C. Phasma's sixth novel sparked a lot of controversy. She was accused of copying well known author Sh'Ak E-Spearé. Turns out, the cover text was a homage. The story itself about two (very questionable) middle-aged commanders and their affair amidst the battlefield had very little in common with the royal tragedy. Mitaka was very keen on coaching her regarding press statements. Questions about the lack of clothing should be answered like "Stranded in unmapped forest territory together, bathing will demand the removal of wardrobe" . That sounded way more noble than a blunt "Ripping the clothes of each other in a feral act of heat", how Phasma would have put it. She was not sure she liked him butting in that much.. .but his editing was proper, so he got a pass on that. Hux is pretty sure that some of the lines sound familiar... and why does Mitaka look so nervous during his shifts lately?... oh no, did he READ those filthy novels?!? Worse- DID THE SUPREME LEADER?! Why does he have a potrait of himself in that style hanging suddenly?! And why did Cardinal scale down his shifts?! Why is he looking at Hux so intensely and always scribbling down something on his pad?!?!? Hux paranoia is growing stronger with every day. Especially since his lawyers have not found a single point to put an end to this. They say "Commander Hugs" is to far from "General Hux" . And what about their weird questions regarding his flexibility?!? He is furious. Leia is livid she has not been informed on these things. Of course, she looked at who the publisher is and tore Lando a new one... per holocall. Lando was very apologetic but also pointed out those novels posed a big enough distraction, to the building progress of Starkiller, which had nearly come to a standstill. ... Leia invests in Poes priorly proposed strategic distraction maneuver: A holo-movie adaption. She does NOT want anything to do with it, and who dares to show her elements, will learn what the force truly can mean. But she greenlit it. ... Poe and his squad are in hyperfocus on realizing this project asap. Finn is not sure he likes his boyfriends ambitions- until Rey shows him the casting list. He is on board immediately. .... and Kylo (seemingly) is none the wiser. Original image by Elaine Duillo. (Thank you @morby for providing me with that great image and input on finding the right title :D) Development of the story inspired by @brieflymaximumprincess tags >:3)

some ppl very kindly loredumped abt the organa-solo kids for me so gonna put that + responses below the cut!! ↓
@erkhyan asked:
Don’t mind me, just dropping some Organa Solo kids lore, hopefully summarized enough. Anakin: both motivated and intimidated by the fact that his name was supposed to redeem that of his grandpa. Had his grandpa’s qualities (excellent pilot, great warrior, very strong in the Force) but none of his negative trait. Traumatized by being unable to save Chewie. Died a hero at age 16 during a successful mission to destroy a Jedi-killing weapon. Jacen: a big, empathetic goof as a teen, but was traumatized by the war that killed Anakin. The war and the trauma of Anakin’s death turned him into an introspective monk who went to learn weird non-Jedi Force powers. Returned, fathered a secret daughter, fell to the Dark Side because the Force told him that every timeline in which he’s not a Sith ends badly for his daughter. Became a Sith Lord by killing mara jade Skywalker. Eventually died when he found himself having to choose between saving his daughter from an Imperial plot, and dodging his sister’s lightsaber. Jaina: best pilot, best lightsaber user, best warrior, earned the nickname of Sword of the Jedi. Unfortunately, people mostly remember the fact that she was stuck in the world’s most annoying love triangle for two decades in-universe. And that time she processed the trauma of Anakin’s death by trying to seduce her Jedi Master. And that time she was in a bug hivemind that tried to solve her love triangle with a sexy threesome. And that time she went to train under Boba Fett so that she could kill Jacen in Luke’s stead. And also because the Jedi Order finally recognizing that she should have been a made a Master years ago, was almost the LAST thing that happened in the Legends continuity. Heavily implied that her husband would have eventually become Emperor (but a good one) if the continuity had been allowed to go on.
CHEWIE DIED??????????? also christ thats a lot to put on poor lil anakin jr-- ALSO AGAIN. POOR LEIA. HASNT SHE BEEN THRU ENOUGH (poor han too but LEIA)
WHY ARE THERE MORE STAR WARSES!!! LEAVE THEM ALONE!! a secret daughter hi i love those but AGAIN. POOR LEIA. A SITH. FR HE KILLED MARA JADE WHAT???????????? oh my god.
i support jaina's turboslaggery she's been thru so much also WHAT potential emperor husband????????? wow ok legends gets wilder n wilder

@novastargalaxydesigns asked:
I saw your Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin from Legends! And as someone who freaking adores that trio, I'd love to help point out a few things! In Legends of the Force, Jacen starts to affiliate himself with the Dark Side with his cousin, Ben, as his apprentice. Anakin was killed before the book, The Joiner King, and I didn't get the book that he was killed off in, but if I remember correctly, it was told in The Joiner King that he was killed during a mission as a fighter pilot. Jaina, in Legends of the Force I believe if I remember correctly, she gave up being a Jedi to be a pilot. I don't have all of the Legends of the Force books so I may be a bit spiffy on a few things. But we cannot forget Chewbacca's nephew, Lowbacca aka Lowie, and Jacen's childhood and teen hood crush, Tenel Ka whom is a princess and he accidentally cut her hand off with his new lightsaber during the book Young Jedi Knights Lightsabers. And Zekke who went to the dark side in the series Young Jedi Knights (I only got the first 3), but was redeemed. Anyone please correct my nerdiness if I'm wrong. But anygays, you has been educated by a fluffy bean. Had a lovely day!
JACEN CORRUPTS LUKE'S KID??????? HUH?????? CAN THE SKYWALKERS NOT CATCH LIKE. ONE SINGLE BREAK FROM THE DARKSIDE EVER???????? PLEASE
sorry all i can think w the tenel ka thing is:

@m0th-person asked:
To follow up on the solo kids ask, Jaina had a weird love life. Her love interest that she eventually married was Jagged Fel. He is the son of the former baron of the empire , Sootir Fel, and Syal Antilles-Fel (Wedge Antilles sister) . (a picture I found on Wookieepedia when he was imperial head of state, the white streak in the hair seems to be genetic) Jag grew up in Thrawn’s empire of the hand (and was grown up with the chiss expectations, that’s literally the second quote on his wookieepedia page)

he had 3 out of his 5 other siblings die. He eventually became the imperial head of state (he first lost to his rival political candidate for the role because abeloth messed with it) and flash forward to the legacy comics, his descendants have revamped the imperial remnant into the Fel Empire. It’s mostly believed that his descendants are also Jaina’s because both Roan fel and his daughter empress Marasiah Fel are both force sensitive. And Jacen Solo’s descendant , Ania Solo, says she’s a distant cousin of Marasiah. (Roan)

(Marasiah and her love interest) ( the imperial knights were grey Jedi that served the Fel empire) — and in legends Han actually had a family tree (ancestors, specifically, Jonash e solo (who was Corellian royalty and the admiral-prince during the old republic time period)) , and him and Jagged fel’s father used to rivals in the imperial academy. Darth Vader attended his class graduation and I only find this funny because Han became his son-in-law.
jaina was rlly living that booktok enemies to lovers life back in the 90s huh. go girl i love her and support her weird love life decisions so much
omg go han having fancy royalty ties <3 see hanleia IS politically advantageous
#legends sounds like it's a terrible time for every character involved#star wars legends#thanks for the ask!

