aksjxjshxhsjhskwbzkabjss a lot of the time wilbur cuddles with dream for warmth, and dream doesn’t mind, though dream rarely sleeps (gods don’t need sleep, but they’re capable of it.. dream tends to get nightmares when he sleeps, though, so he avoids it).

anyway, this would lead to many moments where dream is just awake with wilbur curled next to him like a cat, and suddenly he just.. gets prayers from wilbur.

the first time it happens, dream thinks wilbur woke up and is talking to him, so when he turns his head and sees wil just fully asleep but somehow praying in his sleep, dream has a little “wtf” moment.

also, usually prayers made in sleep wouldn’t actually reach a god since they lack conscious intent and direction. but a) because wilbur is praying to someone he knows personally rather than individually, and b) dream is quite literally right next to wil, he can hear the prayers. also it required a bit of wilbur just being *gestures* like that.

it’s very shocking the first time it happens though because dream did not know this was possible
