Thinking about Hearthian idioms,,

"They'd bite their own fishhook" - a person who is especially gullible

"Like planting a rock and hoping it'll grow" - something that is utterly pointless/foolish to hope for

"You've caught your fish, now eat it" - same meaning as "you've dug your grave, now lie in it"

"Their eyes point in four directions" - someone who is scatterbrained/oblivious to what's going on around them > Full phrase: "Their eyes point in four directions, none of them forward"

"They burn all their marshmallows" - someone who squanders opportunities

"Like trying to outplay the whole campfire" - a task that is impossible/very difficult, especially when it's something a person is trying to do on their own that would be significantly easier with help

“Like Nomai runes” - something that is incomprehensible > If about a person (e.g. “They speak in Nomai runes”), someone who speaks in riddles > Obsolete (if you try to use it now, you’ll be “um, actually”ed to death)

“Can’t find the end of a marshmallow stick” - someone who is very drunk

“Chose the wrong moment to shit in a geyser” - self explanatory LMAO

Fanart for @tippertot 's fic "warp to me", which held my heart in a harrowing horror for at least three days. It's a really gripping AU! Definitely recommend it during this spooky season. Inktober Day 2 - "Translation" I thought it would be fun to imagine the Nomai Buddies (my deranged headcanon for Hatchling, Arete in this case, Hal, and Riebeck) working on the Nomai Translator-I imagine a lot of sleepless nights, cups of tea, papers and testing. ::)

The fact that so many people keep mispronouncing the hearthians saddens me. Because the developers actively chose they/them pronouns and made them Non-binary.

I understand that it's the norm and many people/streamers just say he/him by default because they're male themselves (since a lot of famous streamers are unfortunately still dominated by men), but I wish they would be more observant. And then people pointing out that its not a big deal when we correct them is clearly missing the point of its importance. It's not stated explicitly in the game or anything, it's just a normal thing that they're non-binary.

And they do define them as such because the Nomai uses she/her and he/him.

The owlks/strangers are not defined because we do not know how their species or view on gender is and therefore should be considered as gender neutral as well.

Thinkin about ones that would specifically affect the lungs. Maybe only really make themselves known after a good while of breathing really dry air.

I’ve made an OC for Outer Wilds which is an inherently pointless endeavor because the story of that game is self-contained, it’s ended, and my OC is a Nomai so their story essentially ends before it can begin, there’s no more story to tell since they all died out and the universe gets reset anyway so nothing really matters but….

If someone figured out time travel and inter dimensional travel, could they theoretically visit a universe that has died and been reborn? The next explorers to pop up in the new universe, could they go back in time or hop to a past iteration of their universe and find the Hearthians, the Nomai, the beings from The Stranger? Is this scientifically feasible?
