21 year old Marvin (left) is presenting his 19 year old disciple Damian (right) to other members of their fitness sect. Marvin is on his way to full membership. Members are fully brainwashed into building their entire life around gym and working out. The membership is organised in four stages: disciple stage, comitted mentors stage, full membership and presidency.
Disciples are new applicants. With their application they move into so-called congregation houses. A mentor is taking over to restructure the applicant's life. Marvin is Damian's mentor. From day one applicants are watching and listening to brainwashing hypnosis. Contacts to family and friends are under scrutiny and reduced if necessary. All sect members are wearing identical clothes. A mentor is monitoring a disciple's training routine, his nutrition and enforcing the hypnosis. Within the congregation houses the disciples are living in small cells. Applicants have to be without tattoos. Tattoos are forbidden within the first two stages of membership.
Comitted mentors are sect members who are passed the first stage. They're already brainwashed. For them the sect is the family. Marvin entered the sect a few days after his 18th birthday. On his 19th birthday he became a comitted mentor. The ceremony is consisting of giving up his old life formally, ceding all possessions to their church. After the signature a comitted mentor is branded with a stylized dumbbell on the back of the neck. At the end of the procedure they get a vasectomy as church members aren't allowed to start a family. From that point on sex is allowed with other sect members only. They have to lead at least five disciples from application to comittment before being eligible for full membership. They sleep in three men dorm rooms in the congregation houses.
Full members are getting some freedoms back. They can leave the congregation house as they want. Their life is fully developed. They made progressing within their training routine the center of their lives and are fully brainwashed. They have a job that allows them to focus on gym but to earn money for the church at the same time. The result is that their schedules are consisting of working and working out. Within that stage the members get their entire bodies covered in the same tattoos like the church's founder and prophet. They're allowed to build up 'own' companies (in truth the church is owning their companies). They're electing some members of the presidency.
Members of the Presidency are the officials of the church. Each congregation house has two leaders. An administrative leader is elected every second year at every congregation house. Spiritual leaders are full members selected by the prophet. While the administrative leader is taking care of all house related matters the spiritual leader is presiding over the hypnosis and brainwashing routines. Ten congregation houses are forming a ward. The ten administrative leaders are electing an administrative ward leader and the prophet is selecting one of the spirital house leaders as spiritual ward leaders. These ward leaders are delegating disciples and mentors from one house to another if necessary. They're calculating the budgets of the houses within their ward. All house leaders - administrative and spiritual - are forming the General Assembly that elects the President, the Vice-President and the General Secretary of the church on the same day as the US is electing their president. They will be sworn in by the prophet on Jan 20 after their election.
The Prophet is a 47 year old bodybuilder who says that Christ appeared to him and dictated him the 'true' testament of Christ. The prophet struggled in life as he was younger. He married at 20 but was forced into a cuck relationship by his wife and his twin brother. They forced a vasectomy on him and marked his body with tattoos. He fled into bodybuilding to cope with the situation. He was 28 as he cycled home after gym and got his first vision of Christ. In that exact moment Christ promised him to set him free the later prophet's wife and brother had an accident.
Discipline and obedience are the strong pillars of this church. Misbehaviour will be punished with shame punishments like walking naked with a chastity device only within the congregation house or wearing sweaty clothes of other church members. For some more problematic cases of misbehaviour or clear disobedience against members of the presidency corporal punishment is administred. In some very grave cases members can be sent into the hole. Each congregation house has two holes in the basement. These holes are technically on floor -2. They can be entered via the ceiling only and members sentenced to the hole are lowered down into the hole and then the ceiling is closed with a heavy metal cover. The hole is pitchblack. Food and water are provided via a shaft in the wall. Marvin was sentenced to the hole for one week after giving his spiritual house leader a headbutt as they discussed Marvin's potential within the church. Hole sentences are always signed by the prophet.

