We spent some time in the yard as a family this morning, making and jumping in leaf piles. B hung my new bird feeder (because the bears have destroyed my other 3 🥴 but I refuse to be feederless). The mums are out and the kids’ Halloween costumes have arrived. I love these sweet, slow weekend mornings.

This afternoon we’re planning to go to a local farm for all the fun fall festivities with @dohbriste and her crew! I’m pumped.

My SIL is in town for an impromptu visit — it’s been nice having her here and catching up a bit.

Despite the kids passing around cold after cold and me now being on antibiotics for a UTI, things are all good here. (We’re so blessed as women, aren’t we?) I also hit a new low on the scale today, so I rescind my previous harsh words. She’s a fickle thing, that scale, but I’m slowly starting to rely less on it and just focus on how I feel. And I feel damn good.

3rd October - What is a good memory that you have from autumn?

I always got to decorate the outside of the house for Halloween with my mom. It made me really happy and I’m sad that now I’m in college and don’t get to decorate as much anymore. It’s more of a bittersweet memory but it makes me really happy since I got to have full artistic control of the outside of our house.

My Melody x Kuromi Festive Halloween Pouch

Our first item is perfect for getting you into that festive mood, featuring a cute Halloween party design that features My Melody on one side, and Kuromi on the other:

Meanwhile, I think this would be a nice pouch for a variety of uses. It’s a decent size, and it even has a pocket, so I think it’d be perfect for things like makeup items, stationery, toiletries, or just various little items you want to keep nearby or organized.

The fabric also feels really nice and of good quality, the zipper works smoothly. I’m thinking I might use this to help organize some of the contents in my drawer. Even though I removed a lot of stuff from it, I feel like with so much space its harder to find things :P

Sumikko Gurashi Squishy

Legit Japanese squishy make me SO happy ♥ especially if its as cute as this one! For this month we had a chance to get 1 of 2 food-based Sumikko Gurashi Squishy, both of which featured Shirokuma on a pudding, or dressed as a yummy onigiri/rice ball. Who is my favorite besides Neko (in case you’re new to the blog and haven’t heard me say that yet) from the series.

As you can see, this squishy comes with a gold ball chain so that you have the option to make it a keychain if you would like to bring it with you. I probably won’t do that because I usually don’t bring my Squishy anywhere, I like to keep them in safe locations, nice and clean.

It’s very soft, in terms of squish speed it took about 15 seconds to puff up back to normal. It has a strong generic squishy scent (not like rubber or plastic, but its different from that “powdered soybean” scent) but I assume if kept out of packaging it would probably fade. I like the scent I don’t really have any complaints. It’s very crisp looking, the seam is just barely messy in a few really tiny spots, and I did notice mine has like... a small fault on its face. You might be able to see it in the pic next to the left eye. I tried pulling it off but I don’t want to risk removing the paint (and not scrap material like I thought initially), so for now it’s staying.  

If you like Squishy I would recommend this little guy if you can find him, I’d recommend checking their online store, Japan Haul.

My Melody x Kuromi Folding Comb & Compact Mirror

Our next two items are the perfect buddies for the pouch we got earlier :3 they’re also very handy for on the go emergency mirror touch-ups you may experience while out of the house. I’ve gotten a couple of these before but it’s been a long time, so it will be fun to swap out my old ones.

As you can see, both the mirror and comb were made to match each other, as well as the pouch. I really like that detail and find it to be aesthetically pleasing ♥  Plus I love the glittery coating.

Okay, so honestly I never use combs. I have long and thick hair and they do not work for that- they either break or just hurt. BUT these are perfect for my bangs, which often get messy or like to curl in weird ways whenever I least suspect it. So it comes in handy while I’m out. The mirror also can lean with its lid to be hands free, and while small, it’s easy to see all the facial details.

Sumikko Gurashi Halloween Lamp

This our last item, a really cute new Sumikko Gurashi Halloween-themed lamp :D there are 3 variations, each pink, but featuring a different image and a character on top.

If you read my previous blog review then you might recognize the image they used from the drink cup we got. Basically, I think this is a “default SG pic“ they use and just modify to fit the scenario. Nothing wrong with that, but I only really took notice of it while observing this.

Here is the character I got:

Not my favorite, but I seem to get him almost as much as Neko and Shirokuma; it’s very rare for me to get Penguin?, and I never get Tonkatsu.

Cool huh?! It also changes colors!

The lamp requires x3 AA batteries to work, luckily I had some from my Kirby Lamp I got a few months back so I just swapped them out. As much as I love my Kirby lamp I really like this one too, it’s soothing to watch the image feature, and the light is a nice, vibrant white in comparison to its warm yellow.

Content - 4.5 out of 5. Everything is strongly useful, in that I mean I will use them quite frequently. Everything was also cute with just that tiny hint of spookiness; which was my only issue. I wish the spookiness factor was a more prominent because I love cute-scary things, and this felt more... child friendly Halloween if you know what I mean. 

Theme: 5 out of 5. Everything goes together perfectly, and it has a heavy Halloween vibe! They did a great job!

Total Rank: 10 out of 10. I really liked everything that we got :3 I’d recommend every item!

