so being drunk- first I feel like Cyno wouldn’t like to get too drunk. I could be convinced otherwise but I feel like he’d prefer to keep more sober at parties or bars cuz it’s easier to keep an eye on people and, most importantly, Tighnari. He will have one or two if it’s a formal event, and he may indulge more if it’s a smaller group and he knows everyone around but overall he’s happy to be Tighnaris DD most times. Tighnari on the other hand also wouldn’t go out of his way to over do it…buuuut it does happen sometimes 😅 and unfortunately since he’s a bit of a chaotic sicky I feel like he’s thrown up randomly one too many times due to having gone a little too hard. He is always suuuuper apologetic ofc. Oh, and post hangover migraines are his nightmare. I feel like he really wouldn’t try to get that drunk but idk I feel like he’s more of a lightweight than he wants to admit. And Cyno is weak to Drunk Tighnaris charms and whims so holding him back gets tricky. But everytime Nari swears he’ll never get that drunk again when he’s sick and nauseous the next day. And he’ll have a good streak for a while buuuuut it never really lasts.

Cyno tho, I feel like he really wouldn’t get hungover that easily. Like idk I just struggle it see it with him? If he does get tipsy he holds his booze really well and rarely has any problems. I do however think at one point he got really, really bad food poisoning from bar food. He had only had like one drink so he’s not sure why, by the time he gets home with nari (thankfully Tighnari isn’t super drunk but he’s pleasantly tipsy!) he feels so warm? And his stomach is upset? I feel like from there into the night it would just get worse, frequently having to use the bathroom keeps him up most of the night. And then the nausea hits…the following day he can’t keep anything down or in and nari tells him that yes hangovers can be bad but this- this is not from drinking one singular beer. alternatively you have this scenario but nari is really really drunk so he does start puking once they get home. And that’s when cyno starts feeling off too? He’s trying to take care of nari but keeps having to use the restroom. And by the time nari passes out that’s when Cynos nausea starts?? who knows!!

OH I'M IM LOVE WITH THIS! I actually really love it, because I often see Cyno portrayed as the one who'd get drunk and Tighnari as the one who'd stay sober. I honestly like your interpretation more! I can totally see our sweet baby Tighnari being such a lightweight, he always says he's not going to let himself get drunk, but he also always manages to underestimate just how hard the alcohol would hit him. ARGH I LOVE THAT SO MUCH!

We're moving! We're happening!!

So far Act 4 has been really fun; I've bamboozled the soldiers with Cyno and caught up with Tighnari. So much has happened! And I have many thoughts.

First of all, Cyno is such a cool guy. I know evil men are a big thing rn, so im very happy to see a hot man that's like, really strict about morals and justice (the cooler batman if you will). I'm so excited to do his story quest and get to know him! Speaking of Cyno though, I was really happy to see his relationship and interactions with Tighnari, I can't wait to think about them <3

Surprisingly, I did enjoy the mission with Dehya. She's slowly made her way up to my top list of favourite characters. To the point that I don't think I'd be that mad if I get her on the standard banner. Even if I don't end up playing with her much, at least I can have her in my house <3 But yeah, the story was fun, I got to see the evil doctor man again and I got to do the sneaking mission like 5 times cause I suck at those. ALSO I wonder if Tighnari realised that Dottore was the man that hurt Collei? Because if so I imagine that he was this👌 close to killing that man right on the spot.

NOW let me get to the big one of the day. Scaramouche. The Balladeer himself. Lord, I love these kinds of scenes. It was so menacing and intriguing and the voice acting was amazing as well. I'm glad we got an impression of dangerous and deranged Scara really is. Funnily enough, it reminds me of the presence of Raiden/Ei in the Inazuma arc. As in; powerful, God-level enemies that are too far gone to be reasoned with. Also I believe there was a shot of Scara walking down in the air during the conversation? So that's another similarity to dear old mom. I'm so so so excited to get more scara content, mostly because this was one of the first times we have met a character that gets weirdly personal with the Traveller? Like the fact that he calls us out for having a hero complex and throwing ourselves into other people's (world's) problems. I have... so many thoughts about them already.

I have just a few small things to point out before I finish. Firstly I'm surprised that the scene where Tighnari gets hit by lightning wasn't like, a proper cutscene? It could have so much more intense and emotional but... alright. I knew vaguely that he gets hit because of fanart I've seen but I never knew the exact context. Secondly, during the flashback with Tighnari and Dottore, at some point my brain short circuited because I finally processed what the hell that man is wearing. he also probably smells like pinecones and that's a personal headcanon that i'll NEVER let go of. i also can't wait to see more about his relationship with collei when sumeru comes out, because collei came to sumeru when cyno was returning (blah blah blah,, all that genshin manga crap),, and yet they haven't been said to have stayed close,, and that scares me so much istg

you’re right. his in-game model is just incredible— i’m not exaggerating when i say it’s better that i expected, and my expectations were already high asf, so that’s saying something. and his hair looks SO GOOD! 

as i mentioned before, i was worried that he might get diluc and albedo treatment but so far things look really good and i want to stroke it so much… 

(hmm… maybe i’ll write a fic about playing with cyno’s hair. that’s all it will be about.)