Pokemon Violet and Open-World Design Hell
I’ve got Quibbles with Scarlet/Violet -- the performance, the clunky intro that takes a thousand years and would be tedious even for the 8-year-olds it’s aimed for, the lack of scaling at gyms (which is something even I know how to code, unless you’re building on top of some kind of spaghetti code monster with all sorts of hidden variables and restrictions, which is actually more than likely) -- but I’m not going to voice anything in depth, because there’s only one thing I want to say about those games.
So far they’re fun, and that is a miracle, and the developers who worked on it should probably be praised for what they were able to accomplish, because a three-year dev cycle is not enough time to put together an open-world RPG for a global audience.
There are a million things about this process for an IP like Pokemon that take up extra time in that very small dev window, too. The localization. The rigorous art and design iterations that have to go all the way up high ladders to get approved because so much money is tied up in this franchise, and because the merchandising is so tied to it. The testing and iterations for any new mechanics that the players will expect from a new installment, and the balancing of previous mechanics within the new system. The QA!!! OH GOD THE QA!!!!!!!!
Now add the challenges of open-world design to that. Non-linear plotting. Balancing freedom of motion with a sense of direction and purpose for the player so they don’t feel lost. Balancing levels and pokemon types in a game where your level is always changing, which is now impacted by where you go and what you do and whether you stop to catch everything or plow through to gyms or fight every wild pokemon you come across or run away (ETCETERA! ETCETERA! ETCETERA!), in a way that’s fun for adult players but not challenging for small children. Placing new sights, activities, and rewards in ways that encourage exploration while having to avoid the repetition of these placements so players don’t get bored or predict what’s next--unless you’d like them to predict what’s next, to build a sense of anticipation! Open-world design is fun as hell to tinker in; it’s also an absolute monster.
I’m not aware of the conditions at Game Freak, but I’m having a hard time imagining any of this was accomplished without a significant amount of overtime and stress. There are no lazy developers. Every single person working on a Pokemon game right now--I mean the ones on the floor, the artists and coders and designers and QA and all the rest--they’re there because they fucking love video games, they fucking love Pokemon, and they beat out hundreds if not thousands of other qualified applicants for their personal position. When you see a game that arrives as some kind of disaster, it’s because some kind of disaster was happening behind the scenes.
It’s OK to criticize the Pokemon games. They’re not nearly as polished as their price point warrants, which is frankly insulting to players from a company that regularly makes record-breaking amounts of money on its IP. The bugs have created frustrating jams for people, even forcing unsaved restarts (though the game does autosave a lot, thankfully). It could be a lot better, and it’s easy to see exactly how, and that’s very frustrating. But the game is still fun, and it’s trying a new format in a way that I believe is ultimately a success, and considering the restrictions imposed upon the devs, I personally think that was an impressive feat. I’ll be continuing to play during my next little snatch of free time.

name: felix bowery age: twenty-four occupation: creator, founder & CEO of BlueStar position: bottom // switch (slight dominant / bossy lean, but doesn't mind "playing submissive") top kinks: pain play, choking, bondage, rimming, cum facials, power play, daddy kink face claim: brandon flynn
BIOGRAPHY
Being different was never easy, especially growing up that way, and Felix knew he was different in multiple ways, for however long he could even remember. Whenever the other kids would invite him to play house, he wasn't interested unless he could be married to the Dad. During Spin the Bottle, he'd get excited when it would land on the cute boy from down the street, and ignore the confused and freaked out looks when he french kissed him. After gym class, he wasn't able to hide how he checked out the other guys, and getting to suck several of them off later was absolutely worth being punched and called a fag by them the next day. Overall though, being gay wasn't what made Felix truly feel different. What separated him from others more than anything was the way he'd get straight As with no effort. How he'd easily debate his teachers and be miles ahead of all his fellow students. How he sent in one of the first programs he'D coded under a false name and was promised a full scholarship at one of the country's top tech universities - at age fourteen.
