Chainsaw Man ch.40-47
🎶Pu-ma man/ When will he find love? (Pu-ma man)🎶
We have now reached the Reze arc, which is the longest one thus far. I get a sense of importance from this one, although it kind of repeats a lot of the same situations we've seen before.
Last time, Makima took Denji out on a date, and reassured him that he does indeed have a heart. Denji's been riding that high ever since, because it's been troubling him for a while now that he might be losing his sense of empathy and other emoitons, but apparently all he needed was Makima to tell him "nuh-uh" and he's fine.
On his way home, it starts raining, and he takes shelter inside a... well, it looks kind of like one of those covered bus stop benches, except it's much smaller, like it's only meant for one person. Then a woman ducks inside with him and she starts laughing, then crying. She says it's because Denji's face reminds her of her recently deceased pet dog.
Denji donated money to some charity collection on the street, and they gave him a flower in return, so he gives this to the woman to cheer her up. Well, he pretends to cough it up from his mouth. On the first reading, I thought he had actually swallowed it, because I wouldn't put it past him.
When the rain lets up, she invites him to the coffee shop where she works so she can thank him properly sometime, and he has nothing better to do so he just heads straight there. He actually makes it in before she does, but she's happy to see him so she just buys him a coffee and sits with him, even though she's supposed to be waiting tables.
So it's basically what we've seen before with Makima and Himeno. Denji meets a girl who acts nice to him, and he immediately falls in love with her. The only real twist this time is that he decided after the date with Makima that he's devoting himself to here, so now he's falling for this girl, Reze, and he feels like he's in a love triangle now.
And what makes this internal conflict so sad is that neither girl actually cares about him the way he thinks. We'll get to Reze later, but I think it's pretty clear that Makima is just stringing Denji along to fulfill some greater plan she has. She told him from the start that he was her pet, and she spends time with him and tells him reassuring things, but only enough to ensure his continued loyalty and good behavior. I can't prove it, but at the same time it seems incredibly obvious.
Let's check in on... ugh... Aki. All the Devil Hunters in Public Safety work in pairs, and Aki's current "Buddy" is the Angel Devil. I thought the Angel Devil was a girl, but turns out I was wrong. Denji thought the same thing too, so I guess I'm not the only one.
Aki loathes Devils on principle, since he considers them the enemy, and he only tolerates them in Public Safety as tools and weapons for hunting down other devils. He doesn't want this assignment, but Makima orders him to do it, because she believes the Angel Devil will prove useful. She told Aki he doesn't have to like the guy, but he does need to at least pretend to get along with him.
But Aki can't even manage that. Angel Devil doesn't really want to do anything. He's considered to be friendly towards humans, at least by devil standards, but he doesn't like being forced to work for Public Safety, and when Aki reminds him that he'll be killed if he doesn't do a good job, Angel Devil concludes that he'd rather die, honestly.
Also, there's a scene where they find a half-digested Devil Hunter inside a devil Aki killed, and Aki asks Angel Devil to use his powers to give the poor guy a painless death, and Angel Devil refuses to do even that, so Aki has to do it himself. So yeah, these two seem to be completely irreconcilable. Aki resented Denji and Power for their unprofessional personalities, but at least they could follow orders.
This is the part of the program where I usually rag on Aki for being a total chump who just lets the plot passively wash over him like a turd in a sewer, but this arc actually goes somewhere with him, so that's a fun thing to look forward to.
Back to Denji, he keeps coming back to the same cafe to see Reze, and when she finds out he never went to school or learned to read, she suggests that they sneak into a school in the middle of the night so she can show him what it's like. Or, I don't know, maybe Japanese schools leave their doors unlocked at night, so this is a popular dating activity.
Reze tries to convince Denji that it's kind of fucked up that he never got to go to school, and that seems to stress him out, so she takes him to the pool and offers to teach him how to swim. She also convinces him to skinny dip, since it's too dark out for them to really see all the nudity.
But then it starts raining, and they go back inside to wait for it to let up. Reze excuses herself to use the restroom, when...
... She runs into this guy, who chases her up to the roof of the school. His exact deal is never made clear, but he's got a contract with the Typhoon Devil, who wants the Chainsaw's heart. He's apparently had experience with these kinds of jobs, and he's had success using targets' loved ones against them. So his plan here is to take Reze captive and use her as bait for Denji.
This doesn't work out the way he expected, as Reze turns out to be more formidable than he expected. She gets behind him and applies a rear naked choke. Then she just starts singing in Russian while he dies. The song is apparently called "Jane Fell Asleep In the Church", and it's also the title of Chapter 43, where this scene takes place. When I google the song, all I find are Chainsaw Man references, including fans asking if this was a real song or something Tatsuki Fujimoto invented for this story.
Once she's finished with that, Reze confronts the Typhoon Devil, accusing him of causing this rain that forced her and Denji back into the school. Typhoon apologizes profusely, as he had no idea she was involved here, but she offers to excuse him if she assists her from here on. Also, she wants him to dispose of the guy she just killed. How do these two even know each other?
Reze says nothing to Denji about the incident on the roof, and invites him to a festival. As they watch fireworks, she asks him to run away with her so he can get out of the Devil Hunter life, but he refuses. His job is going very well lately, and he doesn't want to give that up. This is significant because up until now Denji just appreciated his job for the food and shelter he got out of it, but now he seems to feel a sense of attachment to Public Safety, and not just because he thinks his boss will have sex with him later.
I guess what I'm saying here is that Denji seems to have developed an appreciation for his career in the abstract sense. He's good at the work, and he takes some professional pride out of it, and he feels recognized for his efforts. Reze's whole argument for leaving is that he should be in school and getting more out of life than the bare minimum, but that kind of backfires, because her saying that forces Denji to realize that he already has more than the bare minimum. He just hadn't been thinking of it that way because his ambitions were so low.
Reze concludes that Denji must like someone else, so she goes in for a kiss, maybe to say goodbye, and then...
She... bites off the end of his tongue? I mean, that's creepy as fuck, but wha--? Denji realizes he's under attack, but she he goes to pull his rip cord, Reze pulls a knife and lops off his left hand. What are knives made of in this world?
I guess this is an effective enough way to take down Denji. I mean, he can't transform and he can't call for help, but still, if Reze's trying to kill this guy, you'd think she would have gone for the hands first. I guess I shouldn't tell her how to do her job. Her boss at the cafe keep scolding her, but she got Denji to come back several days in a row for lunch, so she clearly knows how to draw customers. Whom am I to tell her how to kill people.
But she forgot one thing: Denji's assigned buddy, Beam, the Shark Fiend. We met this guy in the last arc, and Makima paired these two off while she was having Power's excess blood drained off. Beam's powers allow him to swim through solid materials, and in fact he was nearby most of the time, trailing Denji discreetly by swimming in the road. When this arc begins, we see the fin on his head following Denji, and he even pops up and Denji chews him out for revealing himself. For whatever reason, Beam seems fanatically devoted to "Lord Chainsaw", and so when Denji ordered him to keep a low profile, he obeyed. And so he kept such a low profile that Reze never noticed he was around until now.
So Reze escalates things by pulling the ring on her choker, which turns out to be a grenade pin? Uh-oh.
So what is this? Bomb Woman? Bomb Devil? Bomb Fiend? What's weird is that a lot of these characters have the same basic concept for their powers, but there's all these unique explanations for how they got this way. Beam and Chainsaw Man look a like, but Beam is a Shark Devil who inhabited a corpse, while Chainsaw Man is the result of Denji merging with Pochita. Angel Devil isn't merged with any humans at all, live or dead, but he just happens to look like a human.
So Reze could be any of these things, or something else entirely, and I think the answer is going to turn out to be "something else entirely". I just noticed her apron thing is covered in sticks of dynamite, so that's pretty badass.
So from here, it's a pretty standard Chainsaw Man battle. Reze quickly catches up with Beam, who tries to defend his "lord", but he's hopelessly outmatched. The only reason he manages to escape with Denji is that some civilian Devil Hunters from the festival notice all the exploisions and come to deal with her. But she's a lot stronger than the devils they're used to fighting, so she makes short work of them. Still, it's enough time for Beam to escape to...
... Well, I don't know where this is, actually. It's some facility used by Public Safety, and Aki happens to be there, so when Beam shows up with Denji and claims to be with the Special Division they get Aki to vouch for them.
Beam can barely speak, but he reports that "Bomb" is an ally of the Gun Devil. Aki wants to know how he could know this, but Beam says Makima made him promise not to answer this.
Reze isn't far behind, and she tries to use her human form to trick Public Safety into siding with her against Beam, but it doesn't work. Two of their guys try to hold her off while Aki and Angel take Beam and Denji away in a car.
So these guys have power to infect a target with mold or something, which seems to stymie Reze for a bit, but then she removes her own head and tosses it into the building like a grenade. That's pretty wild, but we're not done.
I think all of that must have just been a diversion, because the actual Reze is already inside the building, and she attacks the good guys while they're still dealing with the exploding head thing. Also, the body that tossed the head is still active. It runs into the building and also explodes.
There's a fight in the buildng, but I think you already knew how that was gonna go. All the important characters are in the car, and before long Reze intercepts them and shows off the heads of two of the guys she killed, just to make a point. She offers to spare Aki and the others if they surrender Denji, but she's not going to be stopped.
Aki refuses, though, and makes a break for it, and then some other Pubic Safety Special Division guys show up to help. Aki must have called them during his flight from the building. Violence Devil tries to beat her up, but she's too strong, so he runs away.
Next up is Kobeni, who... curls up in a fetal position and begs for mercy. Good hustle, Kobeni.
I'll give them this, they survived the engagement, and they bought time for Aki to put some more distance between Reze and Denji. The whole time, he's got Beam and Angel feeding their blood to Denji, but he's running out of options. She catches up to them pretty quickly, but he can't call for more help, and he refuses to surrender Denji. He talks about ramming her with the car, but seriously, what good would that do?
But then something tears out of the car, and it's...
Chainsaw Man! He's back, and this time, it's personal. Aki warns him that he's still too weak for a fight, but I don't know about that. Denji never had a chance to go one-on-one with Reze before, because he didn't know she was the enemy until it was too late. Also, Denji's pissed because every woman he meets is only interested in him for the "Chainsaw heart", but what about his heart?
Reze tries to feign affection for him as a diversion, but Aki keeps Denji on point. Hey, look at Aki making himself useful for a change.
So then they get ready to fight, and I gotta say, this looks pretty awesome. Reze's got a really cool design, and I like how this grudge between them has been set up. She betrayed him completely, and he's really ticking her off because this was supposed to be a stealth mission, and now she's fighting the entire Public Safety team in the middle of the city.
But we're out of time, so we'll have to pick this up in the next installment. Don'cha dare miss it!

legit gonna tear up at work because ...
#another annoying bf post from yue... but this one is different y'all#we were talking the other day and the topic of 'how we got together' came up#and i know that some of you guys were there for the entire journey (tysm)#so essentially i told him that i was super close to just ending it out of the fear of getting hurt#like i knew that i liked him alot and the fact that he was also seeing someone else was almost too much to bear.#it ate me alive. i remember driving to dance practice listening to sad music and when i parked my car i just sat there.#thinking and brooding and contemplating on ending it with him.#the more dates that i went on i realized that i wanted him and that if he didn't choose me the heartbreak would be the worst. i would need#an immeasurable amount of time to move on. and it would suck. but luckily i took the risk and it worked out :')#because i literally asked him 'who are you still talking to' after he told me that he deleted hinge lmao#and he said that he's so glad that i didn't go through with cutting it off.#plus i told him that when the other girl said 'i'm not ready for a relationship' to him i was like FUCK YES LET ME TAKE HIM OFF YOUR HANDS#HONESTLY. if i ever meet this other girl i'm buying her a coffee and making her cookies istg because she did me a service#a service that makes me the happiest that i've been in a long time attached with a bf that makes me feel seen and safe and comfortable.#and then. he just started to spill everything. he was like. i should've chosen you earlier. i should've been exclusive with you earlier.#he said that he regretted even entertaining the idea of going out with the other girl#and then i asked him if i really had anything to worry about and he was like yeah. you did have something to worry about#(lol i love being right)#he literally said that there were times at the beginning where he was swaying towards the other girl instead of me#and how he realizes now that he was so stupid for it. he said that he couldn't believe that the thought ever crossed his mind#to him we were easy and talking to me was fun and all of our dates were great and memorable so the fact that he ever swayed towards the#other girl was a source of guilt for him. he said that he felt guilty for making me wait when i already knew that i wanted him#it's been eating him up and he admitted the sweetest fucking thing.#he said that the idea of not having me there. of not having me in his life. heartbreak doesn't even begin to describe how shitty it would be#like a 'knife in his gut' he said.#and he was like 'the idea is so fucking awful that i'm tearing up just thinking about it' :'(#just the fact that he could've lost me before it even started... it was the possibility of that happening that got him all shaken up#and i could hear his voice breaking up over the phone as he said all those things#then he said 'i just want you to know that i'm fully committed to you.'#and i said that i know that he's committed to me. and that the past doesn't matter anymore because he chose me and we are together now.

Heyyy, I keep seeing all these modern!au hotd headcanons on my feed and I've been directed to you. I love them all so much and was wondering if I could ask for one? If you don't want to, you can delete this. But if you do, I was wondering what going on a date with Aegon and Aemond (separately) would entail? How they would ask you, what they would do, any big gestures, give you a gift??? That sort of thing...
hello, sweetie! I really liked your idea, so I'm going to gladly expand it. 💞
it got quite long, therefore it's under the cut! ✂️
Aemond:
• as I've mentioned before, you'd meet him in Viserys' library, lurking around. when you spot Aemond standing behind you, you get scared. you know him from uni – he's a "freak" and nobody talks to him. idk how this style is called but I imagine him wearing all black, leather jacket, silver cross, chains and all that jazz. and an eye patch. he could have some fake eye or something but he chooses to wear an eye patch, embracing his "weirdness". and he's (probably) taller than you. so, having him towering over you when you're lurking inside his father's library would be uncofmy.
• however, he only gently smiles and asks you are you his sister's friend and you nod. you start apologizing for being in the library but he interrupts you with asking you about your interests. he sounds genuine and very kind. he's soft-spoken and courteous. something you wouldn't expect from him at all.
• you talk about books, music, movies, pets, uni, whatever, really. turns out you have more in common than you'd ever think and conversation goes smoothly. you catch yourself batting your eyelashes and biting your lower lip, hoping he wouldn't notice.
• but Aemond doesn't have much experience with girls, so he doesn't realize you're interested.
• since that day, you two start talking more often every time you visit Helaena and she starts to be jealous haha.
• you also start talking on the campus and people look at you the wrong way for that but you don't care.
• Aemond has the fattest crush on you now. I mean, you're a girl who likes him and doesn't care about what other people think? and you're so soft with him? and honestly whether your style is similar to his or you're a total opposite – good girl aesthetics, ribbons in your hair and shit – he is obsessed with you. he makes Spotify playlists about you and sends them to you shyly.
