Bueno, primero daré mi postura en general sobre la canción, muchos no la toman como una canción larry en sí sino como un relleno/? pero habemos otrxs que creemos está inspirada en elounor o en las barbas de L pero desde una perspectiva de H celoso y dolido.

Personalmente creo que fue escrita por un Harry celoso/dolido y sigue la línea de otras canciones como: Happily, Just a little bit of your heart y To be so lonely + Girl Crush + Jolene. (playlist) y ahora te voy a explicar porqué…

Al inicion de WOMAN escuchamos Adam(x) (guitarrista de la banda) diciendo esta frase, la cual en mi opinión no tiene relación con la canción; podría ser en relación al proceso que hubo durante la grabación del albúm ya que sabemos todos los días veían comedias románticas en Netflix (x) ,así que esta frase no es relevante desde mi pov.

Verso 1

Aquí es donde empieza lo interesante hahaha... inicia diciendo ‘soy egoísta, lo sé’ y en mi opinión esto lo dice porque sabe como funciona todo esto, sabe que es parte de su ‘trabajo’ que no es porque L elija hacerlo sino porque tiene que hacerlo, o sea lo dice porque sabe que L no tiene opción pero aún así le molesta la situación.

Egoísta: persona que antepone el interés propio al ajeno.

**En el análisis de Kiwi dije que ellos a veces escriben desde 2 perspectivas pero en WOMAN yo creo que H está hablando con 2 personas así que voy a usar colores para identificar a cada quien.

En las primeras 2 líneas creo que es obvio que le habla a ella, la ‘mujer’ y pero enfocándonos en la 2da él dice ‘pero no te quiero ver nunca con él’ y si lo juntamos sería ‘soy egoísta, lo sé… pero no te quiero ver nunca con él’ lo que me lleva a pensar que a H no le importa si tienen que hacerlo o no, a él NO le gusta la idea de que alguien más está con el hombre que ama.

Después en la 3ra y 4ta línea le habla a L, dice ‘te lo dije, pero ya sé que nunca escuchas’ esta parte la dice de una manera posesiva e incluso se puede notar con la pronunciación en la canción (x) y ahora no necesariamente hay que unir ambas líneas, siento que es una especie de reclamo entre ellos… H diciendo que le ha dicho a L que NO le gusta la situación pero aún así no hace nada y después entraría el ‘soy egoísta, lo sé’ porque a mi parecer recalca que sabe que no puede hacer nada L por cambiarlo pero aún así le molesta y él se lo ha hecho saber.

En el precoro otra vez se dirige a ella, y las primeras dos líneas son realmente dolorosas… supongo que debes haber visto alguna vez una de esas secuencias donde H se ve triste e incómodo mientras L y Elk interactúan (no quiero causar dolor así que pondré solo un ejemplo) (x)

Este es del 2013, estaban en Pensilvania para dar un concierto y pues antes del concierto estuvieron haciendo sus cosas… H estuvo jugando football americano con Niall y su seguridad y todo normal hasta que salen L y Elk juntos que claramente se ve en el video que H les avienta el balón cuando los ve y después s tira al piso :(

Pues ya teniendo contexto puedo seguir con mi explicación… estas dos líneas IMO son de H diciéndole a ella que aunque NO sea real le duele porque alguien más está con la persona que quiere y luego adivina que hizo H!!! cambió la letra de la canción, o sea los pronombres.

La primera vez que cambió los pronombres fue en México (mi país mi país) pero esto solo es un dato; el punto es que después de los conciertos en México se hizo más recurrente el cambio de letra (x) (x) (x)

Y aquí se hizo más obvio que la canción no es para ‘una exnovia la cual no puede superar’ porque… cuál sería la razón para cambiar los pronombres???... Esta línea es una declaración, él está diciendo que ella está ocupando el lugar que le pertenece no importa si no es real, a ella la están viendo con su pareja no a él.

Y por último la 4ta línea que es muy dolorosa; ‘pero me estás haciendo sangrar’ yo creo que también va dirigida a ella porque ya le dijo que no la quiere cerca de él, que le molesta su presencia y que lo lastima verla con él, así que está es otra declaración solo que esta vez de todo el dolor que le produce ella.

Nunca le había prestado tanta atención al coro, siempre sentí que solo era parte de la canción pero luego de haberla escuchado en loop durante toda la semana me dí cuenta de que tiene un significado más profundo…

Esto es algo viejo/? pero cuando salió recuerdo que muchxs empezaron a decir que se escuchaban quacks de patos (ik hahaha) pero después de mucho pensarlo llegué a la conclusión de que estos ruidos obviamente tendrían un porqué y creo que es como una especie de juego de palabras/? me refiero a esto:

(x)¿por qué hacer sonidos de patos? me puse a pensar y recordé que los patos son usados como señuelos y sabes qué más es un señuelo? las barbas (lol) entonces IMO los ruidos de patos que se escuchan son haciendo referencia a ella

Después ya entrando más en la letra, nunca lo había pensado pero siento que es como cuando eres pequeñx y alguien te dice algo pero ya estás hartx de esa persona entonces te tapas los oídos y empiezas a decir “lalalalalala” para ignorarlx, entonces sería ‘woman, woman (lalalalala)” lo que me lleva a pensar que realmente no la soporta y trata de ignorarla de todas las maneras posibles; y el ‘wo-women’ creo que es una manera como para dar a entender el desagrado que siente por ella, no es capaz ni de mencionarla sin sentir molestia.