Just Stating Facts
Part 2 to “Five More Minutes” - I’d highly suggest reading that before this one since you might be a little confused otherwise 😅
Han x Leia, around the time of/a bit before ESB
Summary: Han is back from his supply run, and Leia isn’t sure if they’re going to talk about how she woke up in his bed before he left.
Word count: 2361
- - - - - -
It had been nearly three weeks since Han had left on his supply run with Chewbacca. The supplies they needed were located in the Kontahr system of the Mid Rim, so it wasn’t a quick journey. Not to mention that the main stop on their supply run was Haidoral Prime, which was swarming with Imperials. The chances that the run would have to be extended simply for safety reasons were high, so Leia wasn’t holding her breath on the day of Han and Chewie’s expected return.
But it turned out she should’ve been.
Leia was in her quarters, finishing braiding her hair for the day when her comm beeped with an incoming audio message. She groaned in frustration and swept her braid to the side, keeping it from unraveling with one hand while she pulled the comm off the waistband of her snowsuit with the other.
“What is it?” She asked, leaning back against the chair she was sitting in.
“Princess Leia, Captain Solo has returned from his supply run. You are needed in the briefing room to discuss how it went.” The communications officer informed her. Leia immediately straightened up. Han, back already?
“Uh, yes. I will be there shortly,” she said, tossing the comm down once the communications officer ended the transmission, and quickly finishing up her braid. She didn’t think Han would be back so soon. Perhaps they ran into trouble and had to abandon the rest of the mission.
Even as she wondered this, a small pool of dread started to form in her stomach. Well, she wouldn’t call it dread, exactly, more uneasy anticipation about seeing Han again. The last time she saw him was when she had woken up in his bed, snuggled against him, and had promptly darted out before they could even talk about it (or have any sort of normal conversation whatsoever).
She wasn’t sure how he would act around her now. On one hand, it had been a completely innocent mistake. They hadn’t kissed or… or anything else Leia had secretly imagined them doing. And yet, it was the closest act of intimacy they had experienced so far. She only hoped he wouldn’t make any callous remark about it in front of Dodonna and Rieekan. She didn’t know how she would be able to get out of that conversation unscathed.
Opening the door with a quick tap of the control panel, Leia set off at a brisk pace for the briefing room. There wasn’t much she could do to avoid facing him, and even if she was able to delay it, she couldn’t put it off forever. Han would probably invite her and Luke over for dinner soon, and she didn’t necessarily want their first interaction after what happened to be surrounded by their friends. At least with the generals, she could brush off any awkwardness more easily.
She reached the door of the briefing room and steeled herself before stepping inside. Han was already there, talking to Rieekan while casually leaning against a conference table with his arms crossed. His belt was slung low on his hips and he wore his usual white shirt and dark blue jacket. Honestly, how he wasn’t constantly cold in Hoth’s frigid temperatures never failed to surprise her.
“Princess,” Dodonna said from his chair. “Just in time.”
Han’s eyes cut to her after hearing her title, and Leia pretended not to notice as she smiled politely at the general.
“Shall we begin?” She asked as she took her seat, tucking her hands under her legs to stop them from trembling.
“Of course. Captain Solo’s supply run was quite successful, as he tells us.” Dodonna said as he handed Leia a folder with a stack of papers in it.
“Yeah, it wasn’t too bad at all,” Han agreed, taking the seat next to Leia. Feeling his eyes on her, she glanced to the side and met them before quickly looking away again. Gods, did he have to sit right next to her?
She began the interview, asking Han menial questions about the length of the journey, when exactly they arrived, and if they encountered any Imperials. She tried not to make too much eye contact with him as they talked, hoping it wasn’t obvious to Rieekan and Dodonna, who were sitting three feet away, that she was purposefully avoiding any unnecessary interaction with him. Han took it all in stride, answering the questions smoothly and even leaning back in his chair with his legs crossed. He was acting so normal it almost made Leia question whether or not she had imagined the entire situation to begin with.
It wouldn’t have been the first time she’d dreamt about waking up with Han, she winced.
Once the interview concluded, Leia was out of her seat and halfway to the door. “Let me know when Corporal Quien takes inventory of the supplies Captain Solo picked up,” she called from over her shoulder.
“Actually, Princess Leia, Corporal Quien isn’t able to take inventory today. He has to help train some of the younger tauntauns instead,” Dodonna interrupted.
“Leia could do it,” Han suggested, and she froze with her hand over the control panel of the door.
“Unfortunately, Princess Leia has to write up a few reports on other missions today,” Rieekan told Han.
Leia slowly turned to face them, and Han’s eyes immediately found hers. He fixed her with a level stare, slightly raising his chin up in a silent challenge. Would she continue to avoid him, or talk about what happened?
She gripped the side of the door for support as she flicked her eyes between Han’s. She couldn’t evade the conversation forever, and she supposed a part of her wondered what they would even talk about. What would Han say?
“It’s perfectly alright,” she said loudly, clearing her throat. “I’d be happy to help Captain Solo with inventory and finish the reports later.” Han raised his eyebrows, and Leia thought she spotted a small smirk on his face before he turned back to the generals.
Rieekan nodded. “Fine. Take the datapad; it has all of the information on it.” Leia moved forward to pick it up, but Han beat her to it, waving it merrily in the air at her.
“C’mon then,” he said easily, moving past her smoothly. “Let’s go.”
Leia took a couple of jogging steps to catch up to him as he strode at a swift pace down the corridors. She had to walk a bit quicker than he did, since he was significantly taller and had longer legs.
They walked in silence for the entirety of the distance to the hangar where the Falcon had landed. The boarding ramp was already down, so Leia hurried up it as Han led her to the hold.
“Alright,” he said, unlatching the door for them. “The big stuff’s over there on the shelves, and the valuable stuff is in those crates.” He gestured around the room.
Leia stepped in and held out her hand for the datapad, which Han gave her. She turned it on and swiped into the inventory checklist. “Do you want to read it out, or should I?” She asked him. He shrugged.
“I’ll read it,” he said, and Leia handed the datapad back to him. She shifted past him so she could see the shelves better.
“Start with medical supplies first,” she directed him, surveying the shelves.
“Right. Bone stabilizers? Should be three of ‘em,” Han read out. Leia scanned for the tools and nodded when she saw them.
“They’re here,” she said.
“Intravenous sugar-solution drip?”
“That’s here too.”
They continued on for some time, slowly ticking off each item on the checklist. Leia was beginning to wonder if Han would even say anything about what had happened, when they started taking inventory of the fruits and plants he had picked up.
“Barabel fruit?” Han prompted her.
“Ten of them,” she replied. Han checked off the box with a little ding from the datapad.
“Balka greens?” He asked. Then: “Are you gonna say anythin’ about it?”
Leia faltered for a split second, her hand pausing as she counted the stalks of balka greens on the shelf. “About what?” She replied smoothly, “Five balka greens.”
Another ding of the datapad. “About what happened the mornin’ I left. Portaak leaf?”
Leia closed her eyes briefly, thankful her back was to Han so he couldn’t see her expression or the thoughts whirring in her head. “There’s nothing to talk about,” she responded. “And I don’t see any portaak leaves.”
“What? I know I picked ‘em up.” Han said sharply, taking a step closer. Leia inhaled sharply, not expecting his sudden proximity. Han glanced down at her like he noticed it, but luckily didn’t say anything.
“Well, I’m not seeing any of them,” she said simply, trying to take a step back from him. Unfortunately, the hold space they were in was very small, so there was nowhere else to stand.
“Maybe they’re on a different shelf,” he muttered, bending down to scan for them. Leia crossed her arms and leaned as far back as she could without looking odd or falling over.
“They’re not there,” she repeated.
“We do have to talk about it, though,” Han said suddenly, looking up at her. Leia’s heart jumped into her throat. “You rushed outta there before I could say a thing.”
She shook her head. “You didn’t need to say anything to begin with. We can consider it of no concern.” She said simply, wishing he’d just drop it and go back to looking for the portaak leaves he most certainly did not pick up.
“You woke up in my bed, Leia. I think we at least need to clear the air some.” Han said, exasperated, as he straightened up to lean against the shelf.
“That makes it sound like we went to bed together the night before,” Leia pointed out wryly, shaking her head. “I just accidentally fell asleep in your cabin and didn’t wake up until the morning.”
“You fell asleep next to me,” Han pointed out.
“Well, yes.”
“That sounds a whole lot like going to bed together.”
“Oh, please,” Leia scoffed, rolling her eyes. “It was not as dramatic as you’re making it seem.”
“I’m not makin’ it seem dramatic at all! I’m just statin’ the facts of what happened.” Han shook his head, running a hand through his hair in exasperation.
“If you’re clear on what happened then, what’s there to discuss?” Leia said simply, uncrossing her arms to nervously fiddle with the sleeve of her snowsuit.
“You were actin’ all weird in the briefing, and you’re actin’ all weird now too,” Han gestured at her with the datapad. She reached out to snatch it from his hands so they could maybe get back on track.
“I’m not acting weird,” she snapped, grasping the datapad and trying to tug it away from him.
“Really? So you avoidin’ eye contact with me at all costs isn’t weird?” He cocked his head to the side, tightening his grip on the datapad to keep her from taking it.
“I wasn’t avoiding looking at you,” Leia lied through clenched teeth, still trying to pull it away from him.
“Yeah, you were, and you still are now,” Han insisted, and with a final yank, tugged her and the datapad back to him.
Leia stumbled towards him, catching herself on the shelf before she could careen into him. She looked up to fix him with a death glare but immediately faltered when she realized how close they were.
Han towered above her, tilting his head down so he could properly look at her. From this distance, they must’ve been just inches away from each other. He was so close she could see each color in his eye, the lighter flecks among the darker hazel. Something in Han’s eyes softened as he looked at her, and he let out a warm breath she felt on her cheeks.
“Why did you run out?” He asked quietly, leaning his head against the shelf while still maintaining eye contact with her.
“I… you didn’t realize I was there,” she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
“I thought I was dreamin’ when I woke up earlier. I didn’t think you were actually there,” Han explained, echoing what he had said the morning of.
Leia wasn’t sure what to say. She was frozen in place, unable to move, speak, or even break her gaze away from Han’s. A soft smile appeared on Han’s face, curving his lips slightly upwards.
“You didn’t have to leave so fast,” he murmured in a low voice. “Next time, you can stay longer.”
Leia finally found her voice. “Next time?” She said hoarsely. “Rather confident, are you?”
Han’s smile only grew. “Only if you want to,” he added, his eyes dropping to her lips and back up so fast she almost missed it.
“I’m not planning on sleeping with you again anytime soon,” she said, then immediately cringed. “I didn’t mean it like that,” she clarified quickly, but Han’s smile had already turned into a smirk.
“Sure you didn’t, sweetheart,” he said, straightening up and away from her. She leaned back a little, creating some more distance between them and hoping her face wasn’t red.
“Ah-ha,” Han exclaimed suddenly, reaching up to an upper shelf and pulling down a small bunch of greens tied together with a string. “Found the portaak leaves.”
Leia nodded, reaching for the datapad again. This time, Han let her have it, and she checked off the box for portaak leaves.
“Should we continue?” She asked, glad her voice had finally stopped shaking.
“Yeah,” Han said, shrugging. “And you can come over for dinner if you want, with me an’ Chewie. I was gonna tell Luke to come too.”
Leia glanced up from the datapad. “Oh. Yes. I’ll come,” she nodded, her heart beating just a little faster.
Han threw her a lopsided smile over his shoulder. “Feel free to stay for as long as you want after,” he added teasingly.
Leia bit back a smile and looked back down at the checklist. “Keep dreaming, flyboy.”

A/N: By popular demand, I wrote a part 2! And by “popular demand,” I mean that one person commented they wanted to know what happened after so I immediately had to make a second part. Also, this was not beta read, I wrote it in one sitting instead of working on my actual WIP… oh well, it was fun to write. Hope you enjoyed!
I would love any feedback you have to offer since I’m just getting into writing fics!
Thank you for reading! :)

Dragon's Star Wars Masterlist
** = smut * = no smut, but suggestive themes
Series
Star Wars: Remnants (masterlist) A series of one shots listed in chronological order (but can be read out of order) about the budding relationship between you and Luke as you further your Jedi training together in the hopes of reviving a new order. Takes place post-ROTJ.
Starwarsdew: A Star Wars/Stardew Valley Crossover (masterlist) After inheriting your grandpa’s farm, you move to Pelican Town in Stardew Valley, where a host of tasks await you. While trying to revive the old property and farmhouse, you also have to gain the locals’ trust and uncover the secrets of the land’s mysterious Forest Magic from the equally elusive wizard, Yoda. The town doctor and his apprentice—Dr. Kenobi and Luke Skywalker—seem equally wrapped up in it, but to what extent you can’t say. As you and Luke become closer and learn the secrets of the woods together, the looming war with the Gotoro Empire casts a shadow over the valley just as he’s about to return to the city to complete his medical degree—the city that’s right in the middle of ground the Ferngill Republic is struggling to hold. Will you ever see him again? If you do, will he return the person you knew and were falling for? Or will a darker version prevail?
One Shots & Drabbles
Undone* -> You and Luke reunite after a long mission apart, with plenty of ideas to fill the time before you go give your commanding officer your report.

You know, I WAS joking about Jaina Solo in that poll post but can you imagine if they hadn’t nixed her from canon and Disney just kept doing the Tired Surrogate Dad/Guardian™ + kid story they’ve been doing and had instead had itty bitty Jaina Solo kidnapped, either meeting Boba Fett by random chance as he’s gunning down whoever it is that ransomed her, or Han and Leia specifically hiring Boba Fett to go find her. One of those chance meetings where these two characters cross paths once and then never see each other again until decades later when Jaina goes to him as an adult for training because she needs to be able to fight Jacen
I’ve never thought that Luke should be trying to build a Jedi school directly after the events of the original trilogy. They should have realistically known that there were going to be Imperials that needed to be found and defeated after the end of the war, it’s not like those structures suddenly stop existing, so Luke is off on whatever mission he’s doing as the resident Jedi, killing imperials and blowing up their resources or whatever
Leia’s running the New Republic. Han and Lando have their own roles. Jaina ends up kidnapped, Han and Chewie take off in pursuit. Leia obviously sends a more official group of guards out searching but Han was already halfway out the door, and he and Chewie’s pasts provide them with a bit more unscrupulous avenues of gaining info
Boba Fett just happened to be tracking whatever criminals kidnapped Jaina and just happens to intercept them a few days after Jaina was nabbed; the criminals’ ship is damaged in a firefight between them but not completely destroyed, and Boba boards the ship and there’s a whole standoff between him and them based on whatever their beef is before he just wastes the guys
And then he’s picking through their stuff for whatever it is he was there for and— oh sh*t is that a kid
We see both sides of the story unfolding as they get closer and closer to colliding with one another; on one side we have the worst week of Han Solo’s life and YES he’s counting being frozen in carbonite and waking up in Jabba’s Palace. Just sheer terror at what could happen to her, not knowing where she is, using every old trick and contact and criminal means necessary trying to find the kidnappers. Chewie having to stop him at one point as he’s just carving his way through anyone standing between them, needing to rein him in, make Han realize he needs a clear head and can’t lose his focus and snap right now. The two of them mowing through criminals and obstacles and us getting to see a more serious, intimidating side to Han, all the charm and levity gone from his interactions because this time he’s the one in pursuit, not the one running away, and what he’s trying to find is more important to him than anything else
Meanwhile Boba’s chilling (though somewhat put off by, y’know, the presence of a whole kindergarten-aged child) and trying to figure out who this kid belongs to so he can return them. Calling up Mando like “Hey you’ve got a kid, right? Can I pay you to watch this one until I figure out where she goes?” And Mando’s like “uh well ordinarily yes but I AM on a job right now and also Bo-Katan is still trying to kill me. Also why do you have a kid? Do I congratulate you or what’s the deal”
So Boba’s stuck with her because he doesn’t know who else he would trust this kid to besides Fennec, who is at the moment holding down the fort on Tatooine which is just where he would be staying with the kid anyway if he went there. Jaina chattering away and asking questions about the ship, poking through stuff she shouldn’t. Fett realizing he should probably lock the weapon’s locker just in case and will you please get down from there, you’re messing up my ship
Anyway. Adventure shenanigans, Fett eventually coming around to the kid’s charm and tenacity, either going back to his base of operations to do some research and stock up on supplies (meaning Jaina’s there on Tatooine getting a front row view of said wretched hive of scum and villainy, oh hey is that a rancor—?), or him sticking it out while he’s on the road because he was already out running errands, killing people and getting work done, the kid’s just gonna have to wait and tag along. What? Jango did it with him, she’ll be fine.
Either option has great story and character opportunities whether they’re on Tatooine or out exploring in the greater galaxy. Boba ends up figuring out who she is (because of course he does, he’s one of the greatest bounty hunters who ever lived) and Han figures out who now has her, inevitably leading to the collision course these two were on from the start
#Star Wars AU#Jaina Solo#Han Solo#Boba Fett#hounds speaks#The Book of Boba Fett#<- Ideas and material categorized by era#although I suppose this could just be the nebulous New Republic era#Hmm we’ll see if I end up throwing more spaghetti at the wall for one-off ideas during this time period#my writing#long post#Though tbh it should be Jaina Organa here since my hc is that Han took Leia’s surname when they got married#Star Wars EU#Legends/EU

