Since I'm still so into Phantom of the Opera right now. I don't want to argue with theatre nerds and the particular reason is that because there should be no argument when talking about interpretation because the nature of spontaneity in theatre. It's different with movie where there can only be one interpretation which is what is shown in movie like I have once fighting with Star Wars fans over sequels and Reylo (ugh). But here me out.
In 25th anniversary, some comments about Hadley Fraser's Raoul is that he doesn't have enough chemistry with Christine. He looks so oblivious to everything and look down on everyone with the slight cockiness. But it's because Hadley Fraser IS oblivious about everything. At that moment prior to being in 25th anniversary he never play in Phantom of the Opera (and still haven't other than for this performance to this day when I write this post) and never even watch a single show. I imagine his acting is fully based on the book and director. We often blinded by a dashing Raoul since Steve Barton era but he is actually still a jerk. Neither Erik or Raoul is good for Christine. Hadley wasn't influenced by any version of Raoul so he delivered exactly as it is written in the book.
Edit: and that for me makes Hadley's Raoul as the most genuine version.
Like Hadley, I also still wonder why they chose him. Was it because Ramin's input? Or was it because he made perfect Grantaire to Ramin's Enjolras in Les Mis 25 a year before which Cameron Mackintosh be thinking 'you know what, let's do weird stunt casting'? Was it that reason add together with him being cameo in Les Mis movie?
#also add the fact that ramin and sierra chemistry is like lab explosion#which would overshadow other chemistries#and if i listened to every interview of him talking about poto 25 is that he still had no clue why he was even there and what did he do#and in the style of harrison ford be like yea so what no big deal it's only 3 shows don't get too sweat my fans#bless this man really honestly#raoul de chagny#hadley fraser#the phantom of the opera#poto 25#at this moment i have put this show inside my mind literally#my ramblings

2:22 - A Ghost Story began in summer 2021 at the Noël Coward Theatre, starring Lily Allen, Julia Chan, Hadley Fraser and Jake Wood, and where it won the WhatsOnStage award for Best Play. It then transferred to the Gielgud Theatre for 10 weeks from 4 December 2021. The production there starring Stephanie Beatriz, James Buckley, Elliot Cowan and Giovanna Fletcher completed its run on 12 February 2022. For the first season at the Criterion (May - September 2022) the cast was Tom Felton, Mandip GIll, Sam Swainsbury and Beatriz Romilly. In late September Laura Whitmore, Matt Willis, Felix Scott and Tamsin Carroll took over.
The box office record-breaking run at the Lyric starring Cheryl, Jake Wood, Scott Karim, and Louise Ford, concluded its run on 23 April. The West End season at the Apollo Theatre starred Sophia Bush, Frankie Bridge, Ricky Champ, Clifford Samuel and Jaime Winstone, and set off on its UK tour in Autumn 2023 with Joe Absolom, Charlene Boyd, Nathaniel Curtis and Louisa Lytton in the cast. Current cast on the UK tour: Vera Chok (Lauren); Jay McGuiness (Ben); George Rainsford (Sam); Fiona Wade (Jenny).
2:22 is written by award-winning writer Danny Robins, creator of the hit BBC podcast The Battersea Poltergeist, and is directed by Matthew Dunster and Isabel Marr; it’s an adrenaline-filled night where secrets emerge and ghosts may or may not appear…
Danny Robins said: ‘I'm really looking forward to seeing how Dublin audiences respond to 2:22 this summer. The tour continues to be a great success and I can't think of a better place to round off the journey in 2024 than here with a brand new cast to be announced soon!'
What do you believe? And do you dare discover the truth?
“THERE’S SOMETHING IN OUR HOUSE. I HEAR IT EVERY NIGHT, AT THE SAME TIME"
Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up... until 2:22... and then they’ll know.
2:22 - A Ghost Story features set design by Anna Fleischle, costume design by Cindy Lin, lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound by Ian Dickinson for Autograph Sound and illusions by Chris Fisher. Casting by Matilda James.
2:22 - A Ghost Story is produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, Isobel David and Kater Gordon. [source]

His childhood home was in Hartley Avenue and he left the home when he finally hit 18, he couldn’t stand to be around them anymore and moved into a trailer on Hadley Park.

location : the hospital, 2 weeks ago, after hadley’s rescue
the past twenty four hours had been grueling, all coming to a head when angel and jackson finally arrived at where the sick fuck that had taken hadley was hiding out. and while jackson was relieved that there was not a single scratch on the little girl he loved more than life itself, that didn’t excuse the fact that biological father dared to take what was jackson’s. blood or not, hadley was his, it was a truth he had been denying for eleven years, claiming fun uncle status, the best friend of her mother, but as the man who bought hadley into the world spat bitter words of ‘you’re not her father you have no right to her’ at jackson, he saw red, beating the man to a pulp, rewarded with his own battle scars - a busted lip, a black eye, bloody knuckles and scattered bruises before the police busted in and took the man that was responsible for all of this. and jackson would make sure he’d rot forever. but now, all he wanted was to get hadley back in mallory’s arms. he sat in the backseat of the cop car with hadley in his lap, her small body nestled against him and face hiding in the crook of his neck as he held her tight, trying his best to sooth her, to let her know that everything was okay the entire ride over to the hospital. and when they finally arrived and jackson exited the car, the pair was immediately bombarded by a swarm of doctors ready to take the little girl from him, which only made him hold her tighter. “she’s fine. she sees her mother before anyone else. understood?” he said, voice eerily calm and look on his face telling the staff to not stand in his way as they parted like the red sea for him as he made his way into mallory’s room, sigh of relief as he stepped through the doorframe, seeing mallory sitting there with ford and felicity. “i told you the next time you saw me i’d have her in my arms.”

