it was the first time she was ever told the concept of new year. the trailblazer felt that the flow of time was less of a focus when you were surrounded by endless galaxy and starlight. it was, however, still interesting to see the year coming to an end and how excited people on each planet were to celebrate the new beginning. even the star calendar was syncing with a few planets within the orbit. while the Stellaron vessel was awakened not too long ago, her beloved devil had lived for many many years.

he even told her about a new year kiss.

vergil had taken her to many places he had visited before, this time, she took him to one of the worlds she had the pleasure of visiting. the sky of xianzhou luofu was filled with countless starskiffs and various colors. the lights and the stars themselves accompanied their journey as she showed him around aurum alley, insisting that he would try at least half if not all the food each stall had to offer. there was a hint of pride in her eyes having been responsible for reviving the area itself with her own hands.

as the clock ticked closer to the end of the year, she took his hand and guided him to a secret spot not too far from the dock and the merchant guild. the clearing offered the pair a spectacular view of xianzhou aircrafts and the fireworks being readied to be set off.

" have you ever piloted a starship before ? " auric orbs gleamed in delight, humming as she gestured to the starskiffs floating about. " seems like fun. i wonder if i'll get to try it one day. if not the starskiffs then maybe other kind of starship. i'm sure it'll feel different than taking flight with wings. " Eden flashed him a knowing grin. he had blessed her with the rush of a flight from his wings before, after all. her attention, however, was draw towards the bright glowing hand of the clock. how it struck twelve.

without a warning, she pulled him in for a kiss. a light laugh bubbled from her given the impromptu act before it mellowed into a softer, affectionate lip-lock. the trailblazer melted into it, letting the fireworks illuminated the background as she savored the taste and warmth of his lips. she had a bright, almost cheeky grin on her face when she pulled back.

" happy new year. i'll be in your care this year too, vergil. "

The holiday of New Years were something that Vergil had seen far too often in his time. It was always the same old thing year after year for the half-devil, while he understood how celebration for this particular holiday went, he just never really celebrated because most of his new years, Vergil had spent all of them alone. Some in random hotels, some in top of buildings so he could at least watch the fireworks, or other times he'd spend it at some campfire on the outskirts of town while cooking a piece of cheap meat, either from a store or an animal he killed. Not once had Vergil ever had someone to celebrate with, he was almost always alone, but not this year.

For the very first time in his life, after several new year's spent all by his lonesome, the half-devil finally had someone this year, something he honestly thought would never happen to him. Over the many years, Vergil honestly believed that he would never be loved again, believed that happy endings didn't exist, at least not for him. All of that changed the moment he met Eden. What started off as a mere accident, the two had met while trapped in the Astral Plane, which got morphed and twisted due the the collision of their portal rifts. Despite the situation the two were in, they managed to escape.

The couple had been nearly inseparable ever since. Being both from opposite worlds didn't stop them, they kept in touch with a special multidimensional phone that they used to keep in touch, texting and calling almost every night when they were both free and not busy. Ever since that fateful encounter, the pair had gone on several dates together, Vergil often showing her worlds he'd been to, as well as even showing her several parts of his world that were free of hostile demon control thanks to Vergil's efforts as well as the other Devil Hunters.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Okay, alright. I promise, I'll try every best item on the menu, but I will not try the whole catalogue, even a demon has limits to how much we can eat."

This was Eden's very first New Years, considering that she had only just awoken recently from a long hyper sleep, there was a lot about the world Eden didn't know -- because her memories were gone, essentially erasing any knowledge of the person she was before she awoke. Vergil had taught her all about how the things she didn't know, as wll as New Years Eve and it's importance, as well as the fabled New Years kiss that every couple longed for, an experience Vergil never had the luxury of experiencing once in his life.

Their situations were entirely different, but Vergil did know about the pain of having no memory. When he was stuck in that armor as a puppet swordsman, the prince of darkness had completely taken his memories, and his humanity, leaving him a hollow shell, meant only to fight and kill, nothing more. If he was ever to meet the person who had stolen Eden's life from her, he would no doubt have some choice words for them -- or, choice cuts if it came down to it.

