US Republican Clarifies Controversial ‘Cat Bounty’! Activist Chris Rufo Has Offered $5,000 For Proof That Haitians Were Eating Pets In Ohio
— 12 September 2024 | RT
Republican Activist Christopher Rufo has offered a $5,000 reward in order to fact-check claims that Haitian immigrants in an Ohio town were eating people’s pet cats, but had to amend its terms to prevent abuse.
Around 20,000 Haitian migrants have been settled in Springfield, a community of less than 60,000 between Dayton and Columbus, over the past four years.
At Tuesday’s US presidential debate, Republican candidate Donald Trump brought up the rumors that people’s pets have been going missing, and that the migrants were to blame. His running mate, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance, also said that Ohioans “have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country,” citing reports his office has received.
“Alright, let’s settle it: I will provide a $5,000 bounty to anyone who can provide my team with hard, verifiable evidence that Haitian migrants are eating cats in Springfield, Ohio. Deadline is Sunday. Go,” Rufo said Wednesday evening on X.
“I want to know the truth. Conservatives must be careful with the facts, and not let the narrative go beyond the evidence. Right now, the assumption is that this did not occur. But, if evidence emerges, it’s in the public interest to bring it forward,” he added.

The well-intentioned initiative had a major flaw that emerged in short order: most of the replies were people offering – seriously or in jest – to eat a cat in Springfield in order to collect the bounty.
“I’m off to Springfield, Ohio with my cat and a large pot. Five grand is five grand,” said one X user. “Does it count if we pay the Haitian migrants to eat the cat?” asked another. He was not the only one to realize that Rufo’s wording offered a “tremendous arbitrage opportunity,” in the words of one US lawyer.
It only took half an hour for Rufo to amend the terms of his bounty, noting that it “must be an incident that occurred prior to the presidential debate! No eating cats, people!”
So far, no one has come forth to provide the evidence that could qualify for Rufo’s bounty, although one of the respondents tried making the case with logic, rather than documentation.
“Ok, 1) Haitians eat cats and will tell you so themselves, 2) 20,000 Haitians were placed in Springfield, Ohio. Therefore, Haitians are eating cats in Springfield, Ohio,” argued a YouTuber by the name of ‘hoe math’. “The burden is now on you to prove that 20,000 people from a cat-eating culture suddenly magically stopped eating cats when placed on the magic dirt of the USA.”
Reports of Haitians eating wild birds and household pets disappearing have sparked a flood of political memes depicting Trump rescuing kittens and goslings from the cookpot. Meanwhile, Democrats have protested the “fake news” and insisted that accusations of cat-eating were simply racism.

Love for community is exactly how cities overcome regressive and reactionary cowards.
Ohio will benefit from new arrivals and immigrants. New ideas, new cuisine. 🇭🇹
Haitians are revitalizing their new community.
JD Vance will never understand this love.

freedom to haiti 🇭🇹
masterdoc for haitian aid.
cojeha is an aid resource for haitian youth.
african americans for the haitian freedom! black caribbeans for haitian freedom! 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
thinking heavily about the last time pluto was in aquarius in 1777. at the beginning, the haitian people were still in chains.
and by the end of the pluto in aquarius transit in 1798, haiti were a free people who inspired revolts all over the americas. a handful of latin american flags (🇨🇴🇪🇨🇩🇴 for example) owe theirs to haiti. and we all should be thanking haiti for what they did. but the global african people had a long way to go before we could call ourselves truly free.
now i’m thinking about us sitting at the last degree of capricorn as we await pluto’s return to aquarius after 250 years… just to see tweets of nazis peddling donald trump’s untrue claim that haitian migrants were eating cats and dogs when the u.s. is the reason for the immigration from haiti.
this is all so karmic. as a black people, we really gotta stick together for always but for these trying times. the last time pluto was in aquarius, haiti inspired millions of africans into freedom. now we need to show our solitary with the haitian people through materially aiding them in any way we can.
the way haitians have no refuge in the dominican republic, the states, or haiti itself shows the pervasiveness of anti-haitianism & anti-blackness. but don’t let nationality or ethnicity divide us. we african people are all one people. we were chained and split up but we are one people. in the haitian constitution, they already said the global black people have a home in them. so i will forever love u like kin, Haiti. freedom to You is freedom to us all! asè & to a ayiti libre!! 🇭🇹