Being gifted with a way-above-average IQ and a talent for programming that he'd honed from the day he first got hands on a computer, Felix struggled to find people to bond with for most of his adolescence. He couldn't find much common ground with kids his age, most of whom were intellectually not nearly as developed as himself - yet it also seemed difficult to be respected by those older than him, especially within the field he was most interested in. The tech scene had seen plenty of teenage wannabes, nerds and amateur hackers claiming to be the next big thing on the horizon, and nobody was all too impressed with Felix's plans at first. He was ambitious, even a bit cocky at times as he never seemed to agree with any of the many voices who doubted he could do what he set out to do. Realistically, he possibly should not have been so sure he was going to be successful; Felix knew, however, that his skills were outstanding, and the quality of his code unmatched by anything out there that could've rivaled the app he was planning to launch.
The summer after his high school graduation, Felix began launching BlueStar - at first, an app targeted at gay men who could easily trade and rate each other's pictures. A simple idea on paper, though the quality of the application and its features soon skyrocketed the app to one of the most successful in its field. The chat functionalities, the AI that made for matching algorithms with a near-zero failure rate, and a frequent addition of more experimental (and increasingly adult-rated) features helped the app's popularity and market value explode, all while most people were quite unaware of the creator's identity at this point. Despite his start-up's market share starkly increasing, Felix found that most in the scene still struggled to take him seriously once he revealed himself as the face behind BlueStar; not only were people expecting an entire company to be behind an app of this quality, but a barely-legal teenage kid developing what soon was one of the lead gay social apps felt unreal to many.
Over time, Felix indeed turned his one-man operation into a full-on business, hiring a team of marketing experts, financial advisors, graphic designers - even other developers, though he was highly critical of their work from day one. After a while, even his most skeptical competitors had to admit the young startup was a legit force in the market, and despite his young age, Felix Bowery was starting to be recognized as the tech prodigy he'd proven himself to be. Still, there would always be gossip, he realized; some even had a kernel of truth to it. His most bitter rivals would claim that Felix's way to success had been enabled by wealthy men who acted as benefactors - sugar daddies, in essence. It wasn't a rumor he ever felt a need to address or deny - and in fact, there had been several investors who he'd engaged in sexual relations with in exchange for their money. He saw no issue in using his assets to his advantage; why limit that approach to just his intelligence, when he had youth and beauty on his side? Felix knew that 'sex sells' was not just a phrase, and the app embraced that more and more as well, adding features to explicitly trade and rate other users' nudes, or offer escort services via the application.
It was a duplicity that some might not have expected from him, but two sides of his personality that Felix both embraced. Yes, he was highly intelligent, his mind very structured and analytical - in some ways, he probably was a bit of a nerd. But that didn't mean he wasn't intrigued by sex. Getting kinky and letting go of all inhibition was his favorite pastime, and he'd always been an avid user of his own app. However, his curiosity was peaked one day despite having seen and witnessed quite a bit already. Unexpectedly, he received an invitation to visit the Haus of Perses - an island paradise that felt somewhat like his own app had broken out of the digital space and manifested in the analog world. A place full of hot men, full of sin and indulgence. Clearly he wasn't going to miss out on that.

Adapting to Change: Understanding Today’s Real Estate Trends and What Lies Ahead
The real estate market has undergone significant shifts in recent years, driven by economic uncertainties, evolving buyer behaviors, and technological changes. With these factors continuing to shape the landscape, stakeholders need to stay informed about current trends and the future. Understanding the key drivers can help buyers and sellers make better decisions as the market adapts to these changes.
The Rise of Suburban and Rural Living
One of the most noticeable shifts in the real estate market is the growing demand for homes in suburban and rural areas. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the trend of people moving away from densely populated cities in search of more space, affordability, and a better quality of life. With the widespread adoption of remote work, many buyers no longer feel tethered to urban centers, allowing them to explore properties in smaller towns or rural regions.
In addition to space, buyers are looking for homes with outdoor areas and multi-functional rooms that can serve as home offices or gyms. As more companies embrace flexible work arrangements, this trend is likely to persist, making suburban and rural properties more attractive to potential buyers. In response, developers focus on creating new housing projects in these areas to meet the growing demand.
Mortgage Rates and Affordability Challenges
Mortgage rates have long been a crucial factor in the real estate market, and recent fluctuations have made affordability a top concern for many buyers. Low interest rates over the past few years have fueled a housing boom, making it easier for buyers to secure favorable financing. However, with recent increases in interest rates, many potential buyers need help affording homes.
