NAGEKOMI”. Practice the day before the All-Japan Judo Championships

The Hane goshi is slowly becoming my favourite throw. Maybe it's the inescapable nature of its execution. Maybe it's the tactile nature of the leg extension and the uke sliding off it like a sack of potatoes.

My tokui waza used to be the Tai otoshi because it was easily hidden as a plan B move. But now I want to pivot to this. Yesterday my sensei told me the harai goshi was the preferred throw of middleweight to heavyweight judoka. I agree but inside I was like I really like Hane goshi more.

Heavy Hanegoshi from Rekhviashvili with DeWitt at Ekaterinburg Grand Slam 2017... the first try was not heavy enough for the referee LOL

I propose some discuss about this throw

De Witt falls three times before this ippon, first was in a sode-o-soto-gari motion from the georgian, can’t remember second time he falls but Rekhviash was hopping more than the waza but was not worth it in my mind... third time he got DeWitt in the same snatch motion, scored only waza again even though it was heavier than the fourth one... 

Somehow a little messy scoring decisions in that fight...
