Remembering Dabney Coleman 1932-2024
Actor Dabney Coleman has died at 92. He was quite a scene-stealing character actor over several decades. Notable films included the judge in Jonathan Demme's Melvin and Howard, the boss in 9 to 5, the TV director in Tootsie (one of many collaborations he did with Sydney Pollack), Young Doctors in Love, Modern Problems, WarGames (talk about a movie that was ahead of its time with AI concerns), Cloak & Dagger (a movie I loved as a kid), The Muppets Take Manhattan (another one I loved as a kid), Dragnet (OMG - yet another one I loved as a tween), Hot to Trot, and You've Got Mail.
The link above is the obit from Hollywood Reporter.

I'm sure it's been said a million times already but the thing that drives me up the wall about the whole "AsHlEy Is SpAcE rAcIsT!1!" thing is that in Mass Effect humans are not the dominant species in the galactic community. They have little structural power in the beginning, and structural power actually matters like... a lot, when you're going to talk about an in-universe prejudice as racism. I feel like people are so used to scifi/fantasy settings where humans are the ones with power over others that they behave as though this is the case even when the worldbuilding is very explicit about how it isn't here. Asari, turians, and salarians are the ones with the sociopolitical power. Not humans. Humans have zero representation on the Council in ME1. Humans are relative newcomers to the galactic community, and their first contact with other species was turians firing on them without warning or negotiation for trying to reactivate a mass relay (which they had no idea was against Citadel law because they had no idea the Citadel or the Council existed), forcing the Council to step in and negotiate peace before more lives were lost. Ashley's concern is about allowing access to cutting edge Alliance military tech to people who within living memory would have been considered enemy combatants, because again, turian forces attacked an unknown alien race on sight with no warning and no attempt to negotiate, and in spite of this it's humanity that gained a reputation as aggressive. Funny how that works, right--it works because turians are the ones with structural power in this setting, not humans.
And that's all before we even get into how Ashley grows and changes if you let her live to see ME3. This is all just where we are at the start.

So when we open up, we, we had Nick dancing around in a woman's coat that was accidentally sent to their apartment. He does this dance in it. I think he spins twirl and does like a thing that I always forgot that that's where he, I I believe that's where he did it first. But he's done that dance. I, I believe on numerous occasions that's like a, a go-to Jake Johnson move. But for some reason in that coat there was a certain flare he had about himself. -Lamorne
Yeah. He was feeling it. And I also feel like low key. Jake Johnson did not hate that coat. -Hannah

What if in Devil Bastard au Alastor's shadow is like Razzle and Dazzle meant to keep Lucifer's *child* safe only Luci never really specified which child and well shadow ended up with Alastor.
That sounds like a fun idea, but to be frank, Alastor's shadow just doesn't seem like something Lucifer would make. His tastes lean a lot more, um...

Cutesy.
I do like the idea of one of Lucifer's creations seeking out Alastor on their own though! Something that, like Razzle and Dazzle, appears small and adorable most of the time but is capable of taking on a bigger, more monstrous form when its charge is in danger. The creature probably was a prototype, or something Lucifer set aside in favor of Razzle and Dazzle and let gather dust. But when it sensed one of Lucifer's children in Hell, on his own, it did what it was designed to do and sought him out! Lucifer never even noticed its absence from his workshop (probably because it had been buried under a pile of ducks).
Personally, I think it would be hilarious if this creation had the appearance of a dog. A more animalistic hellhound than Beelzebub's people. A tiny, cute, fluffy puppy with black fur and six legs and a little set of horns on its head. When it thinks Alastor's in danger, however, it turns into a behemoth, with reptilian legs and a forked, serpentine tail and spear-like teeth that protrude out of its mouth.
Alastor does not care for the little beast when it first comes to him. He's not scared of dogs, per se, but he certainly doesn't like them. No matter how he tries to shoo or ditch the little creature, though, it won't go away.
Then he gets into his first turf war after the little dog shows up and it unveils its second form, ripping apart Alastor's enemies in moments. And, well...
Sure, he could have taken care of the small fry himself. But far be it from him to turn away a useful minion! So when it comes trotting over in puppy form, blood dripping from its maw, Alastor doesn't turn it away. He decides to name it Nicasius.

i do think that there was supposed to be a collective “oh no they got hot while we were separated” with ned dayne arya and gendry once arya gets back to the riverlands. dangling in arya’s face two wildly different boys she used to know, who are both genuinely crazy about her for who she is and care about the same things she does, and they both had the audacity to grow up hot.

I was watching the cast commentary on House of Wax and on the part where they show a brief clip of the gas station basement scene Brian is telling Elisha something like "Shhh you'll be alright don't worry about anything okay?" then kisses the top of her head before gluing her mouth and I'm imagining if that was kept in like WOW all Bo knows is murderfuck dungeon, mommy issues and lie
LITCHERALLY that is ALL he knows!!! 😔💀
his mind is like a dented big gulp cup from 7/11. w/mold ringing the rim. and a bullet hole in the bottom. stick some got damn duct tape on that shit, boy!!!