How I would Fix the Star Wars Sequels [Part 2]
[Part 1]
https://www.tumblr.com/cheemscakecat/772997599715360769/how-i-would-fix-the-star-wars-sequels?source=share
6. Han didn’t abandon Leia and the fight.
Politics were never Solo’s cup of tea. They were boring, complicated, and it took forever to get things done. And he missed his adrenaline rushes from smuggling.
He had already gotten arrested more than once trying to enjoy harmless crimes like the good old days. To the annoyance of Leia, but it didn’t do any damage to her political career. So he kept getting in trouble.
When Kylo Ren disappeared, everyone was devastated. Han wished he had spent his time sneaking off to Luke’s order to visit. Maybe things would have been different, maybe Kylo wouldn’t have been lured away by Palpatine.
He didn’t blame Luke; he was trying to look after dozens of people at once, he couldn’t watch Kylo Ren every waking moment. That didn’t mean the kid wasn’t beating himself up about it though. Luke was searching to the point of collapse, even with him and Leia trying to tell him no hard feelings.
Han joined the Jedi and republic troops in looking for his son. He knew hidden routes and dark corners of the galaxy, places where Palpatine might be hiding Kylo. And old contacts who might just know something.
Good news? The Republic troops didn’t go with him and Chewie. Solo knew they’d just dig up dirt and alert every criminal in the galaxy; that would change the routes and alert Palpatine and his crew.
Bad news? Luke couldn’t go with him on these missions. Not just because splitting up let them cover more ground, but because that ancient monster Palpatine had convinced Kylo that Luke was bloodthirsty. If the boy saw them together, he’d probably think Han was in agreement with killing him.
Would his son listen to him? The odds were very low, especially as time went on, but Han was known for his stupidly good luck.
When the search was called off and the Emperor’s rebellion began, him and Leia tried to go through legal channels to deal with it. Solo was on his best behavior, trying to hide his frustration with the slow political machine and stay upbeat for his wife. He didn’t sneak around anymore.
Two years passed and Leia got fed up with the Republic’s attempts to stop the Emperor. She’d fought most of her life to establish a good government, and now that government was in an endless loop of trying to stop more and more uprisings from Palpatine.
Luke had been exiled despite her best efforts to defend him, he wasn’t able to come back because the other senators wasted resources attacking him, Kylo was still missing and most likely getting brainwashed.
So she made up her mind. By the book wasn’t enough, the small rebellions were fast and spread out, too much for Republic troops to deal with. But someone working outside the law to help? That was exactly what they needed.
She needed him, Chewie, Lando, and any other friends from the criminal network. They needed to disrupt Palpatine’s forces and supply chains. They needed to smuggle weapons and med kits and rations and people to Jedi and other allies,
Han didn’t expect that. He had vowed not to commit anymore crimes after Kylo disappeared… but these weren’t crimes for the sake of the thrill, were they? It would be putting those skills to use for good, like he did in the rebellion days.
He could do that. Chewbacca agreed pretty quickly, once he confirmed Leia was okay with them getting back out there. Lando and other contacts were fed up with the Emperor’s rebels themselves. It wasn’t hard to amass help in the criminal world.
7. The Smuggler’s duties.
Palpatine wasted no time amassing followers for his personal rebellion against good.
There were bounty hunters who resented the Republic for making new jobs scarce. Gangsters and slavers and the like despised the crackdowns on their operations.
Ex-Imperials who missed their wages and their authority, running from justice returned to the Emperor’s ghost. Scrum who didn’t understand one way or the other, too. The worst the galaxy had to offer, the ones who operated outside of “honor among thieves”
In Han’s experience, the criminals with some semblance of honor were pro-Republic. He was able to recruit more than expected. Then again, some had turned to crime because of the Empire causing poverty and killing random civilians who questioned them.
It was the Smugglers’ job to get things done in ways bureaucrats couldn’t. There were people fighting against Palpatine’s forces all over the galaxy. Those friends needed funds, and food, and medicine, and firepower.
Sometimes these supplies were donated, (Leia wasn’t the only Senator who wanted to send help); other times they were stolen from the Imperial rebellions. It was satisfying to raid a ship carrying Palpatine’s stuff; it meant setbacks for that ghoul, and relief for someone who needed it.
Han and the Smugglers weren’t just raiding supply transport for the rebellions, they were fighting in battles too. They were backup, live warm bodies for the folks who were growing tired from defending their cities.
Smugglers were all manner of skilled criminals and mercenaries. But sometimes their friends needed a different set of skills. Jedi.
Luke’s Order didn’t really die off when he got exiled, it just got scattered and regrouped. Not that the Emperor wasn’t trying to kill them off. Han and Chewie had to face many experienced Bounty Hunters and Assassins that were sent after Jedi. It helped that the new Jedi were competent and well taught.
Jedi often went to join fights or into new hiding places. Sometimes they wanted help getting to some hidden planet Luke was hanging out on. Han couldn’t navigate to all of those places; Force mumbo jumbo still wasn’t his area of expertise.
But these force sensitives were good at telling him when they were close. They knew how to get themselves there once he parked them on the nearest moon or planet. Solo appreciated having them around to give him a heads up when someone was trying to ambush.
8. Not just Scum
Chenbelech was another Wookie from the Rebel alliance days. He was a bounty hunter known for “killing”, who used to move the target rebels to safety. He and his apprentice turned partner were perfect for helping with the present problem.
Chenbelech found something. Children. They had raided a transport tied to the Imperial rebels, expecting the passengers to be rebels or dangerous creatures.
Palpatine didn’t just take Kylo away. He was actively kidnapping other kids to brainwash them into his rebellions. It turned Han’s stomach in a way he’d never experienced before. It.. made sense in a twisted way. Maybe he had just been willfully ignorant, trying not to think about the worst case scenarios for Kylo Ren.
Han wasn’t cut out for unbrainwashing these kids, but he knew people who were. Jedi would take in kids who weren’t force sensitive sometimes. Other Smugglers had a soft spot for children, especially the ones raised as child soldiers or slaves or gladiators or gang members.
It hurt too much to find out how many lies they believed. He needed to believe he could reason with Kylo, and getting discouraged by the most stubborn brainwashed child would hamper that.
Or maybe it hurt too much to become a surrogate parent, when he had failed his own son and not made it right yet.
9. Little upstart
Chewie smelled someone holed up in the Millennium Falcon’s compartments. Two human someones. So he and Han went to investigate.
There was a young guy who looked terrified out of his mind. Said his name was Finn? Solo couldn’t help but be reminded of Luke, since the kid used to wear his heart on his sleeve. So did Kylo Ren, once.
This boy wasn’t nearly as talkative though. He’d seen some things, you could tell from the look in his eyes and the way he peered around. Jumpy. Han pitied him.
The girl, Rey, was cynical and stubborn and closed off. Boy, she thought she knew everything. It almost reminded him of Leia, except Leia knew what she was talking about.
Luke was idealistic but so earnest you couldn’t hold it against him. Rey? She was infuriatingly jaded about the Republic and Jedi, not having the foggiest idea how hard those people worked.
Han was like that too, a long time ago. But he never claimed to be moral. He was a smuggler, a criminal, a sleazy low life. Rey thought she was always in the right, the moral authority. Solo kept butting heads with her.
“No you can’t drive the Falcon, this ship is 90 years old!”
“Like you?”
Solo shoved her out of the pilot’s seat and sat down, flipping all the well worn switches as he did. “Ugh, Rude!” She whined.
”We’re on a time crunch, get over it.” He said deadpan, ignoring the memory of Luke calling him out for saying Ben was an “old fossil”. Han surely didn’t look that old. Chewie was trying his best not to laugh at them both.
#star wars rewrite#star wars sequel trilogy#rewrite#Han solo#leia organa#original trilogy#Luke Skywalker#Chewbacca#lando calrissian#finn star wars#Rey Star Wars#Han didn’t push her that hard btw. They were trying to get away from enemies shooting at the Falcon.#Like girl get out of my chair. Now is not the time to try me.

Day 31 - Life Day Damerey Celebration
Prompt: Free Day
Summary: The first part of The Rise of Skywalker from the Kinetic universe POV.
Notes: The prompt for this day was Free Day, but I felt I needed an actual prompt to get this one going. When I complained to a coworker, she suggested writing an epic fight between my couple. Well, I'm not great at writing believable arguments, so I decided to work with the actual epic fight between Poe and Rey from The Rise of Skywalker. Once I decided on that, and how I would have them make up, I decided to set this one in my Canon Divergent world of Kinetic. Enjoy.

