Oh! I forgot to tell y’all, I finished TotK during my hiatus! My reactions are as follows:

#THAT FINAL FIGHT #DUDE #GUUUUUYS #Like the music building up was SO amazing #When the fight started the intro and Link drawing his sword was epic #It turned into the standard fair boss fight and I was just trying to get through it after that #BUT WHEN HE SWALLOWED THE SECRET STONE DOCUXHQWMFOCUCYS #THE DRAGON FIGHT #I WAS SCREAMING AND CUSSING AND SQUEALING AT FOUR IN THE MORNING #YO #IT WAS AMAZING #the rest was nice too 👍🏻😂#The story coming full circle with Link actually catching Zelda was wonderful #(I’m sure she didn’t aspirate on water at all while unconscious in a lake nope)#(It’ll be fine nobody has been smashed by the surface tension of the water so I’m just gonna wave my hand and say ✨game magic✨)#Her saying ‘Link…I’m home 🥹’ OH MY HEART #Great game love it #That boss fight definitely elevated it #tears of the kingdom #totk #tears of the kingdom spoilers #totk spoilers #legend of zelda

What a great story. What a tale of twists and introspection. What a tale about the need for home and connection #I know many of you have trusted me before with media recommendations. Trust me one more time.#Do you want to experience the torment of being in a timeloop? And *still* have fun and feel like your time is being respected?#PLAY IN STARS AND TIME!#Do you yearn for complex characters and love unravelling mysteries? PLAY IN STARS AND TIME!!!!#Please heed the content warnings; I took them a little too lightly on my playthrough! They are there for a reason! Don't be like me!#This game means a lot to me and so many others. On the small chance the dev sees this (they are on tumblr after all):#Thank you so much for all your hard work in creating this game and seeing the project through.#It has been a year for us fans but many years for you. So thank you!#I hope it has been a joyful year for you! Watching as people descend into shrieks of agony from playing your game.#It's good! It made me vomit blood. I had so much fun! I felt like I was torturing the protagonist when I played it. I loved it! I cried.

Thinking again about how Suzanne esentially subverted the "beloved famous man that is actually a horrible person in real life" with Finnick, who is the complete opposite of that.

Finnick has this whole image costructed around him by the people that abused him for years: the Capitol's darling, their golden boy, the sex symbol of Panem, the man that has countless lovers but leaves them constantly and doesn't look back etc. And you would expect, initially, to meet a man that retains at least a part of that persona in his day to day life. But Finnick doesn't, not even one bit.

You see instead a man that is deeply in love and completely devoted to the one woman he quite literally adores, a man that protects Mags, his old mentor and his mother figure, as much as he can, a man that wouldn't leave Johanna behind, a man that gathers whatever strenght he has left to speak publicly about the abuse inflicted upon him at the government's hands; the opposite of what the Capitol's media and reputation made him out to be.

#don't even get me started on beetee's line about how it's a miracle finnick is still with them giving all the abuse he suffered #that line is haunting #i just love him he's such a great character :((#finnick odair #annie cresta #odesta #mags flanagan #johanna mason #the hunger games #thg

Thinking about the fact that, to pull Gale from the stone and get him in the game at all, you have to decide to try to touch an extremely dangerous looking swirling mass of unstable magic. Something that is, objectively, a terrible idea

Like, the options it gives you are to either touch the sigil or leave, and if you leave you just... don't get Gale in the party

You have to take the risk. You have to let your curiosity override your common sense. You have to look at this unstable, possibly dangerous malfunctioning magic sigil and go "...Ok, but what if I poke it?"

In short, to get Gale in your party, you have to do exactly what he would in that situation, and indulge in a moment of reckless curiosity. And I just think that's delightful
