Thoughts on our t20 wc squad :
Thank God Sanju, Jaiswal and Yuzi are in main 15.
It's mostly a very safe team... But here's a few concerns :
Bowlers. Siraj and arshdeep kitne form mein hai... We all know. And they dropped mukesh. We don't have any off spinner too.
Rishab Pant will be first priority as wk... And his t20I record is not good man.
He has played 66 t20i matches and his strike rate is 126 💀
I really hope after his recovery he has turned a new leaf and his performance will be better but... Yk.
Then Jadeja. 126 strike rate in 66 matches. And he's our finisher. 😭
Then Hardik Pandya. His performance in Ipl after he recovered from injury has been appalling. All I can do is pray he magicallly gets better and performs.
Other teams will have players like klassen, salt, Travis, etc.
We have Hardik and Jadeja.
And the guy who has a strike rate of 176 in t20I.....we have kept him reserved.
He will run around and hand over water bottles to others. 🙄
As for gill being in the reserve.... It makes perfect sense.
Jaiswal has a strike rate of 161 and gill has 148. Obviously Jaiswal is the better option.
And as for picking ruturaj or ishan ishan instead of gill for backup opener....
Well ishan has played 32 matches and has a strike rate of 124.
And Ruturaj has a strike rate of 140 in 19 matches.
So gill is a better choice as a backup opener.
It just pisses me off coz the selectors don't have complete faith on anyone and it really shows.
They don't fully trust the senior players...and they are not brave enough to completely let youngsters take the reigns.
Anyways.... Jo bhi hai yahi hai.
Really hope that we win this time because rohit, virat, Jadeja, Hardik, Rishab.... They all have a lot at stake and this might be the last wc they are playing in t20 format atleast.
🙏

[ad_1] Gautam Gambhir with Rohit Sharma (PC: X) Subhayan Chakrabarty in Pune India’s journey to qualify for the World Test Championship is currently precarious, with the future participation of veteran players like Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin in doubt due to potential retirements. Their departure could usher in a challenging era of transition for the Indian cricket team. But who are the potential replacements of some of the senior-most players of the Indian team – Rohit, Virat Kohli, Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami – when the time comes for them to bid adieu to the longest format? The likelihood of Rohit Sharma continuing through another WTC cycle seems slim, given his age. Similarly, Ashwin, who would be 41, is also likely to step back. Kohli is 35, Jadeja is 35 and Shami is 34 and the Indian team management should start grooming their replacements in the future in a bid to ensure a smoother transition. Batting options like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and B Sai Sudharsan provide some optimism on the batting front. The depth in bowling isn’t exactly thin but could be labelled as ‘raw’. Avesh Khan, Yash Dayal, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Vidwath Kaverappa, Khaleel Ahmed are some names who are being looked as potential options for the Indian pace attack in the future with Harshit and Prasidh even being part of India’s squad for the tour of Australia. The likes of Yudhvir Singh Charak, Gurjapneet Singh, Vaibhav Arora, Anshul Kamboj are few other options but they need to perform consistently at the domestic level. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Rohit Sharma (PC: X) India may have found a replacement for Hardik Pandya in Test cricket in Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is also part of India’s squad for Australia series, but he is still an unproven product in international circuits. While he has a terrific record in age-group cricket and looks like a special talent, he has just played 21 FC matches and will have to maintain his fitness levels when he becomes a regular in the Indian team. In batting, Yashasvi Jaiswal has claimed an opener’s spot, and with Rohit Sharma’s retirement anticipated soon after the WTC Final, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Sai Sudarsan are in contention. Yet, each brings different challenges; Easwaran’s reputation for underperforming in high-pressure scenarios versus his impressive domestic record, Gaikwad’s flair in limited-overs cricket contrasted with his modest first-class stats, and Sudharsan’s potential to adapt across formats. Out of all, Sudarshan passes the eye test in red-ball cricket best but will have to prove himself in India colours when he gets the chance. For Kohli’s coveted number four position, Devdutt Padikkal offers a stylish option. Sarfaraz Khan has shown promise but his adaptability across various conditions awaits validation. Rinku Singh, known more for his T20 finishing, has the stats, average of 54 in FC, but selectors need to show faith in him for red-ball cricket. In spin, Axar Patel fits well on turning tracks but, unlike Jadeja, might struggle elsewhere. Youngsters like Musheer Khan and Manav Suthar are potential future stars, though their development is ongoing. Washington Sundar stands out as a viable all-rounder option post the Ashwin-Jadeja era, with Tanush Kotian and Saransh Jain possibly following in Ashwin’s footsteps, though they would have to play more shadow tours to ensure a smoother transition. While the Gautam Gambhir-led team management and Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee have plenty of options to replace the ageing icons of the game, they would have ensure that the younger names get to start their international careers on home soil rather than throwing them under the cosh in alien overseas conditions. This will be for the for the first time that senior Indian cricket team will play a T20I match, weeks after lifting T20 World Cup at Barbados. Also, it has to be noted that Gautam Gambhir will start as the Indian head coach with the series. Though people were expecting that Hardik Pandya would be the new T20 captain replacing Rohit Sharma, chief selector, Ajit Agargar and head coach Gambhir had other plans in their minds.
India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T2OI
Most self-developed LMS’s like in the case above head to head with off the shelf ones as follows.
According to records, both India and Sri Lanka have played 29 matches T20 International series in which India has secured victory in as many as 19 matches, Sri Lanka has won 9 matches out of these and 1 match was no result.
India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T2OI: The forecaster
Accuweather forecast for Dambulla revealed that there are a 88 percent chance for showers and there would be cloudiness of 99 percent. Besides, the chances of thunderstorms are also present by about 53 percent. This implies that relative humidity will be between 81% and 90% and the temperature will range from 29 C to 32 C.
India vs Sri Lanka, 1st T2OI: Our software’s pitch report
Analyzing the past performance, one can say that playing stylistically, the pitch of the Pallekele stadium could be beneficial for the batters, especially if more points are scored after dark. The teams bowling first may have an advantage for the reasons that dew in the evening causes teams to prefer chasing more as bowling becomes difficult.