🇭🇹🇩🇴 Dominican Republic Shuts down its Border with Haiti as tensions rise over Canal Construction
The Dominican Republic shut down its border Wednesday over the construction of a canal by Haitian Farmers. The Dominican Govt said the construction of the canal would put its own farmers at a disadvantage.
Since shutting down the border Wednesday, Dominican Immigration Officials only open the border twice a day, and only in the direction of Haiti as reports of police violence by Haitians increases and masses of Haitians leave the country.
Ever since Dominican President Luis Abinader took office in 2020, he has taken a hard line against Haiti, from which large immigration flows are an issue.
Last year, deportations doubled in the Dominican Republic and President Abinader has called for building a wall between the two countries.
President Abinader is also threatening to send an invading "Peace Force" into Haiti, something the Biden Administration has been pushing for in response to supposed gang violence.
Interestingly, just last week, a peace treaty between the Haitian gangs and Self-Defense groups the West also calls "gangs" took affect and violence has decreased dramatically as areas previous under lockdown for neighborhood protection are opened back up to the public.
It would seem stability is the least of Western or Dominican concerns in Haiti if they are pushing the DR for a ground invasion of Haiti now.

United States occupation of Haiti - Wikipedia
The United States redesigned the education system. It dismantled the liberal arts education* which the Haitians had inherited (and adapted) from the French system.[71] With the Service Technique de l’Agriculture et de l’Enseignement Professionnel*, Americans emphasized agricultural and vocational training, similar to its industrial education for minorities and immigrants in the United States.[49][71] Dr. Robert Russa Moton was tasked with assessing the Service Technique, concluding that though the objectives were admirable, performance was not satisfactory and criticized the large amount of funding it received compared to average Haitian public schools, which were in poor condition.[49]
Elite Haitians despised the system, believing it was discriminatory against their people.[49][71] The mulatto elite also feared the creation of an educated middle class that would potentially lead to the loss of their influence.[49]

The problem is Haitian Gangs that have for all intensive purposes, taking over the nation of Haiti and has been circumventing the government of Haiti 🇭🇹 with Lawlessness, Uptick in ILLEGAL ALIENS entering the DR 🇩🇴, Criminal Mayhems, Murders of their own citizens but also foreigners there to help them, representing other governments 🌍 (like or African nations of Nigeria 🇳🇬 or Kenya 🇰🇪 or European nations of France 🇫🇷 or Germany 🇩🇪) and nations 🌏 (like China 🇨🇳 and Japan 🇯🇵) and churches ⛪️ or ministries ☪️✝️🕉️✡️ from the US 🇺🇸 (like of from Citylight or the Nazarene Church or Doctors Without Borders, and many Islamic brothers) and The Americas 🌎 (Canada 🇨🇦, Mexico 🇲🇽, Panamá 🇵🇦, Brazil 🇧🇷, etc) and recent restart rebuilding an Already Established ILLEGAL canal from the Río Dajabón (also nicknamed Río Masacré, for the Massacre River, in English after the massacre of some 20 to 50,000 Haitians during my uncle 5 Star General President Dr. Trujillo), which essentially divides our two nations coexist (ar times Confrontationally, as is the case now because they broke certain agreed upon laws of either territory or legal immigration) on the Island 🏝️ of Hispañiola. In other words, the DR 🇩🇴 President (which I do Not fully support), is Right on his stance, but Not Hard enough because the Truth is, That Haiti 🇭🇹 Despite ALL DR 🇩🇴 has done for them ALL the time, not just at the point of their needs (which seems to be ALWAYS) has been in Violation for quite some time (decades, which was the cause and effect of the massacre during my uncle’s 31 year reign) on ILLEGAL ALIENS CRISES that are 10 times Greater than that of US 🇺🇸 here with the only difference being that it’s only Haitians vs people from everywhere coming to the USA 🇺🇸 But the numbers are astronomically more in DR than US when you consider land mass and population to ILLEGAL ALIENS Entering ILLEGALLY and Staying ILLEGALLY and I suppose the needle 🪡 the broke the camel’s 🐪 back 🐫 was the countless murders of Dominicans vacationing or visiting Haiti 🇭🇹 and this ILLEGAL canal being constructed that can affect the ecological environment, agriculture and wildlife or even either or both populations on either side of this great river. A war May brake out and many will die on both sides but in the end, Haiti 🇭🇹 would Lose and quite possibly more than they bargained for. 🧐🙏🌎#REBTD😇