This autumn is set to deliver an exciting array of cultural offerings across literature, film, art, and fashion, with themes spanning dystopian futures, family dynamics, mid-life reflections, and political intrigue.
In Imagined Futures, expect thought-provoking narratives with Tim Winton’s Juice and Ali Smith’s Gliff. Wayne McGregor’s ballet MaddAddam, based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian trilogy, envisions life after bio-engineered disaster. On the big screen, Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis and Dreamworks' The Wild Robot tackle futuristic worlds. Meanwhile, designers Rick Owens and Fendi embrace utopian aesthetics in their autumn/winter 2024 collections, while Tate Modern’s Electric Dreams showcases five decades of artists' visions of the future.
Family Matters feature prominently this season, with Sally Rooney’s Intermezzo and Tessa Hadley’s The Party exploring sibling relationships. Netflix’s His Three Daughters and Fatma Aydemir’s Djinns delve into family tensions, while Jean Strouse’s Family Romance explores John Singer Sargent’s family portraits.
Mid-Life Stories offer reflections on ageing with Neneh Cherry’s memoir A Thousand Threads and Gail Crowth’s Dorothy Parker in Hollywood. In fiction, Virginie Despentes’ Dear Dickhead provides an irreverent look at mid-life, while the comedy My Old Ass blends humour with themes of growing older.
As Awards Season approaches, literary giants like Alan Hollinghurst, Richard Powers, and Haruki Murakami release new novels. In film, Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II leads the charge, with Alfonso Cuarón’s Disclaimer and Pedro Almodóvar’s The Room Next Door following suit. Steve McQueen’s Blitz opens the London Film Festival.
This season also sees a surge in Origin Stories, with biopics like A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan, and The Apprentice with Sebastian Stan. HBO's The Penguin and Barry Jenkins’ Mufasa: The Lion King breathe new life into beloved franchises.
On the political front, State of the Nations narratives stand out, with Jonathan Coe’s The Proof of My Innocence and Michel Houellebecq’s Annihilation. Espionage takes center stage with The Day of the Jackal and Conclave, while Netflix’s The Diplomat returns for a second season.
Emerging Rising Stars like actor Adam Pearson and singer Flowerovlove are set to shine across music, fashion, and the arts, ensuring a culturally rich autumn ahead.

"yeah, if i had a fucking dime for every time i heard that." she said with a scoffed, humorless laugh, shaking her head in disbelief. ford, travis, and every man in between, had looked at her as nothing but a place to rest their heads when things got hard. their brokenness was merely a phase for them and once they were over it, she was left in the dust with another piece of her heart taken away to never be returned again, leaving her more void than she was before. she had done this song and dance so many times, with people who broke down her walls and promised her they'd never leave - but where were they all now? her body is too numb from everything she had taken to realize she was shaking, bottom lip quivering as he grabbed her chin, trying her best to keep it together as their eyes met, but it was no use. god, she hated crying in front of people. she hated being seen as weaker than she already was, but she had been holding it back since she told mallory to fuck off over the phone and she couldn't hide it anymore. "she left." she choked out quietly, tears liberally streaming down her cheeks. "mallory left. and she was the only person who when she said she was never going to leave, i believed. and now she's gone, she's living happily ever after with a fucking jackass that doesn't even deserve her and i'm all alone. her and hadley were all i had. she left. and i hate her." she ranted. shaky breath leaving her as she shook her head, crying so much at this point that she couldn't look him in the eyes, squeezing her eyes shut as she bought her hands up to cover her face. "i fucking hate her."
he wondered when the time would come, that he would be the one trying to hide something and she could see him so clearly. when they had been in venice, he had thought that was as open as they would get with each other, just two strangers letting it all out but it seemed to more he knew her, the more she unravelled the broken pieces of him and exposed them, like each bit of her own mess she shared caused something in him to bare to. "yes! yes that's exactly what it is felicity, i don't have to explain and i don't have to apologise, i get to be mad at all the things i should be grateful for and you don't judge me for being pissed at that, you getting it makes me feel so much better actually it's scary as hell actually." like he'd found a kindred spirit, an actual friend who saw him for the mistakes he'd made and the problems he had and didn't tell him that it was possible to heal or get over it, who just let him be. the switch in her though, was enough for him to note, she was so obviously triggered he would have laughed at the display if she hadn't been crying. push them away before they hurt you. he'd seen that more times than he could count. "look at me, hey." stepping into her space he let his hand catch her chin again, pulling her eyes to his. and maybe it was the molly she had slipped him at was causing the surge in feelings but he would have done anything to protect her from whatever was making her feel like this right now. "what happened?"

(December 20, 1933 - September 14, 2020)
San Francisco has lost its grand patron of the arts and culture, on September 14th, Mrs. Ann Getty passed away at 79 from a heart attack.
Besides running a design business, In 1995 she founded her design firm, Ann Getty & Associates, Mrs. Ann Getty founded a San Francisco preschool and helped raise funds for numerous nonprofits, including the University of California, San Francisco, the San Francisco Symphony, Benioff Children’s Hospitals, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, the San Francisco Opera, the Leakey Foundation and the Napa Valley Festival.