1. Squishy - I love squishy and I wish we got them WAY more often. I shall cherish this as much as I do the sleepy bear I bought from Japan Haul~

2. Lamp - I love it! I especially like how Neko is dressed as a black cat and Shirokuma looks like a vampire x3 two of my favorite things. The light feature is really fun too!

3. Halloween Pouch - This will be a great addition to the drawer I’m having trouble keeping straight. I love how soft and smooth it feels~

4. Mirror - This will come in handy, I’ll be swapping my old one out right after I post this :3

5. Comb - As I can only really use it for my bangs it’ll probably get the least use out of everything.

Why Vane is the Bestest Boy Ever

Welcome to my TEDtalk this is some real stuff ya’ll NEED to hear because Vane is the absolute best ( to me at least). Sorry this is jumbled af I don’t even know what I wrote. 

Listen I know I talk a lot about Vane and you’re probably sick and tired of it and I understand. BUT LIKE HEAR ME OUT FOR A MINUTE!

So I never really did the subquests early on in my playthrough of GBF mostly because I’m a dumbass and didn’t really realize they were there. ANYWAYS, so my first exposure of Vane came from his SR version (sadly, I don’t have his SSR version,,,,hhhhh please come home). I wasn’t too keen on him at first because he was an SR and in the beginning I was obsessed with getting SSR’s (instead of appreciating quality characters). 

The reason I first got into GBF was because of Lancelot, I thought he was super attractive and w o w cool this looks awesome! So I was hoping to get Lancelot more than anyone else. 

I digress, so I went through Vane’s fate episode really quick, and I just didn’t appreciate his character all too much. Seeing his art, I thought yeah he looked cool but he kinda looks like a smug jerk and I just did not care (especially since I was starting to like Will). I basically forgot I summoned him until I played Defender’s Oath. 

It brought him into a new light for me, because honestly, I did that side quest because of Lancelot. When we see Vane in DO, we see him as somewhat clueless, but overall, a nice guy who just wants to help his friends. I had very low expectations for him, and to just have him in my face acting like the most adorable thing ever was just hhhhhhhhhhh amazing. 

But it also made me get bored with Lancelot, because to me, it felt like all the other Dragon Knights had gotten character development except him. We constantly see Vane grow from being someone who was initially nervous about being Vice-Captain, to being more confident in his role and ensuring the public is happy. And that’s what I think separates Lancelot and Vane the most. While Lancelot does care for the people, he cares more for the well being of the country. Vane however, is just a ball of sunshine who wants to repay his kindness to those who need help (as seen with Bistro Feendrache). 

I’m not saying Lancelot is a bad person by any means, not at all, he is probably what is considered a more ‘ideal knight’ because of his undying loyalty to Feendrache, but Vane is someone who just doesn’t care for titles, he just wants to be by his friends’ side. 

I think his most stellar moment was in Divergent Knighthoods. THIS was what cemented my love for him as my fave character, not only in GBF, but in my entire life. We see him at his most fatherly and courageous form in this quest, and it just is the sweetest thing ever. He jumbles up a bit as Vice-Captain, he’s excitable and kinda immature compared to Lancelot, but that’s what makes him so strong. 

Divergent Knighthoods showed the BEST possible form of Vane by showing us his interactions with Team Chickadee. Sure, Arthur and Mordred were the focal point of it, but we see Vane’s development, as well how he helps the other two. Arthur and Mordred probably would not have gotten as good as they did if it weren’t for Vane. Vane taught them that being a knight doesn’t mean giving up on friendship and kindness, or forgetting what it means to be human. 

Vane is just that. Human. Lancelot and Percival constantly push themselves to be something greater than human, and Seigfried is considered to be god-tier to them. They all idealize Siegfried, but Lancelot and Percival want to be JUST like him that they focus solely on his actions, not why he does what he does. Vane, while he also looks to Siegfried as a role model, doesn’t feel the need to exemplify him. He feels fine the way he is, but he looks up to Siegfried as what greatness can achieve. He wants to be as skilled as Siegfried, but in his own way. 

Vane uses his emotions as a powerful weapon, while Lancelot and Percival try to repress them. They feel that emotions get in the way of decision-making, and that it’ll make them weaker. Vane just doesn’t give a crap and continues dancing to his own beat. He stepped up as a father-figure and mentor to Team Chickadee, and made them stronger by teaching them the importance of emotions. He even commented on something like that when he was interacting with Cruz. The poor boy just wasn’t emotional, and it worried Vane about what his life was like at home. He was so proud of Cruz when he even SMILED, and he treated it like a trophy. 

He’s a very supportive guy as seen when he constantly praised the team for slight accomplishments, even if they seemed stupid in the eyes of others. Lancelot has high expectations for them, and even though they wish to be knights when they’re older, he forgets they’re just kids. Vane knows that they’re just little kids, and he is one at heart, so he has no problem interacting with them and encouraging them to do better. He doesn’t need to act intimidating, because it’s just not in his nature. He doesn’t have to pretend to be someone he’s not, and uses his supposed ‘flaws’ as a tool to get better. 

I also wanna talk about what I think is a slight inferiority complex. Yeah, Vane loves himself, but he loves his friends a lot more. Especially Lancelot. Lancelot grew up with him and is basically his brother from another mother, and Vane trusts him completely. But we see throughout his fate episodes and special cutscenes that he knows Lancelot is more well-loved and respected than he will ever be. 