As rates continue to rise, affordability challenges will likely persist, particularly for first-time buyers. For many, higher rates mean smaller budgets or delaying the purchase of a home altogether. Sellers may also need to adjust their expectations as buyers become more cautious and selective. Monitoring interest rate trends will be critical for those looking to enter the market or refinance existing mortgages.
Inventory Shortages and Rising Prices
Another major issue affecting the real estate market is the need for more available homes. Low inventory levels have increased buyer competition, resulting in rising prices in many markets. Several factors, including supply chain disruptions, labor shortages in the construction industry, and strong buyer demand, have driven the shortage of homes.
Although new construction is picking up in some areas, it has not significantly alleviated the shortage. Many prospective buyers struggle to find homes within their price range, and the intense competition often leads to bidding wars. This environment presents an opportunity for sellers to maximize their profits, but it also poses challenges for buyers trying to navigate an increasingly competitive market.
The Digital Transformation of Real Estate
The real estate industry has embraced digital technology at an unprecedented pace. From virtual home tours to online mortgage applications, technology has made the buying and selling process more efficient and accessible. For buyers, virtual tours allow them to explore properties without physically visiting them, while online platforms streamline communication with real estate agents and lenders.
The use of big data and artificial intelligence is also transforming real estate transactions. Predictive analytics are helping agents better understand market trends and price homes more accurately. Meanwhile, blockchain technology is being explored to provide greater transaction transparency and security. As these technologies continue to develop, they are expected to play an even larger role in shaping the future of real estate.
Looking to the Future: What to Expect
As we look ahead, the real estate market is expected to remain in flux, influenced by economic conditions and technological advancements. A recession or prolonged inflation could dampen demand, while continued supply chain challenges may further limit the availability of homes. These factors are likely to result in slower price growth and more moderate market activity compared to the rapid acceleration seen in previous years.
However, some experts believe the market will stabilize, with prices leveling off rather than dropping sharply. This could lead to a more balanced environment for buyers and sellers, creating opportunities for those waiting on the sidelines. Additionally, as technology evolves, we can expect more innovation in how homes are bought, sold, and financed, offering new solutions for consumers and real estate professionals.
Today’s real estate market is characterized by rapid change and uncertainty, but it also presents opportunities for those who stay informed and adaptable. By understanding the key trends—such as the shift to suburban living, the impact of mortgage rates, and the rise of digital technology—buyers and sellers can navigate the complexities of the market with greater confidence and make well-informed decisions for the future.

The Des Moines Daily, July 1st, 2022. Lifestyle Section
After the closure of the Iowa State Penitentiary (due to lack of funding and inmates after the ruling of Werner v. The United States), the buildings were empty for some years until the development company, Wright and Sons, saw an opportunity to transform the space into something useful. Communal, small scale living they called it, rebirthing it and giving it the name "Violet Meadows." Wright and Sons transformed each cell into much more welcoming and private "single rooms" which still feature the original metal sink and toilet, but now with windows that have the ability to open and enough room to fit either a twin or full sized bed and a dresser. The communal showers now feature individual floor to ceiling stalls that lock for full privacy and the mess hall has been converted into a stylish communal kitchen where residents can cook and dine together as they wish.
Many of the residents fit the demographic Wright and Sons were looking to house -- single, working class people who were looking for a good deal when paying for rent or trying to save up for a home of their own. But not everyone is happy with the current community.
Former inmate of the Iowa State Pen, Emmett Johnston, years later has found himself not only living back in the same building now as a free man, but ironically enough next to the exact same cell that he spent five years in. When asked about his experience living there now, he commented on the almost perfect fate of his situation but also said, "I kind of miss it when it was a prison. You wouldn't think it but most people were much nicer than the ones now. I tried to start a conversation with my next door neighbor, the one who's been living in my former cell, to try and be friendly and whatnot, but he just shrugged me off! At least there was a little bit of camaraderie back then. Now its just a bunch of lonely people living lonely lives." When asked if he had made any friends living in his new home, he told us, "Old Doc Mercer and I spot each other every Tuesday in the yard -- I mean, state of the art 24 hour outdoor gym. He used to be locked up here as well, but we just missed each other by a week. He got out right before I got in."
