Matty Healy's villain origin story is that he’s a nepo baby “Artiste” that was passed by the major labels. Meanwhile Harry grew up nearby and was signed for £20m by a major label off a TV show. MH has been low key obsessed with Harry, eventually dated his girlfriend, dumped her and she said she had temporary insanity. He said they never dated in 2014, doing so would be emasculating and he released a HS diss track at the time. In 2024 he said TTPD does not reflect the relationship they had.

MHs parents are actors Tim Healy and Denise Welch, overseas 1D fans may know his mum from this Loose Women interview with 1D. His parents had a messy public divorce covered in Tabloids.

1999 - When his mum was featured on This is Your Life, in this clip, 10 year old Matty said he wanted to be "a popstar and top class musician" with his mum looking tense.

2002 - the 1975 was formed with school friends in Manchester, it will be 10 years before they have success.

2009 - 1975 met and was unsigned by every major label. Their manager formed an independent label and signed them for £20.

2010 - One Direction is formed on X-Factor with Harry, 5 years younger also from Cheshire, 30 minutes drive from Mattys hometown of Wilmslow, both near Manchester. 1D becomes a national sensation and sign a £1m record deal with a major label.

2011 - One Direction continues to grow with the X-Factor tour, records Up All Night and starts their own tour.

2012 - What Makes You Beautiful is #1 in 16 countries including the UK and US. Harry starts dating Taylor Swift and the world loses it's mind over them and the band.

And that's the end of the 2014, interaction, between Matty appearing in the 1989 t-shirt and the meltdown was 1 month, and Harry and Taylor were seen together in that time. Taylor did go to one 1975 concert without Harry, 2 days before Matty melted down.

Matty said he got permission from the celebrities, but also added that he did not plan to make out with Harry's. Meaning Harry did not give permission for how his cut out was used.

2016, March to Q Magazine, (and widely reported) Matty said:

“I feel like I’m not very good at relationships,” he’d said, and I wondered why. Healy explained the jumble of reasons – insecurity, self-obsession, a fear of misrepresentation. Was it also, I asked, a fear of losing himself? He nodded. “Absolutely. And the reason I mention that is because if I had [properly] gone out with Taylor Swift the first thing I would’ve [thought was] ‘Fucking hell I am NOT being Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.’ You know, FUCK. In 2016 Matty was dating Gabby and they posted to instagram a lot, like this photo of them at Coachella together in 2016. They seem happy and committed, they dated for another 3 years. He toured the whole year, (dates) South East Asia January, UK/Europe March - April. Coachella 24 April (they were in Canada on the 29th) then US & Canada until July. Back to SE Asia & UK in August, South America in September, US again in October with shows every other night.

12 November 2016 - to the Guardian Matty again mocks Haylor, with a reference to Hobama, also confirming they didn't even kiss:

They continued touring constantly, (dates) Uk/europe January, February. South America March, April. US/Canada April - July.

2017 - November - Matty went to Rehab, they didn't tour till 2019. Matty was still dating Gabby.

I'm skipping ahead a few years, Matty brings Taylor and Harry up alot, like in random interviews with Zane Lowe, Nick Grimshaw etc. But the vibe is often separating him from success. I wonder if he is also reminding others he knows them.

12 April Harry maybe shades Matty in his Rolling Stone Interview:

2022 - 5 January - 14 February - he works with Jack Antonoff. The band did not work with Jack before 5 January 2022. On 5 January they were in Real World Studios (i.e. not Electric Lady with Jack) and the record was complete by 14 February 2022. It is an album made to be played live and Jack did not write lyrics, under 6 weeks is about right. There are rumours of a collab which Matty both says it is fake news he worked on Midnights and then that he did but it wasn't used. Taylor never acknowledged.

2022 - 27 March DM Story Jack had an argument with FKA Twigs who was dating Matty after the Oscars.

Though can’t blame her bc as a fellow non Taylor Swift fan (not hater just simply isn’t my music style) I too went to a Taylor Swift concert when I got offered free good tickets

I go to events that I don’t care about when I get invited too haha and honestly to sit there and listen to some music for a couple of hours in the VIP section it’s a low effort thing. It’s not like being invited to go and stand in the pit or something haha.

But at the same time if someone said “are you a Halsey fan” the answer is no but if my bf said hey do you want to come to a Halsey concert I could definitely go and bop along for a couple of hours and know the words to one or two songs.

Bag Policy:

Clear Bags - 12″ wide x 6″ deep x 12″ high

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″.