Valentines Day (year 2): “Aw, man. It's that time of year again... Sucks being that guy that doesn't get anything. Yeah... Oh well! I'll just pretend this chocolate I made came from a girl!”

Valentines Day (year 3): “Man, I knew he was popular... Speaking as a childhood friend, good for him. Bet he's a pretty happy camper. Sigh... I wonder if I'll ever...”

Happy Birthday (year 2): “Hehe, thanks for taking the time to deal with a bum like me! How old are you now? Are you really gonna waste your birthday hangin' around here? You want to be here? Aw man, quit jokin' around! It's not nice to tease people, you know.”

Happy Birthday (year 4): “ I shouldn't stay too long, I don't want to wear you out even more.”

Happy Holidays (year 2):  “ Huh? Oh, hey, (Captain). Are you free right now? Good thing I bumped into you! All right, you get the pleasure of spending the day with me! Not! Yeah, like you'd want to hang out with me, hahaha!” 

Fate Episode [sr version]: “ Y-you really think so? I'm really just trying to be more like Lancey. “

[after you compliment him for being more like Lancelot than he knows]:  “Heheh, thank you! Hearing you say that gives me a real boost, (Captain)!”

I don’t think he’s actually AWARE of his insecurities when it comes to these sort of things, like he can recognize it in other people, but just can’t see himself being jealous of Lancelot, his best friend. He is not really given much credit for his work, and most dismiss him as a loud idiot who’s just Vice-Captain. Percival’s insults towards Vane doesn’t get him down, but the fact that Lancelot gets more praise for being Captain probably irks him to some degree. 

Honestly, Vane has so much to offer. He is such a romantic, and reading the part in his sr skills episode WHERE HE LITERALLY REMEMBERED A SUBORDINATES ANNIVERSARY AND TOLD HIM TO LEAVE TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS WIFE! Like, catch any of the other guys even remembering what day it is.

LOOK AT HIM! LOOK AT THIS!! He is just all about positivity and having fun, this guy is such a cutie. He just cares about the little people so much. NOT TO MENTION HIS LOVE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE. He went on a tangent in the special cutscenes about how he wanted to help the old grandmas who helped in his childhood, and the children who appeared in Halloween. This guy cares a lot for the people and he just continues giving love and care for them all despite being considered a lesser version of his best friend from others.  

Vane is by no means a lesser version of Lancelot. He’s a great companion that contrasts well with Lancelot, by reminding him to take care of himself. He bakes, he cooks, he cleans, he does plenty of stuff for the crew and is such hubby material that I BELIEVE EVERY PERSON NEEDS SOMEONE LIKE VANE IN THEIR LIFE. Vane is the gift that keeps on giving, who’ll never stop giving. He cares too much to even bother to think about his own health, and is just the absolute best. 

Maybe I’ll fix this later on idk but like if I continue I’ll ramble for hours about why he’s so precious and ya’ll don’t wanna see that from me.

Gene’s Birthday

I wake up on October 19 with only one thought on my mind: Gene’s birthday is today. I look over at my boyfriend, sleeping peacefully on the other side of the room. Getting up, I quietly walk over to his bed and plant a small kiss on his forehead. Gene’s face forms a small smile, but he doesn’t wake up just yet. I step back a bit and just admire his peaceful, sleeping form. I can’t wait for him to wake up, because then the fun can begin. I’m planning a surprise party for him, and Brinker and Leper are gonna help out. I tiptoe over to my closet and open it to make sure I have all of the decorations, which are hidden under a pile of clothes. I hear Gene start to wake up, so I quickly put the clothes back, obscuring the decorations from view. Then, I quickly grab a random shirt and pants to make it look like I was getting ready. He gets up, walks over to me, and wraps his arms around me.

“Good morning beautiful,” I say to him. “Happy birthday.”

“Thanks cutie,” he responds tiredly, burrowing his face into my neck. I laugh, then turn around and pull him into a hug. He rests his head on my shoulder, and we just stand there, hugging. Gene then decided that he needed a shower, so I released him from the hug, but only after a quick kiss. He just giggles, then goes to get washed up. I use that time to double check that I have everything else: every Dark Tower book (because he won’t admit it, but he loves fantasy/sci-fi books), ready and wrapped, the cake, and the candles. The books and candles are under my bed, while the cake is in the ice box, which I haven’t allowed Gene into since I got the cake yesterday when I snuck into town. Satisfied, I actually get ready for the day, wearing my statement-making pink shirt (because it’s Gene’s favorite) and a pair of trousers. I’m fully dressed by the time Gene comes back, also fully dressed. I take his hand, and we make our way to the dining hall.

(Time Skip)

Once we’re in the dining hall, I spot Brinker and Leper, and we join them after getting our breakfast. Leper and Brinker wished Gene a happy birthday, and the four of us just talked. At one point, Gene ran out of orange juice and left to go get more. That’s when I finalized my plans with Brinker and Leper.

“So, you guys know the plan?” I ask them once Gene is out of earshot.

“We got it Finny,” Brinker responds. “Leper and I decorate, get the cake ready, and wrap our gifts while you keep Gene occupied and out of the dorm. Then, once we’re done, you bring Gene to the dorm after you let him know that we’re ready.”