“Rey! Falcon’s back!”
Nimi’s shout made Rey’s head jerk up. She had been trying to read, but had not been having much success. Her brain was just too full already. Thoughts of the vision she had earlier on the training course, her frustration with her lack of progress in meditation, her fear that her power was more than she could control, and of course, always in the back of her mind, thoughts about the men she loved and currently worried about.
She closed the book and jumped up, then ran down the short wooden staircase that had been built that led to Leia’s private chambers. Rey had lived with her there until a few months ago, when she had moved in with Poe, but she still spent a great deal of her time studying in the relaxing space.
She rushed out of the cavern and toward the clearing where the Millennium Falcon was usually docked, spotting BB-8 out of the corner of her eye as the droid followed her from his station at the foot of the stairs. Fire crews were rushing toward the ship, and Rey felt her breath catch as panic filled her. But no, she thought. If something had happened to her friends, she would have known. Finn and Chewie were like family to her, and she could recognize their imprints in the Force easily. And as for the other one…
He was stalking toward her right now, his whole body radiating tension. She could feel the residual adrenaline flowing out through his Force essence, the fear and excitement of a close escape not quite gone despite the fact that he was now safe.
“It’s on fire,” he grumbled toward the crew rushing past him. BB-8 twittered an exclamation. "Whole thing’s on fire. All of it. It’s on fire.” Poe’s voice got more and more disgruntled sounding as he headed toward Rey.
“Hey,” Rey said as he got closer. She scanned his form with her eyes, reassured that he wasn’t hurt, then she glanced at the Falcon again, wondering how in the galaxy she had come back like that.
“Hey!” Poe said in return. She wanted to rush him and give him a hug, but the anger on his face and the tautness of his body held her back. He continued to march toward her. “Really could have used your help out there,” he said, frustration filling his voice. He had argued with both her and Leia more than once that Rey would benefit them more by helping on missions, but after their adventure on Soelea Leia rarely let her leave the planet.
“How did it go?” Rey asked, more than a little wary of Poe’s attitude.
“Really bad, actually,” Poe told her. “Really bad.”
Rey looked back over at the Falcon. “Han’s ship…” she started.
Poe, meanwhile, had noticed BB-8 behind her. “What’d you do the droid?” he asked in disbelief.
Rey’s wariness was turning into anger as she glanced back at BB-8. She looked back at Poe. “What’d you do to the Falcon?” she countered.
“The Falcon’s in a lot better shape than he is!”
Rey waved toward the ship. “BB-8’s not on fire!”
“What’s left of him isn’t on fire,” Poe growled.
Rey barely prevented herself from rolling her eyes. “Tell me what happened,” she demanded.
“You tell me first.”
Stubborn, stubborn man. She smirked. “You know what you are?”
“What?”
“You’re difficult,” she answered. “Really difficult.” There were so many other words she could have chosen at that moment, but she was determined to keep her cool. “You’re a difficult man.”
She could see Poe’s eyes light up and recognized the look. He was arguing with her because it was the only way he could release the pent-up anxiety of the near-death experience he had just been through. He was arguing with her because he wanted to do something else to her, but couldn’t at the moment. But oh, the look he gave her as he responded, “You… you are…” He shook his head and bit his lip in frustration.
She wanted to jump him then and there.
“Rey!” Finn’s voice, thank the Force, distracted her.
“Finn!” She moved past Poe as he kneeled next to his droid, meeting Finn and finally getting the hug she had been looking for. Best friend versus lover. Seriously.
“You made it back!”
“Yeah,” Finn answered as he enveloped her in his arms. “Barely.”
Rey pulled back. “So. Bad mood?”
“Me?” Finn looked startled.
Rey used her thumb to point back at Poe. “Him.”
Finn scoffed. “Always.”
Rey glanced back at Poe, who was still inspecting BB-8, then looked at Finn. “Do we have a spy?”
As Finn started to answer, Chewie shouted at her from the Falcon, his arms high. He was obviously angry, and Rey understood why.
She turned back toward Poe. “You lightspeed skipped?” she asked, dumbfounded.
Poe had also heard Chewie’s complaint. “Yeah, well, it got us back here, didn’t it?” he defended.
Rey stalked over to him, fear and anger overwhelming her. “Poe! The compressor’s down!”
“Oh, I know!” Poe said sarcastically. “I was there!”
Finn followed Rey, but she ignored him as he mumbled, “Every time.”
“You can’t lightspeed skip the Falcon!” Not only was it dangerous in a sound ship, something so demanding could rip apart an older ship like the Falcon, even if her pilot got all on-the-spot calculations correct.
Poe popped up from his kneeling position, his expression hard. He shrugged, his reply quick and biting. “Actually, it turns out you can! So…”
Finn, trying to keep the peace, as he so often did when Rey and Poe started bickering, said, “All right, guys. We just landed, okay?” He was defending Poe’s actions by essentially reminding Rey they could be dead, but weren’t.
Poe set off, stalking past them and heading toward command. Rey wasn’t going to let him go that easily.
“What happened?” she demanded.
“Bad news, that’s what happened.” Poe answered while still walking.
“No spy?” Rey asked, trying to fill in the blanks.
“No. Spy.”
Poe’s caustic echo of her words just pissed her off even more. “Did we make contact with a spy or not?”
Finn, bless his heart, answered her. “There’s a mole in the First Order, and they sent us a message.”
As he spoke, BB-8, who had been racing alongside them, chirped at Poe. Rey stopped short as Poe spun around to glare at her.
“You dropped a tree on him?” His voice was deceptively calm.
Remembering what else Chewie had been shouting earlier as he circled the ship, Rey countered, “You blew both sub-alternators?”
“Well, you know what?” Poe exclaimed, calm no more. “Maybe you should’ve been out there with us!”
Finn immediately tried to stop what he could see was about to become a conflagration. “Okay, guys!”
Rey heard him, but ignored him, focused on the impossible man in front of her. “You know I want to be out there with you!”
“Yeah, but you’re not! You’re here. Training. For what?” He paused for a moment, his expression turning from angry to earnest. Finn had moved over to stand next to him, and he was giving Rey the same expression as Poe. “You’re the best fighter we have,” Poe continued. He glanced at Finn. “We need you! Out there! Not here!” He turned, heading determinedly toward Aftab Ackbar. “Junior. Get R2 into recondition.”
Rey watched him go, not sure what to say. She looked at Finn, who was watching her intently. “It’s true,” he said softly.
Rey had always felt she could better help the Resistance out in the field, but she had never argued much when Leia insisted she stay behind. More than once, Rey had reminded Poe that she would have to face Kylo Ren again, and that she needed to be ready, but he had always disregarded her excuses, telling her she would never need to face that man again, that the Resistance would win the war and take away his power without her having to personally involve herself with the man formerly known as Ben Solo.
Rey knew Leia was also using Rey’s training as an excuse. She was afraid to lose her, whether by death or to the Dark Side. The older woman had become like a mother to her, and she knew Leia loved her as well. Maybe too much, if her overprotectiveness was any indication.
Pushing away those thought, Rey focused on Finn once more. “What’s the message?”
Palpatine. Exegol. A super fleet ready to take over the galaxy. It was the stuff of nightmares.
Once Rey had spoken with Leia, letting her know she was not going to stay out of the fight any longer, she headed back out to help Chewie repair the Falcon. Fortunately, most of the damage was minor, and Chewie had it well in hand. As Rey helped him finish up, she was reminded how the ship had been damaged, and felt a certain amount of awe that Poe had successfully lightspeed skipped the old freighter. If he wasn’t careful, he would let everyone else in on the fact that he had more than a little sensitivity to the Force.
It was well after midnight when Chewie announced the ship ready to go. They could fuel it up in the morning and then Rey could be on her way to find Exegol. He gave her a strange look while he said it, and Rey suspected that he was going to attempt to come with her, but that was a problem for the morning.
Rey headed for her quarters, which were located in the relatively new dormitory building they had put up just two months ago. Though the tent she had been living in had been comfortable, there was more room in the dorm. Not to mention thicker walls for privacy.
Rey walked up to the door of her room and paused, knowing what she would find on the other side. She hadn’t spoken directly to Poe since their argument, and now she would have to tell him she was finally heading out on a mission, but that he couldn’t come. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door.
She was wrong. She was surprised. Leia was there, her face serious as she and Poe both turned to look at her. Poe’s face was set in stone, as it had been most of the night. Leia glanced at her second-in-command, then stood from the chair she had been sitting in, cane in hand. She headed for the door, gripping Rey’s shoulder gently as she passed. “Get some sleep,” she whispered. Then she was gone.
Rey looked at Poe as he sat on the edge of their bed, knowing Leia had been telling him what Rey’s plans were. Now she would have to defend her belief that she needed to go alone.
“So, you got her up and running?” Poe asked. “The compressor’s fixed?”
Rey nodded. “Chewie had it almost all done when I got there tonight.” She stepped further into the room, her arms crossed over her chest. “Leia told you my plans?” she asked, wanting confirmation before continuing.
Poe nodded. “You’re going to look for Exegol.” His voice was monotone.
Rey licked her lips. “You were right before. I’m needed more out there than here.” She walked over to the chair, but didn’t sit. “I’m going to pick up where Luke’s trail went cold, the Forbidden Desert of Pasaana.”
“I know,” Poe nodded. “Finn and I are going to go with you.”
“No!” Rey dropped her arms. “It’s too dangerous! I need to go alone!”
“Yeah, alone with us,” Poe said agreeably. There was a slight smirk on his face, and his eyes were bright with challenge.
“Poe!”
“Rey!”
They stared silently at each other for a long moment before Poe finally spoke. “We go together,” he said firmly. “You know Chewie is going to demand to go, as well. We’ll take Threepio, and of course BB-8.”
BB-8, who had been silently observing them from his charging station, squealed an affirmative.
Rey felt tears form in her eyes. She didn’t want them to go. She didn’t want them to die. But at the same time, the relief she felt at not having to do this alone overwhelmed her. “I can’t lose you, Poe,” she whispered.
“And I can’t lose you,” he told her softly. “We work better together. You know it and I know it. With Finn and Chewie, we are unstoppable.” He lifted his arms, holding out his hands. “Come here.”
Rey reached for his hands and as soon as they connected, he pulled her into him, spreading his legs so she could stand in between them. He wrapped his arms around her waist and burrowed his face in her belly just below her ribs. Rey’s fingers were automatically drawn to his hair and she closed her eyes, letting her finger run through his thick curls.
“I’m sorry about BB-8,” Rey muttered. “I was on the training course and was hit with a vision from Ren. I just started swinging the saber, not really paying attention. I was trying to kill him through the remote.” She paused. “I wish it were that easy.”
“What did he make you see?” Poe mumbled into her belly.
“It doesn’t matter,” Rey told him, unwilling to let him see the darkness inside her. “You know my visions more often than not don’t come true.”
“But he was pushing you into this one, wasn’t he?” Poe pulled back, looking up a her, his expression concerned.
“That makes it even less likely to come true, doesn’t it?” Rey asked. “He doesn’t really know me. I’ve never let him see me like you do.”
Poe looked at her for a moment, then nodded and swallowed. “I’m sorry about the Falcon,” he said with a raised eyebrow. “If you had been there, maybe you would have chosen a less dangerous way out.”
Rey snorted a laugh. “I doubt it,” she argued. “I think you did what you had to do to keep all of you safe, and you succeeded. I’m sorry for getting so upset about it.” She shook her head. “As much as I hate to admit it, you are the better pilot.”
“Ooooh!” Poe exclaimed. “Can you say that in front of the whole squadron tomorrow?” he teased.
She laughed, tugging his hair slightly. “Never,” she told him.
Poe chuckled, then let his hands slide down her backside, cupping her ass. “We should probably get some sleep before we leave,” he told her. “We’ve got a long road ahead of us.”
“And not much privacy,” Rey added, continuing to play with his hair.
“Rey…” Poe said in warning.
She tilted her head as she looked down at him. “What?” she asked innocently. She backed away from him and started unbuckling her holster and belt. “You haven’t cleaned up since you got back, have you?” she continued. “We have to shower before we go to bed.” She pulled her wraps off, then slid the cream collared tunic, the one Poe had gotten her on Soelea, up and off her body. She watched as his eyes dropped to her now bare torso, his eyes focusing first on the ring hanging from its chain around her neck, then on the breasts that the ring dangled between.
As Rey toed off her boots, Poe’s eyes rose back up to meet hers. She smiled as she saw his pupils already dilated. “Hurry up, Commander,” she said huskily as she pulled off her leggings and underwear, then turned toward their tiny fresher.
Reaching for the buttons on his shirt, Poe smirked.
“Yes, ma’am.”
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Finnrey! I ship the Bffs while I Reylo. TROS
When starting this post I was very curious as to what happened between FinnRey between The Last Jedi and TROS. I had to do some research into the books that were released during that gap.
I didn't like TROS, but one aspect I did like was seeing FinnRey again and the scenes they did receive warmed my heart. Now.....
Dear John Boyega - I'm not sure what you were promised, I wasn't there for pre-production conversations and I know you were a huge fan of Star Wars - however, this was never your story. This was the Skywalker + Rey story. Reylo was planned from the outset so it wasn't that. Yes, you were the first main black cast member of a SW film, it doesn't mean you were the most important character though.
Yes, Adam Driver is tall, dark, handsome and white... his character is also the son of Han and Leia, a Prince, he's the grandson of Anakin and Padme, the villain AND Luke's nephew and former padawan. Adam Driver is also a helluva actor. From a purely story wise perspective..... he's pretty damn important. No, you didn't sidelined due to him.
I also agree with Jason Fry, he got a fully developed story in The Last Jedi. TROS let everybody down. Ben solo was screwed, Rey was partially developed then screwed, Rose (thankfully) was in two minutes, Leia (unfortunately) was limited, Poe was meh, Hux was replaced then pointlessly murdered, R2D2 was limited..... so calm down.
In the year between TLJ and TROS, The novel Resistance Reborn gives us the biggest clues into their relationship during this time, despite Rey being a side character. It's very clear from Poe and Rose that they find Rey difficult to get to know. Rose comments that she find Rey someone who seems like she's both in the present and just beyond it. Poe attempts to bond with Rey through banter about flying skills, ships or being a Jedi which Rey find mostly annoying. Rey is friendly and she's a dedicated student of the Force, but it's clear she only really has a bond with Chewie, BB8, her master Leia and of course Finn. There's a conversation between Poe and Finn aboard the Falcon regarding his relationship with Rey.
Poe: "So the two of you aren't..."
Finn: "No, nothing like that. Just friends."
Rey and Kylo are both strong in the Force, they are the light and dark sides of the same coin, but FinnRey is made of the same noble cloth. While I Reylo, I'm glad Rey was able to receive such pure friendship and love from Finn. Finn is someone she can connect to especially as she grows more distant from everyone else as a mere byproduct of fate. Finn is so excited that Rey exists, the moment he meets her he has someone he loves to fight for. Over a short time that love grows bigger than his fear of what he fled.
TROS Scenes
(This booty sticking out church hug is not my FinnRey hug)
In the movie, it's made clear that mainly Rey is training while Finn goes out on missions with Poe or Rose. While this frustrates Poe, Finn calmy agrees that they would use her. I disagree with this. While practically speaking, Finn and Rey's strengths and weaknesses complement each other, the best thing she could be doing is training.
When it's revealed that Palpatine has return (eyeroll) Rey decides to head to the desert of Pasaana to find the Sith Way finder to Exegol. While preparing to depart Rey finds that Finn, Poe, Chewie and BB8 are heading out with her. Good. FinnRey are a shockingly good team, a fact they discover within just a few minutes of meeting each other. Plus, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley are brimming with BFF energy that audience enjoys watching.
It's also great to see Finn evolve into a character more centered into himself so much so that he's the more moderating character that bind the trio of Poe, Rey, and himself together. Finn is the only character that has strong connections to everyone on screen.
There definitely seems to be an attempt to not separate Finn from Rey or vice verse but make sure his arc is balanced while still being her confidante. They don't necessarily have many moment in Pasaana where you get a sense of their mutuality. Daisy Ridley commented on the new dynamic.
"The thing for me that was always really exciting is I never felt like there was a specified sort of love that we were portraying. So the relationship between Finn, Rey and Poe in this one, I felt amazing. It's friendship, it's family, and it's just a lovely sort of thing," she shared. "I also think that's nice in a film way to not necessarily have an overt 'This is friendship. This is love.' It's just all a beautiful collection of people."
Now comes the moment when they thought they were going to perish in the sinking sands of Pasaana. Finn starts to confess something to Rey, but he only gets as far as “Rey, I never told you—” before being swallowed up by quicksand. Everyone debated what was he going to tell her. One might reasonably assume—as a significant portion of The Rise of Skywalker’s audience did—that Finn was going to tell Rey he loves her. Abrams declared that what Finn wanted to tell Rey is that he was Force-sensitive. Even after they obviously survive he still won't confide in her just yet cause Poe is this there I guess. Are you for real? Why is this played like some kind of mysterious I've waiting to tell you kind of thing? It's been obvious for two movies - now three movie - can we get this show on the road? Besides, Rey already knows he's force-sensitve.
I think more importantly - this was a missed opportunity to show Rey be there for Finn. Finn could've been developed to show how he feels about anything and Rey could've been there to emotionally support him. When they are safe underground she does ask what he was going to tell her, he's uncomfortable telling her with Poe there - still, this moment needed to have happened.
Now there are some great moments of Finn just checking on Rey or being aware of her safety. When she walks out into desert it's because both she knows Kylo Ren is coming, when Finn realizes this he goes to join her.
There real moment of glory is after she thinks she kills Chewie in a moment of tug-o-war with Kylo Ren. Lightning came out her fingers, shocking her and everyone else. Finn is wonderful in this scene. Showing compassion for where she was at emotionally. Not only did he seek her out alone to reassure her that what had happened wasn't her fault, but he also rallied more support with Poe. It also provided a moment for her to express feelings and emotions she had been hiding inside herself. Over the past year she had been having dark visions and voices inside her head. Finn isn't afraid of her, but he is afraid for her.
Rey : I lost control.
Finn : It wasn't your fault.
Rey : It was.
Finn : No. It was Ren. He made you do it.
Rey : Chewie's gone. That power came from me. Finn, there are things you don't know.
Finn : Then tell me.[pause]
Rey : I, uh, had a vision. Of the Sith throne. And who was on it.
Finn : Ren?
Rey : [shaking voice] And me.
youtube
The fact that he is also a Force User and could sense what was happening with her just cemented the bond that they already have. He’s going to be able to understand things about her that others cannot. Finn was the person Rey could talk to and trust he would listen and care. He didn’t hold things against her, he had her back 100%. He cried for her. He verbally affirmed her. They spoke in a raw and honest way with each other that was beautiful. Finn absolutely has faith in Rey.
On Kijimi, there are just nice moments of togetherness. You can tell Finn is staying close to Rey as a source of support and just keeping an eye out for her. When Ren's destroyer arrives and Rey begins to go outside, Finn's right there watching her back.
After Rey's interaction with Kylo when Kylo reveals to her not only that they form a dyad in the force, but that she's a Palpatine this is revealed in the novel. In this moment she's tempted once more to join Kylo Ren in the gray or in the dark. Then Finn appears. In the novel, "Suddenly she felt a weight at her back and along with it.....Finn, a bright light piercing the dark......"Come on!" yelled Finn. She sprinted for the edge then launched herself toward the Falcon. Finn grabbed her arm before she could sail by and swung her onto the ramp. They sprinted into the Falcon's belly. The ramp rose closing them in."
Rey tells Finn “People keep telling me they know me. I’m afraid no one does.” Her internal battle became overshadowed by this massive legacy thrust upon her. She's exhausted and isn't pure Jedi. Part of Rey's arc is she's got darkness in her and she knows it. Once again Finn is just present for her in whatever that means while she tinkers with repairs.
Something that isn't given any time or attention is that Finn is pure white light to Rey. Finn is Rey's greatest pull to the light. He also tells Poe that he and Leia can understand Rey’s struggle in a way Poe cannot. This isn't just Finn running after Rey. He's aware of his friends struggles and trying to stop her from leaning towards the dark side.
Poe Dameron : [after Rey heads to the Death Star wreckage alone] What the hell was she thinking?
Finn : Poe, we gotta go after her.
Poe Dameron : We'll get the Falcon fixed, and get out there as fast as we can
Finn : No, we're gonna lose her.
Poe Dameron : Look, she left us! What do you wanna do? Swim?Finn : She's not herself. You have no idea what she's fighting.
Poe Dameron : And you do?
Finn : Yeah, I do. And so does Leia.
Poe Dameron : Well, I'm not Leia
.Finn : That's for damn sure.
When she's fighting Kylo Ren Rey is out of control. She's dominated by rage and frustration. In the novel, "A presence cut through her awareness - shining and bright and a voice screaming, "Rey!" Finn was running toward her, leaving Jannah behind to watch their skimmer. Rey's instinct to protect Finn was overwhelming. With no thought at all she called on the Force and thrust out with her hand. He flew backward toward Jannah toward the edge of bridge wreck. A wave crashed down on the streach of bridge between them.
Finn : The Force. The Force brought me here. It brought me to Rey. And Poe.
I really love that Finn became a General alongside Poe and I think one of their best scenes together is when they gave a speech to the members of the Resistance.
Now it is implied that this is both Rey's workstation AND Rey/Finn's bedroom. I cannot confirm and this might just be me, but there we go.
Finn: Hey, don't touch that. That's my friend's.
Droid. Sorry, she is gone?
Finn: Yeah, she's gone. I don't know where.
Droid: I miss her.
Finn: I miss her, too.
I loved the moment when he sensed her death. The confirmation of his Force-sensitive instincts was so satisfying. And then his joy when he saw her alive was completely consistent with everything Finn has done with Rey since the moment they first met.
John Boyega, Finn's actor, was once asked whom he would like to see Finn end up with between Rey and Rose and he replied, "[Finn] had this kind of banterous relationship with Han, then he has this loving relationship with Rey. Now with Rose, it feels like he has this great relationship. Personally? Rey. Yeah, Rey."