• it would take a lot of courage for him to ask you out but he eventually would. maybe Aegon would notice and he'd be sick of you two acting so shy while clearly being into each other.
• "ask her out or I will"
• that's what Aemond calls motivation!!!
• you agree and you look so cute when you get flustered and his heart beats so fast, oh god, he could kiss you! but his mama taught him better. he knows he has to take his time.
• he would take you somewhere safe like the cinema. maybe it's boring but you can talk about the movie later. he wouldn't take you in the evening, though. more like late afternoon so after the movie you can take a walk around the park and go for a coffee or something. you'd also stop by a small bookstore and he'd insist on buying you a book that you'd choose. as a memory of your first date. he'd also leave a sweet note on the first page.
• he looks scary and he doesn't talk much but he's got the softest and the biggest heart for you.
Aegon:
• first time he saw you, it was something embarrassing for you both. he just woke up despite it being like 7 p.m. and he went to the bathroom without knocking. you were there, wrapped in nothing but a towel and making wide eyes at him. you were supposed to stay over for the night with Helaena and you've just finished taking a shower.
• he mumbled an apology and started to avoid you since then. however, he would also watch you carefully whenever you were around and ask Helaena all sorts of questions about you.
• "I won't let you fuck my friend, Aegon! she's a nice girl and not one of your play-things!"
• forbidden fruit is the most tasty so he starts stalking your social media. he rarely does that but girls usually want to sleep with him since he's rich. you, however, don't seem to be interested.
• the more he finds out about you, the more he's starting to like you in other ways than just sexual. he catches himself on daydreaming that your laugh would be at his jokes, that your smiles would be at him, that your hands would caress his face, that your lips would crush with his.
• Aegon is confused with those thoughts. poor fuckboy starts to think maybe he's getting sick or insane.
• Aemond notices first that something is not right with his brother lately. Aegon refuses to open up but Aemond insists, so his older brother eventually starts his whining sessions about you. how "weird" you are for making him feel this "odd" way. how he's starting to hate you for that.
• Aemond laughs at him and tells Aegon that he's an idiot. and, what's even better – an idiot in love.
• Aegon is petrified. his brother's words make sense but he hasn't expected that to happen to him like... ever. now he's even more scared.
• he might even go to Alicent and she would hug her boy tight and tell him that you're a very good choice and she would love him to ask you out somewhere nice.
• next time you're at Helaena's house, Aegon is surprisingly around and he acts all jumpy and awkward. when – by an odd coincidence – you're alone with him in the same room, he asks you out. just like that.
• you stare at him with wide eyes for a moment but to be honest, despite him being a trainwreck, you have always found him attractive. so, you agreed.
• before going out with him, you ask Helaena about his intentions but she assures you that her brother has never been this way around any girl. you know that she wouldn't lie to you.
• Aegon takes you to some fancy club for rich kids and you're super uncomfortable there, which he notices and he's starting to get anxious that he's fucked up.
• you propose to take his car and go for a ride. he agrees and you end up in a remote area, on the hill. you listen to the music from the radio and you start talking.
• your conversation goes so smooth and you laugh so much that you don't even notice how much time passes. it's very late when he finally drives you home.
• before giving you a goodbye kiss, he gives you one of the rings he's wearing on his fingers.
• "because you're my girl now, eh?"
• like... he might be a rich fuckboy and a college dropout weed addict but when he falls in love... it's really fucking hard.

When a girl confesses her love - Super Junior reaction
Summary | Members reaction to a girl confessing her love to them.
Genre | fluff.
Warnings | none
Pairing | Reader x Super Junior members.
WC | Around 2K.
Note | Requested by anon.
Original request | Suju react when a girl confess their love to them
Masterlist / Request Rules / Upcoming
Heechul wouldn't know what to say in the first place. He portrays himself as a confident guy, always knowing what to say but when you approached him confessing that you are in love with him, it startled him.
''Ehm...you sure about that?''. He is nervous that you are messing with him or playing a prank on him orchestrated by one of the members.
''Yes I am'', you say with the biggest smile on your face. Heechul noticeably sighs in relief, forming a smile on his face as he points to a cafe across the road.
''What about a coffee?''.
Leeteuk isn't that shy, but also not that confident. The moment you stepped forward, he was confused about why you had that big smile on your face, and honestly, he was kinda intrigued about what your plan was.
''I kinda like you, a lot'', you clasp your hands together, waiting for a response from the guy you liked since you started working at SM Entertainment.
Leeteuk chuckles, already knowing where this is going.
''I admire your confidence really, why don't we meet up next week?''.
Yesung would be amused, but still confused as to why you came up to him so suddenly.
''Is this why you were hanging around the office a lot? And buying VIP tickets to every concert?''. He saw you multiple times, making a mental note to himself that when he sees you again that he would approach you. Because in his eyes, you were the most beautiful girl he has ever seen.
''You noticed?''. Yesung nods and gives you a piece of paper. ''I'm kinda busy now, but feel free to text me. Maybe we can have lunch someday?''.
Confident guy in shock, making jokes instantly as your words left your mouth.
''Are you sure you want this guy?'', as he points to himself. ''I don't have a return policy'', he jokes, making you laugh at his attempt to ease the tension.
''I'm 100% sure, so would you like to have some coffee? Or dinner next week?''. Shindong never wrote down his number that quick.
Sweetheart, jokester, and confident man in one. Will take his time to talk to you, even when his manager says otherwise.
''You've been commenting on my posts a lot, I recognize you''.
A blush creeps on your cheeks and Eunhyuk chuckles. ''That is cute, why don't we meet up this afternoon, so we can talk? I mean, did you notice that I liked your photos?''.
Siwon was in love with you since high school, but when you moved away to study abroad, the butterflies died down and he focused on his career. You on the other hand couldn't stop thinking about him and you made a very bold decision.
''I'm in love with you'', you say as soon as Siwon wraps his arms around you in the middle of the arrivals not caring about the cameras or his manager.
''It's not only because of my good looks right?''.
This sweetheart knew he was in love with you as soon as he became a regular at your coffee shop. He held back because he knows being with an idol can be demanding and even dangerous in some way. That is why he was in shock when you pulled him apart during your break.
''Are we going to deny this forever?'', you ask as he chuckles at your attempt not to blush. ''Because I can't hold it anymore...I'm in love with you''.
Donghae smiles from ear to ear, promising to take you out for dinner that night.
Cutie pie and a sweetheart. He kinda expected it to happen, knowing you spend a lot of time with them during the tour and he noticed your eyes on him a few times. You weren't the only one. Ryeowook was just as guilty, having butterflies in his stomach every time he sees you.
''Can we talk?'', you ask as they take a break during soundcheck. Ryeowook walks with you and you instantly blurt it out.
''I'm in love with you'', your eyes focused on the ground, a blush creeping on your face as you wait for the rejection to come.
''I'm happy you had the confidence because I didn't dare to tell you I feel the same''.
Kyuhyun didn't know what to say after you confessed to him, not even trying to form some words or sentences in his head. He was quiet for around 30 seconds.
''I'm sorry, I shouldn't have. Forget about it''.
He grabs your hand, pulling you into his arms.
''Why didn't you wait till I had the confidence?''.

Imagine:Imagine Requested by Anon. You move to New Orleans and meet Elijah who then introduces you to his younger brothers. You take him to your brothers wedding as your date but he also brings his brothers as plus ones.
Pairing: Elijah Mikaelson x Human!Reader
Warnings: None
Words: 3596
Edited: Yes
Hi! I'm sorry so for the long wait, this was a really good request and I wanted to make it perfect for you. Now I can honestly say it still isn't to the best of my ability but I was stumped half way through and had to power through it. Sorry about the length I wasn't planning for it to be this long but it just ended up being so. Anyway I really hope you enjoy! Please comment requests or what you think of the imagine please. Thank you !
Recently, I moved to New Orleans. I did so because I heard great things and I am not disappointed. I moved here right in Mardi Gras season so it was okay but it's been a couple of months now and the tingles of excitement thinking about living here is incredible. At this moment in time, I was walking my dog. Barney. He's a beautiful German Shepard, he's getting older now but he'll always be my baby. We were walking down bourbon street and I was looking at my phone to check the time when I bumped into a pristine looking man. I dropped my phone and started giggling nervously.
"I'm so sorry, sir."
I bent down to pick up my phone but as I did we bumped heads, seeming as he lowered to pick it up too. We both looked at each other and started laughing. It's like I came straight out of a high school romance movie.
"It's absolutely okay. I should've moved when I saw you on your phone. I couldn't help but be-and forgive me if I'm overstepping-but be captivatingly beautiful."
I couldn't stop or even stall the luminous red blush engulfing my cheeks. The wind picked up in time to cover my face with my Y/H/C coloured hair.
"Oh, uh thank you."
"Sorry I shouldn't of said it, that was out of line."
I giggled as he walked away.
"Wait ! It wasn't, I'm just not used to compliments from people I bump into on the street."
He looked down with his hands in his trouser pockets and blessed my Y/E/C eyes with his sweet and wide grin.
"Sorry. Let me make it up to you. Would you let me buy you a coffee ?"
I giggled and Barney started licking the man's hand.
"Barney ! Stop it baby."
He laughed.
"It's quite alright. So coffee ? We can have it to go if you'd like?"
I smiled and Barney sat down next to my legs.
"Uh yeah, that would be nice."
***
"So you've bought me coffee and are walking around with me and I still don't know your name."
We laughed together.
"I apologise. My name's Elijah."
I looked at him in awe. His name was so beautiful and it matched his pristine look.
"I love your name, it's beautiful. My name's Y/N."
"Talk about beautiful names."
I looked away, again blushing. It made me smile so much because I always used to get picked on for my name despite loving it myself. It made me uncertain of the importance of self-love.
"Thank you, it means more than you may think."
We smiled and continued to walk in a serene silence.
"So, Elijah. When your not carelessly bumping into girls and dishing out compliments, what do you like to do ?"
He chuckled softly.
"I like to read a lot and I can cook when necessary."
This man becomes more intriguing by the second. I bet he's a great cook and the reading explains his extensive range of vocab.
"That's so cool, I cook and bake all the time. I love it so much and I don't read as much as I'd want but I like to sing."
"Oh yeah, do you sing for people ?"
"Uh sometimes, mainly special occasions like birthdays and stuff. I'm actually singing at my brother's wedding in a couple of months."
"Really, what a shame I don't get to see for myself your talent."
"I wouldn't really call it a big thing but I mean if it means that much. You seem nice so far, I was just gonna go stag but if you want to join me you can. It might be more fun if your there, I don't particularly love the women he's marrying so."
"That would be lovely. What's wrong with the woman?"
"Well, she's always stuck up around him you know. She licks his ass so much but whenever he's not around for a second she is the bitchiest most irritating girl in the world and not forgetting she's incredibly immature."
"Really, must be a irritating women then ?"
"Like you wouldn't believe."
I looked up and realised that it's already quite dark out, which means I've spent a good couple of hours talking to Elijah. I told him where my apartment was and he left but not before exchanging numbers. That very night, I had no sleep because Elijah and I were texting all night.
In the morning, after still not getting any sleep. I had a text from Elijah just as I had finished brushing my teeth.
Elijah: Good morning Y/N! I hope your energised. How would you like to get lunch today ?- E.M
Reply: As energised as I can be, Elijah. I would love to get lunch today. I also need to get my dress for the wedding, help me pick ? Good morning by the way.
Elijah: Of course you do, trust you to not be prepared. I would be honoured to help you, I don't want to go to a complete stranger's wedding with my date looking like a tart.
Reply: Thank you Elijah. Self-confidence risen dramatically... what time do you want to meet ?
Elijah: I'll pick you up at 12:30.
Reply: Okay, see you then.
As soon as I sent my reply, I ran and jumped into the shower. I lathered my vanilla body wash all over my body and soaked my hair in cherry almond shampoo and conditioner. I hopped out and decided to leave my face free from makeup and put on a mask whilst getting ready. I quickly applied my charcoal face mask and started rooting through my wardrobe for some clothes. I looked at the clock and realised I only have 50 minutes to get ready. I decided to wear a sheet black crop top with coloured flowers on and flared sleeves along with a short denim skirt, brown ankle boots, some black tights and and brown bag to match my shoes.
I was just spraying some of my vanilla perfume when there was a knock at the door. My eyes shot to the clock and I watched as the clock turned 12:30. I opened the door to see him stood there with a warm smile on his face. I smiled back at him with just as much warmth.
"Hey Elijah. You weren't kidding when you said 12:30 were you ?"
He chuckled and straightened his posture more even if it was impossible to be standing any straighter than he already was. I get it now, he's a perfectionist.
"When I say a time, I mean it."
I giggled and shut the door, locking it behind me. I replied to his comment with a smirk on my face and walked off.
"I can see that, Mr Perfectionist."
He chuckled and followed me out. We we're taking a comfortably quiet stroll down bourbon street, not rushing to get to the mall.
"So Elijah, what is it ?"
He turned to me with slight confusion.
"What ever do you mean, Y/N?"
I could tell he was genuinely confused so I made the choice to elaborate. I turned my head to look at him with my arms crossed but still walking.
"You. The way you talk, your timing ? I mean your not just on time you were there in the second of it turning 12:30. How about that both times I've seen you, you've been wearing $10 000 suits. I mean we are going to lunch. Probably to get some pizza or sushi, not for a meal that costs like $300 take like one zero off that at least."
He looked shocked at me understandably so. I just called him out on practically everything that makes him Elijah. It's not that I have a problem with any of it. A man who has impeccable timing, amazing-expensive-but amazing dress sense and knows how to talk properly not "Sup baby, you busy tonight ?" The number of times that lines been used in me is incredible.
He looked at me with a prominent look of worry. Maybe I said the wrong thing, was I too blunt maybe ? Or he might think I don't like any of it. So I quickly decided to save myself.
"Before you think or even ask yourself if I don't like any of that, I do. I'm just not used to speaking to a man. Someone with great fashion sense, doesn't talk like in idiot and can actually pronounce and word things properly-in other words speaking actual english, someone who has manners, the looks, impeccable timing and knows how to charm a women. Your a women's dream I just didn't know you were so....dreamy."
A wide grin broke out on his face, with made me blush profusely. I saw the mall in front of us.
"Dreamy ? You have a way with words Miss Y/L/N. I apologise if I may have distracted you for being so dreamy."
I giggled and smacked his arm playfully.
"Hey it's not funny. Take the compliment or leave it, alright ? It just slipped out."
"Slipped out of your mouth or your dreams."
We started laughing together feeling more comfortable than when I had my curious outburst minutes ago.
We walked in the mall and I was lost for which shop to buy my dress in. I nudged Elijah's arm.
"You know any good shops to buy dresses ?"
