they are someone we all disagree with, but they also joined the community before we knew we disagreed with them, and they are someone who is clearly going through a lot of things

Mental illness doesn't excuse someone being an asshole. But assholes STILL deserve mental help. It doesn't matter how much you hate them or how unlikable they are. They are still a person.

thinking for the millionth billionth time about Dick seeing Bruce as more of a brother-figure with a hint of kind-of dad blended in there.

Bruce being so young and stunted because of his trauma, he was still growing up as he raised Dick.

Horror is the one who sleeps most while he can me thinks. So, sometimes, in the most far state from canon maybe, he drags Killer to sleep with him.

Killer almost never sleeps just lays over Horror until he is awake again 🙏 lazying is not on his usual habits.

Maybe being inactive for hours has helped him to know his body would collapse in any moment? so he stays. Sometimes, he leaves after a while.

The booktuber, KrimsonRogue, explained present tense to me pretty well. Present tense is when the narrator only knows what is happening in the moment. Past tense is when the narrator knows what’s going to happen.

Think Hunter Games. The story is in present tense, but we only know so far as what Katniss knows. We learn with her.

Past is good for putting the important things on screen. The narrator knows what is needed to be known and shares it. This means trivial information might be left out (like the material of the drapes). A present narrator would not know what is important and so remark on what they see at that moment (in which the drapes might be commented on because that’s the narrators thoughts).

I am thinking about fan fiction writers, but anyone who writes any kind of fiction can answer. (As far as I’m aware, non-fiction is usually written in the past tense - but if I’m wrong do let me know!)

When I was young I gathered that all serious works of fiction were written in the past tense (past tense third person to be precise) so that is what i did when I started writing. However my mind was blown by the power and immediacy of Margaret Atwood writing in the present tense so I started to experiment with it myself, and now i strongly favour it. I get the impression that past is still the most commonly used, but I’m prepared to be surprised!

remembering one of the times i was getting evaluated by a therapist to determine if i was "really trans" or not or whatever and he was like "so if you transitioned to male, how would you dress differently?"

and i was like "i.. dont know. I wouldnt?"

and he looked at me blankly and wrote something down and said "really? you wouldnt wear anything more masculine?"

and i realized i'd given the wrong answer so I just said "I would... wear... suits?"

and he smiled and wrote something else down like "ah! yes"