La 1ra línea considero va dirigida a L, diciéndole que está tentado pero no en una mala manera, quiero decir que está tentado a decirle a todos, acabar con esto porque no lo soporta pero no puede.

En la segunda línea podría ser desde (a) ambos puntos de vista, ellos como relación diciendo que ‘las disculpas nunca arreglaran esto’ haciendo referencia a su management tal vez sobre las veces que se han disculpado por toda esa situación pero obviamente una disculpa por más sincera que sea no sana todo el dolor causado. (b) aunque también creo que podría ser solo H diciendolo a L que sabe que por más que no sea su culpa y aunque se disculpe eso no arregla todo el dolor que siente al verlo relacionado con alguien más (alguien que no es él)

Y la 3ra es una declaración nuevamente, si lo ponemos en contexto creo que trata de decir que está completamente triste, dolido por esto; y de ahí en la 4ta podrían ser ambos otra vez hacia su management diciendo todas las veces que han prometido esto va a acabar pero que son solo palabras porque no hay acciones que lo demuestren ‘y las promesas se rompen como puntadas’

Y el pre coro 2 inicia de manera similar al 1ro pero esta vez lo pone en pasado, así que siento que aunque le habla a ella le dice que espera que haya notado lo mucho que le molesta que los vean juntos, como para dejárselo en claro.

Y las últimas 2 lineas H citó el poema Viejo muerto en una habitación de Charle Bukowski (x) (escritor y poeta)... la poesía es algo compleja al igual que las canciones ya que son abiertas a muchas interpretaciones y después de haber releído muchas veces este poema yo diría que habla sobre la vida del artista, sobre como hacer eso que llaman ‘arte’ puede ser una prisión para el que la hace ya que pierde sus libertades y causa dolor.

Pero ahí no acaba la 3ra línea… ‘esta cosa en mi, aulla como una bestia’ cuando dice ‘esta cosa en mi’ creo que se refiere a los celos y la molestia que siente y el ‘aulla como bestia’ a que no puede controlarlo, es humano y es normal tener emociones hacia las situaciones que vivimos y aunque el sepa que no es real no deja de molestarlo y aunque lo intente no puede para sus celos.

I need to see how he ended up using her handbag as a pillow because I doubt he just dropped dead asleep on it on his own! She totally placed his head there! Hayame’s denial is as deep as Mariana Trench and can be beaten only by the depth of her attraction for Issei! I mean, she is literally mooning over him sleeping!  The little stunned pause Issei does until he gets with the program and realizes Hayame is real, looking at him, and not a dream, and shies adorably away in embarassment! The drama has been such a satisfying and rewarding watch with how well and tightly written is the progress of the love story with all the throwbacks and parallels to their early interactions.

He becomes worried she might have discovered his carefully prepared plan which he agonized over the whole day when he made a cameo appearance in Cinderella Complex episode 5 where he tries so hard to make that firework challenge list because he doesn't know how to ask Hayame directly on a date and is troubled she might refuse him right away if she thought it were one. He is such a precious cutie pie I can’t even! 

When in doubt how to ask the girl you like out, ask her to battle it out in a showdown! And in a typical Issei fashion, he even makes a bucket list! Of course, he does! When you think of it, Issei has a huge potential as a prospective lover - he is loyal to a fault, gorgeous, strong like a bear, his penchant for list makes him organized, can cook and if he starts to act out he is also easy to manage, all Hayame needs to do is to sprinkle some alcohol on him and he will be out.

He is so hesitant and unsure of himself but plucks up the courage and sheepisly shows Hayae his list for their date contest and nervously asks her whether she would like to go with him. Then he wavers, presses his lips like a little boy, and shyly adds he wants to watch the fireworks with her, too. I swear there is something so utterly endearing and beautiful about the way Issei woos Hayame! So sincere, uncontrived, fragile and powerful at the same time.

It’s so obvious that they are both aware this is a date but need the excuse, especially Hayame to allow herself to agree because there is no denying how much she wants to go. The moment Issei mentions the fireworks and she inquires if it’s going to be only the two of them, she realizes he is asking her out on a date.And just because they don’t call it a date doesn’t mean it isn’t one.

Once again, Issei is giving her a choice and it seems he is prepared for a refusal...

Excuse me while I hyperventilate! They are so lovely together! He gazes at her with such utter tenderness, vulnerability and longing! All blushing and skittish when he realizes how close he is to her and shifts away quickly.

THEY ARE SO INSANELY PRECIOUS AND FUCTIONAL!

FIND YOURSELF A MAN WHO LOOKS AT YOU THE WAY ISSEI LOOKS AT HAYAME WHEN SHE PROMISED HIM A DATE! LIKE HE HAS JUST WON THE WORLD! Just look on his face when she says yes - it’s like the embodiment ‘I can’t believe it’ giddiness and wonder, like a child on Christmas morning learning he got the present he thought he could only dream of. Smiling like he is on cloud nine, assuring her he’s going to definitely beat her at their ‘contest’ (he is so going to lose LOL!) because it’s totally NOT a date. 

Finally, when she reminds him about the water bottle and he obediently fetches it and follows her on their daily walk!

¿¡SABÍAN QUE TINA ES TUCUMANA?!? :D

 Ok, si logré captar su atención con eso, procedo a explicar:

Los primeros asentamientos españoles estables en lo que es el actual territorio argentino sucedieron en Santiago del Estero y Tucumán, a mediados del siglo XVI. Agustina nació de un soldado español que trajo a su esposa desde los asentamientos de Asunción (Paraguay) para poblar esta parte del territorio.