I asked jokingly but to my surprise he dragged me into a shop I didn't see the name of. He stopped at the entrance and turned to me.
"We are going to do something because you have massively boosted my ego today unintentionally, I think. Your going to let me do something for you. To make sure you don't look like a tart is why I came with you, correct ?"
I nodded.
"Your are going to pick five dresses you like in this store and I am going to pick my favourite one and you have to wear it to the wedding, deal ?"
Not how I expected the day to go, being bossed around by a man who was a stranger not more than 2 days ago.
"How do you not have women lining up to be with you? As long as your this bossy in the bedroom, I will say deal to you as many times as you like."
I winked at him and walked further into the shop. Elijah stood there with a wide grin at the once innocent flirty comments turning rapidly less innocent and followed her.
Five. Five dresses is not hard to pick. Come on Y/n. Just one more. I stopped and looked around until I spotted the last one. I handed them to Elijah with a whispered comment as I walked out.
"One of those dresses are harder to get off then the rest I might need some assistance, make the right decision Mr Precision."
I waited outside for him to pick the dress. Minutes later he walked out of the shop with a wide grin on his face and a white paper bag that most likely has my dress in it.
"So ?"
He looked at me and winked.
"I made the right decision, don't you worry."
***
We walked over to Rousseau's and I persuaded him to sit down and eat. When the food arrived he looked at me weirdly.
"I can't eat this, Y/N."
I giggled at him a rolled my eyes.
"What worried about getting grease on your $10 000 suit. Don't even tell me you don't like it, what's not to love about a big greasy burger and fries with a beer. Or do you only drink wine and eat lobster with caviar ?"
He chuckled at me and took his jacket off and placed it on the back of his chair. He unbuttoned his sleeves and rolled them up so they were now three quarters in length. The next thing I know is he's picking it up and taking a big bite of the burger whilst staring at me in the eyes to prove a point.
***
A little while later after it's like 6 pm we decide to leave the bar and go back to my apartment. I unlock the door and hang my jacket up whilst throwing my keys on the worktop in the kitchen. I kick my shoes off by the door and walk into the kitchen to look for some wine. Elijah follows me in a little later, having just taken his jacket off and hung it up.
"You look confused."
I'm rooting around in my pantry looking down my wine rack not finding the alcohol I wanted. Then the idea that it might be in the fridge popped into my head. I walked out of my pantry closing the door and opening my fridge finding the label staring at me in the face. I smiled and grabbed it before turning around and showing it to Elijah.
"I was trying to find this. A bottle of wine I was saving for when I had good company."
He grabbed the bottle out of my hands and inspected it, lastly he smirked.
"No wonder you saved it Y/N, this is an expensive wine. One they don't even sell in the United States. What did you do? Go on holiday and smuggle a bottle of rare and incredibly expensive wine back here ?"
"I guess you could say that but I didn't buy it...I won it. In a game of poker on my 26th birthday, I lived in Italy with my family and it was a bottle that was made the year I was born and my mother saved up for it and bought it. My dad annoyed her buy using it as a prize for our game of poker, he said it was pure luck just because it was made on my birthday. $6 863. That's the total cost."
"So your Italian ?"
I giggled and grabbed two glasses.
"Si signore."
He chuckled and followed me into the living room. I threw myself on the couch and sat upright so I could pour the wine.
"So you've juiced everything interesting out of me. What about you ?"
"The only interesting thing about me is my family I suppose. I have two older siblings and four younger siblings."
"Tell me about them."
"Okay. There's my eldest sister Freya she's 34; 5 years older than me. She's quite sweet but she was more of a long distance sibling for a while.Finn who's 33, we're not especially close. Niklaus or Klaus as he prefers, he's 25 and a menace all of the time consistently getting on my nerves. He's 4 years younger than me. Then Kol who is worse than Klaus, he's the most menacing of us all and an irritatingly common flirt even at 24.My youngest sister Rebekah, 17 and she's always had a flair for the dramatics, always looking for love. Then Henrik, who was 11 when he died. None of us really knew a lot about him except Klaus, he was the closest to him."
I widened my eyes and polished off my third glass of wine already. I put my hand on his, I leant forward a touch to pour more wine.
"I apologise for your loss. But, also for your seemingly irritant siblings."
"It's quite alright."
I grabbed his glass and placed the glasses down on the table and I felt my arm being dragged back and when looking forward, I noticed the close proximity of Elijah and I. Mere centimetres away we sat staring into each other's eyes with curiosity. I couldn't help but feel intimidated by the lingering stare he had on me and also slightly exhilarated. Swiftly our noses touched ever so slightly. It made it impossible to pull away like I probably should have. He leant forward some more making the pressure on our noses more noticeable and so suddenly his small soft lips reached for mine in a gentle peck. Our eyes fluttered closed, overwhelmed from the feeling a small kiss could make us feel. It was a foreign feeling, feeling this way from a kiss.
He gradually moved away a little and looked at me in the eyes. I didn't know what to say. His hands slowly raised and stroked the sides of my face before leaning in and giving me a quick peck. Just after he allowed me to cuddle into his side to watch a movie, I'd put on in the background when we sat down.
***
A couple of months later, we are still going strong. Elijah and I actually have the wedding to go to today, we flew out with his brothers unfortunately so we couldn't have much personal time. I am excited about seeing my dress though, I haven't seen it since when I picked the 5 dresses out at that store, I can't even remember what they all looked like.
I opened the bag and I pulled out a beautiful baby blue halter neck dress that will hug my body tightly, no wonder he liked it and of course it was the one with the zip. I actually will need help later now.
I decided to start getting ready and then spotting the lingerie he threw in there as well.
These last few months have been a dream. I have not been this happy for years. Elijah's perfect, yes we have a few differences that haven't been great to deal with but we've made it through and he makes me feel i'm living in my dream.
***
I walked out of the bathroom that I was getting ready in to see Elijah drinking a glass of wine on the bed.
"Babe it's 11 am, why are you drinking wine ?"
He jumped up and spat it out on the floor, unfortunately it was red wine. My eyes widened as I saw it immediately stain the floor.
"Lijah ! This is a hotel room, we aren't at home."
He shook his bed and fell on the floor on his knees, eyes still widened.
"Elijah. What's wrong with you, baby ?"
He shook his head and helped me scrub the floor. We are most definitely going to be late for this wedding. As I was squirting soap on the floor I hear a knock. I get up, leaving Elijah on the floor. I open the door to greet the brothers. They walked in and followed me to the bedroom where Elijah was still on the floor.
"Elijah mate, why are you on the floor ?"
He just continued to stare off. They looked at me and I shrugged.
"I don't know what happened. I walked out the bathroom, he spark his wine on the floor. Now we have to explain why we've stained their carpet."
***
We are greeting other guests and trying to find my brother. When I spot him he walks over. He hugs me and spins me around.
"God I missed you Y/N !"
"I missed you too Y/B/N, like you wouldn't believe. I would like to introduce you to some people I bought. This is Elijah, my boyfriend and has been for a couple of months now and-"
I introduced Elijah who was back to normal after I gave him a kiss apparently it was because I looked so beautiful. I cut myself off when going to introduce the brothers because when I looked over at them. They were the only two causing trouble, Kol was consistently flirting with married women and Klaus threatening people.
"and that's it. They are NOT with us."
Elijah and I looked at each other and he nodded. I rolled my eyes and walked over to the brothers, grabbing them by the wrists and dragging them over.
"Y/B/N these are Elijah's brothers. Kol and Klaus."
"Nice to meet you all, it's a shame I can't talk more to Elijah. I guess it's hard to talk to him when your sister doesn't tell you about him."
I looked down to the floor and back up innocently.
"I love you."
"I love you too. Right, we need to start getting ready."
"Okay go."
***
Flashback
I was sitting nervously on a couch at Elijah's House when he walks in with two good looking gentlemen.
"Y/N my darling, I would like for you to meet my brothers Kol and Niklaus."
"Call me Klaus. All my friends do."
He grabs my hand and kisses it. I blushed hard before most fortunately it disappeared, very quickly.
Kol walks closer and kisses me on the cheek and as he pulls away winks. Unfortunately, the blushed arose. Once again.
"Nice to meet you darling."
They are all insanely charming and flirtatious, it's nerve racking. No wonder, why they have so many female admirers.
***
I remember how different the greetings were for me and my brother. They were more chilled with my brother although still mischievous, yet with me it was flirtatious and misbehaving.
I can live with it now though. The flirtatiousness, I get enough from Elijah so I'm used to it. Kol and Klaus now are more comedic in my eyes with their fake sentiments of love for me, annoying Elijah and even bursting into our room after I've taken a shower to see if they scare me enough to drop my towel. Although, that's more Kol.
All I can say is, I'm way more comfortable with them now and I couldn't be happier to know that Elijah and I are going to last, a gut feeling tells me so.

Nerve wracking. This was very nerve wracking. It was one thing to go to a school full of rich people, but it was another for it to be in a different country. Though you felt nervous, this was a giant step into a new life.
You had highlights dyed in your hair for a while now, but didn't know if the school allowed it, so you hid it up in a beanie with only your bangs peaking out. You also didn't know if they allowed crop tops, which was what you had on right now due to your unattended laundry, so you put a big sweater on to hide that as well.
Everyone stared at you. You expected nothing less, considering you weren't wearing a school uniform. You kept your head low and your mouth shut, though it was starting to bother you to have all those eyes on you for no reason. It's rude to stare.
After school you wanted to find a quiet place to study. All three of the huge libraries were noisy, for some reason, so you ventured into trying to find an empty room. There was a music room that looked uninhabited, so you opened the door.
"Welcome to the Ouran Host Club."
A gush of wind came and you stepped inside to see 6 guys standing there, greeting you.
"Oh." One of the twins said. "It's just a guy."
"Host Club?" You quietly asked. "Um, I'm sorry! I didn't know this place was occupied. Sorry."
You turned and reached for the handle, only for both twins to lean on each of your shoulders.
"You said sorry twice." The said in unison.
"I'll just leave now—"
"You must be the foreign honor student, Mr. Y/l/n."
You looked back at the boy with the glasses giving you a small smile. "I'll ignore the Mr part for now, but how did you know my name?"
The tall blonde one gasped. "You're the exceptional honor student from y/c?!"
"It's quiet interesting seeing a commoner with the audaciousness to come here." The guy with glasses said.
"Commoner?" You repeated, taking in the name.
"You should feel lucky." He continued. It did do injustice for your nerves to hear that, but you tried to not let the innocently rude words effect you.
"So lucky." You sighed.
The blonde man rushed over to you and slung his arm over your shoulder. "I think it's wonderful for a commoner such as yourself to come and study us. It'll set an example for other commoners and you'll be a hero to all of them. Long live the poor!"
"Am I supposed to not find all of this offensive?" You asked as you ducked out of his arm.
That's when a small boy jumped onto you, causing you to instinctively catch him. While in your arms he could feel your hidden breasts against his head, which made him the second person in the room to catch on.
"Wow, y/l/n huh? That's a really weird last name. I like it though, it's interesting. I hope we can be friends from now! "You were honestly confused at to why there was a little boy here, so you gently ruffled his hair and put him down.
"That'd be nice." You sweetly said. "What are you doing here?"
"Huh. Who knew the honor student would be so openly gay?" The blonde man shrugged.
"What?" You asked, though you were ignored again.
"So then, which would you prefer?" He pulled your arm to each of the boys. "Is it the strong, silent type? The loli-shota type? The mischievous devils? The cool type?" He got extremely close and grabbed your chin, whispering, "Or maybe you'd like me."
You jerked yourself back, walking backwards as the twins and the blonde were walking towards you. "Please don't get so close when I don't even know you! I'll leave you all be now—"
You bumped into a table, and a vase fell and shattered as a result. "Now you've done it commoner." Said the twin with the higher voice. "That was a Renaissance vase."
"We were gonna sell that at the auction. The bidding was going to start at 8 million yen." Explained the other.
"8 mi..." Your voice was barely a whisper as you looked at the shattered glass. You then began to internally panic, causing words to just spew out. "Oh my gosh okay okay I am so so sorry I should've expected something like this cause of my luck and it's just like me to be a screw up and–" you let out a deep breath before scrunching up your nose and turning to them. "I need to pay you back."
"With what money?" The twins said.
"Holy crap this is bad." You began shaking your leg. "Okay, what do I do then?"
"Well Tamaki, what do you think we should do?" The glasses guy asked, still giving you a small smile.
"There's an old saying that we should all live by! When in Rome, do as the Romans do."
"I'm in rich territory, does that mean I need to do as the rich people do?" You asked, being unconsciously sarcastic.
He chose to ignore you and go on. "Since you don't have any money, you will have to pay us back with your body!"
"Can you please rephrase that—"
"Starting today, you are the host club's dog boy!"
It all happened so fast, and next thing you knew you were coming back from the store with their grocery items. Was this going to be hell? When you got back, you thought about the club while walking in the halls. It was their job to make women happy. That probably meant you would have to put on a brave smile.
"Hey there, little piglet. Did you get everything on our list?" Tamaki senpai smiled at you.
Brave face. "Yup, everything you asked for sir." You smiled brightly.
His eyes widened, and he zoomed over to you to pull you into a crushing hug. "Aww, you're too adorable!"
"Please let go!"
"Why? I'm not done hugging you yet!"
"I don't..." You looked around for help. "Mori senpai! Help me please!"
He made eye contact with you before swooping in and picking you up. You clung to him out of panic. Why would anyone smother strangers like that?
Mori senpai let out an inaudible gasp. He was now the third person who figured it out. "Uh, Mori senpai," Tamaki said. "Don't you think that was a little much?"
"No." He said, putting you down.
"Thank you." You said sweetly. He nodded and went back.
"Wait, doggo," Tamaki called to you, picking up the grocery bag. "What's this?"
"Just what it looks like. Coffee." You said as you walked over to him. "And I have a name."
"I've never seen coffee like this before." He ignored you again as he sat down on a couch.
"Are those the ones where it already has the beans grounded up for you?" Kaoru asked.
"No, it's instant coffee." You said.
"It's... Instant?" Some girls asked.
"Wait a minute, I've seen this before!" Tamaki widened his eyes. "It's commoner's coffee! They don't have time to make it themselves so they use this and it magically appears."
Someone watching this quietly asked, "Commoners don't have time to ground their own coffee?"
"Why is everybody staring?" You asked before sighing. "Nevermind. If you want I'll go back and buy a more expensive brand. Sorry."
"No no, let's keep it." The whole crowd gasped. "I think I'll try it." Another gasp. "I'm going to drink this coffee!" Everybody began clapping. "Y/l/n~ this coffee won't make itself~"
"I guess that's my cue." You said to yourself.
"Wait, commoner," Hikaru said.
"What's up with that ugly outfit?" Kaoru asked. "Can you not afford a school uniform?"
