Lovestruck 5 Screenshot Challenge!
Part 2: Electric Boo-ga-loo
Jordan Davies was the second nonbinary route in Lovestruck and I love them. Their route is a WILD, hellish ride, with all sorts of interesting lore, fun hijinks, and fire imagery. And we finally found out what the heck was up with Luce.
Tumblr media
Over the course of the route, I, like, became obsessed with JD’s punk rock look. Love their hair, piercings, leather jacket, boots, and motorcycle. I took screenshots as reference and tried to doodle other characters in the same outfit.
Tumblr media
THEY TOUCHED AND I SCREAMED.
Tumblr media
SCREAMING AGAIN. JD’s romance is much faster paced than others in Havenfall. It was a refreshing opposite of the friends-to-lovers trope. In friends-to-lovers, deep emotional intimacy yearns and spills over into physical intimacy. For JD and MC, physical intimacy was how they first connected, and then they slowly built an emotional foundation.
Tumblr media
As much high octane fun JD’s route is, it also gets quite dark. Bad things happen. MC and JD bond over both being misfits and having troubled childhoods, and the lingering consequences of those traumas are fully played out.
Tumblr media
The writing is, of course, spectacular, btw.
If you haven’t given JD a read, I definitely recommend! It pairs well with other devilish shows like Lucifer and queer-positive, devil punk books like RoAnna Sylver’s Stake Sauce series.
On to Jett!

Is this a new theme I have now? IDK but I'm sticking with this for #PrideMonth at least! Next up I have some books with bisexual rep I'd like to share. Once again as I found myself thinking about what books have bi rep in them, I couldn't think of many off the top of my head, and I hadn't read a ton. 💗💜💙 Q: Recommend me a book with bisexual rep. I just read Technically, You Started It (bi/demi rep) and finished listening to The Brightsiders (bi, genderqueer, and nonbinary rep) last night and both are -chefs kiss- Loved them. Technically, You Started It is told completely in text messages! I found that so unique! That made it a very quick and fun read - Martin Nathaniel Munroe II texts Haley, but she isn't sure which one. Because there are two guys in her class with that name. They start a friendship over text messages and it grows from there. Martin tells Haley he is bi and by the end, Haley realizes she is demisexual and I wish it was explored more. The Brightsiders was a wild ride, it's about a band, all of whom are queer, with drummer Emmy coming out as bisexual on stage during one of their concerts. There is a lot of emotional and alcohol abuse in this story that hurt my soul, but overall I loved this story. I love concerts in real life, so any book that has a band/concerts in it is an immediate add to TBR for me. I can't believe it took me so long to listen to this, but I'm glad I did - theres even song lyrics through the book. I've had The Fever King on my Kindle & Audible since forever and have yet to read that, so I hope to read it soon! And I also still have to read Havenfall. Another book with bisexual rep that I recommend is Odd One Out by Nic Stone. I couldn't find my copy of that but it was a good one. I will always and forever recommend Nic Stone, shes one of my favorites. #BookishlyDreaming - Bisexual Rep #FearYourNovel - Books with pride #cozyascanbee - Book I'd recommend #LMSPride2020 - Queerly beloved #PrideLibrary20 - Tribute to queer character #TechnicallyYouStartedIt #TheBrightsiders #TheFeverKing #Havenfall #bisexual🌈 #bisexualpride https://www.instagram.com/p/CBlMELsgqqO/?igshid=1sblhrpakizws

Havenfall
Havenfall – Sarah Holland
Wow. What a wild ride this was! This was an emotional roller coaster from start to finish, there were moments where I debated DNFing, the narration was weirdly paced in some places, which you’ll know if you follow me on Twitter.
Tumblr media
It literally went from ooooh to meh to OH GOOD GOD. I’m so glad I stuck with it because when the action got started and the conspiracy starts…
