Exalted Secret Santa Ref Journal (2020)

Here’s my characters references for the Exalted Secret Santa :)

Character One: Nellens Leaping River Orchid Solar Twilight, Supernal Craft

Age: Late 20′s Art Ref: Here! Physical Description: Leaping River Orchid (or, just Orchid), is a short, thin, mousy looking woman. She has long brown hair, usually done up in some fashion, green eyes and a pale complexion. She always takes great care of her apperance (Thanks Collar of Dawn’s Cleansing Light), and has a very straightback posture. Her clothing style is mainly inspired by chinese hanfu in either Nellens brown or Realm red.She doesn’t wear a lot of jewellry, but what she wears is high-quality. She wears makeup and often has a bright coloured lipstick.

Personality: Orchid is an archeologist and a nerd at heart. She is usually very reserved and calm, but will geek out to the exclusion of all else (including her own health), when she get’s her hands on an artefact or old ruins. Socially she often comes across as condesending and snobby. (Think Henry Jones Sr) She is especially bad at dealing with “common people” and usually let’s her circle do the majority of the talking, prefering to advice and observe from the sidelines. She doesn’t have many friends, but loves them dearly and expresses it through (often extravagant) gifts. Character Two: Moira Solar Dawn, Supernal Martial Arts Age: Late teenager Art Ref: Here! Physical Description: Moira is rather short at 155 cm (5″1), but is very fit, if built for speed rather than strength. She has bright red hair, green eyes and is covered in freckles Despite exalted levels of healing, she always seems to be bruised and scraped, especially on her knees and knuckles. She’s a martial arts fighter, favouring tiger style, wears a pair of artefact razor gloves. Despite her usually scruffy apperance, she has artefact armor given to her by the groups twilight, who has also occasinoally forced her to wash her goddamn hair.  Her anima is a monsterous creature part lion part tyrant-lizard (in the art ref) 

Personality: Moira has a nasty temper, and considers “punching it really hard” to be an adequate sollution to most of the problem her circle runs into. Though she can see the value in keeping her head down and staying out of sight. If nothing else to get the joy of an ambush. Moira has nothing against fighing dirty, knowing full well that people tend to underestimate her. Moira grew up in the slums, and has a deep distrust of people in charge. Lacking any formal education, and not being very bright to begin with, often has her giving up on any more advanced discussions as “boring” or “complicated” and she might end up wandering off on her own to watch people instead. Character Three: Nié XiaoLié (Laughing Sparrow) Solar Night, Supernal Stealth Age: Early 20′s Art Ref: Here! Physical description: XiaoLié is of avarage hight (i:e around 160 cm), She has dark green hair, with a lock of snowwhite hair at her fringe, and grey eyes. Her hair is always tied with a white ribbon and a hairpiece with the symbol of her sect. She prefers to dress in purples and blues, well kept but not overtly extravagant. (Her clothing is heavily inspired by the dounghai for Scum Villain Self Saving System) Her weapons of choice are an artefact whip that takes the form of a ring, and a warfan. Personality: Despite the fact that she’s currently living in hiding, XiaoLié (going under the name Laughing Sparrow) faces every challange with a smile, prefering to hide her true intentions behind layers of politeness and good humor. Though she is not afraid to strike hard and fast when needed, she favours the more subtle approach to dealing with her enemies. Unless the enemy in questions are the ones behind the slaughter of her family, in which case her good humor disappears, and she shows her ruthless, borderline sadistic side. She shows no mercy for those who threaten those she cares for and is motivated by the need to take back her ancestral home and restore her house to it’s former glory.

【History Note】

On the basis of the Han and Jin Dynasties Ru skirts (襦裙) , women's clothing in the Southern and Northern Dynasties developed a romantic and light artistic style. On the whole, the neckline is getting wider, the waist and the lower part of sleeve are narrowed, and the styles are changeable. This set of attirt is restored from the portrait brick figures of the Southern Dynasties in Xiangyang. The waist of the skirt is raised to the chest, it is matched with an open collar and wide sleeves, the head is combed in a butterfly-shaped bun, and it wears a fan-shaped golden hairpin. The whole set of costumes elongates the visual proportion of the human body, looks delicate and slender, and has a graceful posture. When walking, the double robes sway with the Luo skirt, which shows the pursuit of the literati of the Southern Dynasty for the posture of elegant, so there is a " 双袂齐举鸾凤翔 ". " 罗裳皎日袂随风 " the literary description of. In the later period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, this open-collar and wide-sleeved design became more and more popular, and it was popular in the north and south.

Even in the colder north, this fashion was still pursued, and it was still very popular until the Sui and Tang dynasties.
