Back to the Golden Circle, last in the series The third and final stop on the route of the Golden Circle is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland: Gullfoss. This is the landmark from which the Golden Circle draws its name, as Gullfoss directly translates to "Golden Falls". This was a difficult shoot as the wind was blowing hard and driving the spray from the waterfall into my lenses. Even my solid tripod was being battered. I came away thinking I would have nothing to show for this particular adventure, however, thanks to modern tech and Photoshop, I managed to produce a few fairly decent shots after all and here they finally are. Visitors can find the waterfall less than ten minutes down the road from Geysir, also pictured here. Next, I'll post a few pics taken around Husavik and next week, I will post pictures from the city of Reykjavik where we stayed for a few days as our base. while touring the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and the Golden Circle. We also finished up in Reykjavik for another half day before returning home. Those pictures will pretty much be the end of these images of Iceland and I'll be moving on at last to another subject. I was chasing waterfalls today and of the three ones that I visited, Gullfoss was the most spectacular one.