You giggled. "Do I look someone who can afford a school uniform?" They giggled again. "I'm used to public schools, so I wore a random shirt. I don't know if it fits this school's standards though." The twins heard your giggle, and we're now also figured it out. "I've actually been meaning to ask, is there a rule against dyed hair?"
"Dyed hair? No." Kaoru said.
"Oh good," you sighed. "Cause I have some highlights."
"Then what about your shirt?" Hikaru asked.
"It's a crop."
"A crop?" The twins asked in unison.
"Come to think of it," Kyoya spoke up. "Nobody ever asked you what your first name is."
You took off your beanie and let your hair down. You then took off your sweater and put it on top of your bag in the corner.
"It's y/n. Y/n y/l/n." You then walked over as everybody remained silent. "Thank you Kyoya senpai. Nobody else actually cared about my name. Means a lot." You smiled.
"Of course, now it's time to go make the coffee."
"Yes sir." You made it while everybody else remained silent. Tamaki couldn't take it anymore, and exploded.
"You're a girl?!" He barked.
"Yeah?"
"Why would you hide that?!"
"I wasn't trying to, and you shouldn't treat someone different because of that either way." You then turned to everyone else. "Coffee's done. Time for me to get back to work."
"But–but—"
"Tamaki, we still have guests to entertain." Kyoya reminded. He shook out of it and began flirting again, and you took this as an opportunity to start with your other chores. You began to clean up some plates and tea cups as everybody fussed over the coffee.
"Oh Tamaki, you've taken the joke too far. You have a delicate taste, your pallet can't stomach that crap. It's obvious you're just doing it to please her." You looked over to a very pretty girl, sipping her tea. "Oh, I'm sorry. I was just talking to myself."
"Of course ma'am. Would you care for any more food or drinks?" You quietly asked.
"No, you can leave now." You smiled and nodded, walking away with a bad feeling about that girl.
You were then cleaning up the coffee cups, watching other girls become fascinated with it. As you cleaned up they stopped to look at you. "Oh, you're the commoner honor student right?" One asked.
"Yup. Did you ladies enjoy the coffee?"
"Very much so. It did not taste poorly, and it was surprising to see how quick it was to make."
"Well, us commoners are always in a hurry to keep up with our bills." They giggled, though you didn't realize you were being funny. "Anyways, I'm glad I got to share my poorness with you."
The giggled again. "You're so funny y/n."
"Thank you. It's sweet of you not to call me a dog." You said, grinning afterwards. "And wow I never thought I'd say that."
They giggled again. "Are you enjoying Ouran Academy?"
"Hell yeah, it's awesome! Who knew there can be so many buildings in a building!"
"You have an interesting way of speaking." One laughed out.
"Well I didn't think so until I got to a whole different country. I totally forgot about the whole bowing to people thing when I left y/c. We don't do that there."
"Oh my goodness, really?!"
"Yeah, you have no idea—"
"Y/n, Honey senpai spilled." Hikaru called out. "Come and clean it."
"Oh, I have to go. It was nice talking to you ladies." You then hurried over there.
They then went back to their hosts. "What were you all talking about?" Tamaki asked one girl.
"Not much, just talking." She said. "It was very fun and pleasant."
"I wish we could've talked more." Another girl said.
"She's coming by." The third girl tried to say quietly.
"Y/n, come over here." Tamaki said. As you walked over his eyes ventured down to your opening stomach. "I heard you had quiet the chat with some ladies."
"Yup, I thought it was a very nice little talk." You said, smiling at them.
He grabbed you and crushed you into a hug again. "Your smile is so cute! You need to learn how to be more girly! Now promise me you won't wear any more of those dirty poor boy clothes."
"First of all, personal space please! Second, those clothes are comfy. And crop tops aren't for dirty boys."
"That's debatable." Tamaki murmered and blushed.
"Y'know, we think it looks pretty cute." The twins said against your shoulders.
"See? Hikaru and Kaoru aren't judging me on how I look." You hugged each of them at their side. They then both blushed out of surprise, not that you noticed.
"Don't trust those shady twins! They just want to take advantage of you." He then grabbed you back, nuzzling up against your cheek. "You know what, why don't you two make yourselves useful and grab an appropriate school uniform for my little girl."
"Little girl?" You asked, pushing him back a bit.
"Of course! We're a family after all, and now you're my little girl!"
"That's weird." He then suddenly started sulking in the corner, to which you felt bad about. You went over to him and sat on the floor next to him. "I'm sorry if I made you upset. I'm actually glad that friendship is that important to you. It's not often you still see that, and I'm happy to be a part of it."
His eyes began to shine. "Do you really think so?!"
"Sure!"
"Aww, you're so cute!" He squished your cheeks.
"Uh, boss." Kaoru said.
"The female uniforms were still in the process of being made, so all they had were male uniforms." Hikaru explained.
"Oh, that's actually better for me." You said. "I'm not much for dresses." You then took the outfit and went to the changing room to put it on. You came out without the blazer, the tie being loose, and the top button being undone. "Are you sure I can keep this?"
"Well the tailoring was messed up so they were gonna throw it away." Kaoru explained.
"Oh, perfect." You smiled.
"No, not perfect!" Tamaki popped up in front of you. "WHY WON'T YOU WEAR FEMALE CLOTHING?!"
"Are you trying to say I don't look good in these clothes?" You teased.
"Wha– noo~" His eyes began to tear up. "I never said that!"
"So you were thinking it."
"I WASN'T THINKING THAT AT ALL! Please y/n, I think you're beautiful, I swearr~"
You began giggling. "Senpai, I'm just teasing. I understand that you didn't mean that at all. It's okay."
He gave you puppy dog eyes. "Really?"
"Sure." You said lightheartedly. You wanted to ruffle his hair from how much of a puppy he was acting like.
"Then why would you tease me like that?" More puppy dog eyes.
"If I'm staying the Host Club's dog until I graduate, I might as well have fun while being here." The twins were busy laughing on the ground, while everybody else watch you two. Nobody could make Tamaki like that except for Kyoya.
"She's so funny." A girl mumbled.
You patted Tamaki's shoulders. "Straighten up senpai. You still have an audience waiting."
"She's right you know." Kyoya said. He then happily sighed. "Okay everyone, back to work."
You wheeled around the tea, hearing someone whisper, "She's coming."
You stopped and smiled, furrowing your eyebrows. "What?"
"Nothing, just that you don't react normally to Tamaki. No one has ever made him flustered like that before."
"Not only that." Another girl said. "You just seem so fun. It's like you don't give a care in the world. We're not used to people being so care free, so it's very fun."
"That's very sweet to hear. It's nice that you guys all care about whatever I ramble on about." You poured them all tea. "Maybe I should be a host too. I could tell stories and we could all hang out."
"That'd be very pleasant." One said as the other two nodded.
The red headed girl from earlier laughed. "How sweet of you three to make her feel good about herself. She seems like a person who needs to be praised."
"That was a little harsh Ayanokoji." One of them said.
They all looked at you frowning, but you didn't want them to pity you. You mustered up a smile. "More tea ma'am?"
"No, that'll be all. You can leave." She smiled as she sipped on her tea.
"Of course." You then walked away.
Kyoya heard everything. You passed by him, frowning and looking downward. "You mentioned being a host. It's an interesting notion, in it's own way."
"Don't worry Kyoya senpai, I know my place."
He didn't look back at you, only staring at his notebook. "Your place, huh."
"Would you care for anything?" You asked.
"Just some answers." He continued to write in his book. "What do you consider your 'place'?"
You chuckled. "Not here. I know how lucky I am to be here, and that I shouldn't push it. Especially after breaking something."
"I see. Well, I do like your suggestion of being a host." This gained the attention of Tamaki.
You had your back to him as you cleaned up a table. "I was joking."
"Yes, but most people seem to enjoy hearing you talk. It'll help gain money for your debt."
Tamaki flipped and landed right in front of you. "Why would you do that?! Don't tell me you're not interested in men?!"
"I didn't say I wasn't. I just think that these girls might also have fun by laughing and not just being flustered. Having someone to talk to can be refreshing."
His eyes began to sparkle again. "This could work! Having more females could get you in touch with your feminine side. Starting tomorrow, you are a host!"
The next day you were sitting on a couch with the three other girls you talked to yesterday with you. "So y/n, what was your life like before you came to Japan?"
"Oh, you guys don't really wanna hear about my boring life, do you?" You leaned back on the cushion. "I thought we could talk about you ladies."
"We're actually very intrigued by you. We all want to know more about your life."
"Yeah, it seems like you lived in a whole other world."
You grinned, looking around. "Well, this does feel like another world. It feels like a dream come true."
"Were you poor?" Someone blankly asked.
A few people turned around to listen in. You chuckled. "Yes. For a commoner, I was on the more poor side."
"You mean there's a poorer side?"
You chuckled again. "Yup. Instead of commoners, we like to call ourselves middle class. Or at least in y/c we were. There were those who had not bad jobs with not bad incomes, and there were others who actually struggled maintaining enough money to get by."
People began to stop talking and began listening in. "What were your parents then?"
You kept your smile on your face, but stared out the window. "My dad was a lazy asshole who never worked a day in his life, but I guess he didn't seem that way when my mom met him. My mom was an honest and hard working accountant. She used to say that he was nicer to her, sweeter, and not a lot of people were kind to women where she lived. She told me she thought he could make her happy."
They all listened intensely. Even Kyoya stopped writing, and watched you from his side view. You looked over the the three girls. You weren't used to having people really listening to you, but it did feel surprisingly nice. Like the weight on your chest was being lifted little by little.
"What happened?"
"It wasn't until she was pregnant with me when she realized it was all a lie. And it wasn't until after I was born when he showed her that he loved alcohol. He was angry when he drank, and he always drank. Mom got sick when I was about 6, and by that time being angry turned into being violent."
"Did he ever hurt you or your mom?" You looked her in the eyes, and she gasped, knowing the answer. You didn't answer that question.
"A few months later she passed, and I ran away the same day."
"Where did you go?"
You kept your voice steady and calm. "I was living in the streets. Stole from this liquor store to eat. The woman who owned the shop caught me, but she wasn't mad. She invited me into her apartment, fed me, bought me new clothes. She's good to me."
"Did you keep living with her?"
You nodded. "She called the cops on my dad before putting me into the foster system and becoming my new mother the right way. Took a few months before she could foster me, but she didn't hesitate to fill everything out and put down her name for a daughter."
"What happened after that?"
"I worked at her liquor store, made some friends, found out I was really good at learning things in school. Then I saw that there was an opportunity to go to a prestigious school in Japan. After seeing a lot of injustice in the neighborhood I lived in, I decided that I wanted to be a lawyer. So I studied, learned Japanese, and when I got in Maria sold the liquor store and we moved here."
"Maria?"
"My second mother. The one who adopted me."
"I see. So you came here with her then?"
"Of course. We wouldn't abandon each other." You turned to them and smiled. "It's nice to know when you're wanted."
The three of them were in tears. "That's so sad." One said.
"Oh, no no no, don't be sad girls. It's fine, honestly! I'm happy that I found a new family, and I'm happy for being here. I don't like tears, so please don't cry for me. It makes me sad."
The three of them smothered you with a hug. "WE'LL KEEP SMILING FOR YOU Y/N!"
You giggled. "Thanks girls." You then looked around. "Has everybody been listening in?"
"No!" You heard from the twins. Everybody quickly turned away from you.
"Well that's very embarrassing. Thanks guys." You blushed and looked down. Tamaki pulled you away and gently grabbed your arms.
"Y/n, listen to me. I promise you that we will do our best to make you feel as comfortable as possible." You were going to answer, but you noticed something when you looked out the window. "What's wrong?"
"My stuff..." You frowned. "I'll be right back."
You ran outside to get your things. Your bag was thrown into a lake. As you ran you saw that princess, Ayanokoji. She gave you a side eye, and something told you to stop running.
"Oh, it's you." You didn't look back, and neither did she. "You can charm everybody with your words, but I hope you know that to Tamaki you'll always be a second class citizen."
You said nothing as you kept running. Once you got to the lake you took off your shoes and socks, rolling up your pants and going in to fish out your stuff. What you couldn't find was your wallet. That would be good money gone to waste.
"You've got some nerve running out on me." Tamaki said, watching you. "Hey, why are your items all wet?"
"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just looking for my wallet. You can go back, I'll be there in a bit." You didn't notice him take off his socks and shoes until he got in as well. "What're you doing?"
"Helping you look."
"But you'll get all wet." You felt bad for making him do this.
"A little water never hurt anybody." You stopped what you were doing you watch him. "Besides, people are always telling me I'm dripping with good looks. Oh, I think we got something here." He showed you your wallet, though you just kept staring at him. "Why are you staring at me?" He then smiled. "You're not falling for me~ are you?"
You scoffed and smiled, grabbing your wallet from his hands. "You wish."
"By the way, how did your things end up in the pond?"
"Don't worry about it, let's just go back to the club."
Later that day, to your dismay, Princess Ayanokoji requested you. You politely asked her what she wanted to talk about, and she asked about you digging through the pond.
"I see, that must be terrible. I don't know what I'd have done if my bag got thrown into there." She then chuckled. "And you even got Tamaki to dig through that dirty lake water. Impressive."
"I don't see what's so impressive about it." You shrugged. "I suppose he's just a nice person who'd do that for people."
"You know it's just a little obsession with you. You're new and exciting, but pretty soon Tamaki will lose interest. I mean really, you're just another pretty face."
You frowned, looking into your tea cup. "Jealousy can make a beautiful face very ugly, don't you think?"
She widened her eyes before pushing the table to the ground, causing tea to spill on your lap, and slapped you in the face. "How dare you?! Someone help me, the commoner tried to steal my bracelet! Somebody do something!" The twins said nothing as the dumped water on her. "W...why did you do that?"
Tamaki pulled her up and into his arms. "Ayanokoji, I'm disappointed in you. You were the one you put y/n's bag in the pond, weren't you?"
"You don't know that!" She angrily said. "Do you have any proof that I did?!"
He sighed. "You're a beautiful woman Ayanokoji, but you aren't classy enough to be our guest. If it's one thing I know, it's that y/n isn't that kind of woman."
As she ran away crying, Kyoya handed you a girl's school uniform. "Since you got tea on your uniform. I know you wouldn't prefer a dress, but it's what we have, and it's better than a wet outfit."
"Yeah, thanks senpai."
You went into the changing room, putting on the dress. You were thankful for it being long. You didn't want anybody to the scars. You stared at yourself in the mirror, wondering if you looked okay. You sucked up the doubts and went out.
All the club members turned to look at you. Tamaki stared at you. "Y/n... wearing a... dress?"
"Senpai!" You walked over to Tamaki, taking his hands. "I forgot to say thank you for helping me find my wallet. I thought you were really cool today."
Tamaki's face then began to redden as you smiled.

