পাইলস কী?আমাদের পায়ুর চারপাশে নরম স্পঞ্জের মতো টিস্যু থাকে যেগুলো কিছু রক্তনালীর মাধ্যমে রক্ত সরবরাহ পায়। এই স্পঞ্জি টিস্যু গুলোকে এনাল কুশন বলে। এই কুশনগুলো আমাদের পায়ু বন্ধ করতে সাহায্য করে। কিন্তু কিছু কিছু কারণে এগুলো ফুলে যায় এবং পাইলস তৈরী করে।পাইলস দেখতে ছোট গোলাকার ফোলার মতো। রোগীরা এই ফোলা অনুভব করতে পারে অথবা মনে হয় যেন পায়খানার রাস্তা থেকে কিছু ঝুলে আছে।

পাইলসের কারণ:

পায়ুপথের রক্তনালী ফুলে গেলে পাইলস হয়। পাইলসের কারণ হতে পারে:

১. কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য:যারা দীর্ঘমেয়াদি কোষ্ঠকাঠি নেব কেন তাদের পাইলস হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা খুব বেশি। কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্যে ভোগা রোগীরা যখন পায়খানায় যায় তখন পায়খানা করার জন্য অতিরিক্ত চাপ প্রয়োগ করতে হয় যার কারণে পাইলস হয়।

২. দীর্ঘমেয়াদি ডায়রিয়া:যারা অনেক সময় ধরে বা দীর্ঘদিন ধরে ডায়রিয়া রোগে ভোগে তাদেরও পাইলস সবার সম্ভাবনা থাকে। ঠিক যেমন কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্যের রোগীদের ক্ষেত্রে পায়খানায় গিয়ে অতিরিক্ত চাপ প্রয়োগ করতে হয়, একই কারণে ডায়রিয়া রোগীদেরও পাইলস হতে পারে।

৩. বৃদ্ধ বয়স:বয়স বাড়ার সাথে সাথে পাইলস সম্ভাবনা বাড়তে থাকে। কারণ বয়স বাড়ার সাথে সাথে পায়ের পথের মাংসপেশি নরম বা দুর্বল হতে থাকে।

৪. দীর্ঘমেয়াদি কাশি:যাদের একটানা অনেক দিন ধরে কাশি আছে, তাদের ক্ষেত্রেও পাইলস হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা থাকে।

৫. ভারী বস্তু উত্তোলন:ভারী বস্তু উত্তোলনের কাজের সাথে যারা জড়িত তাদের ক্ষেত্রেও পাইলস হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা থাকে।