What's your favourite scene from "Reconstitution" + a fun fact about it, if you have any?
Thanks for the questions! It’s hard for me to pick a favorite scene from Reconstitution because I really like all of them? I think either the reflection about Leia not having children or the painting class are probably my favorites? But I like several others as well.
One fun fact is that I liked the bit where Leia looked for Han’s boots first when he and Chewie returned from missions because “Boots coming down the Falcon’s ramp meant you were walking, and you couldn’t be hurt too badly if you were walking on your own” so much, I ended up integrating it into Purpose of Heritage with no real intent to make them a part of the same universe. I just liked the idea.
Also, I don’t know if this is really a fun fact, but I have always felt like I could have worded the bit toward the end about reconstituted caf better, but I was never able to come up with the right series of words, so I went ahead and posted the story. But I still wonder if I could have worded that section in a way that flowed better.
Ask me fic questions!

How about mand'alore!din meet with amnesia!Luke?
I mean, that would be an epic encounter.
After 2 years Luke returned Grogu to his father, he got a mission from new republic to patrol the border of mandalorian space, that already claimed by mando'ade. And his ship was shot down, Because it is considered as an intruder. After his ship was found and recovered, some Mando know that the ship was piloted by former rebellion commander, the Jedi master, Luke Skywalker, that saved their life in Gideon star destroyer 4 years earlier (you know, the rescue episode).
Well, well, well.
Of course they are not going to kill him, even their kind was ancient enemy. They owe their lives to Luke. So, life for life. They will safe his life, for their life debt ( i like the life debt system that connects between Han and chewie)
Suprise
Luke doesn't remember anything for the last 14 years or so. The last thing he remembers was his uncle and him fight over flight academy resume.
So much aaaaangst potential and so much potential for Din's caretaker kink to flourish! Because this is Luke without memory of his training but his body in prime condition and overflowing with power. Of Luke who has scars and flashes of absolute agony and horrible nightmarish images but can't really understand them or fight them; he's a nineteen-year-old at the moment. Of him losing all of his calm confidence and floundering about with awkward attempts of arrogance that usually ends up with him embarrassing himself.
And then him having to relearn all the truths, all the horrors, all the loneliness and it just not really click and Din is jus going to be there to support and comfort him and ensure he is taken care of and safe while things are figured out.
Because not only is it heartbreaking...it is dangerous. Too many people would be after Luke like this and Din would need to ensure he stays out of sight for now until he is safe and/or can protect himself.
And if he falls in loves some more on the way...well, whoops.