The new paint job is considered charming and the updated recreational areas and kitchens make the place seem much more like a dormitory than a former prison. While walking through the halls, one can get a sense of what this place once was, but renewed. Like the many inmates that it rehabilitated in its past life, it too became a better, contributing member of society.
While making the tour, we actually ran into our graphics editor who had recently moved in after her recent divorce. No one at the paper had known she was living here. We asked to interview her about her experience at Violet Meadows, but she declined. Fortunately, she did let us publish the context of her living situation and this quote, "This prison is nothing compared to the one at my ex wife's house."
Wright and Sons wanted to let readers know that they are still accepting new applicants every day. So if you too are a recent divorcee looking to escape a bad situation, a former inmate, the frugal type, or someone who truly wants to try communal living, feel free to visit the Violet Meadows website.

IV. Gaining Early Traction with an MVP
In the competitive B2B SaaS (Business-to-Business Software-as-a-Service) landscape, attracting early customers is crucial for validating your product and securing a foothold in the market. But how do you convince potential customers to try a brand new software solution? This is where the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) emerges as a powerful tool for gaining early traction.
An MVP is a stripped-down version of your software that focuses on the core functionalities that solve your target audience's most pressing problems. By prioritizing these features and launching quickly, you can get your product in front of potential customers early and efficiently.
But how exactly does an MVP help attract early customers for B2B SaaS startups? Let's delve deeper:
1. Targeting the Bullseye: Understanding Your Audience
The foundation of any successful customer acquisition strategy lies in deeply understanding your target market. Who are your ideal customers? What are their specific pain points and challenges? By focusing your MVP on features that directly address these pain points, you create a solution that resonates with your target audience. This targeted approach makes them more likely to be interested in trying your product and providing valuable feedback.
2. Lowering the Barrier to Entry: Simplicity is Key
Traditional software launches often involve lengthy sales cycles and complex onboarding processes. An MVP, on the other hand, offers a simpler and more accessible way for potential customers to test the waters. By focusing on core functionalities, your MVP has a lower barrier to entry, making it easier for potential customers to see the value proposition and get started quickly. This can be particularly important for busy B2B professionals with limited time to invest in learning new tools.
3. The Power of Early Feedback and Community Building
Launching an MVP allows you to gather invaluable feedback from early adopters. This feedback can be instrumental in identifying features that resonate with users and uncovering areas for improvement. By actively engaging with early customers and incorporating their suggestions, you can demonstrate a commitment to user-centric product development. This builds trust and fosters a sense of community around your product, attracting further interest and potential customers.
By focusing on solving a specific problem for a well-defined target audience, B2B SaaS development can leverage the power of the MVP to gain early traction, gather valuable feedback, and build a strong foundation for long-term success. In the next section, we'll explore how an MVP can be a game-changer for attracting investors and securing the funding needed to grow your B2B SaaS startup.
V. Attracting Investors with an MVP
The world of B2B SaaS startups is a battlefield for funding. Investors are constantly bombarded with pitches, so how do you make yours stand out? The secret weapon you might be overlooking? It's the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
An MVP is a stripped-down version of your software that prioritizes the core functionalities solving your target audience's most critical problems. While it may seem counterintuitive to approach investors with a "lesser" product, a well-designed MVP can be a powerful tool for attracting investment. Here's why:
Investors aren't just backing ideas; they're backing potential. An MVP allows you to showcase the feasibility and potential of your B2B SaaS solution beyond just a captivating pitch deck. Here's how:
Market Validation: An MVP with real user engagement demonstrates that you've identified a genuine market need and that your solution resonates with your target audience. This validation carries significant weight with investors who are looking for evidence that your product has a fighting chance in the market.
