Gruemaw, another of the very oldest Mortasheen monsters, has undergone a revamp some people will probably loathe like most revamps, especially if they weren't picturing it bright pink all these years like I was as a homage to The Blob crossed with a cryptozoological globster.

Visit its profile link to see it as a baby, too, because that wound up filling its own separate role as a battlemonster.

Well, @bogleech did a revamp of his old Mortasheen critter Gruemaw, and I really liked one of the sketches he did. So, using my Sketch To Ink technique, I decided to do a colorjob, and make that colorjob into a DeepStyled version!

And, not to be rude because I know he’s asked for criticism, my issue with the redesign is; I hate to say it; it feels a bit too generic.

Like, maybe it’s the fact that the wide expanse of pink flesh isn't really broken up by any feature the way the original’s maw did for it, or maybe it’s because the design doesn’t quite have the more distinct shillouette of the original; though its babies ironically do, and funnily enough one of the things that drew me to that sketch was that more distinct shillouette.

Just my two cents tho, I do actually adore the babies and a lot of the weird details Bog added to its biology/behaviour tho...

It’s the Garbage man! Gruemaw used to be The King of Hell, but had a bit of a crisis when his wife left him, and he stepped down. He’s freed from Hell by Bo, and goes on to become a Mentor for him. The flaps on his arms can produce fins for swimming, and he has highly acidic saliva. He enjoys getting drop dead drunk, smoking like a chimney, eating twice his weight in food, and using words that would make a sailor blush. He’s also got infalible instincts, is loyal through and through, and genuinely does enjoy the company of children, even if he has a funny way of showing it.
