BROTHERS, A Tale of Treachery & Doom is a fancomic set in a Grimdark Future, and tells the tale of the four Brotherhoods of the Watch Charybdis, transhuman supersoldiers struggling to protect the distant Charybdis Sector within a forgotten region of the galaxy, as the Great Rift slowly chokes out the light and seperrates them from the greater galaxy.

The Knights Numenarie, paragon swordsmen with the bearing of the Statesman, are sworn to protect the people of the Charybdis Sector with their lives, an increasing pyrrhic task.

The Guardians Culprite are descendants of the Dragon, are master smiths and engineers, desperate to maintain what remains of the sector's collapsing infrastructure.

The Venators Titian, born to the lineage of the Wolf, are trackers and raiders, harrying the many pirates and xenos forces in the sector, all while grappling with their dubious heritage and the dark maze of the sector.

The Arachnia Astra, successors of Raven, operate in the shadows, using assassinations and occultism to combat heresy across the sector. Having spent centuries isolated behind enemy lines, they fear their own corruption almost as much as they fear the corruption of Charybdis.

They are brave.

They are mighty.

They are desperate.

They are doomed.

THEY ARE BROTHERS.

A wip of the final Custom Chapter for my upcoming Space Marine Comic, BROTHERS: A Tale of Treachery & Doom!!

The Knights Numenarie were originally meant to reinforce an Ultramarine successor chapter, but it had been wiped out prior to the emergence of the great rift. When the call was put out for free chapters to reinforce the Watch Charybdis, the Knights Numenarie requested they be assigned to the task. Swordsmasters & scholars, the Knights Numenarie are unique in that they live alongside the people of their Chapter World, directly administering the government as statesmen, administrators, and governors. They build families, befriend mortal neighbors, and live alongside those they protect. Every 3 years, the Knights host a massive celebration on their world of Ascade, known as the Tournament of Blades. Aspirants across the world who seek to join the chapter practice their swordsmanship and compete in a series of bracketed nonlethal duels, with the top fifty aspirants joining the ranks of the Chapter. In battle, the Circles of the Knights Numenarie operate as a combined arms spearhead, the tip of their spears being ranks of swordbearing chapter elite, whose skill with the blade and broad shields crush infantry and armor alike. Supporting them are well drilled teams of brothers bearing bolt rifles, support weapons, and striding to war clad in the heavy chassis of Warsuits. Keep an eye out for more concepts before the First Comic drops in LATE OCTOBER!

Hello there, Faithful Citizens of the Charybdis Sector! Omni here, and Im back to working on this fancomic project! Thank you to everyone who weighed in the other day in regards to my concerns, both here and on twitter & discord. After much thought, Ive come to the decision that I will be moving forwards with the fancomic being formally set in a homebrew chunk of the OPR Grimdark Future setting, informed significantly by the Warhammer 40k setting. So, for you 40k lore hounds, it'll be quite familiar, and with very few differences (most of them being the use of slightly more generic terms for certain proper nouns, and allusions to OPR's lore that you might miss) so, for now, we're back at it with no major lore changes from what's been laid out! I'll be doing one more of these Chapters of the Watch Charybdis blurbs, followed by a couple of concept pieces for the foes they might face, and we'll probably launch right into the fancomic from there, so stay tuned! Now, back to the matter at hand! I have another peak at the "BROTHERS" webcomic for you all today! Today, we talk the Guardians Culprite, the brilliant combat engineers that rebuilt the Charybdis Sector!

BROTHERS: SAURIANS

Not all nonhuman life in the Charybdis Sector is as mysterious as the CHORUS or CHELL-KYT. Some, such as the Saurian Starhost of the Spear of Dawn, have empires of their own.

From an age long past, the Saurians are not born, but bred by arcane technology in vast spawnings. Genetically engineered from birth to best serve their societies, the Saurians of the Spear of Dawn defend their territory with stalwart armies of scaly skin, steely nerve, and advanced weapons.

HERALDY & LIVERY OF THE WATCH'S BROTHERHOODS Each of the 4 Brotherhoods of the Watch Charybdis maintain their own unique systems of Heraldry & Livery, steeped in meaning and tradition.

PART 1: THE KNIGHTS NUMENARIE

The Knights Numenarie, in their proud Robin's Egg blue armor, maintain Tilting Shields across all their Circles as a cultural touchstone to their strong tradition of dueling, and upon each tilting shield is a Coat of Arms, personalized to each Knight. Each Coat of Arms has 2 major elements: an OATH and a PERSONAL EFFECT.

------------------------- The Knights have 4 Oaths for different battlefields roles, and before battle they are renewed or changed as needed: -The OATH OF THE SWORD focuses on close quarters combat, shock tactics, special operations and high mobility warfare. Every Circle’s Leadership is sworn to the Sword Oath, and at any time may requisition other Swordsworn to assist their Circle. PERSONAL EFFECTS, are unique elements added to the Shield, usually recalling a defining deed or moment in a Knight's service, and are very personal. AS AN EXAMPLE: Brother-Apothecary Daxan Tahlk, sworn to the Sword, bears the trinary helix of his office as medicae on his shield, his sword entangled with it, denoting how he views the task of saving lives as defining to his own.

Brother-Castellan Joachim Erlichmann bears two lightning bolts across his shield, a trophy earned by slaying the a champion of the fell powers, “Urjak, the Lightning Bearer”, in single combat at the battle of Craven’s Gorge on the world of Talibtu.