After spending all day together, Eden dragging Vergil to all the food stalls, trying to get him to try the best on the menu if not the entire menu, the Aurum Alley had a lot to pick from, he liked the variety. Once that was finished, she gave him a proper tour of the place. For a flagship, there was certainly a whole lot more to it than met the eye. It was a beautiful place, with stars of all kinds above them only enhancing the view.

As the trailblazer finished showing him around the world, Vergil listened as she would elaborate more on every area and place Eden showed him. From the Stargazer Navalia, to the Exalting Sanctum, all the way around and right to the Central Starskiff as he continued to let her lead the way forward. Not long after, the tolling at the bell that signified that it was just over half an hour until midnight. Hearing that, Eden once again took his hand, and off they went, Vergil again, letting his little raccoon lead the way.

Walking hand in hand with her, Eden takes him to a place that only she must have known about, because where they were, there was no other person around -- it was just the two of them here, exactly what Vergil preferred, especially when she pointed out the view before them. Not only could they see countless number of different colored stars in the sky, but other aircrafts as well, or what she called 'starships'.

While enjoying the view with her, their hands still in another's, feeling the tender feeling of this moment starting to build, she asks him a question that he was sort of expecting her to ask, since they were looking at starships along with the stars in sky, twinkling, sparkling their individual colors, some stars even changing colors all together, this world, was truly fascinating. When he receives her question, there's a soft, short lived chuckle as he begins to answer. When it came to anything space-related, demons were on foreign land.

Although he had been to space once, when he aided the heroes in their fight against Galactus, the world devourer, Vergil had never really set foot in space again, until he met Eden, though he didn't mind -- Vergil would go anywhere with her, to the farthest regions to the galaxy, all the way to the ends of the earth, or the atmosphere of another world entirely. As long as his Eden was right there by his side, he would even run to the ends of the world with her if it was possible. She was his saving grace, the light that pulled him out of the darkness that he had so shamefully brought upon himself out of his own careless past actions. Eden, gave him the purpose he was looking for. So tonight, would be a very special night for the two of them, Eden just didn't know it yet.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Not really. With us devil's, while some of us harbor the ability to travel on an interdimensional level. We've don't really go to space."

As far as he knew, Vergil, along with Dante and Trish were probably the only devils who had ever been to space, although there was always the chance that his late father Sparda had traveled to space, there was a lot unknown about what happened to his father after he disappeared.

After she adds to the topic, he listens, nodding in between her words. Piloting a ship was clearly something he seemed to have a strong desire for, and he could understand to a degree. Anything having to do with flight, there was always this feeling of truly being free, soaring through the sky, or in her case, soaring through the stars in space, sounded like an entirely new level of thrill.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Well, considering that you've been in space far longer than I have, I'm sure you'd be able to pilot one just fine, darling."

A smile creeps onto his lips, matching the cute little grin she wore on her face as Eden slyly mentions one of their previous dates, the night where he took her into the air with his wings, holding her firmly into his arms. It earns her a charming smirk from him. How could he forget? -- it was a night he could never forget -- the smile on her face that night, could burn out the sun, it was so bright, and so very beautiful, just like her.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Yes. I'm sure it will be quite different, since you'll need a seatbelt, instead of my arms~" He slyly adds, a small cheeky grin on his devilish lips.

Shortly after their playful discussion, both of their attentions are capture by the loud chiming of the clock as it struck midnight signifying the start of the new year. Realizing what it meant, Vergil turned his head, but instead, found himself being pulled forward by Eden right to her lips and they locked in unison, short muffled chuckle at how abrupt she had been, but Vergil didn't mind. Holding the kiss, and savoring the moment as long as possible -- this was Vergil's first ever New Years kiss.

While he had kissed her many times, there was something more special about this kiss, not only had they just shared their first new years kiss, but there was one more moment left to come, that would be the cherry on top of the icing of this special moment. When the kiss finally broke, and their lips parted, Vergil learned his head forward, putting their foreheads gently together to touch as he prepared himself for a very important moment.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "I'll always be here to take care of my little raccoon.. but first.. there's something I've been meaning to tell you..."

