i definitely want to see them be a little “formal” with each other as if they’re not friends and they’re only working together to help the person they’re looking for or like an agreement like what if Ty says “i need your help with this and after we can go our separate ways” but all they were supposed to be is partners so Kit distances himself from Ty since they’re gonna separate sooner than later and Ty is also distancing himself because he feels awkward or guilty that he dragged him into his mess but by the end they’re back to being friends since they both like each other but i think it’ll hurt more if Ty finds out that Kit is the last Heir after they kiss and make up because it’ll hurt more since he lied and i think that would drive a wedge between them and i highly doubt the trilogy will end without Kit getting kidnapped by faeries so i think that after it’s revealed he’s the last heir Kit and Ty are kinda quiet around each other but still show they care and want to be with the other but still need to talk and work things out and that’s when Kit gets kidnapped either in the first or second book but if it were the second book that would be what prevents them from being together in the second book or if it happens in the first them they would reunite at the end and make up until whatever catastrophe happens in tlpoh

i think Ty and Kits relationship in tlkof will be very awkward and distant and very much trying to hide how much they care about the other like looking at the other then quickly looking away when they notice but every now and then they will say or do something that shows they care and i think Kit will help Ty when he’s getting anxiety attacks like they’re distant and cold with each other and then Ty having issues is what brings them together for a little while and then after they will move on and pretend like nothing happened and just think Kit will feel guilty the entire book up to the point where Ty finds out that he’s the heir and in my opinion i think Ty should find out when they’re being attacked like the riders or faeries come to attack and they reveal he’s the heir and Ty is mad at Kit for not telling him and the fact that he didn’t flinch when the faeries revealed that indicated that Kit already knew and kept it from Ty and this would lead to their big argument and Kit says something along the lines of “i couldn’t tell you because we weren’t exactly on friendly terms” and then Ty asks why he left or smth which then brings up what Kit said in qoaad and while they’re arguing Kit mentions something like if Ty knew he was the heir he would be in danger because only a few people know he’s the heir and that he was trying to “protect” him or smth and then Ty kisses him

hi!! i’m wondering just how many people know about kit being the first heir going into TLKOF? in SOBH round tom knew from the start, can we assume there are other faeries who have interacted with kit and the information is starting to spread? (on that note, is there a reason why faeries didn’t recognize him at the shadowmarket prior to the events of TDA?)

Caveat: I have Covid so I am somewhat feverish. Hopefully nothing I say is totally incoherent.

Hello! I can't tell you exactly how many people know about Kit's heritage and who they are, as that would be a major spoiler for TWP. Certainly his family and friends are trying to keep a tight lid on the information, but secrets can be hard to keep.

When Round Tom met Kit, he could obviously tell that Kit had fey heritage (he referred to him as "cousin") and that Kit had an important/royal vibe about him ("he did a little thing where he jumped in a circle and made some odd gestures in the air, then bowed towards me"), but there's no indication that Round Tom knows exactly who he is or what his deal is, and as a faerie who doesn't concern himself with politics, Tom would be unlikely to. General Winter, on the other hand, does know, but has likely been sworn to secrecy by Kieran. It would only be very ancient and powerful faeries who know a lot of history (and maybe even knew Auraline, like Mother Hawthorn did) who could recognize Kit for what he is on sight. None of the faeries Kit interacted with at the Shadow Market in L.A. fit the bill.

The Redemption of Anush Joshi

TWP is going to be a series where characters go through personal journeys to reach something for themselves. For Kit and Dru I think it might be a journey to realize that they are enough, that they are loved, and that they are powerful in their own right. For Ash it might be a journey of finding who he really is. The Seelie Queen's son? Sebastien Morgenstern's son? The one to summon wicked powers?

But for Ty and Anush I believe it will be a journey towards redemption. Ty for raising Livvy and Anush for being part of the Cohort. For this reason, I think we might see an Anush who is haunted by his past but gradually learns to live with it because he knows he's not that person anymore. This is why, to me, he will be willing to put anything on the line in TWP to support a mission. In TLKOF it might look like staying up absurdly late and skipping classes to be in the library to support Ty and Kit by finding useful information while they're on their roadtrip/mission. In the rest of the series I can picture it as doing anything to protect the others around him.

