You can say a lot about #Rabid but no conversation can be had without mentioning the film’s remarkable star, Laura Vandervoort, who brings Rose to life so authentically. It will break your heart. Mr Cronenberg originally wanted to cast Sissy Spacek, but got vetoed because of her accent. His producer Ivan Reitman would suggest Marilyn Chambers, who again made a name for herself by bringing her girl next door charm mixed with savage animal instincts. We were blessed to be connected with Laura whom we had heard much about from Greyston Holt, her costar from Bitten & one of the stars of See No Evil 2. She was being attacked by flying ants over lunch and she was Rose. Eloquent, strong, ballsy, and not the kind of woman to take shit. We asked her to read the script and consider the role, we heard through the Cannes announcement that she accepted. This was not an easy role. She blew everyone away. Our joke was this was Spider-man 2, see our pre-accident Rose on her Vespa on image one. She her channel Sharon Tate in the second image. Not only did she play a leading role, Laura was a producer behind the scenes. Casting the incredible, Greg Bryk, and assisting in putting together a team. This was our first Toronto show and we were grateful. Thank you to our Rose, who suffered so to make this film a reality. Watching the film stirs up a lot of emotions in us, your performance is masterful. For those of you unaware, Laura has gone on to produce a film in the meantime and will be appearing in V Wars - as another vampire? Type casting. We wish her all the best and truly hope that everyone comes to love her as she so deserves. She’s a Canadian superstar, don’t miss her in #Rabid https://www.instagram.com/p/BzlSgaAF8x2vEQG9nR4PgBg9tBsy9yfSksj9ZY0/?igshid=1rn04u2bmn7w6

Adding more images from Next Gen because it came out today. Justin Pin and Joseph Seed look so eerily similar I had to add more pics. The only way this would be better would be if Greg Bryk voiced Pin.
really mild spoilers for Next Gen below the cut
Justin pin is a seemingly charismatic individual with a rabid (dare I say cult-like?) fan-base who eat up his every word. This hides a darker motive/personality. Feels awfully familiar. Justin’s plan loosely encircles the idea of exterminating humans to end conflicts. (i won’t further spoil by explaining why). Obviously some plot differences given the events of gen 6 take place in a robotic distant future. But still loooook at theeem.

I’ve never seen the original Rabid, but I really enjoyed the remake and the obvious love between Rose and Chelsea.
Also the single minute of Greg Bryk as a soap opera director sitting in his chair while one of his stars attacks another actor by biting his cheek off.

There’s a scene in Rabid that Greg Bryk came in for where he played The Director, a brilliant character he created that elevated our outbreak with a biting #MeToo satire. Thank you for what you bring to your characters and a set, @gregbryk, was a privilege to watch you work #Rabid https://www.instagram.com/p/B1wegqLFEqkti9G7bRDXQzWRlYHwx6j57AZNek0/?igshid=11610c7l3ntf3