Product-Market Fit: Beyond market validation, an MVP allows you to showcase product development-market fit. By gathering user feedback and iterating based on real-world data, you can demonstrate your ability to adapt your product to meet the specific needs of your target customers. This agility and focus on user experience are highly attractive to investors.
Building Confidence with User Traction and Feedback
Investors are risk-averse. An MVP, with its focus on early user engagement, helps mitigate risk by providing concrete data points. Here's how:
User Traction: A well-received MVP that attracts early adopters demonstrates that there's genuine interest in your product. This user traction signals to investors that your solution has the potential to gain a foothold in the market.
User Feedback: The feedback loop created by an MVP release is invaluable. By showcasing your ability to gather and incorporate user feedback into product iterations, you demonstrate a commitment to user-centric development. This focus on continuous improvement builds confidence with investors.
The MVP: A Springboard for Investment Success
An MVP shouldn't be viewed as a product launch; it's the first step on a data-driven software development journey. By providing evidence of market validation, product-market fit, and user traction, an MVP can be a game-changer for attracting investors in the B2B SaaS space.
In the final section of this series, we'll explore how an MVP can be used to refine your B2B SaaS product for long-term success.
VI. Refining Your Product Based on User Feedback
In the competitive world of SaaS startups, building the "right" product is crucial for success. But how do you ensure your software truly addresses the needs of your target audience? The answer lies in the power of user feedback, and the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) provides the perfect platform to gather it.
Why User Feedback Matters: The Voice of Your Customer
Imagine pouring time and resources into developing a product that nobody wants. User feedback helps you avoid this pitfall. It's the voice of your customer, providing invaluable insights into their:
Pain Points: What are the specific challenges your target audience faces? User feedback helps you understand the problems your product is designed to solve in more depth.
Needs and Preferences: What features do users value most? How do they envision using your product in their workflow? User feedback sheds light on these critical aspects, allowing you to tailor your product for optimal user experience.
Bugs and Usability Issues: Are there any technical glitches or design elements hindering user experience? Early user feedback helps identify these issues before they derail adoption.
By embracing an MVP-driven approach and actively utilizing user feedback, B2B SaaS startups can continuously refine their product offerings, ensuring a perfect product-market fit and long-term success. Remember, your users are your most valuable asset – listen to their feedback, and your B2B SaaS product will evolve to become an indispensable tool for their success!

Explore the Newest Facts and Trends in Fitness App Development
In today’s hectic world, where finding a minute’s time for oneself is getting harder, it is no surprise that the health and fitness industry is witnessing a major transformation. The latest advancements in fitness mobile app development has attracted people towards working out remotely. These trends are reshaping the entire fitness regimen–imagine a fitness space where your daily/weekly meal plans, personal trainer and everything is seamlessly integrated into a custom fitness app development software, also guided by AI, and even offering a virtual reality experience!
The growing demand for internet and mobile devices has further ignited the competition within the industry. And COVID-19 restrictions have also given a huge shout out to the remote fitness and developing technologies. According to a research by Allied Market and their forecast, the global fitness app market is expected to reach US $120.37 bn by 2030, along with a tremendous annual growth rate of 24.3%.
As the fitness landscape continues to evolve with emerging technologies, more individuals are expected to switch to fitness apps to accomplish their fitness goals. Let’s see what all latest trends can convert your home into a fitness gym, just by a single click!
Gamification- According to a report given by WHO, over 28% of adults lack physical activities. And this may lead to an increase in the number of cardiovascular diseases. To tackle this concern, making fitness an enjoyable experience is crucial. The gamification is the latest addition to the fitness application development where a few fun elements like points, leaderboards, achievements are added in the fitness apps to engage users and motivate them in their fitness journey. This trend not only creates a sense of competition within the fitness community but also turns the user's experiences into an enjoyable one.
Workplace wellness- Many multinational companies are now getting aware of the health and well-being of their employees. Apart from organizing marathons, fun workouts between work, and offering healthy meals, organizations these days are actively promoting healthier lifestyles and wellness programmes through fitness apps. Latest trends in fitness app developments give employees the access to various programmes including nutrition counseling, fitness challenges and health tips.
