Oh yeah just in case people were curious, this week I've:

Tidied up the folder where I keep everything.

Data collection.

Outlined 4/7 currently planned love interests.

Actually wrote out a big document with all the necessary art assets (incomplete as of yet)

Finished making animal care and most other prototype systems

I've almost finished outdoor tileset A (currently working on A5, completely finished A1 - A4) for each season. Currently, I'm mostly going to be using the default MV tiles, but I have been editing them considerably in order for them to work with the changing seasons in game.

Oof, I've had a lot of family stuff (nothing bad, it's fun stuff) as well as drawing up some concepts for an original work so. Busy week.

Finished psuedocode for plants system

Looked into the ways to make smaller details in the game work (i.e. using tools, title screen changing based on season, new system for animals)

Sketches of 9/36 characters (including hidden character!)

Fixed some tilesets ;-; (I know I have more tilesets to go but I never want to go near any tilesets ever again)

Added sheep to game plan. (Sheep! Fluffy cloud babies!) And worked on plant list (which plants will be in game)

Hetagame project

Hi, hello, so I decided to make a post explaining what the hetagame I'm working on is, for people who missed it back when I was working on it last year.

It's a harvest moon type game. So farming. It was originally conceptualized as a hack for FoMT but I know nothing about ROM hacking and my research suggested that harvest moon ROM hacks weren't exactly going to be easy. So I scrapped that idea and started making it in RPG maker MV. There's a few awkward systems to work around because RM is designed for epic adventuring! And this is a farming game.

Part of the inspiration was also Stardew Valley, a game I've never played and probably never will, because people who got the gears turning in my head on how to make this haven't played harvest moon, but have played Stardew.

I have some intended love interests decided, and plan to add more in the future. However initially there's only going to be four in the game (3 main, 1 secret)

Not much this week, burnt myself out last week.

Tested tilesets. They'll need modifying, unfortunately. Some tiles were put in the wrong place and don't work correctly. They look surprisingly good though

Wrote out some of the subplots you'll see with different characters

So, about the lack of art posted here for harvestalia.

I don't have any finished maps of any parts of the game. I have sketches, but they're too messy to really share.

The character sketches I've done are almost all on a single page, which is great because I used half a notebook figuring out which characters would be in the game in the first place, tallying data and such. But it's also bad because hidden characters are there.

And, since I don't have all the characters designed yet, I don't actually have any character sprites. So I really don't have much to share but there's a very large, very messy, pile of paper on my desk.
