It'd be neat to know more of how you see Hilda (I always like seeing how fanartists, fanfic writers, etc interpret the Pokemon mcs with them being silent protagonists) and her history with Cheren. Like if you see their feelings for each other being something that was already there or something that came about because of their journey (or maybe somewhere in between, like if they had them in the past and becoming rivals revived them or something). Anyway your art is really cute and as someone who likes checkmate and kuroshipping a good amount but hasn't really been thinking about them recently this wave of art of the former was a fun surprise

i have a few (2) iterations of hilda!!!!

1) touko (standard bw protag and the one depicted in all my bw art so far)

headstrong, hotheaded, outgoing, battle-hungry, etc. childhood friends like in canon (tho maybe not for 10 years, maybe like 6?? i envision her as being 14-16 and same w the other 3)

i think they’ve always been at each other’s throats as rivals but both harbor a strong mutual respect and almost protectiveness over the other. their fondness for each other comes out in that protectiveness. like ur MY rival!!!!! but nothing romantic rlly jumps out until late game (twist mountain?) and neither of them confess or anything until bw2. smile. heh… celeste celexcity slowburn and miscommunication liker

2) ludvina lotta (my sort of oc-ified version of hilda and my potential nuzlocke comic protag)

recently moved to nuvema town (maybe 1-2 yrs) and became friends w bianca and cheren. (she’s cousins w hilbert (my oc-ified ver is named blair warren) and he lives in nimbasa, training to be a soccer player and not a trainer) but not like besties they’re pretty distant, but still get along the best. shes mysterious and sort of weird/unusual. always has a placid smile on her face. easygoing as in nothing seems to faze her. cheren is sort of fascinated by her and maybe even scared (?) at some points which confuses him- but she just seems to know and think a lot more than she lets on.

in any case they never rlly get anything romantic At all. cheren has kind of a baby crush and ludvina knows but no one acts on it. i think she’s fond of him but doesn’t know what to do with that feeling so they just leave it at that and it ends up feeling weirdly empty