Blue eyes staring deeply into her bright golden hues, Vergil's expression softens significantly, showing Eden a much more softer side to him -- a side of him he was waiting for the right moment to show her -- and that moment was now. Taking a deep breath, swallowing his slight nervousness, lips slowly part to speak, keeping eye contact with her the entire time, his thumb beginning to caress her cheek as he spoke. Because he was a little nervous, he told her in the only way he could that spoke in volumes more than words, a poem from the heart.

[{ 🗡️ }] - "Lost in the darkness, I stood alone. A shadow around me, no where to go. But when the darkness killed the light, A golden-eyed beauty burned my night, helping me find a reason to fight.

After his poetic confession, Vergil pulls her in for another kiss, the exact moment their lips lock in loving passion, his arms holding her tightly close to him, wrapped around her smaller frame The fireworks go off, lighting up the night as the two share their first passionate New Years Kiss.

January 1st, now becoming a very important part of their relationship, one that he would always make sure to remember, there was no way he'd ever forget such a special moment with the love of his life, the trailblazer, Eden. He couldn't wait to jump into the new year Their relationship now significantly stronger than ever.

Five women have accused a judge of bullying and sexist behaviour during employment tribunal hearings.

One woman told BBC News Judge Philip Lancaster had shouted at her at least 16 times, while another said she feared for any woman appearing before him.

The women, who encountered him in separate cases, said they wanted to highlight his "degrading behaviour".

Mr Lancaster has not responded to questions from the BBC.

All the women we have spoken to lost cases heard in Leeds in front of Judge Lancaster, although some of them have been fully or partially successful on appeal.

Employment tribunals are specialist courts that rule on disputes between employers and employees. There are about 30,000 hearings in England, Scotland and Wales each year, centring around issues such as unfair dismissal, discrimination or redundancy payments. Northern Ireland has a separate system.

Dr Hinaa Toheed, a GP, appeared before Judge Lancaster at an employment tribunal in February 2022, while bringing a case of maternity discrimination against her former business partner.

She says that on the first morning of her hearing the judge described her case as an "omnishambles".

Dr Toheed says as soon as she started giving evidence, the judge took over cross-examining her from the barrister representing her former partner, and tried to bully her into conceding points that supported the other side's case.

"If I didn't agree with anything that he said, he would shout at me," she says.

At the end of the first day, Dr Toheed's legal team became concerned that Judge Lancaster was behaving in an intimidating and aggressive manner towards her.

They noted down each time he shouted at Dr Toheed while she was giving evidence, counting 16 separate occasions over three days.

Dr Toheed says that her lawyers considered asking the judge to stand down from the case but concluded that such a move would almost certainly be unsuccessful and might well simply antagonise him further.

She lost her case but is appealing against the tribunal's findings.

Dr Toheed complained to the Courts and Tribunal Judiciary about Judge Lancaster, accusing him of "an inappropriately hostile attitude" towards her.

Her complaint was considered by a higher judge, Stuart Robertson, in 2022, but his conclusion is being kept "in abeyance" [on hold] until Dr Toheed's appeal is decided.

Judge Robertson justified his decision on the grounds that her complaint covered similar points to her appeal and he wished to "avoid possible embarrassment" to the employment tribunal process.

"It seems like the bigger concern is how this looks for the judiciary, than actually dealing with Judge Lancaster's conduct," says Dr Toheed.

Nine months earlier, a woman called Andra had appeared before Judge Lancaster to represent her partner, Ion Ionel, a joiner from Romania. He had brought a case of racial discrimination against the construction company he worked for.

Although she was not legally trained, Andra, who is also Romanian, said she had prepared extensively for the hearing.

She says Judge Lancaster appeared irritated from the start of the hearing and shouted at both her and her partner on multiple occasions.

"I don't think I've ever been treated like that in my life," she says.

"He literally interrupted me whenever I was asking any questions, saying it's either irrelevant, or I shouldn't ask this today, I should put it to another witness, not this witness. And then when we got to the other witness, he would say: 'Why didn't you ask the other witness yesterday?'"

Mr Ionel lost his case but successfully appealed against the ruling.