@sgterso moved & cont. from [ x ]
as soon as she knocks on his door, she regrets it, the memories of a past she’s done her best to push behind her making their way out of the cave in her mind and coming to the forefront of her brain. the cold rain beats down on her already battered body, a sharp chill that settles deep in her bones. her hands clench into fists, nails biting into the meat of her palms ; after a few seconds, she debates spinning on her heel and turning away, fbi surveillance in her apartment be damned, but then han opens the door and she’s frozen in place.
he looks…good. she drinks in the sight of him after three or so years of not seeing him, eyes tracking the lines of his face, his expression. he looks different, yes, but good. it’s a sharp contrast from her own doleful appearance –– she barely recognizes herself in the mirror, so much so that she makes a point to avoid looking.
“ i didn’t have anywhere else to go. “ she feels a strange need to justify herself in front of him but stars, she sounds pathetic when she says it like that, even more so because it’s not entirely true. she could go back to her apartment but she doesn’t want any eyes on her right now. though she’s found most, if not all, of the bugs in her apartment, she can’t risk removing them and breaking her contract. even the thought of going back to wobani has dread curling in her stomach so she’s been on her best behavior these past few months.
( and, despite not being privy to what han’s been up to these past few years, she’s always felt safe around him. )
she stumbles as he yanks her into the apartment, her usual grace gone due to her exhaustion and minor injuries. she stands in his front hallway awkwardly as he locks back up and runs off to grab towels. at the sound of chewie’s howls in the bedroom, her lips curl up in a fond half-smile ; it’s much easier to admit that she’d missed the dog than…
when he returns, she accepts the towels with a muttered thanks, teeth clenched to ward off their clattering. she remembers where the bathroom is without having to ask, shutting the door behind her and immediately exhaling when she’s alone. she’s grateful that he’d let her in, grateful that he hadn’t turned her away despite the late hour and the history between them, but this is all a bit too much. she needs a few minutes to compose herself, to get her thoughts in order.
she strips off her wet clothes and turns on the shower. as she waits for the water to heat up, she examines her scarred skin the mirror. there’s a nasty purple bruise climbing up her side but she doesn’t feel any broken ribs. aside from a few minor abrasions on her knuckles and hands, she’d managed to come out of the last mission relatively unscathed. that’s more than she can say for some of her team members but she refuses to think about it as she gets under the scalding hot water, staying still until her skin becomes a blistering red.
once she’s done, she clambers out and wraps herself up in towels. though han’s seen more of her bare skin than most, it’s been about three years since those days. she’s changed, more than just the dozens of new scars on her body. instead, she calls through the door, hoping she isn’t pushing her luck too far, “ d’you mind if i borrow those clothes now ? ”
𝙹𝙰𝙼𝙼𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝙿𝙷𝙾𝙽𝙴 𝙸𝙽𝚃𝙾 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙱𝙰𝙲𝙺 𝙿𝙾𝙲𝙺𝙴𝚃 𝙾𝙵 𝙷𝙸𝚂 𝚂𝚆𝙴𝙰𝚃𝚂 , solo heaved out a sigh before squinting down at the mess he’d made of his bedroom dresser. he’d yanked open each drawer in search of what he once considered an everyday necessity, now turned contingency plan for a life he’d left behind. yet, it wasn’t in the dresser. rummaging through the bedroom and hallway closet had been a waste of time, and there was no way he would ever keep it inside his safe, locked behind a combination dial and key. so where the hell had he put it? not too long ago, he’d pulled it out of a storage box, held it in both hands and wondered again where the time had gone.
han’s attention wandered across the bedroom floor and touched down on chewie, who had yet to budge an inch from where he lay on his massive bed. ❝y’know i’d carry her in here myself if i could.❞ in truth, han wouldn’t, even if he had the chance. the passage of time erecting new barriers was partly to blame, but it was jyn’s rather hasty retreat to the bathroom that troubled him more than he’d like to admit.
was she injured? he couldn’t recall spotting any blood on the floor, only water pooling everywhere, and he had been mindful enough to notice that her gait showed no signs of faltering. the hallway connecting the den to the bedroom and the only bathroom was absent of a light fixture, and switching on the lights in the den had been the last thing on his mind when he made for the door.
❝awh hell, don’t gimme that look.❞ han crossed the room to ruffle his boy’s fluffy head, which did little to appease as chewie only started whining and twitching in place, no doubt responding to the familiar old scent lingering on his best friend. ❝she’s in the shower, so just give it a second,❞ he murmured softly, recognizing a pout when he saw one. when chewie offered nothing but a pointed snort, han paused, noting the silence of the apartment. before he could turn toward the bathroom, the muted roar of water started up and began rumbling through the pipes in the walls.
the furball released another chuff, a bit more emphatic this time. ❝yeah, yeah, i hear ya.❞ grimacing, han hoisted himself up off the floor to serve both the gutted dresser and disheveled closet an incisive glare. both hands on his hips, he looked around aimlessly. it wouldn’t be long before jyn would be out and… he dove for the nightstand. it housed his weapon of choice, a heavily modified mauser C96 that no longer left the apartment tucked into the back of his jeans. life had changed significantly in the past ten years, but han would sooner throw out his bed than ever sleep a wink without his trusted pistol stashed within reach. alongside it were a few trinkets kept out of nostalgia, useless knickknacks some inane part of him couldn’t seem to part with.
at the sound of jyn’s voice, han scooped up the drawer’s contents, then grabbed the clothes he had laid out on the bed. this wasn’t ideal, but jyn had changed little in the past three years. she barely came up to his shoulders.
❝got a few choices,❞ he said once at the doorway, head cocked in the opposite direction as he blindly offered an old baggy t-shirt full of holes, one she had stolen more than once, and a nicer pair of athletic shorts with a drawstring. it took him a few attempts to get it right, and there was the very real possibility of this backfiring and annoying her, but han knew the world in which they came from, and a throbbing knuckle was a small price to pay for showing a woman respect.
❝under the shirt’s some of your old clothes,❞ han added, clearing his throat with a hint of awkwardness, though his posture remained firm. ❝lucky you i forgot t’throw them out.❞
#sgterso#( . i sWEAr han wasn't being creepy about it#( . he kept it bc he was like 'what if she comes back for it' & 'what if she kicks my ass for throwing it out'#( . can't forget this man's sense of self-preservation#˒・*。◞ 013 : ( verse ) ᴍᴏᴅᴇʀɴ. *・゚✧ ⎸ ɪᴛ’s ɴᴏᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ʏᴇᴀʀs‚ ɪᴛ’s ᴛʜᴇ ᴍɪʟᴇᴀɢᴇ.#( . also jyn being HALF han's size will never not be hilarious#long post | novella thread

I'm listening to franscesca and it is so Hope and Poe coded, especially after she's captured and turns to the dark side. I've still got like a million planned chapters until that arc but damn... hozier knows what's up.
When that part of you was ripped away A grip taking hold Like a cancer that grows Each piece of your body that it takes
Though I know my heart would break
I'll tell them put me back in it Darling, I would do it again If I could hold you for a minute
i have an excerpt written for later in the story where they meet on the battlefield, she's a double agent at that point, working with the first order to get the intel she needs to bring them down, but he doesn't know it. He believes she's betrayed him and the Resistance whilst she's been faking every step to try to get the plans to Starkiller. Going as far as to refuse to return to the Resistance even when she had the chance to escape with Poe in order to gain Hux's trust and leaving Poe utterly heartbroken. She's out of her mind delusional and using the dark side, but believes that everything she's doing is worth it to destroy the First Order.
(Ben's extremely pissed that turning her to the dark side only made her direct that anger towards the First Order and not the Resistance, but he's not going to admit his failure to anyone)
They fight in the field as the first order starts coming the city and it gets to the point where her and Poe have to take refuge, Poe grievously injured and Hope's also been shot while they wrestled over a blaster and it misfired. At this point for almost a year Leia's been out of her mind frustrated when it comes to Poe being blindly suicidal in the field trying to bring her back after she was effectively brainwashed into forgetting their relationship, or rather engagement, after she was captured. They seriously considered eloping but neither were game enough at the thought of having to go back to base and tell leia that they got married without her there after all the headaches they'd put her through.
It's the most slowburn story I've ever written, it will take a million chapters of being complete idiots before getting together, then Poe doesn't even make it a fortnight between them confessing they're in love with each other and proposing, only for everything to go to hell almost immediately after. One minute they're dancing together on Naboo and the next Hope's being framed and arrested for the jedi temples destruction and put on house arrest with Poe and Lando there as emotional support before Han, Chewie and Ben all make their dramatic entrances and they end up trapped together in one apartment. Blasters are fired and punches thrown in a re-united solo household as ben tries to convince her that he's come to clear her name, only for him to betray her and bring her to the first order.
So almost a year later Hope and Poe are having it out in this abandoned house thinking he's about to die and she's refusing to leave him "You always said you wanted to die in space. This isn’t space." And Poe makes her promise to leave him and abandon her suicide mission to kill snoke to go back to Leia and the Resistance so someone knows about starkiller.
“If you die with me then every word you’ve said about doing this for the Resistance is bullshit, and I know it’s not. I know there’s good in you.” It’s with those words I break. “I know in whatever sick and twisted way you’ve rationalised this that it's for the fight and it can’t end like this." He clutches my face with bloodied hands so I can’t look away from him. “Go home and prove me right one last time because you’re the only chance we’ve got to stop this.”
She turns back to the light and manages to heal him just enough that they can reunite with black squadron, only for her to be killed when a bomb hits whilst she's trying to save civilians. She gets to take a little walk in the world between worlds to meet Anakin whilst Poe digs her body out from beneath the rubble. Absolutely devastated and broken, the only consolation he has is that despite everyone telling him it couldn't be done he brought her back and she died saving others, that she died a Jedi and he got to hold her one last time.
Meanwhile she's telling Anakin that she made a promise and that she can't die until the fight is over and demands to be sent straight back into it knowing that she'll be tortured, knowing that the darkness isn't done with her, but she'll be damned if she breaks that promise.
As this is happening her brother shows up and finds her body. He and Poe have a very complicated history by this point in the story, Poe's shot him a few times whilst Ben knows that killing Poe and harming R2 are the two things he cannot do if he wants to not be murdered by his own sister (he learns the hard way that murdering their father is number three). Poe's going to be damned if he leaves her in the first order's hands again and is prepared to go down killing kylo ren, but she comes back.
It's a long ass road to any sense of mental stability or true reconciliation, but damn does francesca put me in my feels. Now I just have to actually write it 😭