“Precisely!” I quickly slip Brinker a room key as I see Gene coming back. “It HAS to be a surprise! Remember: don’t tell him!”

“Don’t tell me what?” Gene asks as he sits back down. Brinker, Leper, and I do our best not to panic.

“Uh, how great your gifts are, duh!” I say, trying to cover for our little slip that could’ve ruined everything. Gene searches me for a second, but doesn’t end up questioning it. I inwardly let out a sigh of relief. After we’re finished, Gene asks if we can go to the library, and even though it’s not my favorite place, I say yes, and he happily drags me along to one of his favorite places. It warms my insides to see him so happy. Once we get to the library, Gene giddily goes around to all of the bookshelves, looking at different books and reading excerpts from each of them. I look at a couple too, and I see Gene look at me with pride. I blush, put the book back, and go after my boyfriend.

(Time Skip)

After spending 3 hours in the library and then being forced to go to church, I suggest lunch and then a walk along the Devon River. Gene goes along with me, and we stroll to the dining hall hand in hand. A couple people stare, but we ignore them. We get some food, and then find a nice spot for two. He tries to get me to spill the beans about what Brinker, Leper, and I were talking about this morning, but I refuse to break, and change the topic to how great of a day it is today. We both finish up then, hand in hand, with fingers interlocked, we make our way towards the Devon.

(Leper’s POV)

I swear, all of this decorating is taking forever. I’m just glad Brinker and I were able to find the decorations. Even though Finny told us where they were, we still had to dig through all of Finny’s clothes. Anyways, Brinker and I have been decorating for about an hour, and I think we’ve done well. Streamers line the window, about eight balloons are scattered throughout the room, and there’s a “Happy Birthday” sign on the back of the door. Of course, there’s still decals to put on the walls, and a cake to set up. Finny said it was chocolate. I approve of his life choices.

“Leper, come look at this!” Brinker says, gesturing wildly from Finny’s ice box.

“What is it?” I ask while making my way over to where he is.

“Look at this cake! It’s the most delicious thing I’ve ever seen!” He has the lid of the ice box open, and is looking at what’s inside with wide eyes, looking like a kid on Halloween. I take a look at the cake, and instantly agree with Brinker. It’s covered in chocolate icing and has chocolate shavings along the sides. “Happy Birthday Gene” is scrawled across the top with pink icing. It takes all of my self control to not reach into the ice box and just eat the entire cake. And maybe share. But probably not.

“We should probably close this before we end up eating this ourselves,” Brinker decides, voicing my inner thoughts. He slowly closes the ice box, and we get back to work. At one point, I look out the window to see Finny and Gene strolling alongside the Devon River.

“We should take a picture of them,” I say, grabbing Finny’s Polaroid camera. Brinker nods excitedly as I snap the photo. The picture slides out of the slot at the bottom of the camera, and I make sure not to touch the actual image, as to not ruin it. It develops into a cute black-and-white image of Gene and Finny, hand in hand. I go the door and tape it on the front, so that they can both see it when they come in.

“Leper! Where should I put these decals?” Brinker yells at me. Well, back to work! Hope we don’t get hungry.

(Finny’s POV)

This is perfect. A nice, peaceful river walk with a perfect human being. We’ve crossed the tree line by now, but I could’ve sworn that I saw Leper in our window earlier. He better not have touched my Polaroid. I hear Gene snicker beside me.

“What’s so funny?” I ask, turning to him. He just keeps grinning and trying to hold back laughter.

“This,” he says, pushing me into the river. I hit the water and pop up a second later, glaring at my boyfriend, who’s doubled over with laughter. As payback, I splash him with river water. He lets out a very manly squeak as he gets hit with cold river water, making me laugh.

“Jerk,” he says.

“Love you too. Now help me up,” I respond, holding my arm up. He takes my arm, and being the great boyfriend I am, I pull him into the water with me. He hits the water, and I bust out laughing. He pops up and gives me a look that, if looks could kill, would send me 6 feet under. It only makes me laugh harder. He splashes me in the face, making me sputter. He smirks, and I splash him back. Soon, we’re in a full-on splash war, laughing at and with each other. Soon enough, we’re climbing out of the river and onto dry land because we’re both freezing. Gene’s wet clothes cling to him, exposing some of his muscle, and making me blush. Gene notices and flexes his biceps, only making me blush more.

“Like what you see?” he asks me. I chuckle a bit and nod.

“That’s hot,” I answer him. He grins. I feel warmer even though I’m freezing. I take his hand in mine, give him a quick kiss, and lead him back to the dorms, hoping that Brinker and Leper are done decorating.

(Leper’s POV)

“No, we should keep it on the desk!” I say, my temper slowly rising. Brinker and I have all of the decorations set up, we agreed to have the presents on Gene’s bed, but now we’re arguing about where to put the cake. He insists that it goes on Finny’s bed, where it could get sat on, while I say we just keep it where it is now, which is on the desk.

“Leper, if we put it on the bed, then it’ll be in the same vicinity as the other decorations. Having it on the desk will make it harder to see,” Brinker explains. He’s trying to reason with me. It won’t work.