An appeal tribunal said that there had been "serious material procedural irregularities" during the hearing, including "a significant number of occasions when the judge intervened to prevent questioning of the respondent's witnesses".

A new hearing - in front of a different judge - has been scheduled for September. Meanwhile, Andra still wants action taken against Judge Lancaster: "What he put us through was horrible, really horrible."

Since November 2023, audio from employment tribunal cases has been routinely recorded in England and Wales.

But at the time these cases were brought (between 2018 and 2022), the judge's written notes of proceedings were treated as the official court record of employment tribunal hearings.

The lack of independent evidence, say the women, means it is difficult to have complaints against judges upheld.

Even now, there are strict guidelines on accessing the recordings - claimants must be accompanied by a court official on court premises.

However, one case heard by Judge Lancaster received publicity in the press. In 2021, Alison McDermott, an HR consultant, brought a high-profile case against Sellafield, the nuclear waste disposal and reprocessing company in Cumbria.

News reports referred to criticisms she made of Judge Lancaster. Ms McDermott says he yelled at her and made "sneering" comments about her earnings.

"I think it mattered hugely that I was a woman," she says. "For some reason, he had a real problem with the fact that I was a well-paid professional woman."

Ms McDermott lost her case, although an appeal judge found there had been errors in her tribunal and she won some minor concessions. A separate hearing is deciding if she is liable for costs.

Her story served as a rallying point for complaints against Judge Lancaster in particular, and the employment tribunal system in general.

BBC News has spoken to two other women who approached Ms McDermott after her case, who had also complained about the judge:

A nurse, who brought a case against an NHS trust in 2021 claims he showed "extreme bias" towards her employer's witnesses, and says he bullied her and "raised his voice angrily" - she lost the case but was partially successful on appeal

In 2018, a woman who lost a case brought before Judge Lancaster alleges that his behaviour was "erratic, illogical, aggressive" and "profoundly disturbing"

"On the one hand, it's affirming," says Ms McDermott. "On the other hand, it's really upsetting to hear that more women have been abused."

Judge Lancaster, who has been an employment tribunal judge since 2007, declined to comment when approached by the BBC.

In a statement, the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary said it could not provide comment in response to any conduct allegations.

It also said they could not provide a figure for the number of complaints that had been made against Judge Lancaster, as such information is confidential.

Hinata tensed himself as he ran towards the pink hair he spotted from afar. However the moment he rudely grabbed her shoulder and made the strange girl turn her head back to him, he realized it was someone else entirely.

Now he just felt awkward. Hinaa’s eyes widened and he looked to the side for a moment wondering if he could just escape this situation entirely. That was not very likely though, and the longer he went without saying things the worse the tension between them got.

He just needed to apologize and not in a rude way. He let go of her shoulder and tried to turn away showing only one red eye. “Sorry, I was looking for a different pink haired girl, you don’t matter.” No, bad Hinata. That was incredibly rude.

Question: Hi, I’d like to re-read the Q and A that Skillshot Labs did a while back, but since their Tumblr is down now, I haven’t been able to do so - when I find reblogs of the Q and A and click “read more” it doesn’t let me read the post. So I was wondering if you knew of a way I could find all the questions and answers? Thank you :)

Answer: Hey there, @ailurobiblio!! Kashi here. So, because SSL closed their Tumblr down, any readmores that existed within that blog will no longer be readable. Luckily, before they closed their doors, myself and a group of others managed to save a wide majority of promotional images and canon material, including the Question/Answer session.

All answers below are canon, as decreed by the creators themselves. Thank you, and this readmore should (hopefully!) work! And apologies to those on mobile - this will make it a bit of a scroll, and I wish there was a way to make it easier on you guys.

First QnA:

Why is Kouhai-chan the only girl in the school? And why are her bangs so long???

