her pearl. But fact, she just wants Mint Pearl to find someone who really loves and truly respects her, and she wants her pearl to choose someone she loves for herself (Before she moves to Earth and know Ryota).

Also, she don't like when some gems (especially high-ranking gems) insult Mint Pearl for her naivety. Because, she care Mint Pearl much as her true owner. Which, she knew that Mint Pearl is naive than other pearls. But Mint Pearl did work and served her well as other pearls, and she was capable of more than other gems realized.

She close to Ichiro, she admire his calmness and maturity (at least, for human as him in her thought). She learn about of Japan, Japanese culture and how to live in Japan from him. She likes to talk to him about general things and about of Japanese or Earth that she doesn't know yet. Also, she supports the relationship between Ichiro and Milky Quartz (Fact, She ship Ichiro with Milky after she knew Ichiro fall in love with her bodyguard). She sympathized with Ichiro after heard his past stories of how he lived alone for years after lose his first wife (Kaori). She think Milky can make him happier again. While at the same time, she thought that he would take good care of Milky and teach her to take care of herself.

She's good friend to Ryota, she like his friendliness and lively to her pearl, Mint Pearl and herself with her friends. Plus, she admired him for treating Mint Pearl better and with more respect than most gems she had seen and known. Also, he taught her basic skills to live on Earth, so she could take care of herself. She could see why Mint Pearl fall in love him and choose him, although he's human. It's reason, she let him date her pearl. Not only does she support him pairing with Mint Pearl, she also defends him from some gems who looks down him.

She's quite fond of Japanese culture, especially traditional Japanese art and Japanese clothes after she moves to live in Fukuoka with Ichiro. Because she loves Japanese culture, it makes her want to travel all over Japan. She often reads books and magazines about of Japan.

Sometimes, she like to wear kimono in public, because the kimono made her feel elegant in a different way from her normal dress she usually wears. But, she's okay to wear modern style. She's quite cheerful, energetic and bit hasty. Although she's small, but he doesn't let her size get in the way of anything she does.

Although, she's bit hasty and impulsive in sometimes. But she's good natured, especially who are kind to her.

She likes to go places with Ryota many times by being on his shoulder, his head or in his pocket shirt (in case, when he wear shirt with pocket). Because she's small, she can go to places that humans or some gems who is big than her cannot or can't reach.

In the past, She was careful and very protective to Mint Pearl (Kiyoko), especially when some gems come to flirt Mint Pearl. Sometimes, she feels stressed, tired and annoyed by other gems who flirt with Mint Pearl without any respect. She will protect Mint Pearl from other gems, as long as one of Purple Star Sapphire (Sumire) doesn't agree. Like Purple Star Sapphire, she want Mint Pearl to choose someone she loves for herself (Before she moves to Earth and know Ryota). But after she know and live with Ryota, She has become more relaxed about protecting Mint Pearl than before, She still wanted to help her and continue to take care of her as her friend.

She's close to Ryota. Because, he's her first human friend came to her life after she moved to Earth, she has learned many things about of Earth and Japan from him. She like his cheerfulness, and funniness, the way he makes Mint Pearl and herself smile and be happy with his positive energy. She could see why Mint Pearl love and interested in him, and Purple Star Sapphire had agreed to let him date her.

She has a good relationship with Ryota's brothers with his cousin and family. For brothers and cousin, she learn some skills such as writing and reading Japanese language from Simon, planting from Keisuke, and knowledge about fire prevention and first aid from Ichiro. For family, she's close to his grandmother (Hanae). Because, she loves listening to old stories about her life and Ryota's family in the past. Plus, she love her kindness and calmness, make her feel comfortable being with her. So, she was not surprised at all why Ryota loved his grandmother so much.

Like Purple Star Sapphire, she supports the relationship between Ichiro and Milky Quartz. Because she saw that Ichiro is good person and more mature than Milky Quartz, although he seemed to be a loner.

SU OC: Ryota's smile

[Update: August 28, 2023]

Okay, I draw SU OC, Ryota Nakamura with his girlfriend, Kiyoko (Mint Pearl) and his friend, Natsumi (Heaven Beetle).

Ryota is cheerful, energetic, optimistic and always has a friendly smile. Which makes regular customers and regular customers feel good with his positive energy every time, when they come to his Okonomiyaki restaurant, even his own parents (especially, his father) felt that way. Although, he had gone through many past things that came into his life.

But after Kiyoko came into Ryota's life and became a part of his family, She gave Ryota more encouragement, and his house looks more lively. He always felt good seeing her gentle and innocent smile. Plus, she's cute, gentle and docile, make him feel at ease every time he is with her.

Meanwhile, Kiyoko love Ryota's cheerfulness, funniness and liveliness. Especially, his friendly smile and his sometimes funny act, which always made her smile and laugh. For her, Ryota is who changing her life. Because, he's first human come into her life. He taught her everything about daily life in Osaka in some skills like housework, cooking and shopping (Plus, some help from his parents). He made her become a person who can take care of herself. Although, she still has an innocent girl and still has a lot to learn about living on earth.

For Natsumi (Heaven Beetle), she admired him. In that he taught Kiyoko to take care of herself. She became good friend to Ryota, she learned many things from him about earth, especially about Japanese culture. She can see, why Kiyoko interest in him.

You know, I was talking with a friend about Geminitay in @chrisrin Au and something came to mind.

The beetles in Steven Universe are rare, and wear long dresses which in Homeworlds culture implies a very high status

They are very small and weak so they MUST have some very powerful mental ability to be such high status, Homeworlds society is based on roles and use and the earth and heaven beetles wouldn't have been made if they didn't have some op ability to offset how weak their body are.
