#Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout

There’s a reference to the old “ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter” attraction from the Magic Kingdom, found in Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! at Disneys California Adventure!

The company X-S Tech are the company who developed the transporter that brings the dangerous alien into a roomful of people… and it seems Taneleer Tivan has bought one for himself.

Tonight I'm thinking about how, when DCA rethemed Sunshine Plaza into Buena Vista Street, they did this thing with the Starbucks that made it a tribute to The Silverlake Sisters, which was a fictional girl group who supposedly performed at the Hollywood Tower Hotel. They actually created lore that tied bits of the lands together. They even had singers in the lobby of Tower of Terror performing as the Silverlake Sisters!

And then they rethemed ToT into Guardians of the Galaxy mere months after doing something really fucking cool with it.

I knew that Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout/Monsters After Dark had a custom music and audio loop that played within its outdoor queue, but could find almost no evidence or mention of it online. So, I went and recorded it myself.

To make up for the audio quality, I've paired it with "visual notes" that transcribe what characters are saying, and display the title/album/artist of the song where available.

Enjoy a wild combination of relaxing ambient music, bizarre sound effects, synthesizer remixes of orchestral scores, lore references, and even some defunct attraction Easter Eggs along the way!

I swore I would never ride the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at California Adventure ever again... but since I'm moving, I figured let's do things I may never get a chance to do again... (please watch. I put myself through so much for this)

Quick question for Disney Parks fans:

Do you think The Collector, as portrayed in Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout (since this side of him isn't really shown in the films), is intended as a parody of Disneyland fans? Or do you think the designers just put random Disney things in his collection with no thought to characterization/lore?