you know what… i don’t know where he’d have acquired that scent, but i can really see it for some reason. maybe he also smells a little of old books— just imagine wrapping yourself up in his cloak and letting the faint scent of pinecones and book pages envelop your senses…

regarding collei, by the way things are looking, and if sumeru’s storyline is split between the rainforest and desert areas, there’s a possibility we might not see them interact… but at the same time, maybe collei’s the one who helps the traveler find cyno or something? then again, cyno did send that letter about collei to tighnari, so it’s possible that he’s still concerned about her or sort of overlooking her training, i guess?

either way, i do really hope to see them interact during the archon quests because it would seem like a waste— from a storytelling perspective as well— to tease them getting to know each other in the manga and then never showing them around each other again.

if collei was like a little sister to him, i can imagine their dynamic being so chaotic— like, cyno’s just trying to do his job and collei’s sneaking around behind him and pulling pranks on him all day, and he’s so tired of it… and then he tells her the most cringe-worthy puns that threaten to make her gag as revenge.

and yeah, i can’t wait to explore sumeru and do all the quest-y stuff, too; there’s a lot of potential in the storyline for bringing up some good moral dilemmas and stuff with this whole wisdom thing (e.g. theories of the storyline are saying that kusanali is purposefully misguiding her people to keep them safe from celestia, in which case we have the dilemma of is it better to be in danger knowing the truth of things or to stay safe and happy in one’s ignorance?)

and also seeing cyno, of course.

I am also attempting to use context, as it has been a long day for them.” Zhongli is in his classic “majestic thinking gentleman” pose, and you’d admire it more if it weren’t for the fact that they don’t seem to be getting what you’re saying.

You hadn’t yet found someone with a higher friendship level than 2 or 3 (hey, don’t blame yourself, you really have to put effort into friendship levels to get them anywhere and you were still busy screwing around in Sumeru when you got spirited away).

So needless to say, most people were getting “the, me, I, you, etc.” rather than the actual important keywords you needed them to, hence the godly charade game now.

As you “hold” something, you throw your hands up in the air, still keeping your hands wrapped around nothing. You think if somebody told you last week that you’d be playing charades with the archons in Genshin Impact so you could actually communicate with them… well you don’t know what you would have done. Maybe just gave them a really awkward laugh.

“Oh! Are you asking for a weapon? Akitsu Mikami, my emperor, we or our nations will surely provide protection from any harm that might befall you. Hm, I suppose we should offer something anyway… I wouldn’t want to displease them…” Ei mutters to herself, having taken over her puppet once more for the occasion.

She and Buer, still retaining their authority status, had asked for the area to be cleared in order to try and get closer to communicating with the Divine First, or you.

“Ha! What idiot would try to hurt the All-Parent in their home, unless they wish to get thrown?” Venti cheekily says, as you don’t understand him, but judging by Zhongli’s clenched jaw, Ei’s sigh, and Nahida’s giggle, you can guess.

You give your own sad sigh… it’s already been 3 hours. 😭

How hard is charades for 4 archons??

Well… apparently very hard.

You put your face in your hands, and you hear the (retired) archons start to debate something, you can tell it’s getting a little passive-aggressive between Venti and Zhongli by their tone alone. 

…Okay, now it’s just aggressive.

The archons eventually give their attention back to you so you can go back to your charades lol

You tried opening your mouth and closing it, very obvious, they can’t go wrong. 

…Turns out they can. 

Somehow you find yourself with a hot tea brewed by the geo archon. 

(Venti attempted to offer you Dandelion Wine, or Osmanthus Wine even, and only god, well you now, knows where he pulled them from. Ei swatted his head, he looked so offended, and his cheeks were all puffed up, heh.)

Giving up, you just try to motion for them to stay still, your hands gesturing like trying to calm a wild animal.

They give you questioning looks, and you begin to walk off, they all seem to immediately start discussing something with each other. All of the gods look very conflicted, and after a minute of you getting further away (yes, you’re almost home free, Xiangling here you come! ) Nahida skips to catch up with you.

She gives you a beaming smile, and you can’t bring yourself to not return it. She's so much cuter in real life, even the official art didn't do her justice.

You make your way towards the restaurant, finally.

And apparently you’re happier than you thought to smell the savory scents flowing out of the kitchen because your stomach growls loudly.

You’re too hungry to even attempt to stop it, no one will care, except Nahida’s eyes go wide. She begins to sputter, and flail her hands desperately trying to charade an apology at you.

…you were just trying to tell them you were hungry. 💀

mono geo supremacy, mostly bc crystallize is :/ and the best way to have elemental synergy when ur using geo is just… to avoid other elements lmAO i mean obviously other elements are good but they don’t have access to reactions w geo so :/

I am excited for the 3.1 characters !! (Cyno wod be first choice, I really want him and have wanted him since seeing him because his design reminds me of the Egyptian god Anubis (I am an Egyptology nerd so) , Nilou would also be a nice addition considering she looks;;; almost identical to me, just make her eyes greener and that’s literally me it’s insane - and the new 4 star candace!! She looks so cool) but tighnari is cute, I love his ears but his outfit is a mess - collei is also cute, but to me she just looks like green haired lumine, I’m kinda disappointed in her design just bc it looks too much like lumine - doesn’t mean she’s not a cutie though <3

Al Haitham’s design is quite nice but im not a fan of the tall male models when I play so I won’t be pulling for him, but I may write for him in the future when I know more)

Speaking of writing, Cyno will probably be added to my list once I know more, possibly Tighnari too but if he’s too similar to Albedo I’ll most likely not add him (since it’ll be very same-y)
