When Stacy had joined the UNSC, she had made countless friendships, protected the galaxy and all that lived in it. She was never prouder to have served but it was her time afterwards that would find her in the more…stranger situations. When a part of Alpha squad, she was the heavy gunner of the squad. It was her job to pin down enemies and give her squad covering fire. It didn’t give her much civilian job experience but she did work as a firearms instructor after her tenured in the UNSC. She still kept in contact with her old squadmates, including Rebecca though their communication was limited given Rebecca’s new position. To think she would be friends with royalty. They would hang out from time to time and she even babysat for the two when they would vacation in the UEG. She was always excited to see the little ones. At this point they called her Aunty Stacy and it was just the cutest thing.

So imagine her surprise when one day Spartan-197 and a mysterious woman who looked similar to Lucina but older appeared in her store one day. When she first heard that this mysterious woman was the same little girl that she had watched over was certainly out of left field. There was no way that the time went by that quickly. Stacy almost laughed thinking this was a joke but she saw that 197 would dead serious. Listening to this Lucina certainly made her realize that this was no joke. It was a lot to take in and one she would have to have Rebecca explain just what happened during her disappearance period. Though looking at this older It was then she heard the reason on why they were just here in the first place. This Lucina wanted to join the UNSC like her mother. She wasn’t really in a position to say no. Rebecca was one of her best friends and she owed 197 a lifetime debt after he had saved her. So when she heard that Lucina wanted to be trained to become a Marine, she was going to do it.

Stacy had been training Lucina for both her physical tests and aptitude test. It was important that she was taught on just what weapons she would be using as a Marine and the many different jobs. She could be a field medic like her mother, a sniper if range was more her thing, a navigator if she was more inclined to follow star charts. Something she would have time to figure out before going to boot camp. Stacy currently had Lucina running around a practice course. After making her go around the tract to go the distance of 4.82 kilometers, Stacy had clicked her stop watch that read a time of thirty one minutes forty seconds. It wasn’t a bad time but she would need to do a little better to make the cut. Stacy blew a whistle to signal to Lucina to take a rest. She walked over to her with a water bottle and the stopwatch.

“Not a bad time kid.” She said handing her the bottle. “thirty one minutes and forty seconds is pretty good though we will need to cut this by another minute for you to qualify. You’ve got your mother’s determination in you that’s for sure. Tell me. Why did you want to join the UNSC? I don’t want to dissuade you from this choice if it’s what you want to do but it’s not a decision to be made lightly. There’s a lot of choices to be made in it. Firstly which branch you want to join and then what job you want to apply for. I’m sure you are well aware that your mother was the field medic of the squad but there are other options as well. I was the heavy gunner of the squad. Got to deal with all sorts of heavy weapons. It was my job to cover my squad if we ever had to move from one position to the next. When you join you’ll be given a placement test that will show you which jobs you’ll fit in the best at according to different factors. Of course you can always choose something different than what the test suggested. It’s up to you to decide what you want to do.”

It was not strange that Lucina would favor one of her parent’s occupations. Hearing all about her mother’s glory days in the marine, made her grow fond and in awe of what she used to do. Lucina asked her parents and grandpa to help her get in that job like her mom and certainly it brought joy to Rebecca but a mixed feeling of concern and proudness. 

Spartan had brought her to whom who would help her achieve that dream--Stacy. Explaining that she wants to be like her mom and help in whatever she can, Stacy yielded and helped Lucina prepare for what will come to her in the future of this job.

Running was not bad but naga’s mercy achieving a certain time record is a tough job. Drenched in her sweat, Lucina was trying to take her breath when Stacy said she got a good record but she needs to do a little better.

“Huff... Gods ... this...is tough than I thought,” rubbing her sleeve against her forehead to wipe her sweat, she fixed her posture and took a deep breath. “I want to have different options to help people,” she is blessed by her natural father strength and her mother’s stamina, not to mention sword skills and other skill sets from her home realm. “I want to be able to do more than swing a blade to protect my family and friends.” 

She closed her eyes and opened them and you can tell the determination in her eyes. “I’d want to aim for a role like my grandfather, honestly, but I want to see where my abilities will be of use the best. Now, shall we go again, Miss Stacy?”