Happy New Year AND Haitian Independence Day! “This past year has been a wake up call for so many in the US in regards to racial issues. This has also driven a noticeable amount of new followers on my page (thank you profoundly and also please remain focused on issues that my art itself will never cover entirely). In that light, I invite you to take a minute to learn/commemorate a history of victory that is too often silenced.” “Haiti led the first successful slave rebellion in the world against the French (Napoléon Bonaparte’s army!), making that nation question hard their motto of ‘Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité’.” “Haïti won and proclaimed independence on January 1st of 1804.” “[Side note of admiration: Can we please kneel down to the fact that, of all the names Africans on the island could have given to the country, they decided to pay hommage to the Tainos (who had been massacred by the Spanish) by changing “Saint-Domingue” back to the native “Haiti”?]” “Ever since its independence, Haiti has suffered from what in my opinion has been one of the most illustrative forms of prolonged/historical/global systemic racism.” “I was born and raised in Haiti and a lot of my art is inspired either by lived experiences there, historical/literary stories from Haiti and my navigating the US as a Haitian ‘immigrant’.” “I thought I would share this little bit of history with you through my own words and invite you to learn about what is becoming a more researched part of world history.” “Words to type into your search engine:
The Haitian Revolution. Hope you enjoy and Happy New Year again! 🇭🇹” #SupportBlackArt #jolivert

🇩🇴😤🇭🇹 • @haitianamericans (CNN) Hundreds of children have been expelled from the Dominican Republic without their parents, according to UNICEF, amid a sweeping government push to remove suspected undocumented migrants from the country. The United Nations Children's Agency has received at least 1,800 unaccompanied children delivered by Dominican immigration authorities into Haiti since the year began, a spokesperson told CNN on Monday. Many arrive without identity documents and are "shipped" into the country amid adult deportees, the spokesperson also said -- raising the question of how Dominican authorities ascertained that they belonged in Haiti at all. the island of Hispaniola with Haiti, immigration detention centers sometimes hold parents without children. "One woman had a diaper bag with her, but not the baby. [Immigration agents] had told her that she couldn't carry her baby with her, and that they would bring it to the bus -- but then they didn't bring the baby to the bus," said Yoana Kuzmova, a researcher at Dominican migration policy thinktank Center for Migratory Observation and Social Development in the Caribbean. The Dominican Republic has long sought to reduce the Haitian population within its borders. But the latest wave of deportations this year is taking place with stunning speed and breadth, prompting critics to accuse the Caribbean nation's government of racial profiling, chaotic execution, and a disregard for human rights and families as immigration agents hustle people out of the country. The United States embassy in the Dominican Republic has warned Black and "darker-skinned Americans" that they risk "increased interaction" with Dominican authorities amid the immigration crackdown. In a statement released Saturday, the embassy described "reports of the unequal treatment" of US citizens based on skin color. But Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader has rejected calls to stop the deportations, arguing that the Dominican Republic already supports neighboring Haiti more than any other country in the world. CNN has reached out to the Dominican Republic's migration institute for comment. @cnn (at AYITI) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClR31K2LPts/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE U.S.’s RACIST IMMIGRATION POLICIES
For the idiots that always say “ just apply legally and you will be approved”.... THAT IS NOT TRUE! I personally know two individuals ( A Haitian & a Nicaraguan) that went through all the proper & legal channels to be granted asylum in the U.S. they were denied on multiple occasions even though both countries 🇭🇹🇳🇮 are experiencing violent conflicts (partly due to U.S. involvement) Its acceptable, blatant racism which doesn’t surprise me considering that Biden doubled-down on the excessive funding of US police departments. The Biden administration supports structural racism and for that reason ALONE he is no better than Trump.

🇭🇹✊🏽 @lunionsuite ・・・ Righting The Wrongs! 🇭🇹 ( Click Link In Our Bio To Read) @lunionsuite After the 2010 earthquake completely devastated Haiti, scholars and journalists wrote a letter to the French president demanding that France pay back Haiti. The French economist Thomas Piketty resurrected the idea in 2020, arguing that France owes Haiti at least $28 billion. The French government, under multiple presidents, has balked at the idea, and it is unlikely to pay Haiti back anytime soon. But if the rich world wants to help right the wrongs done to Haiti in the past, perhaps the most effective policy right now would be to accept more Haitian refugees. This wouldn't only be a humane policy that would improve their and their future families' lives. It would also likely be a boost to the Haitian economy. According to the World Bank, Haitian expatriates sent $3 billion in remittances back home to Haiti in 2018, which was almost one-third of the island nation's entire GDP.