“But if we put it on the bed, then someone could sit on it. And no one wants a smushed cake.” Brinker glances at the window, and by the look that crosses his face, I can conclude that he isn’t worried about the cake anymore. ‘Point, Leper’ I think. “Why are you staring out the window?” I ask Brinker.

“Because Finny and Gene are coming!” He answers me with a slightly alarmed tone. I look out the window and, sure enough, Finny and Gene are approaching the dorms, joking and hand-holding and….soaked? Did they fall in the river? I abandon the window, make sure the door is unlocked, and hide in the closet. Brinker stares at me like I’m crazy as I close the door.

“Why are you just standing there?! Hide!” I whisper-yell at Brinker. He finally registers what I’m doing and I hear him dive under the desk. “Watch the cake!”

“We wouldn’t have to watch the cake if it was on the bed!”

“We’re not going back to that! Just leave it!”

“No! Give me 5 seconds, and it’ll be where it’s supposed to be!”

“FORGET ABOUT THE STUPID CAKE!! THEY’RE COMING!!” Brinker shuts up after that.

(Finny’s POV)

We get to the dorm building and instantly go looking for towels to dry off with. The sunlight on the walk back to the dorms had helped us dry off a little bit, but we still wanted towels. So, after we finally find some towels and dry off, we race each other up the stairs. I win, but not by much. We stop at the top of the stairs to catch our breath. I recover first.

“Okay. Close your eyes,” I instruct Gene, who’s just now getting his air back.

“Why?” he questions. ‘Dude, just do it.’

“Because I wanna surprise you.”

“Okay…” Gene decides to trust me, closing his eyes. I take his hand once more, intertwining our fingers, and lead him to our dorm room. I go to open the door but then notice a Polaroid picture of Gene and I walking along the Devon. I already knew who it was. ‘Leper, I’m going to kill you. No one touches my Polaroid.’ I take the picture down and put it in my pocket. Then open the door. I lead us both inside, and I can’t help but admire the decorations. Brinker gives me a thumbs up from under the desk.

“Okay, open up!” I say excitedly. Gene opens his eyes, and gasps at the room around him, full of decorations and presents and cake.

“Surprise!!” Leper, Brinker, and I all shout at the same time, Leper popping out of the closet, Brinker popping out from under the desk, and me putting both my hands and one of Gene’s hands in the air. During Brinker’s attempt to get out from under the desk, he hits his head on the underside of the desk and then on the chair, and he slumps to the ground, causing Leper, Gene, and I to break down laughing.

(Brinker’s POV)

I tried to pop out from under a desk. I failed miserably, hitting my head on both the desk and the chair. I now lie on the floor with my friends laughing at me while I question and regret every life decision I’ve ever made.

(Finny’s POV)

The three of us-Gene, Leper, and I- pull Brinker up from the ground.

“I regret everything I’ve ever done,” Brinker says, voicing his inner thoughts. Leper starts laughing again, and Gene and I just grin while Brinker glares at Leper.

“So,” I start, turning to Gene, “do you like it?” He gives me an Eskimo kiss before kissing me for real. He presses his forehead to mine after breaking the kiss.

“I love it, Finny,” he answers, both of our faces completely red.

“Get a room!” Leper calls from the desk, where he and Brinker look like they’re going to tear into the cake at any given second. In response to that, Gene and I just kiss once more, while Leper face palms. “When you guys are done, can we eat?” Gene and I kiss until we need air, and only then do we break. “Finally, I’m hungry!” We start laughing again and I cut the cake, much to the delight of the other three boys in the room. We sit on my bed eating cake and telling embarrassing stories. I quickly glance at the bookcase and see my Polaroid sitting there, reminding me of something.

“Hey Leper, did you touch my Polaroid?” I ask, even though I know he did. He looks to Brinker with alarm, and Brinker gives him a look that says “you’re screwed”. Gene chuckles, luckily not choking on any cake. Leper tries not to hold eye contact with me.

“No…why would I touch your camera?” Leper counters. I don’t respond, saving that for another time, which only scares Leper more. He knows that I know. Anyways, after we finish our cake, I do a giant leap over to Gene’s bed and try to successfully do a giant leap back. I almost hit my face into a giant stack of books while losing my balance, but I don’t fall. Leper and Brinker also reveal what they got. By the time Gene’s done opening presents, he has an entire book series (Dark Tower), a pink shirt that matches mine, and a leather jacket. Brinker breaks out a pack of cards, and soon enough we’re sitting on the floor playing poker, rummy, and almost every card game in the books. By about 9:00, we’ve eaten most of the cake too, mainly because we needed food and none of us wanted to leave the dorm room. Brinker and Leper decide to head back to their rooms so that they can get some sleep, and Gene and I bid them farewell. Gene rests his head on my shoulder, and I rest my head on his.

“Did you have a good day?” I ask him. He nuzzles my neck.

“The best day,” he answers with a smile, and pulls me into a hug. I place a kiss on his forehead, and we fall asleep cuddling.

"Hoseok, looking good today," he turned to shoot a glare at Yoongi, who was leaning back in his chair with his feet on the desk, a black face mask covering his features so only his eyes and forehead could be seen. Next, to him, Namjoon was wearing a black mask that covered his eyes, and Hoseok watched as the younger tried to suppress a smile.