Bob: Her hair gives her power, the longer the more powerful. Jakey: LOL. Seriously though, I told Bob to give her long bangs since in most of the otome games I play, the representation of the girl’s face is usually quite obscured. I guess to help the player put themselves in the character’s shoes? To answer your first question. I don’t think I’ll ever get to explain it in the game itself so I’ll answer here. Kouhai-chan’s grandma used to run the cafe inside the campus. Now that she’s retired, she’s asked Kouhai-chan to takeover the cafe since Kouhai-chan has experience helping out at the cafe when she’s in town to visit. They figured that it wasn’t such a bad deal since the school is one of the most prestigious in the country and would probably give her an easier time applying for the college of her choice. Moving to grandma’s house would also allow her to take care of grandma in her old age. Even though Kouhai-chan is a girl, the exclusive all-boys school made an exception as a sign of gratitude for grandma’s years of service to the school. Plus Kouhai is someone who already knew the ropes so they didn’t have to train a new barista.

Why does Hajime rip off his sleeves?

Pepito: He tried to fit those “guns” but ended up ripping his sleeves. Not enough space for his ammo. Jakey: He could probably have stuff tailor-made =)) but sometimes I guess the material can’t handle his hyper-ness+muscles. Riiiiip.

For October, will there be a Halloween update? :3

What kind of school do they go to, exactly? Private academy or public school?

Jakey: Private Exclusive All-Boys Academy.

Is Hinaa-senpai actually a yandere? Or is that just a thing the fandom went with?

Jakey: I intended to parody/allude to yandere characters using Hinata’s character. He’s somewhat sort of borderline Yandere but never really does anything and really regrets it when he realizes what he was about to do. So to those of you asking whether we’ll have a Yandere Senpai, Hinata is already there to fulfill that role. There’s actually a more developed backstory regarding Hinata and Sousuke and why Hinata turned out to be that way. Again, I’m not certain if I’ll get the chance to explain in the game so I’ll tell you now I guess :)) This is going to be very lengthy so you guys can skip to another question if you don’t want to read it. starting here. Growing up, Hinata had always been the one to protect Sousuke and always took care of him. Being the older twin, he always thought it was his duty to look out for Sousuke. In their family, Hinata was always closer to their mother, taking up Tea Ceremony as she did. Sousuke took up archery because he wanted to be like their father. Being in a very traditional family, their parents had an arranged marriage. It wasn’t really forced upon them but they were at that age already so they just both agreed to it. Sad to say, they never really grew to love each other even though they already had children together. So one day, their mother found love and ran away. They very young when this happened, Hinata couldn’t really understand the situation. He couldn’t really process why his mother would leave him. He eventually broke down and has been trying his best to recover ever since. That’s why he’s very afraid of losing people who show him affection (like Kouhai-chan) and has possessive tendencies that he doesn’t realize he has. Not being as close to their mother thus being less affected, Sousuke saw how much his brother was hurt by their mother’s disappearance. Because he loves his brother, Sousuke took it upon himself to take care of Hinata and protect him. Just as Hinata looked out for him and protected him as they were growing up. He then grew up to be the more mature and responsible twin because of this.

Whoo. There. That was quite lengthy :)) but I hope that gives you a better understanding of why the twins are the way they are.

Katsuo-senpai is similar to Ian from “Siren’s Lament” (webtoon). Is it a coincidence?

Jakey: Sorry, it’s really just a coincidence. I hadn’t known of “Siren’s Lament” until some users pointed out that Katsuo looked a bit similar to that character. Will try to check it out though! My intention for making Katsuo was always that I wanted to have a Swim Team Senpai for our summer update. I wanted a character that looked good with Silver/Grey Hair and I guess Bob took that directive and she designed Katsuo from there. If anything, Katsuo was more of a reference to the characters from Free! (because I love Free! A lot of us do.). I tried to make somebody who could allude to those characters. Hence Katsuo, who has Sousuke’s body type but a bit of Rin’s personality (*cough* olympics *cough*). The mermaid’s tail was also added as one of his costumes because in Future Fish (Ending Sequence for Free! Season 2) Haru was a mermaid. There are a bunch of other Free! references through out the game that I see some of you actually caught :)) hehe.

To the character designer, which senpai was your favorite to design?

Bob: Probably delinquent or archery senpai. 1. Bread roll pompadour. 2. Archery’s pretty cool(the sport). Runner-up: Part Timer.

