How does aging in the cars universe work?

Because both Jackson Storm and Cruz said that they grew up watching lightning race

Let’s say the first movie takes place in 2006

In the first movie almost everybody calls Lightning McQueen kid at one point but by the third one they’re calling him an old man

Which in our time is only 11 years (cuz cars 3 came out 2017) but y’know time definitely passed (idk how much tho)

So Cruz and Jackson might have been kids when they were watching Lightning

And that part makes sense

But the problem here is doc

Here it says he dies in 2009 and he was in his mid fifties

Let’s say in 2006 he was 55

2006-55 is 1951

Which means he was born in 1951, which is the year his car is modeled off

But he also won his first piston cup in 1951??

So if that’s the case, then doc was never a kid, he was made and then started racing which doesn’t make any sense