For his birthday present, Chrom will receive a big bear hug from one usually stoic and reserved swordsman. A bear hug that lifts him up off the ground for a few moments before setting him back down upon his feet. Then, once Zech sets him back down, he'll shove a small box in his hands.

"Happy birthday, blueberry. For taking me in like this... For accepting me and my family... I don't think I can properly convey how much I appreciate all you've done for us, but maybe this much can go a little ways towards expressing it."

When Chrom opens the package, he'll find a cerulean stone that's almost distinctly shaped like a dragonstone and, within its center, there appears to be a transparent engraving of the Mark of Naga.

"Now, I know what it looks like, but it's not actually one of those dragonstone doohickeys... Although it looks an awful lot like one, right? Had to consult with Tiki to help me find some sort of precious mineral that was similar enough in appearances to the real deal, and she even went the extra mile to help me make sure the Brand was properly engraved upon the stone. That's why I haven't been around much to really hype up the festivities for you, bud. I hope it's, ah... An acceptable gift."

"--oof!" to the sudden uncharacteristic hug of the swordsman left Chrom speechless for a good minute. His feet dangling for a second before Zech kindly puts him back. Somehow this brought back that one time when Basilio left him up with one arm when he got drunk. One would be traumatized but Chrom took a mental note that .. Zechariah finally warmed up to him more than ever. Success? Hell yeah! Do you know the mental hoops he had to go through every time he faced the man? Unlike his wife, he's not that easy to start a conversation with and hope it continues for a while until they get acquainted with each other. Mayhap he was asking the wrong questions at the wrong times, who knows. But now, Zech is officially gave Chrom the green light for more Bro approach; aka a hug for a hug. (support level jingle.)

"W-whoa-- ... That was--w-wait, hold on," Naga's mercy what is he on now? Shoving the box as soon as he let him go. Give a man a second to process how much happy he is that he finally became one step closer to a friend.

Hands fumbled with the box when Zech shoved it at him and of course he was about to drop it. The "Are you alright?" followed quickly. There is no way all these good things happening at the same time and from who? from Zecharaih. This is not Tharja's doing right? Henry? Did Sora ask him to do this? Who put up this man to suddenly be ... TOO friendly. IS CHROM DYING? IS ZECH DYING? WHAT'S--

"Ah ... " eyes dropped on the box then back at the swordsman who probably won't be as open as now after Chrom's shock. "Birthday....gift?" he blinked then smiled at him. "Don't be silly. I did what anyone would have done. You and your family are as precious as anyone here on camp, Zech. You probably undermine what you and Sora did around the camp but I am ever grateful for your help, especially with our cause. This is not your war but you stood by me and everyone else. You could easily tried your luck with the outrealm gate but you chose to stay and support us. I don't know who is doing who a favor, but certainly, I owe you a lot, my friend." holding tightly the box in his hands.

Eyebrows arched up, quizzically, hearing about the gift in his hands. Not a dragon stone? "Do you mind?" he raised the box in question then opened it. "Oh ..." inside the box rest a beautiful stone. One who had seen the manaketes' stones would think Zech had snatched one and gifted it to the king. He removed the stone carefully, moving it up against the sun light and instantly myriads of colorful light reflection scattered around the two. "Beautiful ... hm?" and he took notice of the brand insignia engraved there. "Heh, that's very thoughtful of you."

The stone was placed back into the box to keep it safe for the moment. "The festivities--er...I'm glad you didn't. Frederick was making it extremely difficult for everyone." he shook his head, feeling embarrassed.

Lightly tapping the box, "Thank you. It probably took a lot of your time. I hope it was not expensive, though? Ah, right I forgot to ask. Is this something like a tradition back in your own realm?" imagine he was suppose to do something and all Chrom can think of is put it against the light to see the reflections. Ah, how embarrassing it would be. "I hope I was not rude ..."

That aside, he will learn all about it when they got to eat something together. "How about we go to the mess tent? You're not busy right now, yeah? How about we drink for a little bit and chat? It is not for missing on my birthday party, yeah. Mhm." he chuckled lightly. "Heh, come now."

"...You would not happen to be of Jugdral, would you?" Curiosity wins out in the end, and he poses the question, gaze flickering back to the marking in her eye.