Of Rocks and Robots Ch. 28 - The Club
Once again just a friendly warning that this episode features and discusses teenage drinking
Varian stumbled out of bed and yawned. He looked at the clock and noticed the time. 6:30. Shoot! He was suppose to be up before six!
He threw on some clothes and rushed down stairs to the cafe.
Hiro and Aunt Cass were already down there setting up for the day.
"Sorry.. I slept in." He apologized. "Why didn't anybody wake me?"
"Oh well, I figured you could use the sleep. Besides it's only thirty after. Sit down and have some breakfast." Aunt Cass placed a couple of egg sandwiches on the table along with a cup of coffee and a cup of orange juice and encouraged the two boys to have a seat. While they both ate, Aunt Cass blithely carried on the conversation.
"So how did last night go?"
Varian eyed Hiro who glared at him over his sandwich but didn't say anything. "It went great actually. I even met someone while there."
"Oooh, that's wonderful sweetie. I'm so happy that you're making friends."
"Her name's Carol and she's a freshmen at the Art Institute. She just moved here from Mississippi, so she's new in town like I am."
"Oh, so she's what, 17... 18?"
"I..I honestly don't know. I didn't think to ask. But she invited me to another party tonight. If it's okay, I thought I might go. I could find out then."
"Another party?" Aunt Cass raised an eyebrow. It was a holiday weekend sure, but it was unusual to get invited to two parties in two days.
"Yeah, it's Jessica's birthday. She's Carol's friend and another person I met at the art school. They're all going to some restaurant to go dancing at. I forgot the name of the place, but Carol was going to text me directions if I could make it."
Aunt Cass thought a moment about it and then nodded along. "Well okay, just let me know where and text me when you get there. Also, once again, try not to stay out too late."
"Wait." Hiro interjected. He couldn't believe the ease with which Varian lied, nor could he believe that the other teen had just tricked Aunt Cass into letting him go out again to another wild party. He considered telling the truth right then and there, but the angry glare from Varian reminded Hiro of their argument last night and how Varian held dirt over himself as well. So he came up with an excuse instead. "I...I thought you wanted us all to spend more time together this weekend?"
"Well there's still Sunday tomorrow." Aunt Cass answered. "Why don't we have family movie night again? What do ya say? We could go out to the theater and catch a new release. I think their playing some sort of superhero movie this week."
The boys exchanged awkward glances but in the end agreed. Neither were ready to include Aunt Cass into their current feud. Besides she looked so happy at the thought of them all going out and spending time together as a family, that they just didn't have the heart to disappoint her.
They finished breakfast and Hiro left to meet with the rest of the gang. Varian however stayed to help with the cafe as promised.
"You know," Aunt Cass said while they washed up the morning dishes together. "I know it's only been a month, but I want you to know that we're all so glad to have you here. It hasn't been the easiest thing in the world readjusting, I know, but things are really working out; you're making friends, you and Hiro are really coming together here lately, and most of all you make our family just a little bit bigger and a whole lot happier just by being here."
She placed a loving hand on his shoulder, and Varian felt his heart drop at those worlds. He still didn't feel like he fit in here with the Hamadas and his relationship with Hiro had only degraded over this past week, which was already rocky enough to begin with. But Aunt Cass was so loving and hopeful that Varian only felt guilty for not measuring up to her ideals.
He gave her a small smile but deep down he couldn't wait to get out of here and back to another party. One where no one really knew who he was nor cared. Where he could drown out his intrusive thoughts and self doubt with a stiff drink.
"He went to the frat party?" Honey Lemon asked in worry.
--------------------------
Hiro was with the rest their friends at Joe's Dinner, recounting his argument with Varian last night.
"And you're sure he'd been drinking?" Gogo also asked with a frown.
"He said so himself and he smelt like beer when he came in." Hiro confirmed.
Gogo's eyes narrowed but she didn't say anything further.
"So what did you do?" Wasabi asked.
"Nothing. I..I wasn't sure how to tell Aunt Cass." Hiro looked around at his group of friends who were all giving him judgemental stares. "Look, I was still in my armor, alright. It was past midnight, and Varian had a point when he said that he covered for us all the time."
"You mean he covered for you ." Fred pointed out. "You're the one hiding your superheroing from Aunt Cass."
Hiro heaved a sigh, but Wasabi added his own opinion before he could offer up a defense. "You should have told her. Both about the drinking and about you being in big hero six. She's going to find out someday anyways and the longer you put it off the worst it's going to be."
Hiro cast his eyes downward unable to come up with a retort to that.
"Where's Varian now?" Gogo asked.
"Working at the Lucky Cat and after that he's going to another party."
"Another one?" Honey Lemon interjected.
"Someone he met at the other party invited him to go dancing tonight. He convinced Aunt Cass that it was just innocent birthday party." Hiro explained.
Everyone exchanged worried looks.
"You need to tell Aunt Cass." Gogo insisted.
"No, wait." Hiro pleaded. "Look, maybe we can handle this ourselves. Varian won't listen to me, but he might listen to all of you. Then there'd be no reason to involve Aunt Cass in any of this."
"And if he doesn't listen?" Fred asked.
"Hiro, why are you so against just letting an adult handle this?" Wasabi added.
"Look, Tadashi would go after him. He'd be there to help and try to reason with him, not be a snitch."
Hiro's explanation only elected more worried glances.
"And did it ever occur to you that Tadashi wasn't always in the right?" Gogo asked.
"What do you mean?" Hiro asked with trepidation.
Gogo sighed, "Look, we all miss Tadashi. He was a wonderful person… but that doesn't mean didn't make mistakes. Just because he kept trying to bail you out of those bot fights himself doesn't mean he should have."
Hiro had no words for that. Never in a million years would he have questioned Tadashi's methods. If it wasn't for his brother he would still have been bot fighting, and would have either been hurt or in juvie right now if not for trying to reach out to him.
He searched Gogo's eyes questioningly before she heaved a sigh in frustration and relented. "Fine. Where is this party?"
"I don't know. We'll probably have to just follow him; catch him before he gets there."
"Then I propose we suit up." Fred said. "To the headquarters!"
--------------------------
Varian stood in line to get into Monroe's with Carol and the rest of her friends. He'd had rushed to find Jessica a birthday card and a small gift and met them all at the restaurant right around nine. Only the restaurant, wasn't a restaurant, it was called a 'club' instead. There was still food and drink to be had, but the real reason folks came here was to dance, and Varian could hear the loud thumping music even from where he stood outside.
"Must be a really popular place." He shouted to Carol over the music and other party goers. "I don't see how we'll be able to dance with such a crowd."
Carol laughed "Yeah, Monroe's like the hottest spot in town. But there'll be room, the line just makes it look more crowded than it is."
Varian looked up ahead and spotted a large man at the front of the line. People were handing him cards or flashing their wallets towards him. Upon inspecting the cards he would then let them in through the door.
"What's he doing?" Varian asked.
Carol looked at him in surprise. "Checking I.D. They don't let you into the club unless you can prove your 21. That way they don't have to check everybody who wants to buy a drink inside."
Varian's heart stopped. No one here knew his actual age he realized. At the last party it didn't seem to matter so he hadn't brought it up, but here he'd be found out and no doubt made to look the fool all because he didn't meet some abritay requirement.
"I...I don't think they'll let me in then." Varian admitted to the girl.
"Why not?"
"Well, I haven't a license yet, and.." Varian was going to admit the truth but Carol interrupted.
"Oh, cause you just moved here." She nodded her head as if she had just figured out his problem. "Well you have some other sort of ID don't you? A passport or a visa?"
"Yeah I have both those things, but you don't understand.."
Carol placed a hand on his chest to stop him. "Don't worry boo. We got you. We'll make sure you get in." She gave him a smile and a wink.
"Wouldn't be first time we snuck someone in." Jake put in.
"It wouldn't?"
Jessica laughed. "You think we're all 21 one? I mean I am, it's my birthday, but I wasn't always. Besides it's a dumb law anyways."
"If you're old enough to vote and join the army, you should be old enough to drink." Another one of Carol's friends, Daryl, interceded.
Everyone in the group seemed to be in agreement with this sentiment and Varian relaxed just a little bit. Though only a little. He wasn't necessarily voting age either.
"There's no age laws in Corona. Everybody drinks." Varian added.
"That's right, Europe doesn't have the same laws as we do." Carol said as if only just now considering the difference.
"I went to Germany once." Mary said; she was Daryl's girlfriend. "I was in high school and was able to get into a bar no problem. They just don't care over there."
"I'd love to visit Europe someday." Carol said, changing the subject. "I think Ireland would be a cool place to visit."
"I'd like to see Spain." Jessica threw her opinion in. "Would you take me see Spain baby?" She asked of Jake teasingly.
"Sure, if you got a couple of thousands of dollars lying around." Jake joked.
This elected more laughter from the small group of poor college students, and Varian's worry began to wane. Only to kick back up once they reached the front of the line. Panicked he dug into his pocket and pulled out the fake passport that Professor Granville had given him.
"What's this?" The bouncer at the door said incredulously.
"It's a passport." Carol said forcefully before Varian could answer. "Ain't you ever seen a passport before?"
"It's not even in English." The guard threw back annoyed and he flipped the booklet around to show off the I.D.
"Well of course not." Carol rolled her eyes. "It's in Russian. He's from Russia."
"Ok, prove it. Say hello in Russian." The bouncer clearly didn't believe them.
"Um.. privyet?" Varian answered hesitantly. It was a bit of a loaded question as there was more than one way to say hello in Russian, but Varian defaulted to the more informal greeting as it's what he and his dad would use most often.
The guard raised an eyebrow still not convinced.
"I also have my visa and college I.D. if you want that instead." Varian offered helpfully as he pulled out his wallet. He didn't think it'd be enough to let him in but better to be cooperative then to start a fight.
Just then Daryl from behind them yelled, "Hey, what's the hold up!?"
The bouncer took a look at the long line spiraling behind them and rolled his eyes while heaving a frustrated sigh. He didn't have time for this. "Fine." He said as he handed back the passport. "Go on in."
"Thanks." Varian mumbled as he took the I.D. back. He couldn't believe that had just worked.
"Yeah!" Carol added and then stopped to ask Varian in a whisper. "Uh, how do you say thanks in Russian?"
"Spasibo." Varian replied.
"Yeah, Spasibo!" Carol called back to the security guard in very bad mispounation of the word before they headed into the club.
--------------------------
"He's already left. We just missed him." Hiro said as he hung up the phone.
The gang huddled upon a rooftop across the street from the Lucky Cat. They had wanted to catch Varian while he was leaving, but it seemed like they were too late.
"Did your aunt say where he went?" Gogo asked.
"No, and I couldn't figure out a way to ask her without raising suspicion."
"Why not just call him instead?" Honey Lemon suggest. "Ask him himself where he's at and tell him we want to meet up."
"I doubt he'd want to talk to me" Hiro sighed.
"I'm on it." Wasabi said, but after several rings the call went to voicemail.
"Now what?" Fred asked.
"Looks like we'll just have to track him down the old fashioned way." Hiro said as he walked over to Baymax and mounted the robot. "Let's go."
Everyone dispersed to look for the wayward teen.
--------------------------
"Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!" The merry group chanted as Varian and Jessica competed to see who could finish a whole pint of beer first. The others having given up the challenge before hand. They were neck and neck but the birthday girl sputtered with laughter at the last minute and Varian scored the win. He slammed the empty mug on the the table with a wide grin as the rest of the gang applauded.
"Ok, you win," Jessica conceded. "But beer is easy. I'd like to see you try that with some hard stuff, like whiskey or tequila."
"I don't know what tequila is, but your on!" Varian shouted over the den of noise.
The club was dark and smoky, with the only light coming from the flashing strobe globe twirling above the dance floor. Music blared a thumping beat that resonated in your chest and patrons crowded around to dance, drink, and make out. The little group had taken up a small round table off in the corner so as the better hear each other talk, but even then one had to half yell to be heard.
"Hey, can we get some shots over here?" Jake called to a waitress, then he turned to Varian and said, "Okay, you wanna play? We'll do a round of shots. Most down the hatch wins. Loser pays for the drinks."
"Deal" Varian agreed.
The waitress brought a tray of shots and Varian eyed the small glasses smugly. You could down one in a single gulp. This would be easy he thought. Only to nearly lose with the first sip alone. Whatever this tequila was, it was stronger than either ale or wine and burned the back of his throat as it went down. He finished the drink and tried to suppress a cough.
"Not as easy as you thought it was, hun?" Jake smiled as he picked up his second glass.
Varian however was not one to give up easily, and besides he really didn't want to blow through all of his hard earned money in one night. So he steeled himself and grabbed another shot, and then a another, and another.
On the fourth shot Varian saw Jake starting to slow, his face becoming red from alcohol. Varian too was becoming lightheaded but he pressed on and nabbed his fifth drink. He didn't notice if Jake had drunk his fifth yet or not, he was too focused on winning, but as he reached for the sixth he heard the other guy call out defeat.
"Okay, okay! You win!"
Varian flashed a grin and drunk the sixth anyway in celebration; just to rub it into other college kid's face. This last glass he also slammed hard upon the table in victory as the tiny crowd around him cheered.
Jake pulled out his wallet to pay the tab, both annoyed and begrudgingly impressed that he had lost.
"You're like the scrawniest guy alive; where do you put it all?" Daryl asked incredulously.
Varian shrugged his shoulders as he had no real answer to give.
"Well let's take a break from the booze for a while." Carol interceeded. "I mean we came here to dance after all. That is if you boys can still stand after all that."
She tugged on Varian's sleeve and pulled him to the dance floor and the rest of group followed after them.
Varian stood in the middle of the floor at a lost of what to do. He wasn't a bad dancer persay, but he didn't know any American steps and he doubted any of the more traditional folk dances that he knew would fit with this type of music.
"So..how does this dance go?" He shouted Carol above the music.
She laughed, "Anyway you want it to. Just feel the music." She swayed her hips in time to the beat to give him an idea.
Varian figured he would look silly doing that, it was clearly more of a move for women, but he did see most of the men jumping up and down and so he tried this in time with the music.
"Yeah, that's right! You got it!" Carol encouraged as she slid closer to him.
"Any luck?" Gogo asked Hiro as the gang gathered on top of a building in the middle of downtown.
Embolden, he grabbed her hand and gave her a twirl. This enlightened more laughter and they both broke down into giggles before carrying on with their dance.
--------------------------
"Baymax found an energy reading similar to Varian's close by, but it's fuzzy. He's probably in one of the buildings around here, but there's like eight or more clubs just on this street." Hiro explained.
"Well we can probably go in and check while you can stay out here and keep an eye on things." Honey Lemon suggested.
"Yeah, but there's no guarantee they'd let any of us in either." Fred pointed out."None of us are over 21."
"Look maybe we're over reacting here?" Wasabi offered optimistically. "What makes you think Varian could of snuck into any of these places? The kid still looks like he's twelve and he doesn't even have a driver license. Or it could even be that he was telling the truth about it being an innocent birthday par...."