Integration with wearable technology- The introduction of wearable technology has brought a transformation in the fitness industry by providing real-time insights into our fitness routines (walking, running, heart rate or sleep patterns). Now when the fitness apps are integrated with these wearables, it offers people an interactive experience to track their fitness in real time. It is predicted that the wearable health devices market will reach US $265.4bn by 2026. (Source)
Cloud based apps- Fitness application development technologies significantly relies on cloud-based systems, which provides a centralized hub for gym trainers to oversee their operations effortlessly. These cloud based apps monitor a client’s progress, and offer a comprehensive solution to the gym owners and professionals.
Virtual and Augmented Reality- Modern apps these days are stepping up the fitness game by integrating virtual and augmented reality trends. These features not only makes workout enjoyable but also handles the time restrictions that people face in their hectic lives. AR, along with VR offers a comprehensive gym solution where the users don’t feel the need to go to a gym or keep looking around for workout videos.
AI trainers- As the COVID forced everything to close down, necessary things like education, health and fitness moved to video calls and conferences. AI fitness trainers came alive and brought a revolutionary approach to customized experiences. AI personal trainers run on advanced algorithms at the backend where they use machine learning to analyze user data, like fitness history, body type, body weight, body mass and real-time insights. They can even generate a customized workout plan, suggesting how often any user should work out and how much weight he should lift in order to achieve a certain target.
Integration of Telemedicine- The continuously growing demand for telemedicine apps indicates that it isn’t just another fad in the market, it’s a reflection of a shift in people’s approach towards fitness today. Telemedicine applications allow users to remotely connect with healthcare professionals around the world, through video calling, messages or any other platform. Now these telemedicine apps are seamlessly integrated with fitness apps to offer healthcare and identifying potential health hazards, or underlying medical conditions, prompting timely attention by an expert.
Sleep monitoring- When it comes to developing holistic health, sleep also plays a big role. Lack of sound sleep can lead to the risk of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. Ignoring sleep quality while enrolling in a fitness program will not yield desired results. So people have started prioritizing and investing in sleep monitoring apps which can keep a track of a user's sleep schedule, create a relaxing ambience, give tips on how to get better sleep, and also motivate you to create a bedtime routine. Keeping this trend in mind, integrating sleep monitors in your fitness app will give you a competitive edge over others.
Final thoughts
Modern technology seems to have no limits. It has become a helping hand for humans in every possible field. For gym professionals and trainers, including health and fitness applications in their programs is crucial to stay ahead of the competition. As this industry continues to evolve, the fusion of latest technological advancements and fitness is all set to transform standards and take the wellness experience to next levels. As a fitness app development company, if you are adopting the trends and integrating them into your fitness apps, you will surely be able to position yourself as an innovator in this industry.

The Empty Promises of New Tech
One of the most interesting new stories I had encountered this year came in the form of an LMG clip about a Canadian vending machine that was using face recognition software. It sounded so absurd, I had to do a little more digging and sure enough I found a CBC article with further details. As a story, it captured a sentiment I've had ever since the pandemic. A sinking feeling that technology no longer improves people's lives in a meaningful way and, if anything, serves to give cover to a system that is less and less capable of addressing the collective welfare of the people.
In 2013, I remember going to a conference in the tiny town of Richwood, West Virginia. The organizers of the event wanted to showcase all the emerging technologies of the future, which would no doubt be the economic underpinning of tomorrow. There was a working 3D printer in one of the rooms and a virtual headset as well. The keynote speaker at the event was a futurist, who discussed what life would be like 10-15 years later and I remember hearing a discussion from a professor at one of the state universities talking about the "Internet of Things". Even social media at the time still felt like a promising engagement tool to reach new people. Fast forward to 2024 and the depressed coal town, feels much more present to me now than the bright shining future that was envisioned in the 2010s.