¿Por qué elegí Tucumán? Porque me parece bonito que haya nacido en el mismo lugar donde declaró su independencia <3

Agustina no sabe nada sobre sus orígenes: sus padres murieron en manos de los diaguitas durante una expedición para expandir el territorio español. Más adelante, otro grupo de españoles la halló entre los brazos de su madre fallecida, la salvaron y la bautizaron. "Agustina García" no es su verdadero nombre: nadie sabe cómo la llamaron sus padres. No se conservó ningún registro de su nacimiento.

Durante sus primeros 200 años de vida, Chikitina vivió intercaladamente entre las casas de Tucumán y Córdoba: así conoció a varias de sus provincias, aunque no a todas. Durante todo este tiempo no representó ningún territorio; simplemente era una niña inmortal a quien dejaron viviendo junto a las provincias, pues si ella no envejecía como los humanos, significaba que le aguardaba el propósito de ser algo en el futuro.

Ese propósito llegó en 1776 cuando se creó el Virreinato del Río de la Plata y la asignaron a ella como su representante: fue entonces cuando la trasladaron a Buenos Aires por primera vez y conoció a Juan Manuel (Buenos Aires) y Damián (futuro Uruguay), entre otros.

Algunos datos triviales sobre Chikitina:

•No hablaba NADA. Durante toda su niñez fue una nenita muy callada y observadora. Primero que nada realmente depende de tú criterio el decidir si estanearle o no, muches (la mayoría) no lo hace ya que Maya Henry es una adolescente un poco inmadura que contribuye al closeting que sufren Zayn y Liam.

Realmente no sé que es lo que te agrada de su trabajo pero lo respeto, siendo un poco crítica no me gustan sus pasarelas, Maya sabe cuales son sus ángulos para posar en portadas y ajá pero realmente el hecho de que contribuya al closeting es algo que no perdono y hace que no la quiera stanear. Además, se supone que es la """Novia""" pero no hace absolutamente NADA para ayudar a Liam, no lo promociona con su música nueva, no sube nada de él, no hace NADA.

¿Pero quién es Maya Henry? La primera noticia real que recibimos sobre ella se debe a que su padre gastó mas de 6 millones de dólares en la fiesta de su decimoquinto cumpleaños en 2016 (más sobre eso más adelante). Pero, ¿qué prueba esto? Que su padre es increíblemente rico y no tiene problemas para gastar millones de dólares en una sola noche si eso significa que su nombre aparezca en los periódicos. No solo ha hecho esto con Maya, gastó otros 4 millones en el día 18 de su hijo y otros 4.5 millones en su propio 56 cumpleaños, y ambos de alguna manera llegaron a los titulares (¿promoción pagada tal vez?).

(Literalmente, el único lugar donde pude encontrarlo fue dailymotion ...) Tienen una página de Facebook, pero la mayoría de los videos se han configurado como privados en YouTube, por lo que de todos modos no puedes ver casi nada en la página.  Probablemente haya un promedio de 50 interacciones por publicación (y esa soy yo siendo generosa).

Maya comenzó su propio canal de YouTube a principios de 2018, pero eso tampoco ganó fuerza (actualmente está en 16K) y no hay videos en la página (estoy bastante seguro de que los eliminó, aunque no puedo encontrar copias de ellos en ninguna parte, probablemente porque a nadie le importó descargarlos).

Debo admitir que lo estaba haciendo bastante decente antes de conectarse con Liam, incluso había hecho algunas portadas internacionales para revistas como Elle Romania y Vogue Ukraine.

Pero Gigi había desfilado en la pasarela de la moda en NY a la edad de 18 años, una hazaña que maya parecía estar cerca. En cuanto a la respuesta, un aumento en los seguidores conduce a un aumento de fanáticos, lo que conduce a una mayor probabilidad de que mas personas compren la mierda que adjunta tu nombre: maquillaje, accesorios, líneas de ropa, etc. - y una mayor audiencia que la que tiene (y sus ´mejores amigas´) protagonizando *tos*  Victoria´s Secret Fashion Show *tos*.

Pero una cosa en particular que realmente destacó, fue la ´´relación´´ con un tal Zayn Malik...¿ves a dónde va esto?

Por qué Liam?

Ahora, a diferencia de Zayn, Liam realmente no tenía mala prensa de la que necesitaba distraer al público en general. Sin embargo, prácticamente solo tuvo tres puntos de conversación diferentes en las entrevistas; 'su hijo', Cheryl y One Direction. A nadie le importaba escuchar esos tres temas, porque era la misma mierda una y otra vez. Introduzca un tema nuevo (pero también muy antiguo): ¡una nueva novia!

Le dio a los periódicos algo nuevo de qué hablar (aunque, curiosamente, siempre terminaban el artículo hablando de Cheryl y su hijo), alguien que Liam podría usar para promocionarse un poco más.   Entonces, aunque los beneficios se inclinaban mucho a su lado, todavía había algo para Liam, y ella ya había estado vinculada a él en el pasado, una configuración fácil.

A pesar de que ni Liam ni Maya estaban etiquetados en el hilo, lo que significa que quienquiera que estuviera detrás del teclado habría tenido que ir a buscarlo, especialmente porque el hilo probablemente solo había tenido unos pocos cientos de interacciones antes, llamaron la atención.  (El tonto que hay en mí quiere creer que esto fue en realidad un movimiento inteligente hecho por Liam para mostrarle a la gente cuán sombría es su relación, pero dudo mucho de ese hecho considerando lo espeluznante que lo hace ver) [rueda los ojos].

No es un buen aspecto, pero supongo que cualquier prensa es buena prensa según el equipo de Liam.