Hello Skillshot Labs! There’s something I’ve always wanted to ask you all… I’ve noticed many times that in some backgrounds there were kinda of “easter eggs” about Bangtan Boys… srly hahaha is it just a coincidence or you guys are Armys? Thx

Who is older between kyouya sensei and Haruka sensei? / Are haru sensei and kyouya sensei childhood friends? Or how did they meet? / Are kyouya and Haruka dating?

Jakey: We got a bunch of questions about Haruka and Kyouya and at least a couple of them got into our list of 30 questions. so I’ll just answer the related ones in one go :)) Kyouya and Haruka come from the same high school. Actually, they come from the academy which is the current setting of the game. Haruka was a year above Kyouya. But they never really got to talk to each other then. They knew of each other, Haruka being the librarian’s assistant and Kyouya being the most notorious delinquent during their time (Oh, the irony), but they never really got close. Basically their opinion of each other was just basically “Oh, it’s that dude again”. They only got close when they started working at the school. (Kyouya headaches> School infirmary visits> Friendly familiar face Etc.>Friendship!) So there. That’s how they know each other. And if they’re dating… Hmn. I guess if Kouhai-chan wasn’t there, there would be a possibility HAHA. Maybe in another timeline, in another universe. Who knows.

Jakey: It’s hard for me to pick because they’re all my kids and I gave them their personalities but I’d have to say my ultimate favorite out of all the lists forever and ever will always be Kyouya-sensei. Because he’s tsun but he’s really a softie inside :’) He’s strict because he actually deeply cares for his students. I always like the caring leader-type tsuns :’) (In saying that, I am also saying I like Student council pres) Another favorite would be Haruka-sensei because his character design is really pretty. He is a very “refreshing-type” character (one smile from him and suddenly all your troubles are gone. this is probably one of the reasons why he’s a good doctor) but I’d like to think he has a hidden, slightly mischievous side which makes him tease people sometimes, but I haven’t been able to show that in his CGs yet. Hmmnn I also like Takahiro because of the way his story turned out 8′)) I’m really proud of that hehe. I also like him because it’s fun to see him change into different work outfits and have different accessories. He’s super cute :’)

Hello! My question is about Hideki. I know that he is classified as crammer senpai, which (at least to me) implies that he crams all his work into one small period of time because he is doing other things all day. But a lot of his CGs also imply that he is a very hard worker who just has too many things to do. So is Hideki a procrastinator or does he just have too much work put out for him? And if he is a procrastinator, then what does he do when he’s not working? Thanks love you guys!

Jakey: Hideki always has a lot of work to do I think. It’s not so much so that he doesn’t study or do his work on time. Even if he does it early, he’ll still be rushing to beat the deadline because the workload is pretty heavy. And usually he has to balance it with his part-time job as teacher’s assistant. But don’t worry about him, he’s never missed a deadline and his grades are good. He can handle it.

At Suzuki-senpai birthday, Souh-senpai thanking him for being a loyal patron of his family’s properties and accommodations whenever Suzuki-senpai is on tour. Does Souh-senpai family own a hotel chain or any kind of lodging business? Is that another reason why he wanted to be a proper butler, aside from trying it out at the school festival?

Jakey: Souh-senpai is the heir to one of the largest hotel chains in Japan. He’s been trained to be a butler at a young age, just like his grandfather who was the founder of their hotel chain. It’s so that he can understand what it’s like to take care of people’s needs and be able to think of how to serve their hotel patrons better, to be able provide the best service to their patrons and make them feel at home in their hotels.

Does any of the other senpai get annoyed when swimmer senpai is lounging around splashing water everywhere?

Jakey: Only Ryuu because Ryuu is perpetually sassy :)) everyone’s pretty much used to it. Kyouya-sensei used to tell him off at the beginning but he’s given up trying to make him stop.

Hi! I want to ask why Haruka-sensei became a school infirmary doctor and didn’t go become a professional doctor or nurse? Thank you :)

Jakey: First off, let me clarify :)) Haruka-sensei is definitely a doctor. Not a nurse. A doctor. A lot of people assume otherwise even if it’s stated in his senpai profile.