"You wouldn't know beauty if it walked over and slapped you in the face," Yoongi pressed his mouth into his arm to mask the sound of his laughter, and Hoseok pushed the boy's feet off the table to sit where they were, "and I'm about to slap you in the face."

Before any violence could occur, Hoseok became distracted by the usually empty desk next to his being occupied by a bright yellow rucksack and a girl looking around the room in what looked like confusion. He instantly knew she was new, and before Namjoon or Yoongi could stop him, he had pushed off of the table and was bounding over to you.

"Nice mask, but I bet you look even better without it on," if he wasn't in front of you he probably would have given himself a pat on the back but instead he waited for your reply, his hands pulling his mask off and laying it on his table.

"I thought it was tradition to wear the mask for Halloween and it had to stay on," Hoseok choked, but you continued, leaning forward so he caught a whiff of vanilla, "honestly you looked cuter with that teddy bear mask on." He could hear Yoongi's laughter behind him but he tilted his head slightly in interest. You had seemed like the stereotypical new girl, unsure of yourself and maybe a little shy but it looked like you had the confidence to spare, even under that mask.

"She thinks you're ugly too!" Namjoon called, and you watched as Hoseok turned his head over his shoulder and smirked,

"your girlfriend thinks I'm attractive," this time Namjoon choked and he pushed up out of his seat running out of the room probably to find his girlfriend to confirm the statement, but before he was out of the room Hoeok finished his statement, "she practically worships this body, I'm a deity to her."

The door to the room slammed shut and you chuckled, clicking your fingers which bought Hoseok's attention back to you, and with a smile that was partially seen under your mask, you explained, "So you're a fuckboy."

This time Yoongi couldn't hide his laughter, it practically echoed around the classroom but Hoseok didn't have time to shout at him when he was staring at you in surprise, before saying the only thing to protect his dignity, "I'm not a fuck boy."

You looked up at the ceiling as you tried to think of what to say to him before patting him on the shoulder, "sweetie, that sounds like something a fuck boy would say."

By this time Yoongi had managed to stop laughing, wiping tears from his eyes as he looked at you, his eyes closing as you realised he was smiling, "You're living up to the meaning behind your mask," this left you slightly confused but Yoongi was happy to elaborate, "you can be good or evil depending on the situation, and when it comes to Seokie, you seem pretty good at being evil."

Hoseok was failing to see the humour in this situation, and finally, he slammed his hands into the desk, "you can't be mean to me! I was being nice to the new girl! I bet you're not even that hot," he sighed beginning to walk away but he didn't make it far when you pulled your mask off and threw it at his back, where it bounced off and hit the floor.

He whipped around, his jaw-dropping before he bit in annoyance, you were stunning and he knew he had to have you, and it seemed you were aware of this fact. Hoseok let out a long groan before sitting in his chair and collapsing onto the table, his head pressed against the table before he turned it to look at you, sending you a toothy smile, "So you're hot and obviously  blind because how could you not want all of this?"

You raised an eyebrow, glancing at Yoongi who just shrugged at you, "But you think I'm hot," you couldn't help confirming what he said because when it came out of the mouth of someone that handsome you were sure it was just a pickup tactic. You couldn't help the fact you were hopelessly attracted to him; cocky attitude and all so as he perked up and pulled his chair so his knees were touching your thigh, you tried to stop the blush forming on your cheeks.

"So hot," he whispered, and you were enraptured by his smile that seemed to light up the room. It was fair to say you were finding it hard to tear your eyes from him, his hair was pushed off of his forehead and although you knew you shouldn't you placed your hand on his knee.

"Out of your league teddy bear," his smile was infectious, and it only widened when he let out a squeal, hands clutching at his heart as he leaned back before slamming his hands onto the desk. His head whipped around to stare at you, his eyes glinting at the challenge you were presenting him.

Yoongi knew you had fallen for his friend, and as Namjoon crept back into the room, his lips now covered in red lipstick - probably from his girlfriend - he happily filled his friend in about the status of the new girl and their best friend. In the time that took, you were happily chatting to Hoseok about how much you loved Halloween and you were laughing as he complained about being very easily scared.

"So are you happy with who I am under the mask?" your question made Hoseok fall silent, as he tilted his head with a small smile playing on his lips. Finally, he got up from his seat and grabbing your mask, he placed it on your desk.

"You may live up to the legend of your mask," he smirked, and pressed a kiss onto the plastic of the mask, "and I like both sides of you, cutie."

This week was a slower one but of to a good start, thanks to @gillianaofficial who shared a BTS pictures of them; “Eating my muffin” Yeah, she did post that sentence..sooooo...yeah. That was dirty sweet. 

Annabeth Gish is back on set!!!! She posted a picture in her Reyes suit and she looks fabulous as always! “Gotta use the Reyes filter for this smashing suit! Always love being back in my #monicareyes garb ❤️ 👽 “ (X)

In light of #Spirit Day, Twin Peaks posted a picture of David’s character, Denise, on Twitter. “That Moment When David Duchovny introduced us to Denise. #TBT #SpiritDay #TwinPeaks #Showtime” (X) David did answer their tweet and so did Brick. 