Maya y su familia están sedientos de atención. Intentaron captar esa atención gastando millones de dólares en fiestas de cumpleaños para ganar titulares. Obviamente no es suficiente para ellos, probaron su propio reality show de televisión que de alguna manera llegó a la segunda temporada antes de desechar todo por completo debido a las bajas calificaciones. Maya comenzó un canal de YouTube, no salió tan bien como esperaba y luego se centró en modelar a tiempo completo. Sin embargo, no estaba escalando tanto como le gustaría, y dado que su padre no tuvo problemas para pagar a las celebridades en el pasado, probablemente no tuvo problemas para pagar al equipo de Liam para que él hiciera de novio. 

El equipo de Liam vio esto como una oportunidad para que un nuevo tema se mencionara en entrevistas y titulares y decidió hacerlo. Jodieron con la edad, trataron de arreglarlo y empeoraron la situación, y esperaban que eventualmente todos lo olvidaran. Aparentemente funcionó porque aparentemente todavía están juntos.

i listened to starry session! here are some thoughts. and to be clear: i enjoyed it a lot, and also these are just my personal opinions. you may disagree! that's totally fine. there is no value judgment here. i think sometimes people can't tell whether what i say is an opinion or like, something i think is an absolute truth, so. this is an opinion.

Song of Blooming Flowers: this one was just kind of okay. like i liked it! but it didn't feel all that interesting.

Jounetsu no Mezameru Toki: i think this might be one of the most forgettable songs in the franchise and this cover did not change that

Procyon: now we're fuckin talking. karen and claudine give nana and maya a break from being villains. it's very cute, and i think the song greatly benefits from having a deeper voice in there... the characters' register in the original song are all way too similar and imo it's kind of exhausting

Pride and Arrogance: hell fucking yeah. futaba has one of my favorite singing voices in the franchise (shoutouts to Teru, how is her voice so sexy) but Kaoruko is the real star (lol) here. the girl has got RANGE.

Fancy You: i think i might like this better than the original? it just doesn't have the 'wow' factor that some of the other starry session tracks have. like, it sure is kuromaya doing a love song! it's good but doesn't really stand out.

RE:Create: i love junna but it's a shame that this is so little of the song. like i get that the original is like 6-7 minutes long or something but still... it would've been nice having someone doing nana's part.

Circus!: i think i like the original better, especially since the original is one of my favorites. i think that maya and hikari just don't play off each other well here, especially when compared to the kaotaba version

Driving the Auriga: this one's fun. i need an isolated sound clip of claudine saying "yo!" so it can go in the claudine sound clip hall of fame with "goddamn!".

Chasing Sirius: i didn't think it was possible to find a pair of characters as funny to imagine arguing in an ikea as kaotaba but damn if they didn't prove me wrong. nana and maya playing off of each other always rules, especially since they've got pipes.

GANG☆STAR: not as good as the original, but it's fucking GANG☆STAR. you can't go wrong, no matter who's singing it. but i think that this suffers from not having maya and futaba to be on the low end.

Bonds of the Stars: HELL YEAH GO OFF QUEEN. i had no idea what to expect from this going on but holy fucking shit, Ayasa is so fucking talented.

Onikurenai: I'm sorry, i love mahiru, but she just doesn't work here. the song ends up being a lot more bland than the original fumirui version. I'm sorry haya-chan

Love's Wicked Pitch: i could listen to Teru literally all day and never get bored so. also, imagining futaba chasing hikari around is extremely fucking funny. absolutely incredible

Rose Poems: fucking S tier. watered my crops, cleared my skin. one of the covers that i think might be better than the original. akishio is incredible but. moepii. and junnanana. you can't compete with that.

Sanjivani - Weeks 4 + 5

Overall Plot

Heavy in terms of the background stories for Sid and Ishani and their deeply ingrained emotional issues. Their relationship though, phew; such highs and lows, that I'm almost dizzy with how quickly they fight and make up. Though the Juhi/Shashank/Anjali/Vardhan track remains good to watch on the basis of performance, not much progress on that front plot-wise, other than Shashank unwillingly approving the luxury ward and the fallout from that.

The Medical Stuff

Still boring for a medical procedural junkie like me; it seems like they just flip through a medical textbook and pick some two, three randomass illnesses, but then barely go into depth about it. It’s like they pick these things just for the novelty of the name and nothing else.

The Acting

Needless to say, the seniors reliably turn in the best performances. Namit continues to get better, fewer missteps each week than the last. Also nicely compelling in some scenes where he emotes quietly with his face. Surbhi on the other hand seems to be a see-saw; it's just bewildering for me to watch her all over the place like this, after seeing her be nicely measured in the first 1.5 years of IB. IDK if it's the character or the direction or what, but she seems so messily uncontrolled in this role compared to what I've seen of her as Haya/Anika. The supporting cast - Rashmi, Jason, Robin, Kunal, Rahul - got marginally more to do these weeks than previously, and they were pretty good; especially Rashmi who got some nice scenes to do.