It would be safe to say that none of these technologies really panned out. The internet of things seems more like a technological nightmare than an exciting development. Who wants their smart toaster to be effectively bricked due to faulty firmware or a cyber attack? Virtual reality is fun, but its still a tiny niche of the gaming market and the less said about social media the better. 3D printers have promise, but I'm still not aware of any applications for the mass consumer market outside of being able to make a few customized figurines. I had enough hope in 3D printing that I even bought some stock in a company with significant clout in the industry, ExOne. That was back in 2014. Flash forward to today and ExOne, which has since been gobbled by Desktop Metal, was trading under a dollar. Needless to say, I sold what little stock I had in the company. This is only anecdotal evidence mind you, but I submit it as one more exhibit in the failed technological promises of the 2010's.
The vending machine story also mirrors my own lived experience. Though Mississippi has no facial recognition inside any machines to my knowledge, newer models seem to be out of order relatively frequently, especially post-pandemic. The gym I exercise at has a modern vending machine, a product of the mid-aughts or early 2010's by my rough understanding. The vending arm in the machine doesn't work very well and the machine doesn't seem to differentiate well between a fully stocked shelf and a empty one. There are other vending machines nearby, but their track record is equally poor. At this point, I just make sure to bring my own water and avoid the vending machines altogether. Increasingly I yearn for the elegant simplicity of pre-digital technology. When I purchased my old home it came with a very dated oven from the early 60's. My first instinct was to junk it, but after many years of use I wouldn't trade it for any new model. It heats up fast, doors and compartments open and shut with relative ease and aside from a faulty meter or two it still works like a charm.
Far be it from making our lives easier, it seem that modern technology serves as a kind of slick veneer, something that offers us the illusion of progress. To the extent that innovation does occur, it is often geared toward the needs of large institutions and corporations, rather than the individual. One example that comes to mind is the millimeter wave scanner used in so many airports now. No one clamored for it, but there was sufficient institutional push that they have become common features at every airport. Does it work? Maybe. I'm not the TSA, but I'm also not very confident we would get the full story of it if it turned to be an overpriced boondoogle, with no meaningful improvements in airport security.
Our institutions and large companies often need something to give the impression that things are progressing normally and why not throw in a new piece of unnecessary tech to give the illusion of progress? The latest example of this I stumbled on was found on a Youtube video by Retail Archaeology about Walgreens. Like the discovery of the CBC article, I wasn't expecting to stumble upon an instance of pointless tech in action. In the video, a slick, LED screen shows merchandise in a cooler, when a simple glass front would suffice. What is even more comical is that when the LED screen fails, store employees put up a printed, low resolution copy of the LED screen, which offers NO insight into the merchandise within, so it is even MORE useless than a clear glass front. The consumer privacy pledge stuck to the doors also hints at yet one more data collection scheme disguised as cutting edge tech.
As someone who loved science fiction growing up and was excited for the future of technology, it is a bitter pill to swallow when you come to the realization that most new technology is vaporware. New tech is often either a gadget that: a) exists to gather your private data or b) exists as a legitimate front to risky speculation and pump and dump financial scams. Not only that, but in the past 5-10 years we have witnessed whole tech sectors that are false fronts, little Potemkin villages for fraud and abuse. Crypto and the Metaverse are two prominent examples and AI is quickly becoming the newest front for financial fraud. Whatever marginal utility and practical benefits that may be gained from engaging in these emerging tech platforms has basically been buried under an avalanche of fraud.
Inexorably this leads me to the conclusion that the best choice to undertake for my own personal welfare is to avoid new technology as much as possible. Oh there will always be some exceptions: a new computer, the purchase of a camera or camera lens, a new smartphone model. Those are just extensions on an existing paradigm though and I figure an Apple or Facebook, which I joined many moons ago, already have their pound of flesh from me. Also, as social trust declines precipitously I doubt if new tech will ever realize its full potential. Package delivery via drone does sound convenient, but if its Amazon running the show, then I'll pass.
Technology, much like cities, requires a coherent order and social structure in which to thrive. When that order is absent, then it should not be surprising that technology stagnates. I don't want to sound bitter as I lead a comfortable life and at least the big pieces of tech (power plants, automobiles) appear to be holding up. However, the vines and decay are approaching and I have witnessed it in the total lack of innovation on display in our present-day world.