The mark of her blood has long concerned her, even after she no longer possessed a reason to disguise it. There is a weight to the fact that, were someone to recognize it, they might not understand why it was shared with the young princess of Ylisse.

That she was the young ( less so, now ) princess of Ylisse.

Though the man before her does not seem to recognize it for that. Lucina blinks, gaze flickering between his sudden offer and his expression, then shakes her head.

"There's no need to apologize. Thank you."

Her own crystal, nearly identical, is offered in turn. She lets the moment of the exchange fill the silence of his following question, quieting her own curiosity. The brand had been recognized before for such a reason-- Lucina remembers the familiarity in Lady Deirdre's gaze like a brand of its own. Something meant for a hero of legend, not for her, and yet offered despite that.

The corners of her lips turn, a small smile.

"No, I am not." The crystal is tucked away. "Though where I am from, it is spoken of in ancient legend. Mine is the brand of the Exalt, it is the mark of Naga." An answer to his unspoken question, though her expression turns a touch sheepish. "If, of course, that is what you were hoping to learn..."

At the top of the spire is a beautiful scene, stars dotting the night sky. Among the stars is Larcei with the best news Lyn has heard all night: an offer to spar. Ever since their last mission together in Rusalka, she had wanted to spar with her. The techniques she used with her sword were astounding, cutting through the air with a flurry of strokes. Neither of them had their swords now, but hand-to-hand sparring sounded fun, too."

"Never. But there's a first time for everything!"

Lyn hikes up the skirts of her dress, tying them up and away from the floor. It isn't a very elegant solution, but it'll do for now. After a brief moment of thought, she kicks off her shoes, as well. She wouldn't want to twist her ankle after finally making it up all of those stairs trying to spar wearing those heels. It would be a long walk back down the stairs, after all.

Obstructions all removed, Lyn holds up her hands in a mirror of Larcei's, although it is the steady resilience of earth that protects her and not the active energy of flames.

She nods firmly, "Alright, don't hold back!"

Been thinking about a postgame scenario that goes in a direction I don't think canon would ever take in a million years, but like... I think it could be really compelling...

And that's the idea of Chrom becoming Plegia's king after Grima's defeat. And specifically giving up his claim to Ylisse's throne to do it (leaving it to Lucina when she's old enough).

Because here's the thing... The game ends with Grima's defeat/Robin's return in the sacrifice ending. It doesn't address what happens to Plegia at all, and while I personally maintain that Aversa is the most qualified candidate to rule, her canon ending provides that she goes back to the village she was born in. So, fine. Let's give her that.

But SOMEONE has to do SOMETHING because realistically, Plegia is in dire straits. Validar, the king and the leader of the Grimleal, is dead. He gave, like, ALL of Plegia's resources to the Ylissean League (well, okay, we don't know how much, if any, he left in reserve, but... He really needed Walhart gone and it's not like he had any reason to think that anyone would need resources once Grima was running around, so... chances are good there's little to nothing left in the wake of the averted apocalypse). And the population has been utterly devastated, because not only did people (exactly how many is unclear, but presumably it took more than just a couple) have to sacrifice themselves to renew the fell dragon's power, but Grima was also spawning Grimleal onto their back at the final battle. Their losses are so immense...

So first of all, Chrom is definitely responsible for taking all their resources and setting half of them on fire (Now to be fair, Flavia and Basilio are also responsible, but... Idk, I kinda feel like they'd bicker with each other over who has to do the crappy parts of the job and then agree that they should just ask Chrom if he can do it. Like "Haha, if you didn't want to deal with thieves ambushing the Longfort to steal construction supplies, you shouldn't have gone and beaten me at the last tournament!" "Oh, shut up. Let's see if Chrom can send his thief friend over to talk these guys down. Or kill them, whichever." I mean, Chrom is always going to be their guy who knows a guy.) There's just no way Chrom would abandon the surviving Plegians who need help anyway, but especially not when he knows the war with Valm would've ended before it could begin without them.