The Characters

Sid: Still the character I'm most invested in. He has major existential angst about possibly being naajaayaz and not knowing who his father is. They also brought back Fuckboy Sid; well not really, but his "past" catches up with him when 3 girls he was seeing at the same time show up together to beat him up. He's definitely a charmer alright, seeing how he gets out of sticky situations like these. As a doctor, I truly like watching him in his element; he’s smart and focused and has wonderful bedside manner; gentle and compassionate, knows how to get patients to open up to him, and how to comfort them in turn. He's the best at his job among the residents, and we can see why Shashank likes him so much. Also, like Shashank he’s a good mentor, the way he guides his juniors not only in matters of medical stuff, but also in interpersonal stuff like self-esteem, and things like basic human empathy, that’s oft-forgotten in high-pressure situations. WRT the romance, I find how besotted/concerned he is for Ishani pretty adorable. Like it's an appropriate amount (for the time they’ve known each other) and comes from genuinely liking her as a person, even with all her quirks and unlikable traits. And thankfully there’s zero creepy slo-mo staring or having intrusive romantic thoughts while working or anything like that (side-eye at Armaan/Riddhima.) Like, he's in tune with her emotionally, despite all their innumerable differences and genuinely cares for her in a selfless manner, even with the constant ups and downs in their dynamic.

Ishani: Continues to be diagnostic genius but in the dumbest fucking way. A ex fling of Sid’s making a threatening gun gesture with her hand at him led Ishani to deduce that the kid had swallowed bullets and thus had lead poisoning???? She diagnosed a patient that NINE SPECIALISTS couldn't diagnose?!?!?!? (Like, either she's the best diagnostician in the goddamn world, or Rishabh was lying and/or Sanjivani's specialists are hella bad at their jobs.) Her diagnoses kinda come outta fucking nowhere; till date, only the Refsum Disease one seemed legit, coz she actually looked into a patient's chart AND ran multiple conclusive tests for it; nahi toh random tukkebaazi se hi chal rahi hai iski career. Also, I sympathise with her on the subject of her parents, but after a point, her reactions are so damn extra. Like, I’m not a fan of the fuckery that is organizational hierarchy, but she’s just TOO FUCKING MUCH, from slapping Sid, to getting some senior doctor suspended for sleeping on the job, to undermining senior specialists in front of their patients. Like god sis, you've barely been here for 2 weeks or so. Would it kill you to simmer down and lay low for a bit? You’re a first year resident for fuck’s sake; save this nonsense for at least the third year. Idk how or why anyone puts up with her, honestly.

Asha & Aman: Still genial, still best in small to medium amounts. Aman is kinda hilariously self-centered but pretty dumb (I have serious doubts as to how he got into med school/Sanjivani. He's rich, so maybe influence?) Asha is better knowledge-wise, but super competitive and always wanting to be on every single case, which gets annoying; but they gave her a good reason for being that way, which Rashmi performed quite compellingly. What I love most about Asha is that she doesn't carry her momentary irritations with Ishani into their overall relationship. That's work stuff and outside of it, she's very affectionate and fond of Ishani, even fiercely protective and supportive of her when the latter is rendered weak by the poster drama. Good. I'm here for tight friendships between girls. Aman's a pretty good friend too; misguided in his attempts coz of his dumb self-centeredness, but he's intrinsically a good dude whose heart's in the right place and tries his best to comfort his friends when they’re disturbed.

Dialogue of the Week:

Asha [re: Ishani/Sid]: Arre in dono ka jab dekho marad-lugaai jaisa jhagda hi chalta rehta hai; yeh ghar-grihasti waale jhagde baad mein na kar sakte?

Rishabh: Continues to be The Fucking Worst. Chalo, Ishani ke baare mein Vadhan fed him the gossip, but how the fuck does he know so much about Sid's personal life????? I'd forgive his fuckery if he was at least a good doctor, but he's not; he's just an annoying character with zero redeeming qualities whatsoever. I honestly wait for his biweekly roughing up by Sid, coz by god, bada mazzaa aata hai jab is kameene ke saath pitaai hoti hai.

Neil: Ok so it turns out he's a doctor who's just really really squeamish when it comes to blood. My question is, then why is he in an area that involves an abundance of it in the first place? There's plenty of specializations in medicine that don't involve seeing blood/other gross stuff (psychiatry, neurology, physiotherapy/physical rehab, radiology, nutrition, nuclear medicine......) Why not go for one of those? Like, the end of MBBS/internship should have been long enough to figure out this issue with blood and pick an appropriate specialization no? Is he a surgical resident too, like the others? In that case, it’s just truly bizarre how/why he chose this field. Other than that minor issue, I love him, he is softest and purest boy. Give him a dancing scene every few weeks, coz I wanna watch Jason groove!

Rahil: The most likable person on this show. WHY THE FUCK WON'T YOU GIVE US MORE OF HIM, HUH????? He's so sweet and genuine and soft (to the degree of stupidity - he took time off and became an ambulance driver to help Sid sort out his issues with Ishani???? Lol boo, I get he’s your best friend/boss, but yeh thoda too much ho gaya.) Hopefully he’ll be proving Rishabh is behind all the posters next week, and thus we all win - Sid coz his name is cleared, Ishani coz she’ll get the name of her culprit/learn to trust that she’s got friends who have her back here, and me coz I’ll get more smartypants cutiepie Rahil!!!!

Shashank: They're not really giving me any meaty Shashank/Anjali stuff (other than what they’ve already shown us in the last few weeks) so thank god they're giving me the next best thing: Shashank being an excellent “dadTor” (dad + mentor) to Juhi, Sid, and Ishani. Esp. with Sid & Ishani, I genuinely love how he minces no words and is always forthright with them, but never ever in an unkind way. He's always gentle and soft and puts it in a way that guides them to introspect and be better. That's what good parenting/teaching is; not solving the problems FOR your kids, but enabling them to come up with the solutions on their own, thus making a lasting impression/change in their psyche. 

