A few minutes later, the odd group was trudging through the forest once more.
“She has a small army of guards armed with A350 blaster rifles, two HK-87 assassin droids, and a hired gunfighter.” Din was explaining. “He reads ex-military to me. Combined, not even your laser swords would be able to protect you from all that firepower.”
As their walk took a brief pause, Ahsoka looked as if she was holding back a smile.
“True.” she noted, “But don’t underestimate the Magistrate either.”
“Who is she?” Din asked, “She offered me a staff of pure beskar to kill you.” he informed.
Ahsoka crossed her arms over her chest,
“Morgan Elsbeth.” she started, “During the Clone Wars, her people were massacred. She survived and let her anger fuel an industry which helped build the Imperial Starfleet. She plundered worlds, destroying them in the process.”
Ellia found herself glancing around at the very-much-dead world around them.
“Yeah, it looks like she’s still in business.” she muttered under her breath.
Ahsoka turned her head back to them,
“When you were in the city, did either of you see any prisoners?”
Ellia nodded immediately,
“There were three villagers strung up just outside the inner gate.” she said, swallowing heavily at the memory.
“We must find a way to free them.” Ahsoka said boldly.
Ellia looked back and forth in between the two standing in front of her and couldn’t help the small laugh that emanated from her throat.
“A Mandalorian and a Jedi?” she noted, “They’ll never see it coming.”
That earned a smile from both of them, not that she could see of course.

After dropping Grogu off at the ship for his safety and hashing out a final plan, the group of them made for the city with haste as the sun slowly fell below the horizon line.
Ahsoka was to gain the attention of the guards at the front gate, while Din and Ellia would sneak around to the far side of the city calls, ready to jet behind enemy lines once Ahsoka had engaged the Magistrate.
As they crouched silently at the edge of the forest, they suddenly heard the sound of shouts coming from the top of the gate.
“It’s her! Sound the alarm!”
The orders were immediately followed by blaster fire, and the tolling of the large gong that stood atop the wall. From inside, they could hear the sound of many boots marching as the legion of guards organized themselves against Ahsoka’s presence, no doubt panicked villagers trapped underneath it all.
“They’re moving.” Din whispered. “Let’s go.”
With that, they sprinted out from the forest line, running straight towards the side of the wall, bracing themselves flat up against it as they shuffled further down.
From behind the stone, they could hear the sound of the fighting, signaling that Ahsoka had made her way inside.
“Are you sure about this?” Ellia suddenly asked as they continued to creep along the wall, her voice raised only enough to be heard over the noise coming from inside the city.
She heard Din sigh in response,
“Are we really about to have this conversation again?”
Ellia blinked in surprise.
From the opposite side of the wall, the fighting appeared to halt suddenly, and it grew eerily silent.
Din signaled for her to stop, and the two of them waited anxiously at the base of the wall. There came the soft cling of metal hitting stone, and Ellia briefly glanced over towards Din, who was missing one of his shoulder plates.
Their plan was in motion.
“Your bounty hunter failed.” Ahsoka said boldly in the distance.
Judging by their position, Ellia guessed that they were squatting just outside the piece of wall behind the prisoners on the left side of the main pathway.
“Tell me what I want to know.” Ahsoka’s voice came again, “Where is your master?”
“Kill her.” was the only response she was given.
Blaster fire echoed from inside once more, and Ellia felt Din’s arm slip underneath her legs and behind her torso, bringing her into his chest in one fluid motion.
She glanced up at him for a moment, her blaster already in hand.
“You’re gonna be unarmed for at least a couple seconds.” she whispered worriedly underneath the sound of continued fire.
“Beskar.” he reminded her in one simple word. “But you’ll still have to rain fire on them as we drop in.”
Ellia nodded,
“Easy”
The sounds of Ahsoka's fight inside the city walls progressed, and as it moved further down-village, they could also hear the screams of the prisoners as they continued to get electrocuted in the midst of the chaos.
That’s what made Ellia set her jaw purposefully.
“Ready?” Din asked her.
“Ready.”
At her words, the jetpack roared to life, lifting them up into the air. They arced over the wall in a matter of seconds.
“Please! Don’t!” one of the prisoners cried out below them.
As they beamed down towards the surface, Ellia used all of her effort to push herself out of Din’s arms, something she hadn’t discussed with him before hand, and landed a kick to the side of one of the guard's heads.
She quickly shot him dead, as Din took care of the one behind her.
Turning on her heels, she found herself coming face to face with the villager that they had met the day prior. He raised his hands in both surrender and understanding and without a word, began to help the two of them in freeing the prisoners.