The X-files social media team is trying out some content on Twitter... THE TRUTH ISN'T FAR NOW (X) 

We got more of the conspiracy theories in connections with William. “Duchovny offered this cryptic tease when I asked him which of his parents William most resembles: “He resembles two people that aren’tMulder and Scully. And when you read this back [after watching the episodes] you’ll figure this out.”  

Also, we had a new interview released by TV Guide from NYCC. David was very shy, basically at every question handing the microphone to Chris. I guess, after last year wife-gate he is being a bit more cautious this time around. 😂He did summarize the whole show tho, “After everything we’ve been through after everything you’ve seen,  why can’t you f*cking believe?” (X)

We learnt that the new actor who may or may not be William is Susan Sarandon’s son, Miles Robbins. He posted his trailer from the set. (X)

Then came another great moment when Gillian posted one more Instagram Story from the set. Well, from the makeup trailer part of the set!!!! The video is all very cute, show the new actor playing Jackson Van de Kamp, and David Duchovny getting a head massage and being absolutely not bothered when Gillian is putting her phone in his face 😂😂 He just keeps going on about baseball.  Also, somewhere over the rainbow in the background is perfect!

Mitch also shared some BTS pictures but I think - based on their outfits - that they are not recent pictures. That said, they are definitely dorky pictures and they all look very good. 😊 (X) A couple of days later we got one more gem of bts looks: David: "Okay, is she doing the crazy eye thing again?" Me: "Dunno, but I'm doing my beacon in the night thing." (X)

We know that they are filming episode 6 now, which is a Skinner-centric episode. We got quite a few pictures from one of the sets and it does look like Skinner’s Vietnam memories are coming to life...(X)

We already had Annabeth, Mitch and Gillian checking in from the set, so here we go with the next big star of the show, Brick Duchovny! “Thanks Emily for taking such great pictures of me on the set of @thexfilesfox!“ I just love this little cutie and his Visitor badge... (X)

Cutie Reviews: YumeTwins July 19

Hello~ Welcome to our review :3 today we’ll be looking at the July YumeTwins. For anyone curious, my mom is doing very well and they said she could leave later today (Sunday).

“It’s finally summer time and with the weather heating up we hope you’re looking forward to getting outside and enjoying the sun! We had exactly that in mind when we put together this month’s selection of goodies for you. Isn’t it funny how when the sun comes out it somehow magically brightens our mood? We hope you’re feeling motivated and excited to get together with friends for a fun day in the sun or a Pool Party! Don’t forget to bring along your kawaii pool party items from this month’s box! Are you excited yet? We sure are! We hope you enjoy!“

(Just pointing this out for anyone new... I know people like sunny weather, but my mood improves when it’s rainy and cloudy out.)

Gudetama Sticky Notes/Pokemon Stickers

I know, you’re probably wondering “there’s no Gudetama though“, and I have a good reason for this. The booklet lists Gudetama Sticky Notes, but as you can see I didn’t get them. If I recall, this is because something happened and they had to replace them for some boxes... I’m not 100% sure, this was back in July when I looked into it.

Keep in mind things like this usually don’t happen- and since I can’t exactly remember why it did, I won’t fault YumeTwins for it. With that, let’s take a look at this cute sheet of puffy stickers I did get instead. There are 65 in total, featuring a variety of Pokemon and some pokeballs. They’re a bit on the small side, but that just means you can use a lot more :P

Although I don’t like tiny stickers, I do admire all the detail you can see in these. However, I noticed some of of mine have little itty-bitty smudges or markings, they’re also pretty hard for puffy stickers.

Kawaii Character Pouch

Our next item is a cute little pouch, which would come in handy at the pool for storing small items you can keep nearby. There was a variety of fun prints and Sanrio characters available. The one I got is an adorable Sumikko Gurashi pouch, featuring a pastel floral background and black details surrounded by the series name and writing that says “Day after day we have fun in the corner.“. There is also a light pink ball chain connected to this, giving you the option to attach it to various items.

Although I’ve gotten numerous pouches like this, I think this would be one of my most favorites. I love the floral background on it~ It’s well made, it feels nice on both the inside and outside, although I did notice its on the thin side, so I’m not sure it could handle a lot of abuse, or getting wet. Not sure.

Key Chain and Strap

To go with the pouch, we also get this adorable chain and strap piece that can be used as is, or you could split it into two portions and use both pieces separately if you wanted. You could even “cross swap“ the chains, so you could make the rubbery piece into a phone charm if you wanted. Like the pouch, these consist of various Sanrio characters partnered with various items they’re often found with, for example, besides Hello Kitty and her bow, there’s also Gudetama with an egg.

I love Hello Kitty, so I’m always a little disappointed when I don’t get her for items featuring various Sanrio characters~ Which happens a good amount of time! But this time I got lucky x3 I’m especially fond of Hello Kitty phone charms because back when I had a phone that could have them, I used a vampire Hello Kitty charm I loved more than anything. I still have it (and a Hello Kitty Frankenstein too, it was part of a Halloween series) but I can’t use it at the time.

As you can see in the picture, the details are perfect, the lines and colors are smooth and crisp, the figure is especially extremely well done for something its size and has a lot of details on it. The pose and item are obviously on the generic side, but I think in this case it actually works for the line.