Juhi: They've kept her all tied up in admin stuff than medical, and I'm kinda ehhhhhh about that, but it's always a balm to my heart when she appears with her gentle smile and calming demeanor. I genuinely feel so bad for her that she’s stuck in between Shashank and Anjali, and feels responsible for fixing their relationship, even though it doesn’t really have anything to do with her. Also lol, the best scene in this fortnight was her ‘BITCH WTF????’  face when Vardhan was getting handsy with Anjali in front of her. BUT ALSO TELL US WHAT THE ISSUE WITH RAHUL IS ALREADY?!?!?!?!!!!

Anjali: I don't like this show's up/down writing of Anjali. On one hand they have her being compassionate towards that patient's husband who slapped her, but then she goes and makes multiple hurtful comments to Ishani? Surely she, of all people, whose biggest issue in life is being unable to break out from under the shadow of parents in the same profession, would understand and empathize with Ishani? Also, it’s clear that Ishani has a family connection with the Guptas and has been visiting them since she was a child, so why does Anjali have zero familiarity with her? Like, you’d have some kinda fondness for a kid you’ve known for 15-20 odd years no? I really don’t like the way they’re portraying her as a person who’s got no real human feelings for anyone or anything beyond her job/dad’s approval. #JUSTICE4ANJALI

Vardhan: Ugh, like Rishabh, continues to be a gross slimeball. Like honestly, doesn't a CFO of a major hospital have more to do than pettily making two residents keep fighting amongst themselves? Get a life, dude. Go visit that son of yours whom you're always talking to on the phone, or something. And for the love of god, please stop hitting on Anjali in this gross manner. (Guessing he’s divorced, and the wife has the kid, and thus these shenanigans.) Also another totally petty gripe, I really hate how the hair at the nape of his neck is always sticking out weird. Can someone put some gel on that shit for him????

Let us tell you about this photo shoot (laughs). Letter stamps were prepared as photography props. The person who put all the letters together to spell out the title of the upcoming song [TONIKAKU HEY] would be named the champion! This is the game the member played together (laughs). When the start of the game was announced, desiring to be first place in the world, Haya-chan needlessly gathered all the stamps for himself (laughs). Why is Taiki-kun grasping for the bottom by spelling the word “TONIKAKU PAY”. ..?!?  In the second round, the one who spelled [Da-iCE] first would triumph, though they only had capital letters so they couldn’t get the traditional lowercase stylized parts right. This time they were only allowed to take the stamps one by one, and if they grabbed the correct stamp, they could move ahead, if not, they had to throw it back … it was a fierce battle (laughs). Here as well, the one that was completed first and was defending his place at the top was Yudai -kun! …Hmm? Yeah, Yudai-kun, turned in his paper spelled like “DAI-CE” (laughs) Ah ~ how fun!

Tonikaku Fun

Sota: Recently, Toru-kun and I were working on a stage play, and our amount of activities with Da -iCE was smaller, so it ’s fun to be here with five people again. When the five of us came together after a long time, I thought “I like this the best” yet again. When going out on stage just by myself, I sometimes felt frustrated. In the meantime, when I was in Osaka, I was talking to Toru-kun and confessed to him saying, “I am more powerful when it’s the five of us” (laughs).

Yudai: Both of them kept talking about how they love Da-iCE so much.

Toru: Yes. “I can do anything if it’s the five of us!” (laughs). But because we were working with actors in a similar place as us, doing both music and acting, I think that strengthened us.

Sota: Those were really great relationships for us.

Hayate: Wasn’t one of those actors EXILE’s Matsu-san? (laughs)

Toru: Yes, that was the MATSU-san we co-starred with (laughs). “Stop Da -iCE, let’s do a group together”.

Sota: I wouldn’t say anything by “Nnn~” when he said that, but he’d still be like “Eh, ya?” (laughs)

Hayate: When you told me that, I couldn’t stop laughing (laughs)

Toru: MATSU-san then started saying, “I want to join Da -iCE” all the time, and I was happy just to hear those words.

Sota: He’s really kind

Yudai: Since the stage play began, I began to follow Sota and Toru-kun on SNS more closely. Because I could not see them in person so often (laughs).

Taiki: When the three of us went to see the stage play, Yudai immediately started imitating it. We also started recognizing the dialogue quickly because “If Yudai’s imitating it, it was from the stage play “(laughs)

Yudai: I wanted to imitate cool phrases. "You’re cutting when you want to slash.”

Taiki: That is really cool

Sota: I expected to smile when I saw the members from the stage, but when I checked where the members were beforehand, it was strange just to have Toru-kun on the stage with me (laughs).

Hayate: At that time, for some reason we were really nervous with excitement (laughs).

Taiki: As I thought, years after meeting each other for the first time, we have a sense of security in each other.

Sota: It’s the best with all five of us.

Toru: Hey, how many times are you going to say that? (Laughs)

Taiki: Usually I do not have much time to meet people, but I guess the five of us are already at a family level, so I have to keep meeting them.

Sota: Everyone loves [Tonikaku HEY]. At first we planned to release another song, but we agreed, “We’d like to do this song instead”, so we asked the staff to switch. After all, the music I love most of all is the kind we can do well live.

Toru: We’re all about lives, after all.

Taiki: Yeah, it’s definitely about lives.

Sota: After that, I like Junon.

Hayate: We’ve been indebted to you for the longest time.

Sota: You’re the first magazine we appeared in.

Yudai: I remembered the room being decorated

Sota: My parents have three copies of that issue at home

Hayate: I have a memory of wearing a gray hoodie with a blue check jacket.

Toru: Oh, those were our personal clothes, I remember.

Sota: I was in a denim shirt.