Return of the Jedi – Lando #1 LANDO With Han Solo having been captured by the bounty hunter Boba Fett and delivered to Jabba the Hutt, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca might be his only hope. Using his knowledge of the seediest areas of the galaxy, Lando embarks on a mission that will bring them one step closer to rescuing his old friend Han. But, with Lando's past betrayal, Chewbacca's patience is running thin, and both the Empire and Lando's past seem to be getting closer by the second…. Writer: Stephanie Phillips Artist: Álvaro López Letterer: Travis Lanham Colorist: Antonio Fabela Cover artist: Ryan Brown Editor: Danny Khazem Publication date: May 3, 2023 Before diving into this review it needs to be said that if you're a fan of the Empire to jedi run of marvel comics back in 1982 - '83 and beyond, then you're going to love this comic. Bringing what feels like the most lovingly observed recreation of those now four decade old issues, Return of the Jedi – Lando #1 brings us an adventure that not only clears up the last vestiges of a long-simmering frustration for one character but brings together all the tools required to launch the final act of a redemption arc for another. Depending on your point of view, Lando Calrissian either got off lightly for what happened on Cloud City or was forced to pay penance for what was an impossible situation. For almost all of the stretch between Episodes 5 and 6, Lando has had his interigty questioned, his motives dissected and his loyalty challenged. It says much for the character that he stuck around to rescue his old friends in the face of this, when he could have made plans elsehwere to clear his conscience and rescue Han Solo, and while of course he had to do what he does, the journey to get here has been well observed. It could be easy to lean into his 'guilt', in much the same way Stormtroopers are often shown to be disposable bowling pins who couldn't hit the board side of a Star Destroyer, and here we see Lando and Chewie on Tatooine chasing down information essential to gaining access to Jabba the Hutts vast palace and saving Solo. The Klaatooinian information broker Narin wants 5000 credits to hand over the information, and as Lando bargains so Chewbacca loses his cool and grabs Narrin, infuriating him and telling Lando the deal is now for 10,000. [gallery link="file" size="large" columns="2" ids="144091,138892"] Landso is annoyed - he was haggling with Narrin, while Chewie is frustrated, and that continues as they head offworld and seek out Elocin, a blue-skinned former associate of Lando who refuses to lend him the credits, but after Chewie offers himself up as a 'prize' to be won (ten jobs as part of her crew in return for loaning Lando the funds) she agrees, and the game is started. Chewie is wise enough to know that at the sabaac table Lando is in his element, and we start a tense game with crowds watching, the final hand approaching just as Narrin and a squad of Stormtroopers tear in, marching towards Lando to arrest him. Elocin is angry, feeling that she shouldn't have trusted Lando, but as a firefight breaks out and Chewie starts throwing furniture and Stormtroopers everywhere we see their bond as Lando calls an audible, reminding Elocin of 'that time with the speeders that almost took your head off' and she ducks, as Lando barrels into an Imperial officer, smashing through a window and taking them down into a fighting pit where two huge creatures are battling. [gallery link="file" size="large" columns="2" ids="144092,144093"] Lando escapes with the help of Chewie while the officer isn't so fortunate and they escape back to the Falcon in the driving rain only to be contacted by Elocin who not only caught Nerrin but managed to get the plans for Jabba's palace out of him at zero cost to anyone. We end as Lando thanks Chewie for betting on him, and as the Falcon leaps to hyperspace Lando points out that they now have everything they need to save Han.
Super simple and huge fun, there are just enough old-school touches to harken back to those halcyon days while propelling the storytelling forward to the events of Return of the Jedi. While there are a few questionable moments (any other hero character would have decked that Imperial, but Lando - a man with some experience of decks - somehow couldn't, and breaking glass in the GFFA seems highly unlikely, especially around a pit with two huge battling beasts) this was a joy to read, and with some artistic throwbacks to Al Williamson this now makes the Return of the Jedi one-shot run three for three; let's hope Empire is as enjoyable as this has been. They Worry Over You | Star Wars
Anakin Skywalker
Ani would typically worry whenever he had to leave you alone for a long amount of time. He always had the thought in the back of his mind that you wouldn't be there when he would return, but thank kriff it's never happened.
"Y/N? I'm home!" Anakin called out, feeling intense energy as he shrugged off his brown jedi robes and boots. He heard a squeal and instantly his heart relaxed. You were safe.
"Ani! I missed you!" you called out, running into his arms. Anakin quickly caught you and spun you around before laughing along with you.
"I missed you more" he replied, then planting a long overdue kiss to your pale lips.
"Never leave again." You mumbled into his chest, feeling as his chest jumped with laughter.
"Never again my love,"
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan would worry when you would accompany him on missions. No matter how much back-up there was he could never fully focus on the target. He always found himself looking to you, making sure you were safe and unharmed. Sometimes even giving you a quick peck to reassure himself.
"Y/N! Look out!" Obi-Wan shouted towards you, but thankfully you had already seen the droid attempting to sneak up on you. Quickly blasting it/destroying it with your saber (your choice) you smiled and turned to your lover.
"I'm all right, Obi" you reassured, watching as he let out a long sigh of relief.
"Please, stay close to me from now on. Alright?" He asked, walking up to you with genuine concern on his features. You smiled again.
"Always, I never wanna be away from you."
Darth Vader
Vader would worry when you had to talk with the Emporer. He trusted the man, just not with you. He constantly tagged along even for just a quick mission report. He hated the way the Emporer looked at you, like some kind of toy.
"Vader, I'll be right back. The Emporer has requested for me," you spoke truthfully, thinking nothing of it. Vader immediately turned to you and stood, gently grabbing your arm to stop you.
"Let me go instead. I will give him the reports." Vader insisted, already stepping past you.
"Vader, he specifically requested for me. I'm not sure he would take it to well if you went in my place." Vader stopped and dwelled on the reason. The Emporer was an evil man, he would find any reason to make your life miserable.
"Fine. But I'm coming with."
Luke Skywalker
Luke would worry when you would have panic attacks. The first time he saw you have one was when the falcon was getting pulled into the death star. He saw you leave the cockpit and would follow after asking Han what was wrong. Han said it was a usual for you so he shouldn't worry much. Luke being the sweetheart he is would scoff at Han's carelessness and immediately go to find you.
"Y/N? Are you alright?" He would ask in the softest voice you've ever heard. You wanted to smile but your body shaking so dramatically made you forget the thought. Luke would soon kneel in front of you and rub your arms gently.
"Hey, you've got nothing to worry about, okay? I'll keep you safe alright?" You nodded and jumped into his welcoming arms.
Han Solo
Han would worry when you would go quiet, already knowing his pathetic jokes hurt your feelings. And when you walked out of the cockpit soon after, he knew his fate was sealed. Han would curse under his breath and tell Chewie to man the ship, and then go to find you. He felt his heart break when he saw you crying.
"Aw, sweetheart. You know I was just joking," he'd say, a slight chuckle coming from him, only when not getting a reply from you, he'd sigh and bring you into his lap to comfort you.
"I love you, sweetheart. I'd never purposely hurt you."
Din Djarin
Din would worry when he had to leave for bounties. Although he trusted his judgement, he hated leaving you and Grogu alone. Fear always seeped into his mind as he left, having to give you one more tight hug before he truly left.
"Me and Grogu will be fine, Honey. I promise we'll stay put this time" you would say while chuckling. Watching as Mando gave you a look, even though he always had his helmet on, you could feel his eyes boring into yours.
"I'm kidding, we'll be alright, okay? Now go, I've made you stay long enough." Din would sigh at this but hug you anyway, rubbing his hands along your sides as if to remember them.
"I'll be back soon."
Kylo Ren
Kylo, much like his father, would worry when you would go quiet. Your usual overjoyed attitude was replaced by dark, even sad thoughts. He would immediately worry and ask to speak with you privately. You only nodded in reply. Gritting his teeth, Kylo lead you to a private sector and sat you down.
"What's wrong?" He asked, gently taking your hands into his own.
"It's nothing, love." You would say, shaking your head. Kylo frowned and brought one hand to his lips. Giving your knuckles a kiss.
"You know I hate it when you lie to me," he'd say, his brows furrowed with concern.
"It was Hux. He always makes fun of me for my 'goody-two shoes' attitude." You'd say with a huff, watching as Kylo's eyes darkened. First he would comfort you, and after making sure you were okay, he'd go find Hux and punish him.
Reblogs Appreciated!