Several reasons why Haruka-sensei is the school infirmary doctor:

In a school where students and their parents pay a lot of money to get the best education, facilities, and service, they made it a point to always have a doctor on call just in case something happens.

The pay is pretty good. :)) like, really good.

Haruka-sensei sort of wants to pay a debt of gratitude to the school that gave him a scholarship and helped him get into a good university.

He enjoys helping out the students, sometimes giving them advice when they have worries other than school.

He’s never bored at the school because there is always something interesting/amusing going on. Haruka’s the type to stick around just to see something amusing happen.

It was mentioned in his character profile that Reiji is known to have caused occasional fires in the school. Did he ever accidentally blow up the science lab?

Jakey: The question you should be asking is ‘How many times has he accidentally blown up the science lab?’ :))

Are any of the senpais inspired by existing anime character? Which anime did you draw inspiration from?

Jakey: Oh man, a lot of the characters are references to several anime tropes or references to certain anime characters.

I won’t reveal all of my references but because that would be one giant post all together. But I’ll list down a few.

Souma-senpai is definitely a reference to Shoukugeki :)) I love that show.

Childhood Friend senpai is largely borne out of my love for Tachibana Makoto. Bless his pure pure heart.

Touru-senpai’s name was a reference to Oikawa. My most favorite character from Haikyuu. That’s why a lot of his things have aliens on it. ( If you notice, I named a lot of my characters after people from Haikyuu and Free! :)) I just give them to characters that don’t have the same personality to throw people off HAHA )

I meant Suzuki-senpai to be more like Oikawa but instead he ended up being more like Tamaki from Ouran :))

Do the students live on campus?

Jakey: Not all of them do. Some of them live near or can be driven to school by their chauffeurs. Some of the senpai that do stay at the dorms are Makoto, Katsuo, Ren (largely because dorms=close place to nap), Kei. Suzuki and Yamato both have reserved rooms at the dorms but they just keep them mostly for the sake convenience (celebrity lifestyle and whatnot.)

How does Hinata and Sousuke get along with liking the same kouhai?

Jakey: These brothers would love kouhai-chan and each other enough to be considerate of kouhai-chan’s feelings. I know Hinata can be a bit possessive but if there’s one person he’d definitely be okay with dating Kouhai-chan, it would be Sousuke. Hinata wants Sousuke to be happy and vice versa. If you pick one of them, they’d still get to hang out with you and spend time with you because you’d be dating their twin. They both think their twin is one of the best people they know and they definitely think highly of each other. If Kouhai-chan thinks one of them is the best for her, then they probably would not object.

Third QnA:

Hello! I would like to ask if there is a possible backstory of childhood friend senpai and the main character of the game?

Jakey: Well, Takeru-senpai used to live in the house next to the Kouhai-chan’s. Before moving out to live with her grandmother, Kouhai-chan lived with her parents and her younger siblings. She and Takeru would often play together after school until Takeru had to move away in middle school. Takeru gave her the bear to watch over her in his stead.

Suzuki senpai! Who’s a better singer – you or yamato senpai?

Suzuki: Hello!~ Suzuki here making an appearance! (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و I don’t think you can really compare the both of us. My voice is more on the tenor side and my timbre I think is quite clearer and thinner than Yama-kun. His voice is definitely deeper than mine and a lot grittier, which is why he does so well in rock music! His voice is very powerful! So cool! >u Jakey: Thanks Suzu-chan. Ok, on to the next one!

OK, I HAVE A QUESTION. Since when Ninja senpai started, well, being like he is with all the ninja stuff.

Jakey: Kei comes from a long line of ninjas. So he started training to be a ninja since he was a young boy, along with his older brothers. He has two. He’s the youngest.

How did you guys come up with all the unique senpai traits (Calligraphy, School Festival, Drama Club, Teacher’s Assistant, etc.)? Was it a lot of going through different ideas and possibilities or making lists, or something else entirely?