Taiki: I was wearing beige riders a sempai had given me.

Toru: Yudai was wearing boots and a leather jacket.

Sota: Toru-kun was in a black jacket

Toru: The one I’ve been wearing for seven to eight years.

Taiki: It’s black leather.

Tonikaku Surprise

Taiki: A surprising thing? That would be the two of them doing “Chiruran.” The pressure of acting. I was surprised at their aura.

Hayate: We were crying from beginning to end

Taiki: I felt an understanding with the story

Toru: Eh ~ I’m happy

Yudai: My heart was pounding the whole time

Hayate: Same as me, my heart was fluttering

Sota: Why? (laughs)

Taiki: Because “one motion”, “one motion” was amazing. [[He’s referencing a line from the play about sword fighting]]

Sota: I guess it was amazing for the members, too.

Yudai: Also, it was the first stage play I saw in my life.

Hayate: Me too.

Yudai: So everything was fresh.

Hayate: The transition between scenes was clear, so it was very interesting.

Taiki: It was amazing, wasn’t it?

Hayate: I also wanted to sword fight. I do not have to go out on stage, but I want to learn the sword (laughs).

Sota: The “Chiruran” sword fights are probably close to your image of it. You make mistakes over and over until you can reach the swift speed of movement we showed onstage.

Yudai: It’s a high level.

Hayate: “Binbin” came out!

Sota: Did you just try to quote a line? (laughs)

Toru: There’s the line “Binbin Kuru ne” (laughs). I appreciate it. I am surprised that you remembered that (laughs).

Yudai:  Atlantic mackerel is pretty cool at this time of year.

Sota: Then, let’s go fishing together, all five of us, next time.

Yudai: That would be really fun. For three or more people, the price of the ship is discounted, so I would like to go out!

Toru: I want to go to Hatsushima by ferry.

Yudai: That’s past Atami, isn’t it?

Sota: I’d like to do a BBQ after fishing.

Yudai: There are a few places we could do it. But I also want to fish at Hatsushima.

Taiki: I’d go if we went to Otaru in Hokkaido. When I was in Hokkaido, I ’d get up at 3 o'clock in the morning and go fishing sometimes, but since I came here, I have not gone.

Toru: Oh, then I’d like to go to Hokkaido for an interview with JUNON (laughs).

Sota: Now that you mention it, let’s go there with our fan club.

Hayate: I went fishing one time in the river. But I’m pretty sure I hated the insects on my fish hook!

Yudai: If you get used to it, would you like to come?

Hayate: No, I do not need to get used to it (laughs)

Toru: I definitely don’t want to use anything like centipedes.

Yudai: But, for Atlantic mackerel you don’t need insects. Just attach a small squid to the hook

Toru: That’s fine. It seems like you have a really strong desire to go fishing.

Yudai: It is delicious to eat.

Sota: As for me, I’ll eat it too!

Tonikaku Scared

Taiki: Personally I am afraid of a haunted houses. Rather than entering, I do not even want to think of it and have those memories in my brain. Even if I return home, I’ll still be thinking of it and bringing the scary memories to life.

Sota: I also hate haunted houses (laughs). As for fears related to Da -iCE, I’m afraid of the next tour. During our last anniversary, we were able to perform at the Budokan, and our next tour is a hall tour. My fear of the pressure is strong. Even if we do something unique, I’d like to do a good live that will allow me to exceed what we did at the Nippon Budokan.

Taiki: Even now there is always tension and pressure, right?

Sota: But it’s OK to be nervous, since I think I can’t give a good performance if I’m not a little nervous.

Taiki: Yes. I think that being nervous is definitely better. I often heard the quote “Is there any way to not get nervous? No, because being nervous is necessary”.

Sota: I think that I care a little too much about it though. Every time I get so nervous that I start trembling.

Taiki: In short, when we do new songs for the tour, it’s always nerve wracking to do it in a place we’re not used to (laughs).

Toru: When we go on a new stage for the first time, the anxious feelings while waiting in the wings is incredible

Sota: I think lives I go into without feeling too nervous usually wind up being the most terrifying ones in the end, though. So I try to keep that sense of nervousness (laughs).

Hayate: That’s right. I give myself a push on the back and embrace the fighting spirit

Sota: When I get nervous, my fighting spirit is even more impressive than ever! (laughs)

Tonikaku Impressed

Sota: Speaking of being impressed, on Tonikaku HEY’s coupling song “Sugar High”, I feel like the 3 performers worked together with us well to form a really solid chorus. That was something I wanted to do with them, and I was deeply moved by what came into shape. This song was written and composed by me, with Taiki-kun also helping with the lyrics, and Yudai-kun also did a lot of work on the chorus too and it was very exciting that everyone was involved in the song. Because the three performers’ part in the chorus is really good, I replayed the track many times and thought “Aaah, so good~” (laughs)

Taiki: I enjoyed recording.

Hayate: Because it was my first experience recording like that, I did not know what to do (laughs)

Taiki: Up to now I recorded solo parts, or background parts, but in the seven years since I’ve come here, I have never harmonized my voice into a five member part before. I can’t help but think it will be impressive.

Toru: It was a nice experience. As Yudai has also said before,  when we heard the “group” voice, it was moving. For Da -iCE’s voice in the future, I think it would be good if we could something like this again so when you listen you think "Oh, it’s Da-iCE’ s singing voice”

Sota: Definitely! I want to do it!

Taiki: I think that it be good for all of us to improve our vocal quality.

Sota: If we can do a lot of things on the next tour, wouldn’t it be fun to try singing a single medley with all five people?