The Bond Between Us ~ 71
THE BOND BETWEEN US MASTERLIST
< previous chapter
Word Count: 2,500ish
Summary: You help rescue Han from Jabba’s palace on Tatooine.
Notes: We’re now in The Return of the Jedi! (And I know that many of you will be happy with the next chapter...) Also, I have officially planned out the rest of the series. It will end with chapter 87, so we are closer to the end than you think! Thank you so much for the support and those who have stuck with this series despite it going on after Obi-Wan is officially dead. I appreciate it so much.
It took almost a year to figure out where Han was being kept and to come up with a plan. During that time, neither you nor Luke returned to Dagobah. Instead, the two of you relied on your training in the Jedi Order from over twenty years ago. Working together, the two of you grew in strength and confidence with the Force. You still didn’t like how much of your life was controlled by the Force, but you knew that it was a much-needed ally in the fight against the Empire.
While you worked on getting your strength back with the Force, you could feel and hear Obi-Wan guiding you. Though you hadn’t actually seen him since Dagobah, it was enough to know that he was still there, for now.
Currently, you, Leia, Lando, Chewie, and Luke were sitting in the Falcon. The five of you had laid out a plan to go retrieve Han from Jabba’s palace on Tatooine. It was a dangerous mission, but it was worth it to all of you.
“Great it’s a plan then,” Luke said. “I’ll take the double passenger fighter with Y/N.”
“Actually, I’ll meet you there on the Falcon,” you said, getting worried looks from everyone. “I… I just… Yeah…” You stood up and exited the room, finding a small room you could be alone in.
You knew that saving Han was important; he was your dear friend and the person Leia loves. But the thought of going back to Tatooine without Obi-Wan was troubling you. You thought that you’d never go back there again. As you sat in the small room, all you could do was think about that house in the canyon made out of love. A small knock on the door pulled you out of your thoughts.
“Come in,” you told the person you sensed on the other side.
Leia slipped in and sat down beside you. “How are you?” She asked.
“Honestly? I don’t know if I’m ready to go back to Tatooine.”
Leia nodded. “That makes sense. I could feel your uneasiness as we were discussing the plan.”
“It’s not going to stop me from helping to save Han. I know that he is important to you and he is my friend as well.”
“I know that,” Leia grabbed one of your hands and gave it a light squeeze. “Thank you for helping with this.”
“Of course. You make it seem like I wouldn’t have.”
“Well, you have constantly been fighting for others. I wouldn’t blame you for stepping back from the fights.”
“It’s my duty, Leia.”
“Yes, but does it have to be? The Order is gone, Obi-Wan is gone, and you have no reason to stay and help with the Rebellion. No one would blame you for walking away.”
“I have a reason to stay, Leia. You are my reason. You are my family. And Luke needs my help with becoming a Jedi. I appreciate the concern and the permission to leave, but this is my place and I am staying.”
~~~
The plan to save Han was in full motion. C3PO, R2, Leia, Chewie, and Lando had all been planted in Jabba’s palace. You could feel that Leia was even able to unfreeze Han before getting caught. It was now up to you and Luke. You and Luke were standing outside Jabba’s main gate. The two of you were clad in Jedi robes. Luke was wearing mostly black while you stuck with the creams and browns of traditional Jedi attire. Your hoods were up to cover your faces
The main gate opened and the two of you walked purposefully through the large hallway. Two giant guards moved to block your path, causing the two of you to halt. Either of you rose a hand toward the closest guard. The guards immediately lowered their spears and fell back, allowing the two of you to continue down the hallway.
Following the Force, you and Luke turned down a stairwell, leading you to Jabba’s throne room. You could see Leia, dressed in a golden slave outfit, laying across Jabba. It took all you had to not get stuck in memories of the past—when you had to wear something similar and act like a slave. You cringed for her before your eyes caught sight of C3PO standing behind Jabba.
Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s right hand, noticed the two of you heading down the stairs and rushed toward you. He held a hand up, pointing a crooked finger your way.
“Yo macka chipowan Skywalker,” Bib said in Huttesee. “Jabba mo botowa tu.”
“We must speak with Jabba,” Luke insisted calmly.
Bib halted the two of you on the stairs. “Es tosit. Jabba no tusen di hunka bi. No bargain.”
“You will take us to Jabba now.” You could feel Luke’s use of the Force and were very proud of him.
“Ataka bu Jabba now,” Bib agreed, only due to the influence of the Force. He began to lead you down the rest of the stairs.
“You serve your master well.”
“Ay sota vanlocha.”
“And you will be rewarded.”
You and Luke headed for the center of the room. Jabba’s patrons around the room began to wake, growling and murmuring, as Bib headed for Jabba. You made eye contact with Leia, who gave a nod to ensure that she was alright.
“At last!” C3PO exclaimed. “Master Luke’s come to rescue me!”
“Master,” Bib spoke close to Jabba.
“Oohh!” Jabba exclaimed as he was startled awake.
“Gabba nopez Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight.”
“I told you not to admit him,” Jabba said, in huttese. “And who is this beside him?” You took off your hood, earning a chuckle from Jabba. “The great General L/N, Jedi Knight even after all these years.” You kept your face calm and straight. “I am surprised to find that you are still alive.”
“As I am with you,” you responded.
“I must be allowed to speak,” Luke insisted, trying to change the conversation back to the reason why you were here.
“He must be allowed to speak,” Bib told Jabba in huttese.
Jabba grabbed Bib. “You weak-minded fool!” He told his servant. “He’s using an old Jedi mind trick.” He shoved Bib away.
Luke stepped forward, slipping the hood off of his head. “You will bring Captain Solo and the Wookiee to us,” he tried again using the Force.
“Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho! Your mind powers will not work on me, boy. Didn’t Y/N tell you that?”
“Nevertheless, I’m taking Captain Solo and his friends. You can either profit by this, or be destroyed.”
“It’s your choice, Jabba,” you finally spoke up. “But I warn you not to underestimate our powers.”
“Ooahh.”
“Master Luke, Mistress Y/N, you’re standing on—“
“There will be no bargain, Jedi,” Jabba interrupted C3PO as he yanked the chain around Leia’s neck back. “I shall enjoy watching you die.”
Luke shot out a hand and used the Force to pull a blaster from one of the patron's waists to him. He tried to shoot Jabba but was stopped by one of the patrons as the floor fell open from beneath you, causing you to fall down a chute and into a large cell. You tumbled into the sand and bones with a groan.
“Are you alright, Y/N?” Luke asked as he came to help you up.
“I told you mind tricks wouldn’t work on him,” you grumbled, brushing off the sand.
“It was worth a shot.”
A creaking sound caused you and Luke to spin around. A large metal door began to move upward. The patron—one of Jabba’s guards—that had fallen with you, screamed in panic. You began to look around for a way to escape.
“Oh, no!” You could hear C3PO exclaim from above. “The rancor!”
As the iron door finished opening, a giant, fanged rancor emerged. You could feel some fear from Luke as the two of you slowly backed away.
“Keep calm,” you advised. “We need to work together to get out of here.”
The guard squealed, trying to get out of there, only to be the first victim. You and Luke continued to look around for something to use. Luke turned and grabbed one of the bigger bones just before he was grabbed by the rancor.
“Luke!” You shouted.
You found another bone and used the Force to break it in half. You held one half in each of your hands before jumping up onto the back of the rancor and plunging the sharp edges of the bones into the monster. The monster roared in pain as it dropped Luke. Luke, seeing a door on the other side, ran over and tried to get it open. You pulled out one of the bones only to quickly plunge it back into the beast.
“Y/N!” Luke called. “Be ready to jump!”
“Hurry!” You responded.
Picking up a skull from off the ground, Luke hurled it at the panel on the wall. The giant metal overhead door came crashing down. You jumped back, off of the beast, as the door crashed down on the rancor’s head, killing it. Gasps were heard from overhead and you scrambled over to Luke.
The small door near you opened, allowing guards and the rancor keeper to rush through. Guards pulled you and Luke away from each other, quickly binding you both up and dragging you toward the throne room.
“Han!” You shouted as you saw him and Chewie being escorted to the throne room as well. You could tell he was still dazed.
“Y/N!” He responded.
“Are you alright?” Luke asked as the four of you were brought closer together.
“Fine. Together again, huh?”
“Wouldn’t miss it.”
“How are we doing?”
“Same as always.”
“That bad, huh?” You were forced to stop in front of Jabba. “Where’s Leia?”
“I’m here,” she said from her spot near Jabba.
Jabba spoke to C3PO in huttese, requesting that the droid translates for him.
“Oh, dear. His High Exaltedness, the great Jabba the Hutt, has decreed that you are to be terminated immediately,” C3PO said.
“Good,” Han sarcastically replied. “I hate long waits.”
“You will therefore be taken to the Dune Sea and cast into the Pit of Carkoon, the nesting place of the all-powerful Sarlacc.”
“Doesn’t sound so bad.”
“In his belly, you will find a new definition of pain and suffering, as you are slowly digested of 1,000 years.”
“On second thought, let’s pass on that.”
“You should have bargained, Jabba,” Luke warned. “That’s the last mistake you’ll ever make.”
~~~
The suns seemed more bright than usual on Tatooine. At least that was your opinion. Jabba’s huge sail barged moved next to the smaller skiffs, one that held you and your friends. Lando had joined your group, disguised as one of the guards.
“I think my eyes are getting better,” Han noted, blinking a lot. “Instead of a big dark blur, I see a big light blur.”
“There’s nothing to see,” Luke said. “I used to live here, you know.”
“You’re gonna die here, you know. Convenient.”
“Have some faith in us, Han,” you said. “We came with a plan.”
“Just stick close to Chewie and Lando,” Luke said. “We’ve taken care of everything.”
“Oh, great,” Han muttered. His head moved to look at you though he couldn’t actually see you. “How are you holding up, kid? Hope losing me for a while there wasn’t too bad.”
“Just don’t get yourself into another situation like that again, Han,” you said. “You know how well I handle losing people.”
“As long as there were no golden eyes.”
You chuckled slightly. “No, not this time.”
“Good.”
The skiff stopped in front of a huge sand pit, where the Sarlacc was hissing and growling. The guards extended a black from the skiff and shoved Luke toward it. The sailing barge stopped near your skiff and the pit to watch.
Using a microphone, C3PO began to speak for Jabba, “Victims of the Almighty Sarlacc, His Excellency hopes that you will die honorably. But should any of you wish to beg for mercy, the great Jabba the Hutt, will now listen to your pleas.”
“3PO! You tell that slimy piece of worn-ridden filth, he’ll get no such pleasure from us!” Han shouted. “Right?” Chewie growled in agreement.
“Jabba,” you called calmly, “this is your last chance. “Free us or die.”
Jabba’s laughter echoed out of the barge, along with his order to move Luke into position. He was pushed out onto the plank. Glancing over at you and Lando, Luke gave a nod. You and Lando both returned one, signaling that you were ready. Luke and yourself then looked up at the barge to see R2 on the top deck, waiting for the signal. Luke gave R2 a two-finger salute before Luke jumped off the plank. He twisted in the air, grabbed onto the plank, and used the Force to jump and flip back onto the skiff. He caught his new lightsaber, which R2 had tossed, and quickly began fighting.
Lando tore off his mask and started fighting as well. Luke got your bonds off just in time for you to catch the two sabers heading your way. With ease, you caught and ignited the yellow and blue-bladed sabers and began to use them to deflect oncoming blasts from the barge. Boba Fett came flying from the barge, landing in front of you.
“It’s been a long time, Boba,” you commented. “You don’t have to do this.”
“Yes, I do,” Boba replied.
Before he could fire at you, you used one of the lightsabers to cut his blaster down. You kicked him down before jumping up and flipping onto the next skiff. You then used that skiff to get you onto the barge. You knew that your friends could handle themselves and the other guards, letting you start taking care of those firing at you from the top level. Luke didn’t take long to join you, with Leia, C3PO, and R2 quickly appearing from the lower levels as well.
“Get the gun!” Luke ordered Leia. She quickly moved to the large gun anchored to the barge. “Point it at the deck! Point it at the deck!”
“R2 and C3PO!” You shouted. “Jump now!”
“I couldn’t possibly—“ C3PO’s arguments were cut short by R2 pushing the golden droid off of the barge before following close behind.
You quickly grabbed one of the chains and used it to fling yourself over the skiff. You let go of the chain and dropped down onto the skiff that Chewie, Lando, and Han were waiting on. Using the gun Leia had aimed at the deck, Luke fired it at the barge before he and Leia used a room to swing onto the skiff.
“Let’s go,” Luke ordered. “And don’t forget the droids.”
“We’re on our way,” Lando replied, flying the skiff away from the exploding barge.

Year-End Fic Recs 2022 - part 2
Every year, my fellow fanfic writers blow me away with their talent, their creativity, and their heart. I’m compiling a list to share a few of the fics I read (or reread) this year and would recommend -- by no means an exhaustive list of the many talented writers and wonderful stories out there, and not exclusively stories that came out or updated this year, but a place to start. Because I have a lot to say, I’ll be sharing these in multiple posts. (Fic Recs Part 1 can be read here.)
Fic Recs Part 2: Han and Leia Learn That Sex Doesn’t Fix Things
I love exploring Han and Leia’s growing attraction and their unresolved sexual and romantic tension in the first part of the Original Trilogy -- but what if they did admit and act on their attraction before the events of ESB? These fics explore that in different ways, and deftly walk that line of an enjoyable AU and a Han and Leia who feel perfectly in character.
The Interlude series (Interlude, Relapse, and Wilderness) by @madame-alexandra: This series explores an AU in which Leia and Han develop a sexual relationship in several isolated instances while away from base, starting with an encounter while on Kashyyyk to get Chewie urgent medical attention. The sexual intimacy feels great in the moment, but Leia’s not ready to take the leap into the emotional intimacy Han needs, and it’s killing them both. Beautiful, nuanced exploration of both Han and Leia, what they each bring to their relationship, and what things keep them from connecting, even when they are in love.
In A World Where You Are Possible by @keys2thefalcon / Falcon_Etti: This AU features a Han and Leia who take a bit of a detour from the OT plot trajectory, in part because of their friends-with-benefits-turned-relationship that develops prior to the events of ESB. The first chapter shows Han, Leia, and Chewie as field agents returning to the New Republic sometime after Endor, with Han and Leia’s four-year-old daughter and young son in tow; subsequent chapters are exploring how they got there, both plot-wise and emotionally. This fic is in progress and is updating regularly now, and it honestly blows me away. The author builds plot, explores Han’s and Leia’s individual emotional landscapes, helps us see how their pasts and their presents affect their approaches to the future, and adds plenty of lived-in detail and well-developed OCs that make this world feel so real. Han and Leia are still the heroes we know and love, they love each other deeply, they are building a good relationship, and yet in this fic they are allowed to fuck up, to make bad decisions, to do their best and still fail, to misunderstand each other. They feel so real and so human as they try to come together and as they commit to making this work. Them realizing they love each other is just the beginning of the story (although even that takes a while to get to!), and it’s wonderful to come along for the ride.
Night At the Grand Regent Hotel by @otterandterrierwrites: And now for something completely different: it’s Han and Leia in a sex pollen fic! In an AU of the Star Wars Rebels and Rogues comic (in which Han and Leia are posing as newlyweds for a mission and decline the “pheromone enhancers” on offer in the honeymoon suite), Han and Leia are unknowingly exposed to said enhancers. And suddenly can’t seem to keep their hands off each other, or their heads clear enough to complete the mission. The sex is VERY hot (and as consensual as one can get with sex pollen involved), the plot is hilarious (especially after you know what’s causing the extreme horniness), and the writing beautifully portrays the conflicting feelings that would arise after falling into bed with someone you love but had told yourself was off-limits.
waves by @soloorganaas: The sexual tension between Leia and Han finally crests while on a mission together, prior to ESB. Leia’s riding a wave of manic energy, and Han is delighted to be needed and wanted by her, and determined to lift her up when the wave crashes. Incredible example of smut with feelings, and an exploration of a neurodivergent Leia and the man who loves her – but fears that with her soul pledged to the Rebellion, there will be little left for him. The sex is beautifully done and very hot, and the portrayal of Han and Leia feels both very unique and very much in character.