Of course, there's the historical hostility between Ylisse and Plegia to consider, but... If anyone's protesting, it's probably the Ylisseans. Because the survivng Plegians, uh... probably were never Grima's most devoted followers in the first place (if you really wanted to give Grima your life, you'd rush to the front of the line at the Dragon's Table, right?) and even if they used to consider themselves true Grimleal, the religion's leadership is destroyed, and—for the purpose of this scenario, I'm considering it post-sacrifice ending—the fell dragon is gone and not coming back. These people narrowly avoided becoming Grima's breakfast or Grima's meat shields. They all almost certainly know someone who wasn't as lucky. And the one who saved them... Well, it was Chrom, wasn't it? Because he believed in humanity enough to challenge the concept of fate, a fate that the people of Plegia were surely taught was inescapable. Despite their history with Ylisse, it's hardly unreasonable for them to see Chrom as a savior to them specifically. The second coming of the Hero-King who ought for the lives of all humans, really.

And yeah, I'm going here... Chrom is Marth's descendant. Marth was Altean. Former Altea is is modern Plegia, so technically, the people can argue that he's actually theirs.

Doesn't it sort of make sense, even? Plegia is ruined, the god to whom the theocracy was devoted killed. "What we need is to restore the glory of ancient Altea!" And who better to help them than Chrom, Marth's successor in blood and in spirit?

But Chrom would frown and say no. Of course he's going to help them restore their country to prosperity—or at least to independent, peaceful functioning. But king? Sheesh, that's going too far. Come on guys, you don't really want that. Besides, he's already ruling Ylisse...

Except, he's not ruling it as Exalt. At least, not at first he's not. He forswore the title when he started his rule and in canon he is only official welcomed as Exalt after Grima's defeat. But what if he just... continued to not accept it. It's not like he ever wanted to be Exalt. He only has the right to rule because Emmeryn died—because he failed to protect her. It has nothing to do with any of his successes.

But if the Plegians made him their king, then it would be because of his own accomplishments.

And in a way I also can't help but find it heartwarming, because it was the Plegian people who got him to truly understand Emmeryn's ideals. He wanted peace, he wanted to follow her path, but it wasn't until the Plegians took her sacrifice for the peace offer it was and refused to continue fighting Ylisse that Chrom was finally able to comprehend what it meant that Emmeryn believed that all people wanted the same thing, that peace is something for everyone and not just purehearted saints like her who would never hurt a fly. So wouldn't it be sweet to expand on that existing connection? For the people who once bore a grudge against him and his nation to say, actually, our home is your home and you belong with us... For Chrom to reach back and decide that these are his people and that he will protect them...

Especially because that's what he's always done for Robin. Your father doesn't get to determine your path for you, your past doesn't dictate your future, you always have a place beside me because we are two halves of a greater whole. This AU is definitely a chrobin AU, because when Robin gets back I want them to rule at his side (after all, I do have feelings about Grima's loyalty to a people who have been praying to them to end their suffering for a thousand years).

Now, I do think that Chrom would never leave Ylisse while little Lucina was still growing up, but... Honestly it would probably take quite some time to establish a castle for Plegia's new ruler anyway (especially if they go super hard on the Altean revival theme and want it to be IN former Altean territory, which has become the "border wastes" and undoubtedly needs some help... But EVERYWHERE in Plegia needs help, so what better time to give the land some attention?) So when Lucina is an adult she can take over as Ylisse's true Exalt, and Chrom can focus his efforts on the other side of the border. I think he'd still be awkward about the whole thing, approaching it like "Well, I guess I'm here if you all still want me..." but Robin's there to give him confidence and the people there are SO excited for their hero to come and live with them and together they all usher in a new era of peace and prosperity as Ylisse and Plegia themselves become like two halves of a greater whole.

What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? anything that significantly alters the relationship between two characters. even better if it's for the worse really i do enjoy antagonistic relationships. but yeah i loooove developing relationships between muses. especially with a muse that barely trusts anyone besides themself. yuri never does what i want them anyway to do so it's great for me, really

Favorite TOA-related memories? est & sirius getting their attacks redirected at one another and whiffing all of them always makes me laugh. the harmony lance phalanx strats were also funny i do think fondly of that arena. happyland was really fun though one of my favorite events so far for sure :] i blow a kiss to north island yuri's home away from home & east island week 4