Taiki: Oh, that’s interesting.

Sota: Since it is still under development, I hope that this type of song will also make it to a live performance and show that we can do better to earn the audience’s cheers and support.

Tonikaku High Tension

Yudai: Speaking of high tension, I want to go fishing!

Taiki: Again, you! (Laughs)

Toru: It can’t be helped. This is how he gets his high tension. He immediately gets excited (laughs)

Yudai: I get excited about the big things, of course (laughs)

Toru: But, there are surprisingly small things that get you excited too, right?

Yudai: That’s not it (laugh). But it’s always regrettable when I get over-excited at the drop of the hat, since the old man who lives next door will be like “You’re being bothersome~” and I’ll have to go “Yes ~” (laughs)

Toru: Don’t be like that (laugh)

Taiki: When I’m going to the gym, it lifts my spirits. Running while listening to LDH’s songs is good for keeping upbeat. When I listen to J Soul Brothers and Generations, my motivation goes up steadily and becomes just as hyper as Yudai (laughs).

Sota: Recently, during an after-show talk with MATSU-san, he sang “Choo Choo TRAIN” for me and Toru-kun, and our spirits literally soared.

Toru: Definitely.

Taiki: That would be an incredible thing.

Yudai: Super nice ~

Sota: Moreover, my father saw it, and since my father loved “Choo Choo Train” since long ago, I got to be a good son for introducing him to MATSU-san.

Toru: MATSU-san also talked a bit about his life in the group. Before we formed as Da-iCE, he was a superstar to us and I went to his lives, so it was an unbelievable feeling to work with him professionally.

Hayate: I was able to see the performance of Chiruran, and I can’t think of anything more motivating or exciting than that

Toru: I’m glad you think so, Hayate, thank you.

Tonikaku MV

Taiki: This time I had a strong sense of getting down to work. The staff is usually looking for something comprehensive to show what we’ve been doing up to now, and they come up with MVs which showcase us five, but this time we wanted to showcase a world view instead. There is our dance and performance as usual, but I think that it’s more interesting this time. There are feelings we’ve never shown before.

Sota: As a single, its personality comes out right from the beginning.

Yudai: In terms of using props and tools, everyone painted mischievously on the wall, and everyone’s face and clothes got messed up. It was interesting because we couldn’t just do the paint over again. It would be odd if in one shot, someone’s shoes had changed paint styles from the shot before, etc. We put a lot of effort into it, and I think the filming passed by faster than usual.

Hayate: It’s the first time we had to wash our bodies in the middle of MV shooting to clean up the paint. Thanks to that, it was a unique feeling that doesn’t usually come with working (laughs)

Taiki: I understand. I felt that too (laughs)

Yudai: When I got into the shower and returned to the dressing room, I felt like I was going home from the hot spring (laughs)

Sota: My body was getting cold. It felt nice to finish it off with a hot shower (laughs)

Hayate: It was really comforting, that feeling (laughs)

Taiki: It was a difficult to pair dancing with other issues for me this time. But, we worked towards what we wanted to do, and we all made a great emotional delivery for this song.

Toru: Up to now, dancing was our primary focus, but this time I think a lot of other things went into it, so it was very fresh and interesting.

Tonikaku HEY

Sota: To tell the truth, it’s a song where just the thought of hearing everyone chanting “Tonikaku HEY!” live is exciting. Working together with Yudai-kun on this song on its own raises my tension, and also I get to change my singing style musically in this song. I am doing a lot of challenging things, so I think that it’s enjoyable if you listen to on a technical level, too. Of course, I think that it is such a song that even just listening to the BGM will make you feel good.

Taiki: I think there is a lot of room for freedom in the dance, and it’s not as choreographed like other songs have been, and there is a margin for freestyling and ad-libs to bring out the atmosphere, so it’s a rather rare style for one of our singles. The choreo of “Tonikaku HEY” is easy to manage, so there is a good balance which makes us able to be creative in other places.

Sota: Before this, we released an album called “NEXT PHASE”, and this song is the sequel to that, since we wanted to have songs which expressed something like “This is our NEXT PHASE”. This is the song we arrived on to best fit that. It is a song that can also make you feel like you can return to your original intentions and goals despite being a new person who has experienced changes. Since I have been doing my best to compose songs with themes that tie into our indies era, I want to tell fans from our indies days “I hope the songs I write remind you of that Da-iCE too” I wonder if the fans from after the major debut can also appreciate this new side. I hope it’s a song that can take our fans along to the next stage along with us.

Yudai: The title “Tonikaku HEY!” is also great.

Hayate: The title is like a chant at a rally.

Taiki: Usually our songs have English titles which may be hard for people to remember, but I think this one is easy to remember.

Toru: Everyone liked this.

Taiki: I do not want to change this title for anything. The staff presented various things such as “It’s possible to change (kaeru no mo ari ka na)” though. We insisted “Tonikaku HEY!” is “Tonikaku HEY!” Even though they said “People may laugh at you for a title like that in the beginning,” if you listen to the song and see the choreography and come and visit us live,  would you really be able to laugh? I think if you’re able to see it like that, you can’t help but understand it.

Yudai: If you listen to the title and consider the thought of going to rallies, you get used to it and it makes sense. We usually listen to the staff, but not this time. I absolutely did not want to change “Tonikaku HEY!” Staff kept asking what we were doing, if it’s okay to try and sound “cool" or “slang-y.” But if you listen to the song, wouldn’t you say it’s worth the risk?

Sota: Come to Tonikaku Live and scream with "Tonikaku HEY” with us. It will be absolutely fun!