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar).

Clear backpacks within the listed dimensions and have no more than two (2) pockets.

Allowed Sizing for Non-Clear Purses, Clutches, Wallets and Fanny Packs:  4.5” x 6.5” (these items may be carried into the stadium along with one of the clear bag options.)

Bags that are not in compliance will not be stored and must be returned to the patron’s vehicle

i had a GOOD day today. was only at home for like two hours, i worked and then i met up with my friend at this pottery place. i painted this tiny little cute strawberry plate and i hope it turns out fine. never been a very artsy person, coloring books used to stress me out as a child. but it was so so fun i hadn’t seen my friend in so long. yk when you haven’t talked in person to someone in a long time and it’s kinda weird and awkward. and then someone snort laughs and everything falls into place. i’m getting ready to start my bio hw and saving math for tmrw. my sister made strawberry banana bread i was a bit skeptical but it was actually really good. this girl was selling girl scout cookies outside so i bought one of my favorite kind. one was me restraining myself because i thought we had snacks at home. we don’t so i’m treasuring these last few cookies. mais guess what i’m expanding myself from just taylor swift to tswift and lana del ray. i told myself in 2023 i would start to listen to more artists. so tell me who i should add in march. january was halsey who i loved. we got tickets to this concert of this really big tamil artist and i’m so so so excited! tmrw i’m gonna take out my spring clothes hopefully. oh!! i got a polaroid camera which is very very fun. short hair and polaroids? i’m in my 1989 era.

17. which show would you say was the most beautiful? i think taylor swift's speak now tour. it had such gorgeous costuming and stage setting, and it was the first swiftie crowd that i had ever seen so i was just enchanted by everyone's outfits and signs

I cannot thank you enough for being the voice of reason on here. I’m saying this as someone who waited 8 hours in the queue and ended up not getting tickets. It’s understandable to be upset, and frustrated by the ticket sale and maybe just maybe there was something small she could have done to make it a bit easier. But there is such an incessant amount of people determined to blame everything on taylor and are just blatantly ignoring how much of this is Ticketmasters fault. Idk maybe it’s easier to be mad at a person instead of a faceless corporation. That people are just completely ignoring the reality of the situation and how much power Ticketmaster has. And then you have people comparing it to Harry, Halsey and Ed completely disregarding how different the situations are and that those concerts also had a bunch of these same issues too.

i really don't know the specifics of ed, sheeran's tour and why everyone uses it as an example of what taylor could do to stop scalpers but as far as i could see ed did that in the uk and the uk government already has better laws and policies about the reselling of tickets than the US does so it was easier for him to implement that. i genuinely think that if that had been within taylor's ability she would have implemented it as well, but they're two different countries with different laws and regulations

1.an album you can’t stop listening to lately

Machine Gun Kelly's "Bloom". Next to "tickets to my downfall" probably my favourite album of his. It has "Rehab", and "Habits", and "27", and "Bad Things", and "Golden God", and "The Gunner" which is trashy as fuck but I love it anyway. Currently almost always playing this album at work during clean-up. (But also Halsey's "Badlands". Idk I don't even listen to her much, but I just love "Badlands".)

5. name an album you feel is perfect

ASP's "Verfallen #1: Astoria". Love everything about it - the omnious start with "Himmel und Hölle (Kreuzweg)", the anticipation of the protagonist leaving Berlin, heading for Leipzig, and immediately seeing the Astoria, falling in love with her, then the slow descend into both the hotel and the unhealthy relationship, half aware of it ("doch insgesamt, spüre ich, geht es bergab"), the last resistance against her wishes, the breaking of that resistance and the murder of poor Loreley, and the closing track, that's both teasing the continuation and just reference after reference to ASP's other work... Apparently I have a lot more feelings about that than I thought xD

8. name an artist/band that isn’t touring at the moment who you’d really like to see in concert

In Extremo aren't touring right now I think, and I really want to see them live again! And also Vogelfrey, who are definitely not touring atm.

13. if you could talk to any musician, who would it be? what would you want to say?

Asp. No discussion. I want to thank him for his music (not sure I'd still be alive without him), especially for "Leviathan" and the logbook entry for it, and also I'd love to just get to chat with him, because his mind is amazing.

19. who is your favorite member of your favorite band?

It's Asp. He is ASP, and he's responsible for everything that makes ASP ASP, so of course it's him. (But Micha/Das letzte Einhorn from In Extremo is also someone I love very much.)
