Zebra Haworthia (Haworthiopsis Attenuata, formerly Haworthia Attenuata), is a succulent plant from the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. As an ornamental, it is one of the most commonly cultivated of the Haworthiopsis species. I’ve had this growing for years. When it gets a bit leggy I break it up and repot it. Doesn’t like getting too wet but apart from that it is as tough as nails. Looks really good in a shallow pot #ZebraHaworthia #HaworthiopsisAttenuata #HaworthiaAttenuata #waterwise #succulent #SouthAfrica #waterwise #ornamental #abcmygarden (at Belmont, New South Wales, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co3_8j4vn5Z/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I had to do a lot of angling to get my entire zebra plant(Haworthiopsis attenuata) in one shot because the inflorescence is so long. The flowers bloomed over a period of 3 months and lasted 1-2 weeks each. His name is J. Alfred Prufrock, and he's in a plain blue pot.

When harmonic relationships of texture, color, and overall form are achieved, we appreciate the potted plant as a painted sculpture with 3 acts. Each level builds on feelings elicited above or below it.

Potted Plants Update #1: The Front Porch Part 2
Hello everyone! I hope this post finds you well. Last week was definitely a hot one starting out at 97° F for a couple of days then just 91-93 for the remainder of the week. A few degrees doesn’t make much difference but it is very hard to want to go outside until after 6 PM. The heat and humidity seem so draining and not very motivational. A few times I walked to the shed and then went back to…

That black and white succulent (is a succulent? Im assuming so) terrifies me but also reminds me of Unus Annus -☀️
this guy? that’s a haworthia fasciata! or so i thought up until now. apparently most haworthia fasciatas are actually haworthiopsis attenuata that are mislabeled. apparently actual h. fasciatas are a rare cultivation, so tbh i’m just fine having the more common one. anyway, they’re also known as zebra haworthia (see: the stripes). it’s actually really not that pointy and probably one of my favorite of my plants. (dude’s been with me for a loooooooong time)

My Haworthiopsis attenuata when it is thirsty vs. when it’s plump and freshly watered! It can be a very subtle change but I’ve learned to spot them over the year I’d had this plant.
When thirsty the plant will close up, at the top of the plant it’s far more noticeable when it does this. The leaves will get a sunken look and be kind of cupped on the inside. Once thoroughly watered everything plumps back up and the leaves push each other apart causing it to open up more.