Handy Mist Fan

A perfect summers item (and probably really fun at a pool :D), this adorable Sanrio hand fan comes in the shape of a star wand and is available in this hot pink and red various Sanrio mascots, or there is a pale colored Sumikko Gurashi one. Besides being a cooling hand fan that requires no batteries, there is a special feature that makes this one even more fun; it has a water mist function!

Initially I didn’t know that. but I did see the hole the water comes out, and had been wondering what the side tab did. I never really looked at the description until I began writing about it, and as it turns out you just unscrew the bottom and fill it with water. The tab on the side is for controlling this feature, and the water will mist out while you’re using it. There is also a long string you can use to hang this from your neck or various items.

This is actually a lot of fun! I usually don’t get that excited by hand fans because while they are cute, I find they either work or they don’t (or the breeze is so small you can barely feel it) so I wasn’t very sure I’d be satisfied. But it works really good, I was surprised by how cooled I felt while/after use, and the misting function is really strong, to the point you get water all over you. I can’t see this being an ideal winter toy, but it’s perfect for late-spring and summer! 

Sailor Moon Jar

Next up is a pretty KiraKira Canister inspired by Sailor Moon that was available in 2 colors (pink or purple), both featured alternate images. But otherwise they have the same physical appearance. The jar has a diamond tile etching you can feel on the inside, and on the top of the lid is a gem. It’s also a decent size and the booklet suggests using it for things like candies, hair accessories, and cosmetics; which I think I will do. Lately I’ve been putting all my unique lip products from the boxes in the Sumikko Gurashi container I keep my earrings in and I ran out of room <3<

This is a pretty item that could come in a lot of handy in numerous cases, it’d also be the perfect gift for a Sailor Moon fan x3 The details make it extra-special, I like it a lot~

Kirby Inflatable Ball

This is our last item of the box, an adorable Kirby inflatable that also serves as the featured item this month!

This airy toy makes for a lot of fun at the pool or just as an inflatable yo-yo :3 it’s very fun to play with and was surprisingly easy to blow up for me -and I have asthma- although my cheeks still felt a little sore afterwards~

There is one downside I noticed, and I don’t know if its just mine, or if they all have this issue. I noticed over time Kirby seems to lose some air, and I don’t know if it has a hole somewhere -despite being kept in its packaging until I took the pictures- or if its meant to do that. It’s still playable of course, but it’s a minor concern.

♡ Cutie Ranking ♡

Content - 5 out of 5. We got some good, quality items this time! I didn’t notice anything messed up or sloppy (besides a couple Pokemon stickers), each piece was detailed and very cute/pretty and individually I essentially liked all of them.

Theme: 2.5 out of 5. Honestly this is where they fell a little short I thought... I mean, we only have 2 really obvious pool-based items in the box- but you could use them in multiple locations too, which is good. But while you could store small items to bring with you in the wallet and jar, who would actually bring these to a pool? Maybe to a poolside locker or hotel. The stickers/sticky notes and charm kinda don’t work for me theme wise, and all they suggest is using the charm as an accessory to the pouch. They could have just as easily included a water-filled charm or something to add more of the pool touch to it. 

Total Rank: 7 out of 10. I really did like this box, would recommend, the only thing I had a problem with was that I felt like the theme could have been better. The theme suits summer strongly, it was just the items didn’t fully meet the theme in my opinion. 

♡ Cutie Scale ♡

1. Sailor Moon Jar - I love, love, love it~! It’s so pretty looking and it’s a decent size so I know it will come in handy regardless of what I choose to do with it. 

2. Hand Mist Fan - Great for cooling down when you feel particularly warm or just want to have some fun~

3. Character Pouch - I got tons of these, I didn’t need another one; but I love how it looks! Definitely in my top 3 of pouches I own, I’d be very likely to use it. 

4. Kirby Inflatable Ball - As precious as Kirby is and as fun as this is, I’m worried over the air draining out of it, but I couldn’t find any holes. I’ll probably hang it up somewhere safe to make sure it doesn’t get one for now.   

5. Keychain and Strap - I’m very happy I got Hello Kitty!

6. Pokemon Stickers - I don’t like repetitive sticker sheets, even though they do have their good points. And because a few of them got messed up I can throw them away with no remorse.

It’s been a really, really long time since we’ve seen Beautyberry (although she was at Pepper’s wedding in the background). I’ve thought a lot about what she’d be up to and really wanted to bring her back into the story, at least for a quick update.

If I ever do a AU Gumdrop story, she’d definitely have a bigger role.

                       One thng I hate is you cant equip glasses to sleepwear without them sleeping in them bc like... my indication is they normally wear contacts but ykno you gotta let your eyes rest!!                  

That would be so cool! I usually just don’t put glasses on their sleepwear but that’s not very realistic either. : /

I have no idea why Cayo is such a terrible cook. I figured she’d be better at it since she’s creative but nope! I’m scared for her future dwarfs.

Mercury is so freaking adorable! I really can’t say that enough. ♥ ♥ ♥

Also, they and Cayo cannot keep their hands off each other! Their romantic relationship was pretty high because of the wishing well so I was working on building up their friendship and all they wanted to do was flirt.

I had completely forgotten about it too. When the fire started, I figured we’d just wait until the firefighter showed up because Cayo really isn’t the type to risk her neck for material possessions. There were a lot of extra damages because of that. -____-