He paused mid-thought as they heard a familiar laugh coming from the street below.
"I have found Varian." Baymax said, stating the obvious as they all peered over the roof to see their friend drunkenly walk out of one of the clubs across the street. He was with a short girl with a dark curly afro and they were giggling over something as they made their way towards the bus stop nearby.
"Or he could be stumbling out of a bar with a drunk girl hanging on his arm." Wasabi corrected himself, clearly disappointed.
Honey Lemon frowned. "I know her...she's in the sorority at SFAI."
"Carol." Gogo confirmed. She had been dragged to the occasional makeup party there, by Honey Lemon herself no less. "But she's a freshman. No way she's old enough to be drinking either."
"Peer pressure can often persuade people into partaking in unsafe activities." Baymax stated as he launched into his health education protocols. "If someone is pressuring you into doing something that you don't feel is safe; say no and walk away..."
"Uh, yes, Baymax. We know." Hiro informed the robot.
"So do we go down there now to talk to him, ooorrrr..." Fred asked, but the arrival of the bus answered for him. Varian and the girl boarded the public transport before anyone could to do anything.
They all exchanged worried and exasperated looks with each other before taking off to follow the tram.
Varian stood in the middle of the bus holding on to one of the center poles. He and Carol were the only two occupants aboard besides the driver, and he could have sat down anywhere, but he was beginning to feel woozy from all the alcohol and standing upright helped to keep him balanced.
--------------------------
Carol however decided to sit down. She sat across from him with her face in the palm of her hand and her eyes sleepily staring out at nothing in particular.
"Do you have to work tomorrow too?" She asked suddenly, breaking the quiet.
"Uh..not sure. Probably. I usually work weekends. Either way though, I know my aunt has been talking about us all spending some 'quality family time' together all weekend long."
Carol smiled. "Responsible, family man, a great dancer, it's a wonder you're still single."
Varian blushed but laughed off her comment. "Responsible? Me? Yeah, no…..but family does mean a lot to me and I did promise Aunt Cass, soooo, sorry I had to bail out early again. But you know, you could have stayed at the party without me."
Carol shrugged. "Eh, I was about done anyways. The guys are fun to hang out with and all, but after awhile you start to feel like a fifth wheel, ya know?"
"Yeah, I know how that feels like." Varian agreed dryly.
"But you do know you didn't have to escort me home right?" Carol added with a laugh.
"I know, I just, I wanted to make sure you got home safe."
"Ever the true gentlemen, hun?"
Her smile grew wider and Varian couldn't tell if she was teasing or flirting. He rubbed the back of his head self-consciously. He was beginning to like this new girl, but he wasn't always the best at picking up social cues and he didn't want to ruin anything by being presumptuous.
"Well, I don't know about that, but looking out for one another is just what friends do, right?"
Carol looked surprised by that comment. "I..I guess…I have a hard time picturing Jake or Daryl doing anything so chivalrous through."
She snickered at that, but Varian tilted his head in confusion.
"But I thought you guys were friends?"
"Oh don't get me wrong, they're good people and all, it's just all we do is hang out at parties sometimes. I don't expect them to like loan me money or come and bail me out of the slammer or anything. We ain't that close."
She sounded nonchalant but Varian nevertheless grew concerned.
"Then who is?" He asked.
Carol was caught off guard by that question.
"Who do you call when you need help?" He clarified.
She opened her mouth to answer, but no sound came out and she just as quickly closed it again. They awkwardly stared at each other for a few moments before the bus came to a stop in front of the SFAI campus. Carol quickly got up and hurried off the tram. Varian rushed after her.
"I'm sorry! Did I say something wrong?"
She didn't answer him but instead started to storm up the front porch steps in front of the sorority house.
"Look, I didn't mean to offend you." He called after. "I..I just…"
He trailed off and she paused on the stair. She didn't turn to face him, but the very fact that she was no longer running away encouraged him to try again.
"Look, I just, I know what it's like to be on your own, and I know how hard it is to move someplace where you don't really know anybody and nothings familiar and you don't feel like you always fit in. I.. I just meant that if you ever needed someone, for anything, you could call me...you know, if..if you wanted to.. that is."
She finally turned to look at him with that admission. There was a pout on her face and tears threatened to spill from her eyes, but she tried to make a joke instead to distract from this.
"You know most folks don't talk like you do." She half heartedly laughed. "You sound like a character out of a cheap rom-com."
He offered her a small smile. "Eh, well, what can I say? I am Russian remember."
They broke down into soft giggles at that.
"You wanna come inside and grab a coffee?" She asked after there laughter had subsided.
"Oh, I'd love to, buuuut it's after one. I should probably get going soon." He declined.
"Well alright, but you have my number, so don't be a stranger." She said before giving him a wink and another of her charming smiles.
She waved him goodbye before heading inside. Varian waved back and then turned to leave, only to be confronted by the rest of his friends waiting for him at the bus stop.
They were dressed in their armor and stood there glaring at him sternly.
"Hey...guys.." Varian slowly said, confused as to why they were here."What's going on?"
"We could ask you the same thing." Gogo replied.
"Uh...well, I'm heading home from a party, soooo..." He made to leave, fully ready to just walk to the next stop instead of hanging around for yet another argument, but Wasabi placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him.
"Do have any idea what an incredibly stupid thing you just did today?" His friend asked.
Varian cast him an angry pout and back-peddled away defensively. He stumbled a little, still feeling tipsy from the tequila, but righted himself before falling.
"You can barely even stand up." Wasabi admonish, further driving home his point.
Varian huffed in frustration and threw an accusing glare at Hiro. He was getting really tired of everyone judging him and he rightly guessed that the other boy had dragged their other friends into this. However before he could respond, Gogo laid into him instead.
"You broke your promise."
Varian's stomach dropped as he realized that, yes, he had indeed went back on his word about not trying to purchase alcohol. Yet, he still wasn't ready to admit fault. Who were they to act so high and mighty? It was just a few drinks? It wasn't like he had hurt anybody.
"So what's it to you?" He threw back."It's not like what I do affects any of you. Me going to a party now and then doesn't harm anyone."
"B..but you could get hurt." Honey Lemon timidly said.
Varian looked at her confused. What did she mean hurt? It was just a party.
"You snuck into a club at sixteen with bunch of strangers." Fred explained. "Like that's just ain't safe, man."
"Fred's right," Wasabi added, "anything could have happened to you in there and we wouldn't have known."
And for the first time, Varian started to actually feel guilty as he realized just how worried his friends were for him. However his defensiveness kicked back up when Hiro added his two cents.
"You need to stop and think about what you're doing first. You can't just keep jumping into situations without…"
" Oh knock it off!" Varian interrupted. "I am sick and and tired of everyone telling me what I can and can't do! I've been on my own since I was fourteen! I know how to take care of myself, alright!"
"No you don't." Gogo pushed back. "You know how to survive, and I hate that you had to, but that's not the same thing as actually being mature. Now just stop and come with us; we're taking you home."
She reached out to grab hold of Varian's sleeve and to pull him along, but Varian wouldn't comply. He wasn't entirely sure what happened next, in his addled state, but she pulled in one direction and he tugged his arm away in another. Either her blades rolled out from under her or he didn't realize his own strength, but either way Gogo wound up lying flat on the ground after their struggle.
Everyone froze in shock and Varian felt his heart race as his anger turned into alarm and shame.
"Gogo!" Honey Lemon rushed to her friend's side to help her up. "Are you alright?"
Gogo refused the help however. Instead she gave Varian a hurtful and angry glare as she picked herself off the ground. His breath shallowed as he waited for her to go off again, but all she did was shake her head at him, turned around, and then skated away.
That was somehow even worse than a lecture.
Honey Lemon followed after her.
"Dude, what is wrong with you!?" Hiro reprimanded and all Varian could do was look at him with wide eyes. What was wrong with him?
"I...I...I don't know!" He choked." I just...I just wanted to forget… just for a little awhile. Forget that I'm...I'm.. b-broken."
"And how does this help?" Wasabi asked, and Varian had no answer.
"Look, I know you've been through some really messed up stuff." Wasabi continued. "More than most people ever will, and I'm sorry you had to go through that, but you can't keep on like this." He sighed in defeat. "Come and gets us when your ready to actually deal with things." And then he too turned and started to walk off.
Fred cast worried glances between Varian and the direction of where their friends were leaving, unsure of what to do. Ultimately, he too turned away and reluctantly made after the rest of the group.
Varian could hardly see through the tears now. They were leaving him. Everyone was leaving him. They always did at some point, and here he had dared to hope things might just be different in this new world. Yet, he had no one to blame but himself.
That's when he noticed Hiro and Baymax still standing there, watching him disquitedly.
"Well, aren't you going to leave too?" He asked accusingly.
Hiro took a moment to find the answer, but when he did he said, "Why should I? We're going to the same place, remember." He held out a hand to Varian. "Come on, Aunt Cass is waiting."
Varian blinked through his tears to see Hiro standing before him with his arm outstretched and a look of concern on his face. Varian's breath quickened and his vision swam. He had felt lightheaded all night and now the added stress of the recent fight only seemed to highlight just how drunk he really was. He was so sure he had been careful, that he hadn't really had that much, but that didn't stop the ground from rushing up to meet him as he fell, nor the darkness enclosing around him as he fainted dead away.

The Coffee Shop: Part Four: Part One
Summary: Bucky is a retired military veteran suffering from PTSD. He meets Avelyn, a headstrong entrepreneur, one day at her cafe with Steve and then everything changes.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Black! OC
Word Count: 1.7k+
Warnings: None
A/N: This is just a brief little fluffy filler which is half of the original chapter 4 that I couldn't finish because I just finished school exams and I'm probably going back to school just now despite Covid-19 so I haven't had much time to write. The next half of chapter 4 should be up in a week hopefully and it'll be a whole lot more interesting than this
PREVIOUS PART
Later that evening, an hour before closing, while Avelyn was taking a nap, she heard the bell for the shop go off and a knock at the door because she wasn't stupid to leave the door open. It was New York after all, she'd get robbed or worse kidnapped, not like her mother would mind if it happened.
"I'm coming." She yelled walking towards it. As she unlocked the door, a familiar figure bounded inside. "Were you sleeping on the job?" Morgan said.
Avelyn shrugged, "I'm my own boss. Why are you here?"
"I said I'd pick you up." Morgan stated like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yeah at nine. Its five."
"Well its nine somewhere, plus I remembered that I can't trust you to get ready on your own." Morgan wasn't lying, if left up to her, she'd go to the club in a pair of jeans. She was really over her socialite days but Morgan didn't exactly care, if Avelyn was going out with her, she'd look damn good.
Avelyn was grateful to have a best friend that cared about her wellbeing as much as Morgan did but at the same time, it did get a little frustrating and tiring because Morgan was pretty high maintenance at times.
"Fine, just lemme close up."
"Oh, so this is what it looks like when it's open, could've fooled me."
Avelyn rolled her eyes, "You're lucky I love you." As she moved behind the counter to organize her stuff, Morgan took a seat at the same stool Bucky was on earlier.
"So what are we gonna do about lover boy?"
Avelyn's eyes widened in panic, there was no way in hell she was letting Morgan get involved. She'd scare the boy off because the Starks weren't exactly known for being the most subtle people ever.
"There's no we in this Morgs unless you're speaking French."
Morgan glared at her, "Avelyn, you gotta stop shutting me out like this. All I ever do is try to help you and you just push me away. You've gotten away with the excuse of being busy with the shop for too long now, when the truth is, you're just like Bucky, everytime someone tries to care for you, you push them away and I'm getting tired of it."
As much as it stung to hear, Avelyn knew what Morgan was the truth. She felt like a hypocrite really, judging Bucky for the same thing she'd been doing for over a year.
Avelyn sighed, "I'm sorry Morgan. You're right, I shouldn't push you away like that. It's just hard with everything that's happened."
"Lynn, we've been friends for almost our entire lives. I know you better than you know you, it shouldn't be hard. Instead of making excuses, take accountability."
"I hate it when you're right." Avelyn said. Morgan rolled her eyes, "Ever since we met, I've always been right."
Avelyn thought back to the day when she first met Morgan.
It was the first day at her new kindergarten and Avelyn was incredibly nervous to be going to a new school. At school, she was called up to the front of the class by her teacher Ms. Birch to introduce herself.
"Hi, I'm Avelyn." That's all she could manage to get out in front the class. Ms. Birch had smiled gently at her and pointed to the only free seat, a red chair next to a pretty brown haired girl, "Go sit by Morgan."
Avelyn clutched her yellow backpack to her chest and reluctantly took the seat next to Morgan.
Morgan had smiled widely at her, "You were scared, weren't you?"
Avelyn nodded. Morgan was surprisingly articulate for her age but you couldn't expect less from the daughter of one of the smartest men in the world
"You don't speak much, do you?" Morgan asked.
Avelyn nodded again. To her, Morgan was intimidating, she was bold enough to start a conversation with someone she didn't even know. Oh, how she wished she could be like her.
"Well I talk enough for the both of us." She said, extending her hand, "I'm Morgan Stark and you are?"
"Avelyn Forsythe." Avelyn shyly took her hand and shook it.
"I think you and I are going to be great friends Avelyn Forsythe."
After that day, Avelyn and Morgan were practically inseparable. Her mother had been excited when she found out that Avelyn had made a friend, until she found out whose daughter Morgan was.
When she did, she tried everything to break up the friendship but the bond formed that day was inseparable and while Ava wasn't pleased, she ignored the friendship and avoided all unnecessary interaction with Morgan and after several very uncomfortable encounters at her house, Avelyn decided that it'd be best if she went to the Starks instead of letting Morgan come over.
Tony and Pepper, on the contrary were excited that Morgan had made a friend, because most of the other children were scared of her. Morgan had a tough shell but underneath that exterior, she was a total softie but most people didn't stick around long enough to find that out but Avelyn did and over the years, the Starks began to regard Avelyn as their own child, even letting her call them mom and dad.
When her own parents weren't there for her, Tony and Pepper were. For every fight with her parents and school dance, for her first date, boyfriend and heartbreak, for every birthday and Christmas, for every single event in her life, the Starks were there. Ava and Adam might have been her biological parents but Tony and Pepper were the ones who raised her into the woman she was.
"You're thinking about it too aren't you?" Morgan asked.
"About what?"
"The day we first met."
Avelyn had to admit that Morgan's sense of perception was annoyingly uncanny, "Yeah, I am. How'd you know?"
"Because I was thinking about it too." Morgan's voice was wistful and longing and in that moment, the air was thick with nostalgia. The memories of childhood innocence and naivete, of the happier days before the heartbreak and pain swirling around them and for the first time in a while, the coffee shop didn't seem so gray.
It was like the cloud of hopelessness and broken dreams surrounding the place had been lifted and Avelyn felt something in her chest, that hadn't been there in a while: the joy and hope she'd had the day she'd signed on the line to buy the shop.