The distant sound of screaming told Ellia that Ahsoka had it more than under control on her end of things.
She helped the last of the prisoners down,
“Get inside!” she ordered them sharply, watching as they scrambled away gratefully.
It was then that the main guard suddenly materialized in the center of the road.
Ellia stood side by side with the villager who had helped them, nervously glancing over at Din. The Mandalorian shook his head, gesturing with his hand for her and the man to stay back.
Seeming to read into the masked-warriors true meaning, the villager man attempted to usher Ellia into one of the common houses. As they got inside, he tried to close the door, but she stuck out her hand at the last moment, silently begging him to let her watch. She needed to know that Din was safe, and she needed an easy way out if he wasn’t.
The man nodded his understanding, taking a step back from the door to go and check on the others huddled inside, whom they had just rescued.
Behind where Din stood, on top of the wall that divided the Magistrate from the rest of the people in the city, stood Ahsoka. The wind flowed elegantly through her cloak as she made threatening eye-contact with the guard below. But not even a second later, she was gone, turning and leaping down into the part of the city hidden from their view.
Ellia turned her attention back towards Din, who was standing as still as a statue.
“So, you threw in with the Jedi.” the guard noted loudly from across the way.
The Mandalorian tilted his head to the side,
“Looks that way.” he replied sarcastically.
Ellia’s hand nervously pressed against the wall, straining to see the whole picture through the small crack in the doors. But what she could see, was the way that Din’s hand was expertly hovering over his blaster.
From behind the wall, there suddenly came the beginnings of a fight. The unmistakable sound of lightsabers igniting, followed by the clash of metal against energy. Shouts of defiance could be heard here and there, then there was a pause, but not a long one, as it continued shortly thereafter.
“Who do you think’s gonna win?” the head guard asked mockingly, “Could be your side...could be my side.” he said, taking a few cautious steps forward. “I've got no quarrel with you, Mandalorian.”
“That’s far enough.” Din barked, holding out his hand.
“You and I, we’re a lot alike.” the guard began rambling, obviously stalling for something. “Willing to lay our lives down for the right cause...which this is not.”
Ellia raised an eyebrow in confusion.
Just then, a loud clang of metal came from behind the gate, followed by a pristine silence.
“Sounds like you win.” the head guard remarked with the tilt of his head. He seemed wholly unbothered by the fact. He then slowly bent down to the ground, laying his blaster at his feet.
Din didn’t move.
The larger gun remained on the ground, but as the guard stood up, he was suddenly brandishing a pistol.
But before he even got the chance to fire forward, he was blown backwards by a shot from Din’s own.
Ellia sighed in relief as Din casually placed his gun back into its holster. She pulled the doors apart with a bit of effort, the man from the village right on her tail as she stepped back outside, glancing over at the unmoving body of the guard.
She turned back around with the intent to give Din a tired smile, but before she got the chance, the old man suddenly piped up from her side.
“Behind you!” he shouted urgently.
It was only then that she noticed one of the Magistrate’s droids up on the rooftop behind where Din was standing.
Blasterfire echoed out into the night. The droid’s head easily popped out of its socket from the result of a well-aimed shot. It’s metal body falling off of the roof, and onto the ground in an unceremonious heap.
Din’s head quickly whipped over his shoulder, his eyes finding where Ellia stood behind a smoking blaster. She sighed heavily, before dropping her arm back to her side.
“That-” she noted bitterly, gesturing over her shoulder at the house full of villagers, all who were watching on in awe. “-was not a part of the plan.”
Din walked up to her, shrugging his shoulders slightly.
“Pretty sure ninety percent of that wasn’t a part of the original plan.” he joked in return.
Ellia scrunched up her nose slightly as she stared right back up into the tinted t-visor of his helmet. But eventually, she sighed, true relief flooding her veins.
“It never is, huh?” she whispered quietly.
She heard Din scoff before suddenly feeling the cool of beskar pressing lightly up against her forehead. Smiling, she closed her eyes at the calming reassurance that they were both there, and alive.

Note
I don't know if Ahsoka would be familiar with what exactly a A350 blaster rifle is or what HK-87 assassin droids are but I love that Din doesn't assume she wouldn't. It's like how he talks to the baby or the Frog Lady. He doesn't tend to simplify what he's saying. He talks to them on an equal level.
Also I love that like Din doesn’t know shit about fuck but he’ll take a single look at a dude and know the make and model of his gun. I think that owns