The guilt he has will be an ongoing storyline for him, I feel. Imagine the first time he meets Kieran face to face again? Imagine when he eventually has to battle against the Cohort in Idris?

"Enough," she said. "Stop it, all of you. And I'm especially ashamed of you Anush," she added, shooting her cousin a dark look. "You know what it's like to be treated unfairly. When your mother finds out..." Anush let Kieran go with a shove. He landed at the edge of the pool with a grunt of agony. Move away from the water, Diego thought, but Kieran was clearly wounded; he knelt in place, dazed and gasping. "We're just having a little fun," protested Anush.

But through it all, his friends like Ty (and hopefully the rest of the TWP gang) will make him realize that he doesn't have to let that guilt define him. I think those friends will be the key to the most important redemption he can find. The redemption he has to grant his own self.

Just read the first TLKOF chapter…. I cannot wait 2 years that’s literally torture!!!! This all reminds me of the terrible stretch between LOS and QOAAD

Some smaller things I noted that I haven’t seen other people mention:

- The man calling for Ash was probably Janus?

- I love Luke so much I’m so happy we see him and Jocelyn again

- I know Faerie time works differently but is there a possibility she spent more time with Ash but forgot the rest?

- Ash doesn’t have any marks? I swear I thought he did but Dru didn’t notice any and I guess it makes sense he never got marked because they stopped working in Thule

- Dru dyes her hair black and has it short but all the official art has her with longer brown hair and blue streak (maybe she had that in the past idk)

- I know CC said that one of the first scenes would be Dru and Thais watching Simon’s band play at the pandemonium- i wonder if that’s still going to be the case? Either that’s in the prologue but I feel like the prologue would also end with a cliffhanger and I doubt both the prologue and chapter 1 would have big cliffhangers. But would the band scene come after this? How do you recover from being missing for 3 days and then going to an all-ages club in new york? OH WAIT I think Julian and Emma are supposed to be there too so maybe that’s why they’re all in New York? Maybe they go to the institute to research and end up joining the TMI gang?

yeah the wait is going to be INTENSE but we will have things like better in black to tide us over so hopefully that will be enough

Luke & Jocelyn being included so early on so was shocking even tho I knew they would play a role in the book given Ash. I'm excited to see more of them & see scenes like them meeting Ash for the first time!!

I have no idea what is going on with Dru but it's clearly something is. idk if she spent more time with Ash but something is up with her & faerie.

maybe he's hiding his marks?? I can't imagine they would go over super well in the courts so they're all easily concealable with clothing. I wonder if he has a voyance rune if that's the case??

I thought maybe she dyes the streaks later on in book?? also it like just occurred that there might be a time jump and that could explain it too. bc I think this chapter was actually the prologue so maybe that's how they end up in NYC??

Hi! I saw that you also ordered books from the kickstarter :) I am pretty confused about the whole situation but when the SOBH copy gets shipped to us, will it come with the first chapter of TLKOF? Or is that a separate item that will be shipped later? I have no clue when I’ll even get my copy of SOBH

hey! YES! when u get ur first package u will receive sobh, thomas’ journal and tlkof chapter (in a sampler format so like a mini booklet really) + any other additional things u got (like if u bought the tarot cards, magnus plushie, parabatai pins etc.) <3

as for when u will get it, i got an email with an update (the one above!) a week ago saying they will start shipping them out this week, so if ur in the u.s. ig u should expect it SOON! but if you’re somewhere else, then definitely u will have to wait a bit longer (sucks ik) but hopefully it will be with us both soon! :)

based on the kickstarter and ever single other time tsc books have been delayed, spring 2026 is an OPTIMISTIC time frame for tlkof to come out, like i do not believe that im going to have that book until probably fall 2026

spring 2026 is pretty vague so I think it's definitely possible to be published then. plus traditional publishing is a totally different beast so hopefully they stick to their deadlines 😭

however the fact she's at a new publisher does give me hope bc twp went to auction right? like people were fighting to publish it which means they have already invested a ton of money into it, and will really want it to succeed. I forget what the new imprint is but I think it's at penguin random house which is also where Sword catcher's imprint is & that did publish on schedule. idk I can't help but hope, it's been so long already I can't imagine waiting even longer