The moment left as quickly as it came but Avelyn knew that something had changed.
Taking a deep breath, she smiled at Morgan, "Let's get out of here, we got a club that's calling our name."
"Now, that's the spirit Lynn." Morgan clapped her hands excitedly.
When Avelyn stepped around the counter, Morgan wrapped her hand in hers and began pulling her towards the door and despite all the craziness of the world, right then and there, it was like she and Morgan, were just two little kids running hand in hand on the playground, like they used to years ago.
"Thank you."
"Always."
When Morgan parked the Porsche in her driveway, Avelyn had never been more happy to get the hell out of a car. Morgan, just like her father drove like a maniac, she was pretty sure they'd committed at least fifteen driving offenses. The fact that they hadn't been pulled over was nothing short of a miracle.
"Now I remember why I don't get into cars with you." Avelyn gasped clutching her hand to her chest.
"Don't be such a baby Lynnie." Morgan rolled her eyes.
"I'm not a baby Morgs, you're just crazy."
Too caught up in their argument, they didn't even realise that Tony was walking towards them.
"Well, I see my car made it back in one piece."
Morgan shrugged, "I learnt to drive from you daddy."
"Which is exactly why I'm scared. Avelyn looks like you nearly killed her." Tony said taking in Avelyn's shaking form.
"Dad, I'm telling you she's a psychopath." Avelyn wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Tony smiled as he held her, "I missed you around here kiddo."
"I missed you guys too." In Tony's familiar arms, she felt at ease.
"Then maybe you should come round more often, you've always been my favorite child." Tony teased.
"Hey!" Morgan objected.
"I'm just joking Morgan, I love you both equally. Now why don't you kids run in and see your mom."
Walking into the Stark mansion was like coming home. The walls were covered in pictures of Tony, Pepper, Morgan and her, unlike her house where if you didn't know that Forsythes had a fifth child, no one would know about Avelyn.
As they walked towards the stairs, they heard the familiar clack of heels on the marble tiles and turned to see Pepper running towards them.
"Lynnie it's so good to see you again, I've missed you." Pepper squealed pulling Avelyn into a hug.
"I missed you too mom."
"How's the shop going?"
"Its honestly a mess." Morgan piped up. Avelyn turned and glared at her. Morgan shrugged innocently, "I'm just being honest."
"I wish you'd let us help you. We're more than willing." Pepper said gently.
Avelyn sighed, maybe it was time she put aside her pride and take the offer because if she didn't start making money soon, she'd lose the shop.
"I'll think about it, I promise."
Pepper smiled, "Good, do you girls want snacks or anything?"
Morgan rolled her eyes, "Mom, we're twenty six and going drinking, we do not need snacks."
"Lynn just make sure that she eats something. You know how she gets when she gets drunk on an empty stomach." Tony says walking into the room and pulling Pepper into a hug.
After holding back Morgan's hair in various club bathrooms for years and putting up with the crying and the extreme hangovers, Avelyn knew better and she mouthed a yes to Tony over Morgan's protests.
The familiarity of going out with her friends and just being back here with her family made Avelyn the happiest that she'd been in so long and internally she committed herself to having fun tonight because she deserved it. She swore not to think about her family or the shop or even Bucky but just to let loose and enjoy her first night out in over a year.

T W E L V E • A Gwilym Lee Story | 2. the one where the assistant goes missing.
chapter inspiration:
A/N: Priyanka Chopra is playing Keya. Enjoy 😊
+
Gwilym •
Keya lied, lounged across the vintage coral sofa. Her plump, rouge lips protruding into a heart shape. Sharpening the fullness of the bottom of her face. Relaxing the cream sheer fabric, clinging to her warm russet body.
The bronzing shine of her legs escaping from underneath it. Glistening against the bright lights centered on her. As I rolled my lens, trying poorly to focus on her face as she playfully loosened the fabric for me. Vividly showing off her the dark shade of her nipples.
"K, you're making me lose focus." Sighing after I had spoken.
I wasn't complaining too much about it, they were quite gorgeous like I remembered. Well-endowed, balancing out her curvaceous, golden physique.
She startled me when a unrestrained, blissful melody of a laugh fell from her full lips. Smirking as I watched her head fall back in restoration. Her long black waves dropping behind. Seductively meeting her hands to her legs as they curled up, bending at the knees. Now resting her elbows on them.
"Come on Gwilym, you know it's been a while." She insisted, like she has since she took off her street clothes for this magazine shoot.
Keya and I were never to be tamed in each other's presence. Proof was the way we left Room 34 in Los Angeles the last time we met up. After getting a few cocktails from the hotel lobby when we came back from Saint Laurent's fashion show.
Wide eyed at the thought, fumbling with the settings of Canon. "It has been a while," I began, bringing the camera back to my face. Wanting to catch up with our month drought. "Shame these photos should've been taken a week ago." I finished then, smirking before instructing for her next pose.
-
Our session finally ending, I stood at my white tall table. Organizing some of the film shots we had taken for the Renaissance theme, explaining all the nudity and vintage props clogging up the minimal interior of my studio. The permanent marker fumes colliding with the sandalwood cleaner used the night before. I scribbled my signature at the bottom, making piles of which went, where for my assistant Lolly. Trying to avoid any confusion.
"It was nice seeing you today Mr. Lee." Keya's Indian summer tongue pulling me from my concentrations. I looked up to her, slightly leaning on the top, fully clothed now with her bag over shoulder. "I wish I could say the same." I lied bluntly. Feeding into her.
Going back to organizing, avoiding her contact and hearing her tone shift. "What? Why's that?" She questioned, as I slowly place the stack neatly on the table. I turned to her, looking down at her brown eyes growing wide in wonder. Moving the long jet black hair resting heavily on her shoulder with my hand.
"You talked back too much for your own good today," I explained, before I wrapped my hand in it like a reminder. Pulling her close to me and my other hand meeting her jaw. She was never much for a soft gestures as her pretty teeth peered at me.
"I did?" She mocked, I nodded. Bringing my lips close to her ear, "Mhm," I reassured, "You're lucky I don't like messes in my studio." Tasting the edge of her jaw, still just as sweet as the last time.
Keya went on about her whereabouts for tonight, she was my last client today and my schedule had no intrusions. Plus she was Mika Agarwal's daughter, New York's finest gallery director. I've been killing for a spot on his grand white walls of Gallery Fusion on 23rd and Walnut. I'd make her come more than she has ever with me, as long as my name left her lips at the dinner table.
-
I excused myself, taking the three stacks of proofs and walking little ways down the hall to Lolly's office I gave her.
Lolly is this perky, twenty one year old strawberry blonde with a cute heart shaped butt in athletic leggings. She has been my assistant for about three months now, I think? I'm not exactly sure. At first I didn't think that it would be because the first set of proofs that I handed to her ended up at the wrong magazine building.
She improved shortly after she apologized and fought with no luck of getting them back. Her style changed, she came to work early giving her the opening job, her office and desk more organized. We fucked a few times after some long nights, alcohol coursing and we had some things in common. She was quite the chatter box when I'd down on her and she always tasted like tangerines.
As I grew closer, I noticed the light was off through the blinds of the glass walls. I furrowed my brows, adjusting my sleeve to look at my watch and remembering she came back from lunch earlier on with a coffee for me.
The door was unlocked, nothing had been moved except for a picture frame or two of her and friend and Paris that she wanted to visit soon. They were gone off the standing shelf nearby. Did she ask to leave early? I thought to myself as I walked around. Sometimes knowing my own self that I could've let it slip.
"Hm." I hummed to myself, taking a second glance before reaching her desk to write notes on her pink note pad. Noticing the keys placed on top of it.
The studio's keys. The ones she used to open for me, when I got conscious enough to make it to work. I went to continue the note when I began connecting the missing things and the keys and–
Fuck.
I heard a slight sigh from the doorway, Keya was now standing there. "Hold up?" She questioned my facial expression that was not equivalent to my racing brain.
"I think Lolly quit on me." I muttered, shuffling loudly through her desk drawers noticing some other things missing.
Keya walked closer to the desk, "Maybe you shouldn't hire them so young next time." She nagged, lightly giggling and it honestly was not the time to do so. She was right though, being young herself once and swarmed by naivety.
I ran my hand through my curls, sighing in frustration. I looked at the card key Keya left on the desk, the sound of the shedder ripped when I placed it through it. Clearing the notepad and finding a pen, planning what I was going to put into the newspaper this week. I was going to be here for while.
Now hiring for assistant position...

Sylvia •
I had decided to take up Lucy’s offering of moving in with her, upstate in the Big Apple. I was a bit nervous, I won't shy about it. The sudden change was huge, for many and myself. The last time I ever did anything like this was when I got my first apartment... with Ben.
That was one thing weighing on me for the last 24 hours, Ben contacted me three days ago about something he forgot in our once shared closet. Luckily, he asked if we could meet at our used to be regular coffee shop. Avoiding the moving plan. I hadn't told him about New York. He looked good after two weeks of no contact, he cut his hair and got new shoes.
But I didn't buy it when he mentioned he missed me, because I had heard he was still couching it with a mutual friend of ours. Even with the inevitability of still feeling the miss of him. I know I deserved better.
I sat slouched back and my sandals resting on the glove compartment. The wind swarming in from the passenger window. Intertwining with the dark brown stands, tickling my skin.
A sudden stop from approaching a red light had taken me away from the bright screen of my phone. Looking past my feet and out the dashboard. Before Lucy hit the exposed skin of my thigh.
"Oooh we're going to have so much fun!" She spoke of excitedly, practically jumping out of the drivers seat. I was almost nervous about it when we swerved a little on the road after the light had turned.
Lucy hasn't stopped talking since she picked me up from Grand Central Station.
I chuckled at her high spirit, my eyes meeting the hem of my dress. "I can only imagine what you've planned." I replied, shooting a sweet smile at her and meeting her bright blue eyes.
As much as I was nervous about this whole, leap into a new atmosphere. It was so nice to see Lucy after a year and half. We parted ways after we graduated college. Her bright blonde hair was shorter than the last time I seen her. She had a pretty glow after coming back from Dubai, and she had quite sophistication now in her style with working in the modern fashion work.
She was still herself though. All smiles, eyes bright, still listened to radio tunes, loud and had no harms in telling you what's what. I had taken her phone call a week ago as a sign, a good one cause I knew she wouldn't let me fall into a hole even if I'd dig it myself.
"Mhmmm," She began, her eyes still on the road. "For starters, we're going to get you a new beeper." I furrowed my eyes,
"And why? I haven't even placed fresh undies into my dresser yet." I questioned, this girl never had any order. "We need to get you a new code and kiss all the losers goodbye."
I rolled my eyes, resting a little on our share console.
"Plus I bought a shelf of wine for unpacking tonight after seeing the boys!” She finished, taking a turn onto 24th street. My brows furrowed, “The boys?” I questioned. I couldn't believe that she had a double date ready. Trying to play match maker once again.
“I hope they're a gay couple." I replied, folding my arms across my chest.
Lucy just giggled loudly, "No you silly goose, they're our neighbors across the hall. Three nice lads that I have dinner with on Tuesdays."
And today is Tuesday. Splendid.

Unexpected 14.5
Pairing: Jungkook x Reader
Summary: You never expected your trip to Seoul to end up like it does. You didn’t expect to step off the plane and have coffee pour down your shirt. You also didn’t expect the guy to offer to show you around the city. You notice things about him that don’t quite make sense, like how he shows interest but will only see you when he has the time which is at random hours during the day and night. Who knew your only friend in Seoul would turn out to be an international star and just how difficult things could get.
Word Count: 4k
Warning: None
Genre: Romance/Friendship

Jungkook was sitting in his room leaning back in his computer chair to stare at the ceiling. He had been sitting like this for the past two hours trying to process the information that was given today. Had this happened months ago he would probably be more excited than he was right now. He felt bad because he knew he should be more excited but other thoughts plagued his mind. He heard a knock at the door but the person on the other side didn’t wait to be invited in.
“You’re going to have to stop sulking Jungkookie. It’s not the end of the world.” Jimin leaned against the door frame.
“I know it’s not, but going on tour for months doesn’t sound as appealing as it used to. Plus that leaves her here wi-”
“With Jackson?” Jimin interrupted and got a glare in response.
“That’s not what I was going to say.”
“Doesn’t make it any less true.” he shrugged.
“Did you come here to make me feel better or piss me off? I’m just curious.” Jungkook was now sitting up in the chair fully facing his best friend.
“Technically neither. Look all I was going to say is that maybe you should just talk to her.” Jimin hated seeing Jungkook struggle as much as he was, especially since he’d never seen him be this way about any girl before.
Jungkook groaned, “I just got her back. I don’t want to risk her cutting me out again.”
Jimin rolled his eyes, “Wow for knowing her so well you don’t give her much credit. Even I know she wouldn’t do that, so what’s this really about?”
He chewed on his lip debating on whether to truly open up about everything because he still hadn’t figured it out himself. “Like I said, I just got her back but my worry isn’t her cutting me out. It’s my life cutting her out that I'm worried about. I never really gave any of it much thought before because I didn’t have to worry about anyone else. Now everything I do I'm thinking about how it would affect her or what she would want to do. The thought of being away for months and not seeing her just gives me this awful feeling in my chest.” his hand subconsciously started rubbing against his sternum.
Jimin felt for him because everyone’s first love was always the hardest and Jungkook was having to go through it during the rise of his career. “I’m sure Bang would let her come visit us on tour or something.”
He shook his head, “No he’s already said he’s taking a risk.”
“But did you ask this specific question? I mean he’s letting her go with you when we’re filming for the Run episodes. He’s allowed her to go to smaller appearances, but if you want even a chance of you getting to see her on tour then ask. The worse he can say is no.” he watched Jungkook nod with his eyes cast down. Jimin knew this probably wasn’t the time to ask but he needed to know where the youngest members head was at. “What are you going to do when she has to go back home?”
Jungkook’s eyes quickly met his and Jimin could see the worry in his eyes, “I try not to think about it. I want to talk about it with her but every time it’s come up I quickly change the subject because I'm scared to hear what she’s gonna say. I know she can’t stay here forever but I don’t want an ocean between us. I don’t even like when there’s a room between us, and yes I know how pathetic that sounds.”
Jimin walked into his room and closed the door behind him and moved some things around so he could sit down because he was sure this conversation may last a while. “I know you think long distance relationships are doomed to fail, but not every relationship is the same.”
“I’m pretty sure this is different than most long-distance relationships.”
He nodded, “You’re right, it is. But I know you don’t like to lose so I'm sure you’d do anything you could to make it last. If not, there will be others later on that live in the same country as you do.”
“I don’t want anyone here, I want her.”