Jakey: Well, when we were first coming up with the characters and the gameplay, I tried to think of varied stereotypes that I thought would appeal to our audience and that I, as an otome game fan, would enjoy. Hence the creation of the first 20 senpai. I actually made a long list of random senpai that never made it into the game. I picked off the ones that I thought would create a balanced, well-rounded cast. Some of 20 though aren’t really based on anything and they just came about because I thought it would be interesting and random. *cough*Baa*cough* I actually had to come up with an interesting story as to why a character would be like that or would go to this school, etc.

From then on in future updates, I usually use ideas that I keep at the back of my head. I think of which existing ideas would be appropriate for each update’s theme. We usually have at least 1-2 senpai that is identifies with the theme.

I sometimes have characters that I have been developing over a long time and I would hold off until the right moment to put them into the game. Let me tell you, Vampire Sensei has been waiting to be unleashed since January or February. He’s finally here! Congrats, Viktor. :)) Katsuo was also first conceptualized around that time as well but it was obvious that he should be put into the summer update. Although usually the minor details, like their name, etc. would be finalized during the time we’re preparing for the update itself. Sometimes the added characters are based off of what I think would best complement the existing character roster. (ex: I created Haruka for Kyouya, balancing a tsundere sensei with a refreshing sensei. That and the fact that the “school doctor” is a necessary stereotype. Also created Ryuu, to balance Tokiya. And Kurou, to balance Ryuu. Also to add more diversity to the Drama Club and make their story more interesting). I try to add characters that would really contribute something to the existing world of the game.

What is Lazy Senpai’s favorite place to nap?

Jakey: That would be the main character’s lap. But before the main character came along, Ren liked to nap on one of the couches in a hidden corner of the library because it’s toasty in the winter but cool in the summer because of the top-notch air-conditioning and heating systems.

How many albums have Rocker senpai and Idol Senpai put out?

Jakey: Well, Suzuki has more than Yamato. Ever since he debuted, he’s been putting out 1 or 2 per year. So I’d say, around 5? He debuted last year of middle school. He has a lot of producers and composers working with him to produce his pop tracks. So they put out albums regularly. Yamato has like 2 albums? Yamato really takes the time to think about what he’d like his albums to be about and makes sure that the feel of each song matches the lyrics. All his songs are written with his band. He has more freedom to do what he pleases with his music than Suzuki, although I’m not saying that Suzuki doesn’t write some of his own stuff as well. But for Suzuki being an idol really is the whole package of like performing, choreography, singing, and music production, being able to please his fans and interact with them is a huge part of what is important to Suzuki. So he’s not too concerned about having some of his stuff be curated for him.

Which Hogwarts House would each senpai be in?

Jakey: I have thought about this before :)) since I too, am a harry potter fan. This is where I think they’d end up if the they got sorted, so it’s not going to be evenly distributed across the houses. Let me list it down Gryffindor: Izumi, Hajime, Ren, Wakatoshi, Touru, Kyouya, Viktor, Yamato, Kei, Takeru Slytherin: Haruka, Hinata, Ryuu, Akira, Jéan, Hideki Ravenclaw: Reiji, Shun, Sousuke, Tokiya, Makoto, Soujirou, Itsuki, Souh Hufflepuff: Yuu, Touya, Souma, Ai, Kurou, Katsuo, Suzuki, Takahiro

Ren senpai, what type of music are you always listening to?

Ren: Hey…I just listen to whatever Yamato and Suzuki load into my phone… Sometimes Shun also gives me stuff but it’s usually electronic remixes and I can’t really fall asleep to that…

What’s the story with Reiji and his cat?

Jakey: It’s not his cat, it’s the cafe cat. He doesn’t have a cat of his own. But he likes cats, especially the extra fluffy ones. I don’t think he’s allowed to keep a cat at home with the amount of experiments and science projects he has going on. It would probably be dangerous for the cat.

What is Ryuu-senpai’s guilty pleasure? What does he enjoy that he doesn’t want anyone to know about?

Jakey: Hmmmnnn, now that I think about it :)) I think his guilty pleasure would be he actually really enjoys watching Tokiya act and he enjoys doing scenes with Tokiya. Tokiya is very good actor, you see. He’d probably die before he admits that he really enjoys their dynamic on stage :))