“Then tell her that. ” Jimin huffed, “The both of you are skirting around each other it’s driving us all insane. We know you like each other, even a blind person would be able to tell. You’re practically dating, the only thing your lacking is a title. At this point, we’re all waiting to walk in on you two, which if you do decide to do anything of the sort please shoot us a message to let us know not to come home.”
“It’s not that simple, we’ve had this conversation.”
“The last time we had it she didn’t know who you were and now she does.”
“We’re about to go on tour, I’d be a dick if I asked her to be my girlfriend and then flew around the globe for months without seeing her.” Jungkook felt like he was going in the same circle with Jimin and he just wasn’t understanding that it wasn’t as black and white as Jimin was trying to portray.
“Look, just try and talk to Bang. It can’t hurt to ask Jungkookie, because what if you never asked but he would have said it was fine. You’ll be kicking yourself later if you don’t at least ask.” Jungkook nodded, “Look we all like her, she’s great and I've never seen someone mesh so well with you like she does. She brings out a side of you we never got to see and you look happy, so don’t let this pass by just because you won’t ask a simple question.”
“Okay I'll ask.” he finally relented because Jimin had a point even though he wouldn’t admit it. “But I still don’t know how to tell her about the tour.”
“Don’t worry about that now. Just spend the time you can with her because it doesn’t matter how it turns out as long as you’ve spent today with her. We’ve been in meetings all day and had practice for part of it. So go see her because honestly, you’re depressing me with your mopey demeanor.” Jimin grabbed a jacket hanging off to the side and tossed it into his lap, “Now go, just remember we have an early practice so if you don’t come home at least set an alarm.”
“Really hyung?” Jungkook couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hey, you’ve done it before. Seriously, go see your girl.” he stood up and opened the door and left.
Jungkook sat in his chair debating if he should follow Jimin’s advice or not. He really did want to see Y/N because he hadn’t talked to her much since he had been in meetings for most of the day. After they were told they would be getting ready to go on tour he hadn’t looked at his phone because he was still trying to process the fact that he may not see her for months. He didn’t know how he was ever going survive if she moved back to America. He was in too deep with her and the thought of not getting to see her every day upset him more than he thought it would.
It wasn’t news to him that he was in love with her, but sometimes it still surprised him by just how much he did. It made him nervous because he’d never felt this vulnerable with anyone before but he couldn’t help but feel the way he did towards her. He tried so long to fight it and at some point, he couldn’t anymore, not when he kept getting insanely jealous every time he would call her and she was with Jackson. He didn’t have issues with Jackson, not really, but he envied that Jackson could be with her without any restrictions.
Jungkook grabbed his jacket and slipped it on. He grabbed his keys and turned off the light before heading towards the front door. When he came out into the living room he saw Jimin and Tae sitting there with a movie going. Jimin had a huge smile on his face and held his hand out in front of Tae.
“I don’t have cash on me now so you’ll have to wait.”
“You guys are betting on me again? Seriously?” it seemed to be a common occurrence now that he hung out with Y/N so much and they enjoyed teasing him way too much.
“I’m saving us all from Tae buying anymore Gucci.” Jungkook laughed and walked away when the two started arguing. He closed the door and walked towards the elevator. Despite not knowing how to tell Y/N about the tour he was going to take his hyung’s advice and just enjoy today with her because it was the one thing he was promised.
AN: Okay i won’t beat around the bush this chapter is shit, but i haven’t finished 15 and i didn’t want to leave you hanging even more so i figured giving an insight to JK again would work out pretty well. For the ones that have still stayed with me after this long pause I thank you. I really am sorry if you find this chapter as shitty as i do but it’s been crazy so far and i’ve been having to work through my lunch and that has made it hard to write as much as i have been because that was my main time to write.

The end.
When I was 14 I thought that nothing would go my way. That day, I thought my life was over and that was my first attempt. I ended up in the hospital and my parents found my letter. I was only a freshman in High School mind you. Since then, I really tried my best to work on myself. Fast forward almost 7 years later and I feel like I'm in the same boat, but now I really understand where my sadness really came from. Will this be the end today? I honestly don't know. But I always knew that I'm able to express more in writing than my words.
To my parents:
I'm sorry I was never your golden child. But here's the reality, your choice to force me to move to Texas was the worst thing you could ever do for me. You know what you did, you were being selfish. You thought you were benefiting me? No, you weren't, you honestly made my life worst. You ever realize since we moved here you never told me ONCE that you were proud of me for anything? Have you realize why I never came to ask you for advice or talk to you because you know .. I'm your daughter? Its because YOU ALWAYS CRITICIZED MY MENTAL HEALTH AND YOU ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL EVEN MORE hatred for showcasing any emotion. That's why our household was always broken. It wasn't me. It was because of both of you. Remember when you guys fought like every other year to the point that I thought someone was literally going to kill themselves or each other? I literally had to pull it together why? Why would a 10-year-old, or a 15-year-old or an 18-year-old need to see that REPEATEDLY in their lifetime? You guys always manipulated every situation, in my opinion, you guys never opened your eyes and saw how broken I really was. You guys never helped the situation you only made it worst too, in the end, benefit your selfish ways. You thought you brought me here to Texas because there were more opportunities? You brought me here to restrict me. You took all the opportunities I could have in NYC and forced me to work harder for something I knew at a young age I had in arms reach. You told me my mood changed since I came back from New York and you wanna know something. You’re right it did change cause it opened my eyes and saw how lonely I was. For 3 whole years, one person held me together and it took those 3 days to see that there is someone in the world who really does care about me. I came back from that trip and yes I was depressed cause I'm ALONE HERE. Since I met him, He talked to me every day. EVERY DAY since I moved here, helped me through my panic attacks, attempts and made me feel like a damn person unlike anyone in this god damn family. So, dad remember when you asked that question if you are doing something wrong? Yes, you did something wrong. You never saw how broken you made me. I haven't really eaten in a month. Every time I try to eat, whatever I eat. I puke it. You ruined me because you were selfish. Mom, we were never close, and now I see why. We never shared the same opinions but the reality is you were either angry or depressed and you only wanted to buy and shop. You only thought about making yourself happy and that was it. When you never got your way, you would manipulate me or dad for your own ways. Don't try to deny it. You know what you've been doing. I think all the “love” you try to showcase was fake and disgusting in the end and that's the truth. You guys w
To Steven:
I'm so grateful that I met you when I came here. I'm always in debt for the memories of watching football with you or your little parties. Or the idea of you slipping into this family. I'm sorry that we never got to go to a Cowboys and Giants game. That would have been such a memorable time. If anything happened to me, I would want you to tell J for me. He has gotten used to you and I'm happy about that. I rather him hearing the news from you than my parents to be honest
To Angie:
I’ve known you since 6th grade and you will always be my sister. We found our love for Big Time Rush and you became my concert buddies for so long. From there we decided to be Harley and Joker for Halloween and I wish we were able to do more. We celebrated our birthday as much as we did. I'm sorry that we weren’t able to celebrate our 21. Just know I tried my best. I tried my best for so long. I will always love you okay. You made such an impact as we grew up. -Your worldwide girl.
To JJ:
You would be thinking, why I would be writing a letter to you although we haven't talked as much since H.S. Well the reason why is because once you knew what I was going through you tried to save me. I'll always be appreciative for that. I'm sorry I didn't fight harder. I'm sorry that I’ll never get to see A4 or Captain Marvel. I'm sorry that Id never gets to meet Chris Evans or Sebastian Stan. I'm sorry I let you down as well.
To J;
“When every life meets another life, something will be born”
In the end, I can never really thank you enough for what you did for me. You fell in love with me when I was broken. I never thought that little ole me deserved to be loved. I could never thank you enough for keeping me motivated for so long. You were the only one that gave my life some kind of purpose. When you send me the winter soldier hat and then the Captain America bear. I knew I was worth something, I'm sorry it took so long for me to say “I love you” I feel like If I said that earlier or if I just opened my god damn eyes we wouldn't have had that fight. Then that thing with her wouldn't have had happened. Then I wouldn't have had those nightmares or anxiety attacks of losing you. I'm sorry for not saying it earlier. I was honestly scared of you leaving me, every time I said that to someone they always left. But you, no matter what stayed. I'm sorry for not being strong enough babe. I know for a fact you are my true love, and you are my soulmate. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I wanted to walk down the aisle in a white dress and see you cry tears of joy. I wanted us to write our wedding vows and end it with “I'm with you till the end of the line” .I wanted us to dance to “Dangerous Love” by 3STM. I wanted to go on coffee dates with you. I wanted to travel with you. I wanted to go to all the comic cons with you. I wanted to celebrate all of our birthdays together. I wanted to grow old with you. I wanted to have children with you. I wanted to be happy with you. You made me happy. You were the ONLY one who made me happy. I wanted to make your mom so happy knowing her son found the one. I wanted to cuddle with T’challa. I wanted to kiss you when the clock struck 12 on New Year's Eve. I wanted to open Christmas gifts with you. I wanted to have pokemon battle dates. I wanted to binge all the Marvel Movies and hear your wild conspiracy theories on what could have happened. I wanted to dress our family up as the Avengers so badly. I wanted to have a house that is decked out in Marvel and DC with Funkos and other merch. I wanted us to create so many memories together. My idea was that once I left Texas and spent the rest of my life with you, I’d have no more worries. I wouldn't have to cry myself to sleep every night with the thought of losing you. Or waking up to the idea of the world hates me. I love you more than anything. I never thought in my life that I’d find another soul so pure like yours. I know for a fact that there will be moments where I feel like I need to give up. But I know you never gave up on me. I just feel like Im in this battle alone sometimes because of the distance. In the end, You changed my life. You’re right. “The sun will shine on us again”

SIDE HUSTLE DIARIES When people ask, “What do you do professionally?” I usually feel like an imposter in my response, “I’m a freelance writer.” I wonder if I’ll always feel the need to use air quotes around the word, “writer”. Maybe until the day I’ve sold X number of books or get published in some reputable magazine or finally achieve whatever goal it is I’ve created that will deem me worthy of this title. Anyone that’s worked freelance can understand the anxiety that comes with it. When will I land my next project? How much should I charge? How do I manage my time? Can I afford health insurance? How do I file my taxes ? To be honest, it can be tempting for me to want to take the secure job with benefits and a bi-weekly paycheck that I secretly hate. Writing’s never been my “main hustle ”, I’ve always kept a full-time job that pays the bills and avoids any concern from family during the holidays about what I’m doing with my life. So, like every twenty-something year old girl living in New York City my writing started as a blog called, MeddyMade, which was more or less a platform to process my exciting new life in the city and the sabbatical I’d taken the year prior living in Hawaii and Australia working as a housekeeper, nanny, bartender, coffee shop toaster girl (like I said, I had a lot to process). Writing wasn’t a profession I believed could be my full-time job. I had a love-hate relationship with my writing. When I was in the zone I loved it, and when I wasn’t I’d go dark, claim I was uninspired, and never write a word for years. It wasn’t until I became a copywriter at Ralph Lauren that I thought writing full time might be a possibility. The position didn’t prove to be as glamorous as I’d anticipated. Most days I was sitting in a room transcending ill-fitted, jersey-knit, mom tops into, “Cascading ruffles with a V-neckline add a touch of drama, making this decadent wrap the perfect after-dark option.” (insert vomit emoji). In short, corporate fashion did not fulfill my creative needs so, I found a blog in my neighborhood and proposed writing a dating column about pick-up lines and my failed romantic escapades. Life took an unexpected turn when I moved to Los Angeles and was hired as a researcher on a show for The History Channel about UFOs called, “Hangar 1”. Due to some staffing issues, I got to take a stab at writing a couple scripts, one being about underwater UFOs and the other, people being chased by said UFOs. Unfortunately, the show did not get a third season so I took a job I found on Craigslist seeking fashion copywriters. It was the classic start-up, I wore “many hats”. The most interesting being when my boss, a former celebrity stylist, asked me to pull outfits for Paris Hilton and deliver the $20K worth of clothing to her home in Beverly Hills that had a pink Bentley in the driveway. Months later a friend reached out and offered me a freelance job I couldn’t refuse back in NYC at a reputable fashion brand. I was making the most money I’d ever made but I felt as though I were in boot camp, working 18 hour days, learning to anticipate outlandish requests like where to buy the best matcha cake in Manhattan or standing in a line five blocks long to buy a dozen cronuts for an office birthday party. I was on track to make a pretty decent living but I couldn’t get over the fact that I was basically the fucking cake girl with a fancy title. What was this job preparing me for? I thought I had a lot more to offer than my position would ever allow and it became clear I had to move on. I won’t bore you with my entire resume but as you can see I have changed jobs a lot. Looking back, I can see that my fear of immersing myself in writing prevented me from deciding whether I was even any good at it, or if I actually hated or if I just wasted all this time and now I’m old, and ugly and obviously useless (jk). I spent so much time taking EVERY opportunity out of fear I’d miss THE opportunity. You know, the one that magically launches me on my path to my future dream job, husband, and then children and ultimately a peaceful death preferably in my sleep in a place that my husband won’t be the first to find me because I once heard that when you die you apparently shit yourself and I really wouldn’t want that to be my last impression on the love of my life… I digress. Honestly, the only difference between me and freelance writers who don’t use air quotes was pretty simple, they were actually doing it. There’s some quote about inspiration being for amateurs and I couldn’t agree more, because anything worth going after takes discipline and practice. Call it cliché but knowing myself and what I’m capable of has taken me farther than any skill set, degree or financial advice ever will. If I had to boil down the lessons I’ve learned up to this point there would be three. First, when I entered the workforce I didn’t know my ass from my elbow and how could I? I was 22 years old, from Maine, with a History degree and no real job experience trying to get into fashion, a field I knew little to nothing about. So, early on I learned that my network was my currency and if someone extended themselves or a contact of theirs I made it my mission for that person to walk away from meeting me thinking, “Wow, that girls got something”, my point is, you only get one first impression and you never know where it can lead. Second, difficult personalities are inevitable, I spent so much time wondering why someone didn’t like me and it got me nowhere. Third, have a sense of urgency, I’ve got real a tendency to overthink things and it gets in my way A LOT. Make a decision and take action, mistakes are necessary. So where am I now? Well, I wish I could say that I now confidently consider myself a writer without any hesitation and that I live each day by the lessons listed above, but the truth is I’m still figuring it out. I still wonder why certain people don’t like me, I still stay in some nights eating ice cream and watching Netflix when I should be going to a networking event and I still overthink a lot of things. So, I can sit here and tell you to always remember to take 20% out of your paycheck for tax purposes, or the 10 best ways to avoid procrastination or how not working in your pajamas provides optimal productivity, but I’m not going to because none of that really matters and you won’t get it right the first or second or maybe even third time. My only words of wisdom are that you already have all those answers and I have to imagine you’re probably not reading this because you think I do, you’re probably reading this because you’re waiting for something or someone to give you the permission to say fuck it because only you can make that choice. So, in the famous words of NIKE, just do it.
